Red and Blue are reverse lights.
Black and Black/white at bottom are Park Neutral 10:20

I’m looking into doing a 5 speed swap to my 2000 xj

Nice. It’s an awesome swap. I love it

I know that I'm a pain, but I'm a stickler for perfection! 😉 Definitely replace your transmission mounts for the correct one. If you don't, you're going to experience continuous problems with driveshaft issues, bearings, etc. Lots of noise! I've been driving Xj's since 95. I currently own 2; a 94' manual, and a 95' automatic. I plan on building at least 3 more. I want one of each body style, from each generation, in both 4 wheel drive, and 2 wheel drive. Keep up what you're doing! They're getting hard to find!👍😉💪🇺🇸

I can’t remember the exact context of this video, but I do know I actually have the right transmission mounts. The actual bushings are the same between auto and manual, and mine were new anyways. And the brackets that go from the transmission to the bushing mount are already manual specific. Only difference is the crossmember wasn’t the same. The manual crossmember has a slight notch modeled into the crossmember that has the mounting plane sitting 0.75” lower relative to the auto crossmember. Without this 0.75” built in drop, the transmission won’t even fit and will hit the tunnel. To make up for this, I did 0.75” spacers between the crossmember and the unibody making the transfer case yoke drive axis in the exact same location as the manual, I actually measured this with a buddy’s manual XJ. So I know functionally they’re the same. Only noticeable difference would be the crossmember reducing ground clearance by 0.75”. The pinion angle was perfect, I had the right shims, no looseness in bushings, and no slop otherwise. I drove the Jeep in that condition for over a year with the crossmember and have hit 85 without even a touch of vibes, and been the the sand working the suspension hard in 4wd without issue. And either way, I got long arms a few months ago and have an entirely different crossmember and mount setup that is more rigid than factory. So in regards to you mentioning I should replace the mounts, they were already what they should be? It was just the crossmember that was different but adjusted to be functionally the same
Nice! I certainly want to keep a collection going too! I love all of the body styles. I want to pick up a 96 to keep stock

Dye think i need different starter if i do 32rh to ax15 swap?

Hmm I’m not sure. This for a TJ? I wasn’t aware of the XJ coming with a 32rh. As far as I can tell, the part numbers are the same. Though I’d confirm on AutoZone or something. Ask the tech or go on the website and look for a starter and see if the part number changes between manual and auto. I know for the AW4 and NV3550/AX-15 used the same starter

Definitely should do same gauge wire! The wire is already too small from the factory. That's one of the biggest problems with Jeeps. Not knocking you, just constructive criticism. 👍😉

Totally fair! Though for what it’s worth, two of those wires are only used to feed a relay toggle, so on the order of milliamps of current, and the other two are for reverse lights, which are LED, and also draw less than an amp. So I’m not terribly worried about current related issues. But I do want to beef them up down the line. A plan I have in the works is to replace the entire engine harness with a custom made, tucked one using Deutsch connectors and protective heat wrap, shrink wrap everywhere. I appreciate the input! Certainly in the works to phase out the old wiring

Wouldn't it just be easier to change out the ecm and wiring harness?

I don’t think so. Followed up in a later video, I did change the ECU and it was incredibly easy. But sourcing is difficult. And I’d argue the wire harness is more work than it’s worth in this position. Every pin is the same on the harness except for the reverse light wiring, lack of TCM, lack of extended idle, and CSS. To make it work seamlessly with the auto harness, all that needs to be done is the 4 easy splices. And the splices can be hidden very well if wanted
