Why I like the sims 3: one of my sim could work out at the gym, while another is drinking at bar, while another could write a novel at home, while another could gardening. And I don't have to wait for the loading screen everytime I want to change the sim.
I have literally two reasons why I like the sims 3: 1. they do what I tell them to do when I tell them to do it 2. the children come home and do their homework on their own
@@lemmy6465 1. MCCC - general purpose mod basically, it's like cheats but on steroids. It helps with customizing certain aspects of the gameplay to your liking 2. Have Some Personality Please - improves autonomy, makes sims act more like their traits 3. Meaningful Stories - makes the emotion system more realistic, which also makes it slightly more difficult 4. Wonderful Whims - attraction system, personality archetypes, menstrual cycles, birth control, STDs. There's also the Woohoo Wellness mod which is similar but I haven't used it yet but I heard it's also really good 5. Memory Panel - keeps track of memories/important events in your sim's life There's loads of them but personally this is just my top 5. If you can't figure out what other mods to download, I'd suggest to just keep playing and if at one point you thought "hmm I wish I can do this thing in this game" then try to google if a mod for it exists and usually it does... that's how I got almost 100 mods downloaded lol
I would say that the open world in the sims 3 always immersed me for hours as well and the sims 4 without an open world, feels like many steps back from its predecessor. I always enjoy open word games since I just get sucked into another dimension when I play the game and never get bored. In fact, when I play the sims 3, I play for hours and only stop when I fall asleep due to tiredness. In the sims 4, I sometimes play for 1 hour and then feel like I wasted my time and then not play again for a few months or a year.
@@ashanticlarke3891 indeed, the sims 4 is only really worth coming back for me whenever there is a new mod released or new scenario to play, otherwise, I get bored with it in just a few minutes or an hour.
@@ashanticlarke3891 agreed, in the sims 4, the mods also break all the time due to not being updated so it ruins my whole experince and immersion so I quit. I’ve never played a game as broken as the sims 4 in my whole life. At least the other games in the sims franchise are playable without bumping into game breaking bugs everyday and can be fixed with mods.
same here! sims 2 isn't so bad for me, because of the way the world's are set up and the simple charm of the day, but sims 3s open world and sims medieval are the end all be all for me. unless they do open world again I don't have any interest in a new sims game. I regret all the money I've spent on sims 4 just because it was "brand new and up to date". the experience is simply lack luster!!!
The Sims 3 smooth patch mod has really transformed the game and got me back into playing regularly. No lagging, super quick loading times for saves and CAS, even with many EPs and CC installed. I highly recommend for anyone playing on Windows to give it a try!
Woah, thanks for the info. I actually just downloaded the free base TS4 game from steam and do some "tweak" (I have on off relationship with TS). Now, I kinda want to play TS3 instead after reading this T_T.
I’m going to have to try this! I’ve gotten back into playing the Sims 3 and it just feels so much better than 4. I like 4 but as far as development comes it feels more like 2.5.
I completely agree with the careers. In Sims 3 you had actual jobs. In Sims 4 it's like a weird power fantasy. Too many crazy jobs like spy and astronaut. Which sound cool but are really barebones jobs. To become a spy or astronaut in Sims 3 you had to work to the top of said careers.
I'm glad I'm not the only person. Even within the power fantasy jobs, I hate that the astronaut career splits to a space ranger or a space smuggler. At that point, I just want a high ranking astronaut, not Buzz Lightyear or Han Solo
I've tried and failed to get into 4. I can't stop playing 3. Only advantage of 4 that I can think of is that you're less likely to get addicted and thus ruin your life.
In my case, back in 2012, I got so addicted to the sims 3, that my mother forced me to uninstall it from the computer or else there would be very harsh consequences. After that, I had to play it secretly or when I got my own computer one day, but only many years later.
I spent a lot of time in Sims 3 built a house started a family and so on. Never got bored playing the game there was a lot of freedom to explore and go pretty much anywhere. Sims 4 only improved the graphics and loading screens everywhere.
