Jake: I really enjoy watching the two of you shoot. As a beginner, it is very helpful to see you and Heather shoot and watch you coach her up. I’d love to see more videos like this.
Thanks for showing you shooting. I feel so much better seeing someone as good as you not hitting gold all the time. I feel like I might be doing ok. Love seeing you shoot barebow. Looks like you have good competition in the family .
Two years ago me any my 10 y.o. daughter went for a walk in a local park. We found a bow-shaped flexible stick of caragana tree for about one meter long and deciced to turn it into a bow. We wrapped a fishing line to the ends of a stick and tried to shoot it. It performed amazingly well, we managed to shoot a hand made arrow up to 45 meters! We literally falled in love with bow shooting so I bought a traditional recurve bow on my daughter's birthday, and bought a recurve bow with ILF limbs to myself. It is great sport! We often go shooting together in a local park, sometimes people asking some basic questions about our bows, we love that positive attention to our new hobby!
I'd be intrested in comparison of 2 sets of the same limbs in wood and foam seeing the differance for the materials. Eg 2 wood limbs acting slightly different cause of the natural wood.
As always, great content! I just go the MXT-10 wooden limbs and it's great! I must mention that it has ZERO rattling or movement on my ATF-X. Really love shooting this bow.
Great shooting - your expertise in setting up bows is amazing and I can see with your guidance and some practice Heather will be a force to be reckoned with! I hope you are going to quiet down your set up (I'm sure you will) or people standing near you on the shooting line will be ducking for cover LOL - great video
My bow is actually quieter then most barebows I have heard. I have to crank the gain up on the editing to get you to hear the conversation. I detest lavalier mics cause they always get in the way and use an improvised shotgun mic which is workable. However I will throw limb savers on my bow when they come in.
Good shooting Heather! You’ve really improved! Congratulations. 55 degrees is cold ? I’ll trade you . It’s 8 degrees here right now 🥶😂. Great videos. Thank you
You've talked a lot about changes to Heather's bow/arrows and her form, but I don't recall specifics. Limb draw weight, draw length, length of the bow and arrow length in particular. Thanks
Fantastic segment Jake. Thank you as always for showing the process (and to Heather as well). On your crawl at 20 yards, are you pointing the arrow tip at the six of gold?
Hi, during your shoot you changed your tiller twice... can you explain what that did? Was that your top or bottom bolt? Was that increasing or decreasing the difference between top and bottom? Is negative tiller when the bottom bolt measures more that the top? Hopefully you don't mind all these question... it's been very helpful following your wife's progress. Thank you
Hello there Do you need a black string or string to match serving under barebow rules I know we do in EEFA and I thought the same in WA due to rule over using serving as siting 👍Great video you seem excited to get out and shoot 😂
@@JakeKaminskiArchery hey, Jake! New archer here. Just wondering if there is a particular reason that two-colour strings are not permitted in barebow competitions? That's very strange!
WA rules (see rule 22.3.2.1) allow multiple colour strings. Serving doesn't need to match the string, and I'm fairly sure it needs to be a single colour. Serving shouldn't end within line of sight when at full draw (as it could be used in a similar way to a peep)
im hitting my nose way to often to the point of trying to change up my form ... any suggestions or links to info on the variety of anchor positions often used in bare bow? im talking anyone this is a question to the community not just jake
The audio being boosted way up to catch voices. I figured out what I was doing wrong with my audio and it’s fixed on the most recent video of me shooting.
Her bow had limb savers on the limbs. Part of the reason her bow is quieter. Another is the draw weight, my bow is much heavier and usually that means louder.
@Jake Kaminski Thanks Jake! That led to me finding your video on quieting bows. Almost can't think of something you don't have a video of, thanks so much!
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Thanks for your response, I've never saw those vanes, look similar in shape and length to the EP-26 but much lighter, I like that.

