Hey Dave. Your list is mostly focused on touristic areas. Sure they might be the most appealling to people as you have all commodities nearby but they are also pricier. Most expats might be more interested on not so crowded places. I get it that people might be much more interested on living closer to the coast but that always comes with a price. And anywhere in Portugal is always less than 2h drive from the sea - which for many americans is like a trip to Walmart xD. It would also be interesting to show some other options that are hidden gems and might be a perfect fit for many expats with lower prices, safer and a much better overall quality of life. I live in the center of Porto but was raised in the countryside so I know what`s the best and worse of being on a "big" city. I recently visited for the first time a place I knew about but never got the chance to visit and oh boy, I`d move immediately, specially working remotely like I do (though my wife doesn`t) but I`m definitely considering it for a vacation house soon. It`s about 40m drive from the sea. With 150k you can get a 2 bedroom detached house and the best part of all, it`s right next to the most beautiful place in Portugal - Gerês Natural Park. This place is called Arcos de Valdevez but there are also other smaller cities that have everything you need, cost you less and will improve your life! ;)
You should do a video on those places if you think those are the best places for people to consider, and he will do the videos that he believes are the best places for us to consider. in this way every once in needs can be met
You need to catch up when it comes to rent/buying properties. These prices are way below what you will find in Braga. More like $1000 for 1 bedroom. To buy you are looking at $150k for 1 bed apart.

For more rural outlook Vale de Gato between Tomar (some towns in between) has 3 beautiful villages before it reaches the outskirts of Fatima, and here you can farm, making a small holding at a reasonable price without fear of forest fires, the forest is long distance away. For non drivers it also has a regular bus service passing through from Tomar to Fatima. This is just these areas and I have not explored further south.

Dave, love your videos and your take on Portugal! I was born here but lived in the States most of my life, until about 2 years ago. Getting used to the different culture and way things work takes some time - even if you speak Portuguese, but in the end, you take a walk through Obidos and it is all worth it :-) Incidentally, believe it or not, I almost bought the house you live in!!! the first video of your I saw I recognized those rafters, because when I visited it I remember saying it would make a great office. From one American Dave living in Portugal to another: how about Braganca? I live in Lisbon, but I'd like to move somewhere else. I've been hearing many good things about Braganca. What do you think...?
Just come! You'll be welcome. Here you can taste the best food of your life for almost nothing. You'll have the fresher air that you can find, amazing landscapes everywhere and if you like History, we're old as fuck. Yet, don't expect to find the rural city with typical eldery people everywhere that everyone think Bragança is. We have a lot of African, American and Asian youngsters here, we have (certainly) the most mixed and heterogenic population in all country (yap, even considering Lisbon). So, come! Taste our food and the Capeverdian food, and know people from everywhere, since Timor, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Angola, Mozambique, China, Eritrea, Ukraine, Moldova, São Tomé and Principe and of course: from Brazil:D

If yall want to move in i can help. From porto, would strongly recommend
Is that you on the guitar sound track?
@@paulolopes9419 Thanks! 👍
@@davidgalvez5341 notice me if you consider to move, a helpful and native hand is always a nice pro.Enjoy Portugal!
@@paulolopes9419 you convinced me. Would you believe Mexico doesn't want me but Portugal has open arms for retirees.
@@elizabethheyenga9277 Why would you say Mexico doesnt want retirees? It is not true in the least. Mexico is a huge country with many very cheap places to live and friendly people.

How about job opportunity for foreigners in Portuguese Venice. Or others affordable city for living
I living in Portugal now, maybe it not expensive from US citizen, but it expensive from UE citizen standpoint. Also that you need to know, Portugal is a village, even Lisbon, so it will be difficult to buy some goods because marcet is tiny.
I am from the UK and many of prices seemed on a level with here to be honest.
Dave you can come to Bangladesh, and you Will forget Braga or Portugal.
#gostandomuito do canal
you slipped in "island boy" and i hit subscribe.
Nice
The cities where it is cheaper to live are in the interior of the country, and the cheapest ones on the coast are not the ones you mentioned.
@Marco E o que é qualidade de vida?
Terceira, over Sao Miguel all day.