@@martian_citizen and there's no point to university or city living packs in Sims 4 because if you take your sims out for a drink at the bar you have to be willing to sit through a 20 minute loading screen to get there and then another 20 minute loading screen to go home. And the whole time you're at the bar you have to watch the NPCs be incredibly dull and boring or if you're taking a group out for dinner you have to watch them sit scattered around the restaurant at different tables while you desperately try to force them to sit together and just talk like regular human beings. There's no point, it's not fun or enjoyable so you just end up not going out at all. No wonder people are calling it a dollhouse game.
The thing that I love about TS3 is that even after you max out a skill you still have challenges to work towards. And these challenges aren't just a badge saying you did it but it actually affects your sim.
like making a plumbot, is so fun to create plumbots on TS3 with all the recolecting and studying and all the things from future expansion, but in TS4 is so painfuly slow, so much goddamn time and effort, for just another sim with no difference from a normal one
What I strongly dislike in Sims 4 is if I have my sim, who lives in Willow Creek, go to a bar in Willow Creek it will be full of people from Del Sol Valley, Brindleton Bay, or even the worlds that look nothing like Willow Creek like Oasis Springs or Mt. Komerebi. Like, what are y’all doing here? How far did y’all have to travel to get to this lackluster bar with a completely different climate? It really breaks my immersion.
It’s almost worse with the neighbourhood stories allowing sims to move out - random townies moving into forgotten hollow and vlad decides he would love to live in SULANI. Luckily you can turn off certain neighbourhood stories aspects
The sims 3 is unparalleled! I genuinely struggle with the idea that anyone who prefers sims 4 has even played sims 3. I’m playing it right now and the level of detail in the traits is insane. My neat sims walks into the room and there’s dirty dishes on the floor he instantly get the want to wash the dishes and/or clean the house. And he also wants to take baths whenever he can even when his hygiene is almost full. The “trait incompatibility” or “talk about shared traits” actions a sims gets the instant they learn about another sims traits *chef’s kiss*
i love to "make silly face" at sims I meet to see if they have "no sense of humour" haha also I love that two evil sims can mastermind plot together, but a good sim will instead dislike the evil sim and refuse haha
Omg the no sense of humour trait is the bane of my sims existence! My good sim just wanted to meet a guy she met on the online dating service but they met and discovered he’s evil and they spent the party arguing with each other lol
@@beccaf262 honestly that sounds hilarious, sometimes making an enemy can be just as fun. my sims 2 sim keeps going on bad dates and they keep leaving flaming dog poop at her doorstep
I also struggle with the fact that the general consensus seems to be that one of the only things the sims 4 has going for it is the graphics. I think that was also a step down. Leas realistic more pixel and cartoony... and if people like that better great but i don't know if that means better than sims 3 graphics
Fun fact! Traits in Sims 3 determine where your Sims will go. So if you create a loner they will not want to leave the house often. If you make a foodie, they'll go to the restaurant/diner a lot. With workout Sims they'll be at the gym more than other community lots. Art/music Sims will go to the theater and stuff. Certain lot types are avoided by certain traits. So you won't always have the same Sims at every single lot like in Sims 4. Where you have Judith Ward and Nancy Landgraab at the gym, restaurant, bar, nightclub, park, retail, pool, generic, residential, etc.
thisss I wish EA would give an overall update to the personality and small quirqs that come with how sims act in the whole worlds. It feels like townies do nothing their stories never progress. traits almost make no difference. no cute little details and no fleshed out backround play. :(
i also like sims 3 better because of the vacation, with sims 3 you can actually explore; hidden area, lore, treasure, puzzle to get that treasure, etc. and you can also buy stuff that are EXCLUSIVE in that vacation world. i remember just being addicted to collecting all the treasure and the puzzle made it SO fun. you can also do a well balance with your sims in sims 3 cause they actually do what you told them to do, no pause or lag and will do stuff you actually WANT them to do! unlike sims 4 where sims would stop their action mid way..
@@eBunnee nah( I had hopes too. But since in the last "behind the sims" we were presented than Renee is not Sims5 but the side project mostly built as mmoRpg or gensin impact, if you like - free to play lootbox online game.. and sims4 will be continued to forever with dlc and packs. I feel that is such a bad move! Sims4 is already an old game. And its graphics and overall impression of sims behavior is very controversial. And instead of getting us a new game. With new balance, new ideas, new lore, new OPEN WORLD (khm, sorry) - they give us "sims4 will be continued". 10 years! 10 years passed and all they can do - still adding old features through pricey dlc from the old sims2 and 3 games. Toddlers! Werewolves! Horses! (and no cars..) though, building system got what it should before - platforms, stairs, moving rooms and all house on the lot - is great. It is the only thing from sims4 that I miss in sims3.
