That T-Roc is RAPID wow! Would go for the Civic if given the choice unless I was some kind villain/transporter/undercover agent in which case definitely T-Roc. Awesome video!!!
@@vmax03 I hate to say this as someone who will only own manual cars... but DSG's are so fast to the point now that even if a good driver with a clutch stop and a short shift kit were to try his fastest, there's no beating a DSG that can shift in a matter of a few milliseconds.
@@ethanheitz4489 you've got that point. Beating it is most likely impossible. But stating that its *much* faster is quite biased. I guess you can get close to shifting times of a DSG when you're an experienced driver.
@@vmax03 Right, but like I said, DSG gearboxes can shift in mere *milliseconds* . It is almost impossible for manual drivers to shift that fast, and even if they do, there's no guarantee they will be able to repeat shifting that rapidly every time. A DSG not only shifts *quickly*, it also will shift that quick *every time* . Humans usually lack that kind of repeatability. This is why it's more interesting to watch Spec Miatas race than F1 cars, F1 is fast but every car will pretty much do the same, whereas in Spec Miatas, you can really see good DRIVERS shine through.
Hi everyone! Cam here. Yeah, I got a pretty bad launch with the T-Roc R, we did a couple of runs and launch control didn't seem to activate. My bad, but it just shows how quick the T-Roc R is in a straight line. That being said, the Civic Type R is so much more rewarding to drive. So which would you go for? Lemme know!
Just ordered a t roc r on the basis of this/car wow videos. Love the fact most people won’t know how quick it is, including my mrs. Civic is nice enough to drive I’m sure but you can’t bring that car home can you? Look at it
Genuinely surprised by the speed of the T-Roc! Given how wet this country is for much of the year it may not be a bad choice, and I bet the interior is better. Still, would probably choose the Civic for the fun factor :-)
It's rapid and my launch didn't do it justice. T-Roc's cabin was a little on the cheap side, but nowhere near as garish as the CTR. Still, for practicality AND fun, the Type R wins by a mile!
Got a blue one a use it for what it was designed for....the track. Not drag racing 4wd cars in the wet with an inevitable outcome🙄. Best car I’ve ever owned.
FWD with all that power is shite in the wet especially in the UK!!! This shows anyone who don't get that, when a heavy 4wheel drive family suv beats a type r??? And b4 u say it that the Honda is more fun 2drive, go an test drive a golf r or amg a35 or 45 or Yaris gr, all 4wheel drive that gives bags of fun and loads of grip in the wet!!! Why do u still buy cars with all the power through the front or rear wheels lol
All I heard was 'im bored in the t-roc r'. The only reason anyone would buy this is cos they lost the argument with their other half.... but not so badly that they have the cabrio model
Whomever driving the Type R can't launch it with a stick worth a damn. The rain isn't the issue it's the lack of either knowledge of the car or they have no idea how to put the power on to the pavement. It was almost like he had traction control on which would kill it's launch. It was flat out ugly to watch.
It was actually just very slippy on that white line. We tested several launches (feed in the clutch, drop it, TC on and off). The best compromise was to effectively drive off and claw the lap time back through the lap. Would be a very different story in the dry.
@@tylerheatley3421 I own a 2019 those tires are just not even spinning almost like it's in traction control or bogging out. Americans. We keep buying bigger and higher cars, always complaining about safety, convince, and visibility, but we still want to go faster than everyone else. This is why SUV's like the T Roc R, Cherokee Trawkhawk, Urus, most AMG SUV's, and Model X's are selling like hotcakes. I know, I'm not a fan either. To me, handling is very important, so I prefer smaller and lighter cars, and I usually don't even care for having four doors. I just don't see why you wouldn't put these fast and powerful drivetrains in a smaller, lighter package, and then sports cars could still have their place on the market, but because big, high, and fast is what sells, SUV's are becoming the new sports cars, or I suppose you could say they are killing sports cars. As much as I hate to admit all that, it's the way things are going. All this means is sports cars just need to stay up on their tuning game for older models if they want to wipe the floor with SUV's these days, because the bar has been set higher now.
