Thanks! I made salmon cakes last week. I used pork rinds and egg white for my binder and my spices were onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and old Bay. I made the patties then used more pork rinds for my breading and fried them up. I've been making these for years but recently started using pork rinds as we're on low carb.
Oh my goodness!!! Growing up in the South, this was a quick meal my Mom would put together often. I haven't made them in years. I follow a low-carb diet and tried this recipe last night, and let me tell you....almost cried. The nostalgia that swept over me was unreal. These salmon patties were sooooo delicious and easy to make! I called my Mom and we laughed over eating them so much back in the day and how good they always were. Thank you so much for this excellent recipe!
My mother, Texan, rolled the formed patties in oil, then bread crumbs and baked them in the oven. They were crispy and we ate them with lemon, ketchup, or tartar sauce. Yes to the mashed potatoes, and salad
Burned? No way, they look great and I bet using a cast iron skillet gives them a nice crispy bottom! My mom use to make those too! Thanks for the reminder!
Red onions are good to cut up in bits and add to pattie batter,.....nice flavor and lemon pepper is good instead of the pepper. I only use wild caught red salmon...so much better than pink salmon. I sprinkle some almond flour or coconut flour on both sides of the pattie just before I cook....( My mom dipped her patties in cornmeal) I do NOT FRY...not good for the body,..... so I cook in small amount of oil and they are still delicious. Good on a bed of sprouts, topped with a smear of mayo and sprinkle with chopped green onions or chives,..( cholula is fun too) You are welcome. I love this guy...fun and has some fun and usable recipes.
Thank you! I have a can of salmon and a can of mackerel in my pantry. Also have green onions, celery and capers in the fridge. I bet pimento would be great also. I'm making these today.
I make my grandma's recipe but substitute the bread crumbs for pork panko, and my mom and aunt said they can't even taste the difference. It's so yummy. Here's my recipe: (I double the recipe, so cut it in half if it's too much. It makes about 8 patties.) •2 cans of salmon , bones and skin removed •½ to 1 cup of pork panko (add to your liking for consistency) •4 eggs •Salt and pepper, to taste •½ cup chopped onion Mix everything together by hand, heat 1 inch of oil in a pan over medium to medium-high heat. Shape the patties and fry them about a minute on each side, or until golden brown. Serve with hot sauce or a dill aioli. 😋
I haven't had these sense my grandma was alive. Granny used cheep tuna, celery, and onion with the normal stuff enough cayenne pepper to make it interesting.
My momma in law, an Arkansawyer, loved sal-mon (say that L loud and proud) croquettes. I was a bit of a snob, growing up in the Pacific Northwest and having fresh salmon available. Now I’m older and more appreciative of her and nostalgic. What a perfect recipe conversion! (And, I love you, too, back...)
We always used bacon grease to fry. We also used sour cream instead of mayonnaise. I’ve also made them with ground pork rinds in place of flour. Like you said all would work.
This is 3 years old as I write but quite timely for me. I just began my Keto journey. Lost 15 pounds in the last month and a half. I have some razor clams form Washington state that my brother gave me. They are not in strips. I defrosted them and I had mush. So I drenched them in egg and added enough almond flour to make a patty hold together. Kind of bland but real good at the time. I really liked the way you put this together. I also liked the way you called it tuna at the end of the second segment. It gave me more ideas. I miss the crab cakes I had in Virginia and will try to use this as a way to get back to some comfort food from my past. Currently living in California.
I love watching you cook and hearing you talk. You make me feel right at home, as I also grew up in the south. We grew up loving Salmon croquettes also!! Thank you for sharing and bringing joy to my life.
How did you know I wanted salmon croquettes tomorrow? Thank you so much for another wonderful recipe AND for being a bright spot in my day. Keep safe and keep on cooking.
I made a bunch of these several for my husband and I to eat...used the recipe on the can of salmon and altered it slightly for our taste. I've never eaten a crab cake as I'm not a fan of crab. I love your videos!