Something I noticed during this video is the adverts for Sims 3 games actually show things you can do in the game. With Sims 4 adverts they’re pretty much all fabricated and you can’t do the things it shows.
@@kiillabytez no, really. most ts3 ads are just actual interesting gameplay showing new things you can do. td4 ones are more like made up scenarios that wont actually be fun to play and are just there for the purpose of the video
My problem with The Sims 4 is how, no matter which traits you choose or lifestyle you take, all sims i make are all joyfull smiling sociable goofs, if i want to create a sim like Raven from Teen Titans or less jolly like myself, i can't. The sims from 4 seem to come from We Happy Few. In The Sims 3 there is more freedom to do a gloomy character or someone who is happy to explore alone.
@@mummytrolls And those aren't real moodlets, they're seen as ill statuses that must be prevented or removed to proceed, i made a painter and the sad moodlet says it gives creativity (i think) but as soon as it appears it's all "do something to cheer him up quickly".
I abandoned TS4 for TS2 a long while ago, but this video made me remember how much I loved Sims 3 for many of these exact reasons, so I think I'll be loading up here soon...
The thing that most annoys me about Sims 4 are the simmer influencers that think the game is perfect, just because EA pays their bills. But the game is a really expensive shame and they don't care.
There's a reason EA stopped selling the Sims 2 when they released the sims 4. if the people who think the sims 4 is the best game in the series could go back and play the sims 2, it would rock their world.
@@blueghost4769 if they didn't want to make a wheel they could have made a slider for warm tones and a slider for cool tones. It's not that hard. I don't understand why they have to make things so complicated it's weird. Hard to believe there are hundreds of people behind this game
I miss finishing the work and walking back at home, meeting a friend and all of a sudden going out to eat with him and have a good time. I miss so much the open world, the story progression and the fact that every single Sim has a daily life.
I would say that I really enjoy the open world and story progression since each sim in the world that one plays in has their own life, their own relationships, and even their own issues to deal with. One can also sometimes see them fight with their enemies when they are around eachother as well as flirt with their love interests. The sims 3 is full of drama and surprises all the time and it’s always nice to jump into other households to see what’s going on from another perspective.
That was the problem for me. Too much open world and incessant traveling to damned rabbit holes that really have no effect on the game other than to tell you you did SOMETHING there.
To add onto the trait point: with University, you can have SEVEN traits! (5 base, +1 for finishing a degree/buying the reward trait for a degree, +1 for reaching a certain level in a social group) Like- holy guacamole, with a lil work your sim can be SO unique! Seriously, like discounting all the reward traits you can get(alluring, eye candy, stone hearted, not really personality traits but things that affect gameplay which differentiates sims), it’s amazing!
Only 10? Great video Rekowcski! The main reason I prefer TS3 is because it's actually fun to play. For all the new tools and fancy graphics, TS4 is a boring game to play. It's that simple.
Thank you and I completely agree... I basically just sat down and tried to figure out WHY it's so much more fun. Many points were cut, we could always do pt 2
Agreed, In the sims 3, the building and cas tools are more intuitive, but I would say that aside from the color wheel and create a style being gone, the actual gameplay feels empty and hollow without much substance and the characters don’t truly feel unique or alive and one runs out of things to do eventually in that game.
Sims 3 graphics aren't even bad and are easy to make better with a default skin replacement, default hair replacement, lighting overhaul, default eye replacement, and UI overhaul if you want to change up the UI. Even just 4 or 5 mods like that plus a mod or two for performance makes the game dramatically better.
It took me as an 'older' simmer a long time to make the change from sims 2 to sims 3. But once I did, I never regretted it. The open world aspect added so much new life to the game that I loved it after only a week of playing. I have tried liking the sims 4, but it just feels like such a step back from sims 3, and even from sims 2. It's like EA completely forgot what the game is even about. I'll just continue playing sims 3, and watching video's about it!
