- Win & Win sent me a complete setup for their 2021 Recurve lineup a META DX Riser and MXT-10 Foam Limbs! I unbox and setup the new setup in this video and make comments along the way of my findings.

This is pretty reminiscent of Sky before Matthew's bought them and then dropped recurve.

dude, hope you've taken advice. nothing more frustrating than getting the wrong thing. I always tell folk at my club Not everything good is expensive, not everything expensive is good ... and cheap can be a false economy. if its recurve, spend your money on the riser and the sight ... they will be with you a while. the limbs can be cheap as you'll outgrow them fast and a shibuya DX button is fantastic. xx75 platinum great beginners arrows. If its compound ... you are on your own! (am a recurver)

I bought the best riser I could afford 5 years ago, W&W AXT and put 42lb EX power limbs on and now I see this! If I upgrade, this is where I'm heading, best start saving as this setup is £1500 in the UK

Careful with that! Remember to set realistic goals and keep a positive mindset, when you go to the line keep no expectations and focus on the process. Outcome is for spectators!

Been waiting for a manufacturer to incorporate the harmonizer damper into a recurve riser.. looking fwd to you shooting it.. i guess it should absorb vibrations better & gives u more of a "thud" kinda feel instead of a "bang"..
Great video. Any update in the draw force chart? Do you draw past 28" and notice if stacking is an issue?
The draw curve your describing seems very close to the uuka VX1000/VX+ limbs (with the extra recurve profile). It coulg be interesting if you could test them and do draw curves with them also.

dont think of WNS as a budget riser .... the current WNS kit was W&W cutting edge 10 years ago. you are getting a great piece of kit.
Jake, Stolid-Bull have had fully adjustable plunger and rest plates for quite a while. But relatively boutique compared to W&W and Hoyt ;)
I hope they plan to offer more colours, is that tan color any good? I would go with either the tan or black with the current offerings.
So I'm not the only one triggered but that paint chip. ;-) Nice shirt they sent you. Not a fan of the sand colour of the riser. The black or red risers look a lot better on the W&W website and would look great with those MXT-10 C limbs. Gillo do sell that string pouch. Would love to see your thoughts of the Meta DX vs the ATF especially how different feedback feels based on Alu vs Carbon.

Hi Jake from Australia. This is what I have found. You may know by now, but as I'm newish to archery and your channel (which I what everything I can that you produce) I figured I'd try and assist.
Here is the USAA rule describing dampeners allowed.
11.4.6.1.
Vibration dampeners are permitted. They may be installed in the riser by the manufacturer, or by attaching aftermarket dampeners directly to the riser or to weight(s). Any combination of weight(s) and vibration dampener(s) must pass through a ring with an inside diameter of 12.2 cm (+/- 0.5mm) without having to flex vibration dampeners to fit through the 12.2 cm ring. A riser manufacturers' angled stabilizer insert(s) are allowed, but angular brackets or connectors are not permitted. Weight(s) and dampener(s) may be added below and above the riser’s grip, but must not aid the athlete in aiming or ranging in any way.
Did you shoot barebow with the riser? If yes, what was your experience?

Awesome riser! So glad with the new ATF-X colors! I was planning to buy one next year and these new colors came out! Do you know if there are price differences if I buy it in Korea?
No idea on the price difference if any.
Would be interesting to see if it passes muster for Barebow. Rule says internal dampers are allowed when fitted as part of the bow, as long as they do not have stabilisers. I note the dampener says "stabilizer" on the side. Might have to wait for someone to refer it to the rules committee for clarification

$1050 for a riser and the model last year radical pro is now $980 on Lancaster. I remember when radical pro came out it was $850 when it release last year. Did inflation just happens within last 6 months? Or did I sleep under a rock for 10 years
Jake i had problems ith shooting fat arrows with Inno max due to lack of clearance, do you think this could happened with this riser?
No issue, if you have a problem, just use feathers. Thats what I did when I shot Hoyts, win win etc.

Jake how would you compare the riser with the Hoyt EXCEED ILF please . I generally prefer Hoyt deflex geometry and find the more reflex of Wiawis not to my liking. I have the MXT limbs - these look the same apart from extra thickening at the fade outs . Interesting as this will also alter the limb flex geometry and reduce the effective limb length ? Is this a good thing ?
Both hoyt and W&W are deflex geometry. Neither are reflex. I do not know how much the geometry is different between the two, I would suspect very little if any at all.
Again the affected limb length was not changed at all, as where it ends is where the limb starts flexing any way.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery yes they are both deflex but winwin risers are significantly less deflex then Hoyt GMX - ie more "recurve ".= less deflex -this makes big difference when using UUKHA and Border super and hyper recurve limbs because of their demand for lower BH than " normal" Limbs. I find the less deflex makes the riser feel " jumpier" and more "aggressive" and winwin argue faster due to the lower BH but less stable ..
So I've had two judges confirm that this is currently legal for barebow, which is exciting. Granted, judges often disagree with each other.
On a different note, those are the nicest looking limbs I've seen outside of possibly Uukhas. Matte and minimal graphics is definitely the way to go.

@@JakeKaminskiArchery W&W seems at least somewhat interested in market trends. Minimal graphics this time around, two different 27" risers in their line-up. This is an interesting, non-traditional option for barebow shooters.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Alright, so I (and those judges) were wrong initially. But the rule was changed, and you'll be able to shoot it after January 15th.
Or is it just a tighter mounting point for sight. It is also legal for barebow skyy had a riser like that and Ryland shot It regularly on usat

Jake, are those limbs smoother than Uukha's you've tried?
Hard to say, but id say I like them better. Less "foreign" to my old ways but way more stable.

Hey Jake, I figure you would know of anyone. How do you reset W&W Limb Bolts back to factory? I don't remember how many times I've moved my W&W TFT bolts.

Thanks for the reply...wanted to compare it to the WNS Vantage G7 , which is more my price range. Hard to compare marketing verbage, but, I've come to learn that royal cross carbon is or might be more stable than unidirectional carbon.

Barebow....struggling with a solid anchor point vs tension and direction. I can get get my horizontal dispersion tighter more often than my vertical...and yes my bare shafts land right in with the fletched.
Headed toward a 27" riser and a better set of limbs...tks

great kit though. cant recommend W&W enough.
I have just got mine. Product is incredible but the documentation is awfull. No comments about the rest plate or about the transparent sticker who are in the bag. When you have mounted all the accesories the bag of the handle is too small. I find that it is a shame to pay so much for a product and not having correct information ( they use the book from 2 or 3 years ago). thank you for some backut