Love you and your channel so much .. I did keto for a while last year, but never really took to it .. I just come here now to watch you cook. You do an awesome job ... don't stop .. and stay safe!! :D
So much nostalgia! My grandmother made a living as a fishing guide in South Carolina and used to have fish fries after a successful guided trip. We'd set up the fryer outside (peanut oil all the way), have chunks of fried fish, and she'd make hush puppies, soooo good. The only things I liked onions in as a kid. Now that I'm on the Plant Paradox Diet (similar to Keto except I don't count macros or check blood sugar, but there are also more "no" foods on my list), I've craved fried foods so much. We have cans of salmon and tuna, and enough of everything else in the ingredients list to give it a go, this is on the menu tomorrow!
I just made the recipe with a few subs. In short, delicious!! We didn't have enough salmon so I used 1/3 salmon and 2/3 tuna. We didn't have Old Bay or Cajun seasonings so I used smoked paprika and Creole (I know, those aren't exactly subs, ha) plus a pinch of cayenne powder. Instead of one or the other, I used half celery and half orange bell pepper. I used avocado mayo instead of regular mayo. This was my first meal of the day, so I basically ate half the patties and stared longingly at the rest but forced myself to put them away. No fish taste at all, amazing. They were a little crumbly, I'll either add more almond flour or less tuna next time, and make the patties smaller. There will definitely be a next time! Plus I didn't drain the tuna and salmon well enough, they released quite a bit of moisture in the pan. Refrigerating them for 30 minutes worked really well! Love the way they browned in the pan. I used ghee because we're out of avocado oil. Although I don't like the smell of ghee frying, it adds a satisfying buttery richness to the finished dish, yum. Thanks again for sharing this recipe!
I am from Michigan and I grew up on salmon patties too, lol. I've made them for years and am sooooo glad you made this video. I'll be making some very soon.
My mother never made them the same way every time. She used what she had, left over potatoes, onion, and lots more and they were always awesome. Love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had decided yesterday that I wanted salmon patties. Today I was getting ready to put keto salmon patties in the search. Low and behold I get an email that you have uploaded a video for keto salmon patties. I was so happy. I love your channel, so I immediately watched it and printed the recipe. I fried mine in a cast iron skillet in lard. They were as good if not better than regular nonketo patties. My husband was crazy about them. I served them with green beans cooked with ham and deviled eggs. Nonketo husband got tater tots. The perfect meal. Thank you so much for your channel and your recipes. I watch you religiously.
I grew up in Texas, raised by my grandparents. This was one of my favorites that my Granny would make. We called them salmon patties (pronounced sal-mun). This makes me so happy!
I make salmon croquettes. We used a muffin tin in my family and baked them. That was a pain to clean so I just form them into balls and cook on a cookie sheet. I use riced cauliflower instead of crumbs. Oddly, the egg is unnecessary. If I want a coating, I roll it in ground hemp seeds.A sauce of mayonnaise and a little ketchup is yummy with salmon croquettes. I’ll have to try your recipe sometime.😋
Here's my Keto Tarter Sauce to go with them: 1 Cup Avocado Oil Mayo (I get the one from Costco, it's organic and has no other vegetable oil in it) 1 Tbsp Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (add more to taste) 1/2 Tbsp Dry Dill Weed 1/4 - 1/2 Cup Minced Dill Pickles of your choice (most relishes have extra preservatives and stuff added so I just use pickles) Mix everything together with a whisk and add sea salt to taste if it needs any. Here's a pro tip: The more lemon juice you add the better, and if you're feeling adventurous you can mince up half of a whole lemon, peel and all, and put that in too. Lemons are great for us, and the whole thing is edible, even the seeds. I buy organic lemons in bulk, keep some fresh to mince up and put in my tuna salad or sardines, then I lacto-ferment the rest in jars using a 10% salt to weight ratio. I'm making these croquettes for dinner tomorrow and I can't wait!
Once again, I’m drooling... thankful I bought canned salmon on my last grocery haul before our “social distancing”! Thank you for the continued inspiration to make low carb, delicious... in my own kitchen!💫✨💞
Just made about 1/3 recipe with a can of sardines and it’s just what I wanted! I made a 1/3 flax egg (a teaspoon of flax meal with a tablespoon of water, let stand for 5 minutes) because 1/3 of an egg is a pain, and it worked out fine. Will definitely do again!