Sims 2 even though not open world still outranks sims 4. Sims 2 was one I thought the sims were far more capable of doing things on their own, even over sims 3. I kicked myself for getting rid of sims 2 but I love sims 3. I have sims 4 and some expansions but I hardly ever play it.
One of my favorite interactions in the sims 3; I had a witch sim who married one of the witch townies in the Supernatural world. Sometime later I decided that inviting the sister-in-law to live with us would be a good idea and would not lead to ANY drama...(I was young and in a healthy home environment so) Christmas comes around with and the wife is with the third child (she gave birth to twins the first time, teens by then). Im off with one of the teens and all of sudden "[Wife] Caught [Sim] kissing [Sister-in-law]" After a panicked look around, Sister-in-law cast a love spell on my sim. By Spring they were divorced. To Add to the spiciness, my sim was a teacher who got one of those 'extra-work' assignments to tutor a student after school. Turned out it was his child who he never met cause the wife moved out (i.e. I kicked here out, and the SIL) before she could give birth... Couldn't finish that story line because I stumbled into the World Adventures Bug.... This all happened without my direct intervention. Only things I did was 'SIL moves in' and 'WIfe and SIL move out' Have yet to have a similar experience in the Sims 4....
I never actually started Sims 4, I stopped at Sims 3. I watched the trailers for 4 and didn’t like the look of it & considering how expensive Simming was getting, I figured I may as well get all my money’s worth out of 3 😂 now that I’ve seen this video, I’m rather glad I stuck to Sims3. Haven’t actually played in a year or two, but now I’m feeling like getting back into it! 😁
I've played 4 and I have a fair bit of DLC for 4. 4 isn't bad if you don't consider how expensive it is and how it looks compared to the games before it. You're best off to just stick with 3.
Sims 4 is nice for creating beautiful homes and sims for challenges, but Sims 3 and 2 is what you want to play if you actually want to play a game and simulate life. And you don't need to come up with challenges to make them playable with all the packs installed.
And sims 4 is great for occults and better looking sims lol, sims 3 has pudding face. However I want the base gameplay with more story, lore, and personality of the sims 3.
I am one of those who likes building homes and making sims rather than play them, and I had the thought that everyone that hates sims 4 just doesn't want to accept change, but maybe it's because I don't play the game and I use the game for my creative immersion. The houses in sims 4 is so good, although the option in 3 that I just saw is very intriguing, but the 4 lighting is amazing, and I can't wait for the 5th one, I heard they are doing something with the lighting and it sure look even better
I prefer the look of sims 3 sims to those of other games. I use custom skin, hair and eyes, but tbh the only thing I couldn't play without is cc hair. Other than that, sims can look beautiful. It's just a matter of knowing what you're doing in CAS.
@@envy2069 i use the ephemera fresh skin as default, default eyebrow replacements by simplelife and eyelashes from s-club. That and replacement eyes makes a huge difference (although I forgot which eyes I have rn)
Really? The graphics for the clothes are shit in the Sims 3. After playing the sims 4 for five years, I went back to the sims 3 to make a house for my mom, and for fun went looking through all my clothes for toddlers. The graphics suck, you can't even make them out half-time.
Sims 3 is just too good. I've played Sims since 2004, Love sims urbz, castaway, sims 2, bustin out, but I cannot get into sims 4 no matter how many times I try. TS3 is honestly so perfect, I still enjoy it 13 years later
Same, I started playing 11 years ago when I was 12! I only got the last two dlc’s recently and can’t wait to obsess over my sims families and their wacky lives 🤩
SAME. I have literally 8950 hours in Sims 3, have been playing for 13 years, and have found new things in the past few months! Like I only recently discovered that cakes can catch fire because out of nowhere it kept happening to me.
Sims 3 is so nostalgic and classic. I love the architecture and the freedom you have to customize as you wish. I love the story lines. I love that there are endless adventures to go on in the expansion packs. With Sims 4, I spend a majority of my time playing in custom content. Then I get bored and not play the game for months at a time.
Can i just mention how much i appreciate your editing? youtube recommended me this vid and man, I finally don't regret clicking on one for once. you don't scream into the microphone, the video isn't overly edited, minimal sound effects added.. thank you, I hate when my senses are bombarded with attention grabbing edits every 3 seconds.
