  • In this video I shoot the Win&Win ATF-X riser for the first time, I discover a few things that are very different about this riser compared to other W&W risers and check for flaws that have been floating around the internet lately.
Also I try reverse tiller for the first time in this video, I made a breakout video of it that I already posted. apologies for the duplicate content!

interesting info on tiller and brace. i will have to try on my bow. I just started to shoot bare bow after putting mine down for compound 30 years ago [bow hunter who likes to shoot as much s hunt]. always shot fingers so that's no challenge and didn't use sight for many years. I really am enjoying the whole thing and like your channel very much. I'm learning alot....even for a 40 yr shooter. glad i stumbled onto your channel..great timing as I really just started shooting recurve and longbow again a few months ago. hope you continue you informative how-to videos for a while

I’ve set my nocking point with even tiller, 20 mm, then adjusted for negative, 6 mm, quite happy about that 👍🏼
But didn’t do it before I saw your video about reverse tiller, thanks for that 🤘🏼

Best riser ever for olympic recurve. I shot Hoyts before (Xceed, Epik) and this one feels much better with the same limbs. Smoother, jumps harder and has less vibration. I have 16 year of experience in archery, so I can tell the difference immediately. I had zero problems with t-blocks and limb alignment.

Another great video. Much thanks......my barebow: Nock point 3/8". Tiller 1/8" negative. Brace height 8 7/8" (22.5 cm). Only pulling 33lb though so?

the tapered alignment pin on the limbs is seated when the bow is strung.

Honestly as a former machinist there are going to be blending issues especially when moving parts to different jigs. Probably won't effect the performance. You can get rid of the ridges but it can take a lot of time. For the bow rise I would probably have used a 4th axis it would make the job easier.

Jake - just being curious, not critical - if you're transitioning to Barebow part-time, why not use barebow dedicated risers (generally heavier Italian-made) rather than adapting OR risers? They just seem to be a better fit. The OR usual suspects (W&W, Hoyt, MK, etc.) are not as highly regarded for barebow proficiency.

Picked up an ATF riser last week and this alluminum riser DOES have a completely different feel than the carbon variety . It kind of goes, "vooam", upon release, not, "thunk" like the Win and Win carbon ones generally do. I guess, it all comes down to personal preference...

You have not use any finger sling while shooting barebow. Any reasons?

Is the limb damper just for feel or does it have a dynamic benefit also does it slow down arrow speed?

Does it worth paying more for the atf-dx? Or we could achieve a comparable dampening effect installing some extra dampers on this one?

Hi Jake. Are you going to shoot it with a Sight not Barebow? Just I'm looking to buy the ATF-X. I didn't realise you were going to shoot it barebow from the previous video. Kind regards Christine

Eventually I may, however shooting it as a barebow gives a lot more info as to the feel of the riser and how it compares to others. I have no interest in shooting Olympic style really, I might put it together to shoot a 36 arrow round to see how it goes eventually

I am thinking the change in centershot is due to the thinner sight window...the thinning was done on the outside portion where the plunger locknut contacts, moving your plunger deeper into (or out of) center shot.

Hi Jake, how long do limbs last or when to change, I'm at 40lb not going up in poundage anymore, had my limbs 2 years, put 700 arrows a week through the bow.

      @dick-gs9tb 4 роки тому +1

I'm still shooting a pair of '88 Hoyt Carbon Plus limbs, so my answer to that question would be "forever".

Had my W&W Inno EX Prime 44# for 10 years and I am still shooting them. Did not weaken at all. My coach has Hoyt G3 limbs and they still shoot great. If limbs were good from the start they will be fine all along. Manufacturing defects happen and these usually show within the first year. All in all. Do not worry.

Your crawl is very deep for 18m. Are your arrows full length? Longer arrow to raise crawl if spine stays okay. I cut my CX RZs 1/4" from max & my crawl is about half yours. The negative tiller makes sense with your low crawl, also could go to 1/4" nock but will only have small effect on crawl.

Do you think the company (W&W) will re-dip a small corner of my TFT riser? It has a fairly minor chip from when I dropped it >_> Almost zero carbon came off. It doesn't need to look pretty, I simply don't want any carbon fiber to be exposed :)