Good to see you are doing well during these times we are in. My mom made salmon cakes all the time when I was growing up...she left the bone and skin in too. When I was old enough to make my own I took the time to remove the bone and skin because I didn't care for the texture the bone imparted...it was too gritty for me. Nowadays I use wild salmon (frozen) cut up into small bitesize pieces to make my salmon cakes...they are so much better to me when using salmon filets. Thank you for sharing your quarantine recipe with us. :)
Thanks reminds me of friday supper growing up salmon patties mac an cheese and peas. When I came home on leave from military was one meal i always asked for
Looks so yummy!! I bought two cans before quarantine because I have been wanting to make some salmon patties (keto of course!) because I loved my Mama's when I was growing up (she used regular flour in hers). She has been gone for five years now and I miss her every day. Some foods will always remind me of her and this is one. Your video was very timely as I planned to make these this week. I may surprise my boyfriend with some tomorrow night. Thank you Wes for your wonderful videos!! Big hugs from GA ~ Renee
I made these and these are my GO TO! I would seriously eat these if I wasn’t in Keto. So delish and makes you feel like you’re eating something with a crispy breading! 10/10 recommend!!!
First time seeing you make something that wasn't a "challenge". Thank you. My mom made those with mashed potatoes and peas. Not my favorite meal, but took me back to a wonderful time in my life. Thank you!!
More than a few cans of salmon in the cupboard and I know what's for supper tonight. I have made (what we call) Crabby Patties using crushed pork rinds to lower the carb count even further and had lovely results. :)
Wow just Discovered this in December 2020 and they are delicious. My hack to this to it took it up a notch was to put Fat Snax Sea Salt crackers in my food processor and use instead of Almond flour. Non keto people loved it as well.
Made these last night. Fantastic. Called mom and to tell her all about them. I used canned salmon. Can’t wait to try with tuna and chicken. Got lots of them in the cabinet. Yum yum. Thanks Wes!
Wow, these brought back memories. My Mom made salmon patties with mashed potatoes and green onion. They were always served with creamed corn and a salad. Can't have the potatoes or the corn anymore however this recipe looks great and I would pair them with a nice creamy coleslaw and a dollop of sugar free ketchup. Looking forward to it.
ah, you just took me back to my childhood with my grandma. we made these all the time with macaroni & tomatoes. was not low carb. lol thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I grew up eating these, and it’s one of my husbands favorite meals. But I make mine pretty simple. I made these tonight...and Oh. My. Goodness....seriously, so freakin good! I had 2....and old habits wanted to creep back in and devour 2 more servings. Now I need to find a good keto tarter sauce...
Keto Tarter Sauce: 2 Cups Avocado Oil Mayo (I get the one from Costco, it's organic and has no other vegetable oil in it) 2 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice (add more to taste) 1 Tbsp Dry Dill Weed 1/2 Cup Minced Dill Pickles of your choice (most relishes have extra preservatives and stuff added so I just use pickles) Mix everything together with a whisk and add sea salt to taste if it needs any. Wes! I made these for dinner tonight - totally according to your recipe - and they were absolutely delicious! I couldn't find Old Bay seasoning at either grocery store yesterday, so I mixed up a homemade version I found on Allrecipes.com, and it was so good. My mama used to make salmon or tuna patties when I was growing up, but those never tasted as elegant as your version! I definitely recommend these!
Yes, yes ! I love the croquettes. I grew up on them, too. Great idea to sub with the almond flour. Good post ! Now, here's what i learned one time when I was short on oil. Use your 6" cast iron instead (some folks call it the egg skillet). The oil will be much deeper that way. You can comfortably cook 2 patties at a time. Like you said, it only takes 3 or 4 minutes and you're only frying 1 more batch. Anyway, that's the way I do it. Love your channel, huni ! Keep 'em coming.
So glad to find this recipe. I got several cans of salmon on sale, and we are having a difficult time making ourselves eat it. I bet prepared this way it will be devoured.
I grew up eating these also. Growing up on the shore of lake Michigan, my mom canned salmon so these were a weekly Friday staple. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood. Served with mac& cheese and coleslaw.
I normally make salmon patties with an egg, oil and Martha White's Corn Meal Mix and I love them so I was trying to figure out what the binding agent would be. I can totally do almond flour and mayo. Thank you so much!