I used to get my wine making and gardening all the way to the max. Then I’d make the highest quality and most expensive wines and age them for generations. I would have multiple stories underground of wine cellars, it was the best. Also, I loved getting metals and smelting them into bars and creating a vault underground. God I miss Sims 3.
I would argue Sims 3 has *the* best expansion packs of all the Sims franchise. I have been playing World Adventures a lot lately---more than I really tried it before---and it is amazing. I love explorting different tombs around the world, collecting different types of treasure and becoming a Nicholas Cage-tier treasure hunter, showing off all my riches in a dedicated room in my mansion at the edge of Sunset Vallet. It's just *chef's kiss*. I have started going steadily through each EP to truly experience what each one offers individually, and as mentioned before, I am only on World Adventures. But I am gonna do Ambitions next. I am so excited for the detective career because I have barely played it. But from what I have played, you can do stakeouts and interrogate people, so the potential for story telling is immense. I love Sims 3 and I stand by it probably being my favorite game of all time, not to exclude the Sims Medieval
I cannot play without Ambitions. I just love the inventing skill and what you can do with it. My go to profession from Ambitions is definitely ghost buster lol.
@@ElvisLivesUpstairs please let me know your secrets. I have ErrorTrap and Overwatch, and I just downloaded Lazy Duchess' smoothness patch, so CAS works a lot smoother. The only issue is that when I load the game with all packs, it's stuttery and laggy. Not unplayable, but really annoying. What mods do you use to make the game run smoother?
Omg yes!!! I absolutely love the game mechanic of exploring tombs and pyramids! I was expecting something similar in sims 4 which led to my disappointment.
I have given up on TS4 honestly gameplay wise a very long time ago and building wise just recently. I reinstalled TS3 and started renovating Sunset Valley and Twinbrook and to my surprise I did not feel limited at all with the building tools coming back from TS4. With TS3 I was able to make such unique looking buildings with walk out basement (walls intersecting with the foundation) and the amount of customization I had with Create A Style was just unfathomable. TS4 helped me a lot with discovering my build style and practicing building. TS3 is way more complex but now I feel like I'm professional at what I do in TS3 and the houses look very realistic.
I stopped playing sims 4 before University came out. The packs felt boring and repetitive. For example, I got the Realm of Magic pack and I play with it. I managed to maxed out the spell casting and brewing skill in about 2 hours. After that I got bored as heck and stop playing.
It is neat to see people coming back to 3. Also kind of gratifying, since I never made the "upgrade" to 4. I always figured 3 would remain the more advanced game. I just never understood the whole selling point of 4 being the new emotions, as if such a mediocre advancement was supposed to compensate for the loss of open worlds.
When TS3 came out, it was clear that they wanted to evolve the franchise, go one step further! However TS4 feels like TS1 but with better graphics and easy mode.
I genuinely still play Sims 3 to this day, I barely touch Sims 4 like once every two years or so and didn't bother buying any expansion pack while I have every Sims 3 expansion because it's worth it. That game will always be superior to me, there is SO MUCH you can do with it. You're never bored. AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY ALL FAMILY MEMBERS AT THE SAME TIME, you don't need to forget about your kids while mom is meeting her friends somewhere else, you can just have everyone at a different place at the same time and switch between them!! Also, the fact you can just switch aspirations in Sims 4 always seemed... off to me. What do you mean I can basically complete every aspiration I want with every Sim? So they're all the same person really?
I would say that since the sims 3 for the pc can have mods, it’s not hard to make an attractive sim after downloading some aesthetic mods like custom skin, eyes and sliders, as well as lots of clothes. I’ve made truly beautiful sims in this game without the “potato” or “pudding” face as well. There have also been mods made that create game-generated characters with different facial features so they won’t have pudding face as much and feel more unique.
@@Aaine784 agreed, sliders made my sims more unique and also with more ideal faces in my opinion. In the sims 4, there are also sliders but to be honest, I would rather deal with a game a less polished art style with fantastic gameplay and just improve it myself than just deal with a good art style with bland gameplay.
I don't even use custom skintones or default-replacement stuff, just vanilla assets and some custom hairstyles, and I can make sims I'm very satisfied with and regularly fawn over them. It's absolutely possible, you just have to practice.
