Switching to LEDs for reverse lights is a good modification to make. As the reverse light switch ages, along with the wiring and socket, it will increase the resistance especially with conventional bulbs. LEDs will lighten the load.
Did this so long ago I kinda forgot about it for a spell. So glad it continues to help! And so glad there others in the world that live the same mantra “I’ve got more time than money” I think I’ll fix it myself! I appreciate y’all disregarding my cheezeball delivery as well.
Worked on my 97 Jeep Cherokee like a charm. Zero cost. Would have cost a small fortune if I took it to the shop. I did however have to adjust (rotate) the assembly ever so slightly before I bolted it tight to make sure the Jeep also started in neutral as well as Park. Thanks you so much.
How did you know it was my mom's jeep? Actually, it belonged to my stepdad but he is 4-wheelin in heaven now. Goodbye Jimmy, I love you and I miss you much. You were a real sweet dude!
Might have to try this on mine... I'm going to replace the bulbs first just to make sure they're not blown... I also have to rewire the entire hatch area since a lot of the wires are cut and I have no idea what any of them go to thankfully I found a wiring harness at the junkyard so it's just a matter of cut the old one out and match up the wires
Just curious, but the VIC is showing the tail light malfunction and my abs light on the dash is on. I’ve replaced the reverse light bulbs but still not working. Were circumstances similar on your jeep?