I made these for breakfast today with a homemade garlic aioli type of dip for them and some eggs and grits (small portion) on the side. And let me tell you!! This was the best salmon patty I've ever tried, regular or low carb! I just might make them again tomorrow
Pulling out an entire salmon filet from deep in the freezer to make this! My mom used to make this ALL the time growing up in Mississippi from canned salmon, and because siblings do not eat seafood, I always got 2 extra croquettes and they got to pretend they ate all their dinner. Good memories and glad I can repeat this with keto.
I'm from Alabama and we serve everything with peas and potatoes. Idk about comeback sauce though so you'll have to tell me about that one. This was a great video, thank you so very much.
OMG how fitting is it that this video came out at this time. I just tried Salmon for the first time three days ago. I bought them from the Scwan man. They were running a contest to see who could sell the most packages. So I loved it!. I can't wait to make these. I loved seeing my name in the credits. Boy it really is the little things that make you happy in times like these!
Never had these in my life but I'm quarantined for almost 20 days (Italy here) and they look appetizing so they're gonna be my dinner! Thanks for the recipe, it's food traveling :D Take care and stay safe. Also all of you that maybe are reading this :)
tgkalela Cheers from Switzerland. Yes I’m making these too asap. Thanks for the good wishes. Sure hope you‘re doing fine and staying healthy! Really worried about everyone in Italy 😥 but here too the numbers are going up by the hour. I pray we all can help flatten the curve. God‘s speed 🙏 to you and yours 💖
Mom's was always extremely simple(mostly out of necessity). 1 can of salmon(what she bought was processed enough it never had skin/bones that I recall. maybe bones, def not skin), 1 egg, corn meal, maybe some salt/pepper. She always went light on the salt back then since her first mistake(*ahem* husband) would always put extra salt on everything regardless.
I made these quarantine salmon patties today and they were delicious. I figure with 1/2 cup almond flour that's 6 net carbs. Making each patty 1 carb. Hope I figured that correctly as salmon had no carbs. Great recipe.
Quarantine croquettes! You're such a charming dude, I'm glad to see you doing well with all that's going on. Thanks for all the good recipes. We made keto croquettes the other night, they came out tasting just like my grandma's. Such a nostalgia fest. Keep up the great work brotha.
Made these for dinner and added relish for my "crunchy" veggies because that was what I had. These come the closest of any keto ones I've tried to the old saltine ones that mom made when I was growing up.
Watched your video yesterday and made the salmon "croquettes" for dinner. Best I have ever made. Your recipe and tips made the difference. Thank you so much!
Favorite in the south. Canned salmon is what food banks give away in Alaska. My husband loves these things, I guess ill break down and make him some.....using this recipe of course. Glad to see you're doing well, stay safe ❤
My friend, I gotta say it, I love your original recipes. I'm a loyal viewer and enjoy the recipe testing also, but you are one hell of a cook/creator all on your own. I want to see more of what you eat, because I know it's gonna be some delicious food.
I am so glad you did something like this. As you said, this is a great use-what-you've-got dish. That's perfect for times like these of limited grocery trips when what's in the pantry often decides dinner for many.
I was about to comment where's the cheese grits when u mentioned them! I soooo gotta make these! My grandkids love the regular kind. Not gonna tell them the next batch is keto! 😆 Love u my brother from another mother! 💜💋❤
Had to come here after seeing your crab cake video! I will have to leave out the bell pepper due to allergy, and I am carnivore so will sup pork panko for the almond flour. So much easier to used canned salmon instead of fresh crab! I would use butter and bacon fat to cook in a non stick pan - No seed oils! Hmm - wonder if I could use an airfryer or bake in the oven? Love the look on your face when you taste something yummy!
I'm going to cook some tonight. I have almond flour. My family always made them with cornbread and blackened seasoning, but I wanna try your recipe. Thank you! I hope you stay safe and healthy!
Oh man! I'm so making these for supper. I've loved these things all my life. Reminds me of Grandma's kitchen. Thank you so much! Love you to pieces. You're such a lifesaver ☺
I just made these last week, didn't see this video before then, but I made them almost exactly the same. They were delicious!! Thank you for bringing us these awesome recipes.
Hats off to you if you can make canned Salmon taste good. I have been really spoiled by fresh fish over the years. I have Canned Red Salmon from COSTCO in my pantry. If I need to , this is the recipe I will follow. Thanks
I’m from south Ga and we had these all the time. They are awesome! Now I’m going to have to call my mom and ask her why she hasn’t made them in forever. Good stuff!