Sims 3: All towns/neighborhoods are available, cars are usable, Realistic events (burglars, Job + Skill Opportunities, town events), and grocery store and bookstore functionality. Sims 4: Missed opportunities and the lack of features based by the Sim's trait
I remember the trait system in Sims 3. I'm not sure if mine glitched at one point, but i made a character with the worst traits like anger, sad, rage and so on. I remember he went out and never came back, when i went looking for him, he was sitting in a park or something close to it away from home. He wouldn't respond to anything, no commands, no reactions of any sort. His hunger, thirst, tiredness etc kept dropping and because he sat there for days, he died. I used to edit so much with the customisation in sims 3, it was such a huge upgrade changing every colour to the walls, furnature and so on. I've not heard anything good about sims 4, more like a step back than a step forward. I'm glad i never got it, even when it ended up being free.
I actually like the cartoony look and aesthetics of the sims 4 (both sims and objects). I also think their toddlers are cuter in TS4 than TS3, but that is where my interest in the game ends.
I like the look of TS4 too, in fact I prefer it, cuz in a way it's kinda symbolic with the concept of the game itself. The graphics have an idyllic look and feel to them, which complements the fact that You the player are creating your own perfect little world. So I feel the graphics go hand-in-hand with that perfect world concept. At least that's how i see it. 😅
@@desertrose1226 - I wouldn't have minded that at all except for the fact that there is so little to do in that game. If I feel like looking at The Sims 4 graphics, I wouldn't even have to download and install the game. All I would need to do is just look at screenshots and video that other people post to the internet.
I liked the fact that toddlers are in the Sims 2 and Sims 3 base game at launch. In Sims 4 toddlers were added after 3 years. Considering the fact that Sims 1, Sims 2 and Sims 3 only had 4 years of content.
This is honestly so true, Sims 3 is the first Sims game I ever played and after getting the controls figured out I literally played for hours without realizing. A few days ago I got sims 4 when it became free and I was so excited, only to be let down. The controls took a very long time to get used to especially in building however I do like the camera alot more than the Sims 3 camera. I finally got a house built and didn't really know what to do after that, idk if it's the fact that in sims 3 opportunities jump at you almost right away but I definitely like it better than the Sims 4.
It took so long for Sims 3 to open, but then it played well. I know when I play Sims 3 my families are going to be there, unlike in Sims 4 where they lost my vampire family when I didn't play for several years.
The limited lots in the Sims 4 is so “ugh.” There’s not many places to go. Even Sims 2 Nightlife had a variety of places to go. Sims 3 for the win! So much to do in the sims 3. Beautiful lots. Interesting sims. The amount of stories you could tell are truly endless.
Newcrest is the most gorgeous sims 4 world ever (haha), but other than that I only like Strangerville. And it's got maybe 10 or 11 lots? I can't remember, but it's definitely a "bigger" sims 4 world. But I always end up having to "add on" a world for the rest of the lots I need and i really do prefer in Sims 2 and 3 only having a set area, but there are still a hundred lots
I left the house more in the Sims 3 because of the open world. My sims in 3 actually interact with each other in and outside my household much more with each other than in 4. Most of the time I have to make them talk to each other or else they just play on their pc or stand there looking goofy. It was really nice that NPC sims were able to connect with other sims and your own sims. Sims 4 doesn't really have that. You have to switch households to build up relationships and reproduce. I like both but 2 and 3 are superior in my opinion. Edit: I just remembered that recently they added in encouraging more babies to be made and for sims to spend more time with others. Why wasn't that added in day one?
I like the open world because I always end up with 6-8 sims, and I like that 2 can be at school, 1 at work, 1 at the park, 1 grocery shopping and 1 cleaning the house all at the same time
And the sims 4 also has the problem where after if random sims interact you would think they would have a relationship but when you switch to their household, they don't know anybody.
I would say that since none of my computers could run sims 3 optimized for many years since 2012 or 2013, I could only play the sims 4. However, I never could play the sims 4 for too long without making it extremely crazy with mods and messed up and then feeling awful and strange and stop playing for a few months. In the sims 3, even without mods and even without me adding extreme chaos, it feels more alive and more engaging than the sims 4 and even playing normally in a family-style gameplay is pleasant in the sims 3. When some mods like the smooth patch were made, I finally got to play the sims 3 again after nearly 10 years. I would say that I hope that this excellent game becomes more accessible to even more people in the coming years.
