In this video I will give you four strategies to use to search for a home that I used in my rental searching journey. I will also, discuss some points that I take into account while viewing the houses.

Well done Eileen! It is also important if you are from a non-EU country that requires a D-7 visa for living more than 90 days at a time to have a landlord willing to process your rental payments by paying their 23% income tax. Immigration must be able to verify your residency.

@@TheAseem770 If you are applying for a D-7 (pensioners) or D-8( digital nomad) residency visa that is required for people like Non-EU citizens--- you need proof of a legal place to stay like a legal lease from your landlord or a statement that you are living free with a domestic partner or family. . The SEF will check it out while your visa application is being reviewed. They will also check out whether your landlord is paying their required income tax of 23% on his/her rental income.

I unfortunately don't speak french (yet) so I hope I understood everything correctly Regarding the deposit, yes usually they ask for a months deposit and/or they ask you to pay the first two months ahead. It does depend though, one the house I got now I had to pay to the first two months ahead, no deposit. Thanks for your kinds words, glad you are enjoying my videos, hope to see you back next week. I love what you're doing and the direction in which you're going. First, thank you for your hard work, while the words of your detailed efforts roll off the tongue very easy, it is laborious. What I would like to see is airports and seasonal air fare, you'd be doing travel agents and airline a great service. I'd like to think that they would sponsor your videos. Best wishes and be safe.

@@tworiversprojects I love to travel far too much and after viewing your videos and seeing your bravery, omg, I'm a coward compared to you. I fell in love with the concept that you purchased a one way ticket, what confidence. I could not have done this neither would my parents permit it. Anyway, enough of my apprehensions. University life is literally one of the very best times in an individual's life in that the world literally becomes your oyster. Depending on the University and field of study, a great deal of students seize the opportunity to study abroad not so much so for the academics but the opportunity to travel to and live in a foreign country. Since I myself am also foreign, this intense desire escaped me bot what I was bombarded with were a myriad of questions that I really didn't know the answer to so I felt that you being in Portugal, without disclosing your personal surroundings but instead offer a general overview about the how, what and where of the country as a whole that will aid students and travel lovers of all ages a place to start. Of course they will be required to do their own further research but the fact that you're present in the country is most advantageous. As it pertains to airports for example, what are the popular destinations in Portugal according to Google and what is the best airport to fly into to these destinations. I'm not sure given the current economic climate if airlines offer lower airfare during slow seasons but you can call and the agent can tell you. I would do two out of three calls done on different days. You've already done a video on hostels but depending on what cities you select to highlight, if you so desire, hostels, eateries, and popular sites would be of great interests. As a student, eateries, resteruants that served local cuisines were always a hit, we want to know what's the popular food of other people, be careful in France, they're very liberal with what they eat. So, I hope this helps. Also, if you highlight any hotels call them and let them know that you're interested in highlighting their establishment on your UA-cam Chanel and they might give you a stipend for the free publicity. Another area of interest are the universities for those that wish to study abroad. You're an excellent source in helping students make up their minds. Were your classes taught in English or Portuguese and did the university you attent have an international studies program? As ever, very proud of you.
I have studied in the Netherlands, mostly it being in Dutch, but part of the subjects in English. I did attend the University of Coimbra to do an intensive summer course for foreigners (5 weeks) and lived in the city for a couple of months. So I guess if that is a topic of interest I can make a video about that at some point, thanks for the suggestions!

Hi, I advise you to contact a local real estate agent in the area that you are looking to rent. All properties I have connections with are shown on my channel :)
And what are the chances that one can hire you as a Consultant to assist in the finding of a suitable Rental property?

Hi Eileen, I have been watching your UA-cam videos. It is very informative, I plan to apply for a D7 visa and would need a rental. My family and I will be in Portugal during September 2023 and plan to stay in and around Coimbra are there any short term rental (1 month)and I will be glad if you can advise on some rentals which will help me with the D7. can you let me know your email so that we can correspond on the same.

Nao sei se tens noção dos vídeos que estas a fazer e para quem estas a fazer, caso nao saibas estas a incentivar o que nos os portugues nao queremos. Obviamente que nao ias direcionar estes videos para o porto ou lisboa, pensa um bocadinho.