Bacon grease works great! I usually don’t use it with fish because I love the taste of fish and the bacon flavor overpowers the delicate flavor of fish. But otherwise, bacon and lard would both work very well! :-)
That’s what is for dinner tomorrow along with a salad. Thanks for the recipe and reminding me I had a couple of cans of salmon in the pantry. Can’t wait.
Thanks for this recipe‼️. I’m 66 years old and salmon patties were one of my favorites as a child, of course what sides we had with the meal were mashed potatoes and green peas.......😜🤪🤣😂.
Late to the party, but what I need.

Yes!!!! So glad to find a low carb Salmon croquettes recipe that does not use pork rinds. Thank you!!!!
My mother always fried these in bacon grease. They were delicious!
That's what I was thinking!
Carole Stevens I do the same thing.
Plus, bacon grease is free!
That's exactly how I was thinking of making these today!
Bacon makes everything better!
I make salmon patties all the time,I just use ground up pork rinds, and eggs, salt and pepper..that's it,turn out perfect everytime.
approximately how much pork rinds (# of cups) do you use for a 14 oz can of salmon?
My mother, Texan, rolled the formed patties in oil, then bread crumbs and baked them in the oven. They were crispy and we ate them with lemon, ketchup, or tartar sauce. Yes to the mashed potatoes, and salad
Thank you Perfect Keto for supporting this channel. We LOVE him!

I haven't had these sense my grandma was alive. Granny used cheep tuna, celery, and onion with the normal stuff enough cayenne pepper to make it interesting.
Please show more "what I cook for dinner" videos. Thanks!

Have you ever ground up Pork Rinds to like bread crumb consistency and bread something with is like chicken breast or chops. turns out pretty good
That would be a good idea and save you a few carbs.
Pork King Good makes the BEST pork rinds and crumbs, IMHO. I am totally addicted to the Sour Cream and Onion.
mary ann Koedel I do use pork rinds alone and sometimes I mix it with a little almond flour for my breading. These work great.
Yes! I use them in my salmon patties, yum! 🤗
mary ann Koedel I don't eat pork so what could I use in place of pork rinds?
Southeast Texas born and raised, still live here. My Memaw and aunt made these all the time. Always one of my favorites! Will be trying this asap
We always used bacon grease to fry. We also used sour cream instead of mayonnaise. I’ve also made them with ground pork rinds in place of flour. Like you said all would work.
YES! I've been craving salmon patties, but wasn't sure if they could be ketofied, but once again you've surprised me with your ingenuity. Thank you!
I am a LLP so from the south and love bell pepper with salmon or crab. I also add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce that really helps the flavor.

I absolutely LOVE when you take a regulae recipe and convert it to low carb! thanks!!
How did you know I wanted salmon croquettes tomorrow? Thank you so much for another wonderful recipe AND for being a bright spot in my day. Keep safe and keep on cooking.
Sorry I'm 3 years late! Your modification is what I'm looking for.
I made a bunch of these several for my husband and I to eat...used the recipe on the can of salmon and altered it slightly for our taste. I've never eaten a crab cake as I'm not a fan of crab. I love your videos!

I use lard and peanut oil for frying things like this. Cheap, so I can use more if I want. And served them with asparagus (also from a can).

They're also good to have on Fridays during Lent, instead of always tuna! I have 2 cans so I'm make some this Friday.
I made these and these are my GO TO! I would seriously eat these if I wasn’t in Keto. So delish and makes you feel like you’re eating something with a crispy breading! 10/10 recommend!!!
Thanks, Kaylynne! Glad you like them!
First time seeing you make something that wasn't a "challenge". Thank you. My mom made those with mashed potatoes and peas. Not my favorite meal, but took me back to a wonderful time in my life. Thank you!!
You look so much better than your last video. I'm glad. Been worried about you. You are very much appreciated. Take care! And take care, everyone!
More than a few cans of salmon in the cupboard and I know what's for supper tonight. I have made (what we call) Crabby Patties using crushed pork rinds to lower the carb count even further and had lovely results. :)
I saute in an avocado/butter blend all the time. Butter flavour without burning.