I like how you and your wife shoot together.
Archery , a sport an entire family can enjoy together , had a wonderful time watching my three daughters shoot 3D tournaments and win !
Heather is killing it, good luck to both of you at the competition
heathers hesitation at full draw showed her patience with wanting the perfect shot... the target confirmed it worked... good shooting guys
Beiter Pin Nocks work really fine with string walking. So far had never a problem.
I wish the two of you the very best of luck at the state competitions.

You go shooting in a local park? I'd be interested to know what country you're in. In the UK the police would be onto you within minutes.
Love the photo at the end :)
Wonderful to see the journey 💞 live to shoot !
Nice shooting Heather! I do most of my shooting alongside my daughter (she kicks my ass), it makes my day worthwhile.

@@JakeKaminskiArchery When you shot your 1st arrow I thought your bow blew up - nearly jumped out of my chair!
Dang it barebow looks fun. You're going to have me buying a 25in riser for winter practice. My longest riser for hunting is only 19in.
Your tiller measurements are making my head spin.

Jeeze, she is killing it, haha! Nice work Heather! Are you guys going to try and get some footage from States to make a vid?
Possibly, it will depend on what they allow on filming. I'm not sure because it would technically be for commercial purposes.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Oh that makes sense, didn't think of that.
Good going Heather,,very enjoyable video

Heather is doing really well
Dude it's probably 50 degrees in my club's indoor range right now. The wifey can shoot!
In Minnesota is -14 windchill so 50 degrees is warm up here.
Easton Super Nocks seem to be very durable and have a deep enough throat for stringwalking...
Great vídeo, extremely helpful.
Yes Heather Yes!!!
Fantastic segment Jake. Thank you as always for showing the process (and to Heather as well). On your crawl at 20 yards, are you pointing the arrow tip at the six of gold?
Yep, at the bottom of the gold
great shooting you both, would wish we could go outsite as much…in Germany we have abou -3 to +5 wet weather here ;o(
Regarding tiller: do you use the same tiller for 50m and 18m?
Not sure yet! I suspect no but will report when I get there.
Way to end!
Where in Florida are you at if you don't mind me asking?

I was increasing my draw weight and not changing my tiller, this was because my arrows were showing a bit stiff.
looks like your going to have a bit of competition there Jake
Ha ha I had a limb saver fly off during competition once.
Have you considered the easton rx7s. I shot them for my indoor and really enjoyed them
I have. However I just haven’t bought them. One day.

I don't think so, but two color strings are not allowed.

Not yet, BUT I will have the opportunity here soon. Big changes coming.

Is your bow really loud or is it just a sensitive audio recording?
The audio being boosted way up to catch voices. I figured out what I was doing wrong with my audio and it’s fixed on the most recent video of me shooting.
What way do you use to bow and unbow your bows
My hands.
I'm a new shooter so this might be obvious. But what is stuck to her limbs, and why is her bow so much quieter?
Her bow had limb savers on the limbs. Part of the reason her bow is quieter. Another is the draw weight, my bow is much heavier and usually that means louder.

18m/20yds
18 meters.
👍👍👍👍👍
gosh! yall are so frickin cute ugh
Yost tabs? Dude you should have her in all your videos;-)
What vanes is she using? AAE EP-26?
AAE Trad vanes. The short ones
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Thanks for your response, I've never saw those vanes, look similar in shape and length to the EP-26 but much lighter, I like that.
Dang Jake. You need to let Heather quiet down that bow for ya. LOL
It's the gain on the camera to boost the audio. Its quieter then 90% of other barebow shooters out there IMHO
When
we wil see you on a real field cup?
Look into beiter asymmetric nocks
Too pointy, my nose already hurts from standard nocks, Maybe when shooting 50m point on I will.
Im from india, i want a recurve riser , my height is 5.10ft
Dang... two times silver medalist and your wife smokes you.... haha
Is it just me who feels like the ILF stuff is expensive, good arrows are expensive 😭
The wife going to out shoot you Jake. Good job guys.. Now I got to go practice..
You realize she’s smoking you, right? ;)
