  • After mounting my seats the next step was to make a steering column to connect everything together. I show my process of how I mount the shafts and determine their lengths along with how many supports are needed to fully support a steering column. This was done as a safety precaution as factory steering columns can lock during racing applications. Since this is done I can move onto mounting the pedals.

I love it. I'm working on making a BMW rack work in my Mercedes right now. Those one off splined u-joints for specific manufactures are spendy for sure! I too got a 3/4" heim joint as a support. Who makes such a beefy quick connect for your wheel?

The quick connect is straight off Amazon. It was one of the cheapest that used a spring-loaded pull release. There is some play in the wheel when connected since it's not a spline. But it should be adequate for what I need.