Wow just Discovered this in December 2020 and they are delicious. My hack to this to it took it up a notch was to put Fat Snax Sea Salt crackers in my food processor and use instead of Almond flour. Non keto people loved it as well.
Thanks this was good. I added 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper. 325 degrees 2 mins per side
You're welcome, Kat! These bring back memories for me, too! ❤️
Could make with cauli Mac and Cheese!
Keto Tarter Sauce:
2 Cups Avocado Oil Mayo (I get the one from Costco, it's organic and has no other vegetable oil in it)
2 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice (add more to taste)
1 Tbsp Dry Dill Weed
1/2 Cup Minced Dill Pickles of your choice (most relishes have extra preservatives and stuff added so I just use pickles)
Mix everything together with a whisk and add sea salt to taste if it needs any.
Haha! I love this story!!
Thanks for this! Used this in my air fryer!
I make mine with two eggs, Old Bay, and Carbquik instead of almond flour. Can’t wait to try some variations!
What did you think?
@@RCThis since the first lockdown, I made them a lot of times, so I think I'm a fan 😉
@@Rocketscientist66 ❤️
Soooo good! I served mine with a teaspoon of avocado mayo sprinkled with Tabasco and a half of an avocado. Thank you! Perfect timing
I love that you're sharing your own every day recipes! Please do more videos like this! 👍🏼
made these tonight for supper. My wife raved about them. Thanks so much for the recipe!!! You Rock!!!
Great job Wes. They look delicious!!
Very nice! I like the versatility! I'll start making these by the dozens for a quick, healthy keto snack!
These looked awesome. I love the crispy little bits when they are super brown.
Great job! Brought back some great southern memories... love these "quarantine" episodes! Keep them coming if you can and stay safe!
So glad this recipe popped up… love these - a staple in any Saskatchewan home where I grew up. I like them dipped in a mayo aioli!
I am so glad you did something like this. As you said, this is a great use-what-you've-got dish. That's perfect for times like these of limited grocery trips when what's in the pantry often decides dinner for many.
We just picked up 8 cans of salmon from Sam’s Club a couple weeks ago. I will be making these today!
Wonderful! Let me know how they turn out! :-)
Highfalutin' Low Carb Hey so I made them and they were so good! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Perfect Keto are taking over every keto chanel!! Wish we could get them here in Cyprus!! Thanks for the great recipe x
This is right on time! I've been craving croquettes like my grandmother used to make!
I happen to have salmon in my pantry, so perfect timing!
:-) Let me know how they turn out!
5:40 that chuckle from you gave me the giggles😂 so funny. I will definitely try this recipe, looks delicious, thanks!
I was about to comment where's the cheese grits when u mentioned them!
I soooo gotta make these!
My grandkids love the regular kind. Not gonna tell them the next batch is keto! 😆
Love u my brother from another mother!
Thank you for this video just what I was looking for and what a gentle soul you are!
I'm going to cook some tonight. I have almond flour. My family always made them with cornbread and blackened seasoning, but I wanna try your recipe. Thank you! I hope you stay safe and healthy!
My mom for some unknown reason always served pinto beans when she made salmon patties when we were growing up. It does bring back memories!
Simple and easy to follow instructions. Plus, they look delicious!!! Will definitely try!!!
Thanks
THIS is tomorrow night's dinner! YAY! Any day that starts with Wes is a GREAT day!
I’m from south Ga and we had these all the time. They are awesome! Now I’m going to have to call my mom and ask her why she hasn’t made them in forever. Good stuff!
I still enjoy salmon croquettes. One of my grandmother's made them with Jack Mackerel too. The lemon juice is vital with the Mackerel IMHO.
You didn't mention bacon grease. I use it all the time. Actually makes fish taste good. We love you too, Wes.
Bacon grease works great! I usually don’t use it with fish because I love the taste of fish and the bacon flavor overpowers the delicate flavor of fish. But otherwise, bacon and lard would both work very well! :-)
@@HighfalutinLowCarb we eat a lot of sea cat which is pretty strong. Bacon grease tames the flavor a lot. You are my fav. Keto site.
I make these every week; I’ve also done it with sardines. They were OK though I prefer salmon.
used to make these all the time with my grandma! We used matza Meal in ours. Will make this with canned tuna this week!
