I bought a bell housing for my AX-15, from deadjeeps on ebay and the bell housing arrived with a 3-inch long crack. Almost $300 cost, for junk. Luckily, I can weld aluminum. No shame. Beware.
I’d say it felt like a noticeable increase. Where the torque converter would make acceleration or torque feel “spongy”. This feels a lot more connected. My 4.10’s and 32’s end up feeling very similar to 3.55 and 29’s and I like it a whole lot.
I did this swap on my 97' XJ, during the last quarter of 2023. Just finishing wiring now. Also built my 4.0 L6 into a stroker, using a CJ7 258 crankshaft and added center section frame stiffeners too. I should have done this years ago. Such a worthwhile build. Go for it!!!
So i got all the parts needed from a guy selling them as a kit… i have the ecu and the harness for it but im confused on how to run said harness… i figured temporarily ill run my auto ecu with the manual till i figure that out
I'm currently doing this swap I'd love to have somewhere to message you if you have the time I'm currently installing pedals I'm deep in this conversion
I tried getting hold of you on instagram about getting a shift boot bezel printed but never got an answer back. Any luck with being able to get one? Thanks
I’m on instagram if you’re on there too. I can have those shipped ASAP. @xj_overlander if you have instagram. Otherwise we can figure out a different platform to send info
Shoot sorry I don't check my UA-cam as much as I should. Generally, no bus is from a poor connection at the dash, or the gauge module going bad. But it can also be from lack of ecu communication. Does the jeep start at all?
Thank you for the great info. I have two Jeeps. An XJ *94, WJ 2004. Taking a look at converting to manual on the 94 so now have a view as to parts. M
For sure! It’s not terrible to do. Finding the parts are the hardest, swap isn’t bad. Best of luck

Yep I hear that. I haven’t been happy
Great video. I’m considering the swap on my ‘97. Was it worth it? I was looking forward to more torque with my 3.55 gears