Sims 2 and 3 were *LIT* lol, I could spend hours upon hours on those games. Sims 4 I get bored after an hour or less now. I'm still on my break from it, I can't be bothered to turn it on or update my mods lmfao.
Another thing that Sims 3 did better than Sims 4 is diving, I love swimming/diving and sims in Sims 3 can have a holding-breath contest underwater or can actually SCUBA dive with underwater view in Island Paradise! With some Nraas magic, you can make them freedive (change their clothes after they submerged), good for screenshots/video clips.
The customization, the ability to add/remove lots, new worlds, and the gameplay is why I enjoy Sims 3 so much. I also think Sims 3 has the best DLC'S to date and they flesh out each life stage pretty well. Plus, I love the open worlds, neighborhoods, houseboats and of course cars. They also stepped out the box with certain packs like World Adventures and Into the Future. It was a true life simulation game, where Sims 4 has become a building simulation game with lackluster, mediocre gameplay.
World adventures is such a great pack!!! The level of detail that went into the tombs is so incredible. You can truly spend hours exploring some of them. It’s my favorite pack to play 😊 And with mods you can add custom vacation worlds so it’s just like bon voyage in TS2 🎉
Sims 3 has my whole heart! I started playing The Sims 1 and when I found out there were 2 and 3 had just come out back then I skipped 2 and went straight to 3! Even tho lots of people complain about the game problems with crashing out and lagging I always tried to learn the tricks to make it run better and used to have the best time playing it for hours!! I have The sims 4 but the game is a shame compared to the previous ones I can’t stand playing for more than a hour that I get bored 🤡
Aaah yes, my favorite indulgence, feeling superior for playing TS3 x) I'm not even being sarcastic, it's genuinely a guilty pleasure of mine (x I agree with the point about TS3 sims being "ugly", beauty standards are just off the rails these days. Yeah, townies in particular aren't always supermodels, but a) have you been outside ? and b) it makes it all the more special when you find a good-looking towny ^^
I find it super weird that in a life simulation game people complain about mediocre-looking people looking ugly. Like, that's just real-life, most people look mediocre, and a few people are particularly good or bad looking.
The most annoying thing that I ever experienced with Sims 4 CC was that if I download a hairstyle, I have to download MORE color swatches if I find out that I can’t get the exact color I need. In Sims 3 all I needed to do was download the style and just use the color wheel. I could be wrong but I feel like downloading a whole bunch of color swatches for hairstyles in Sims 4 would totally bloat the CC file??
ALL THEY HAD TO DO, is freaking merge sims 3 gameplay/customizations and sims 4 quality 😭 they didnt even have to come up with something completely new. They couldve just merged all the thingss we love. This was easy, but im now convinced that they dgaf about players. We need to protest 😂
I always try to get into the sims 4 every time there’s a big update, but to me, I can only go 5 minutes without quitting and booting up Sims 3. Why they decided to strip every revolutionary feature of The Sims 3 base game out of 4, baffles me 8 years on…
One thing that made me really upset when I played the sims 4 was how lacking the skill system was compared to the sims 3. In the sims 3, each skill had milestone that could unlock unique perks for each skill which made getting to level 10 in a skill no longer the end all be all. I was so confused when I booted up the sims 4 and the milestone system was gone for a watered down skill system that left so much to be desired.
Ayeee. I had played sims 3 since it launched. And quickly bought the sims 4 launch date. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who saw the lack of potential in the sims 4. I remember when I first saw the trailers and breakdowns I was so excited about the sims 4, but when it came to getting into the game it was so shallow and surface level. Started playing the sims 3 last week, instant addiction and wasting to much time. Ahhh good times 😂
I agree with everything you’ve said in this video. Except I’ve never played sims 3 with mods, the idea sounds daunting to figure out. That being said, sims 3 is always one of those games I can go back to after years even though it’s completely vanilla. And I often play with the whole world, not just one family. I bounce around in households and create life progression and drama for the whole world. I can’t play the sims four at all because it’s so limiting by comparison.
Literally the only 2 things I can say are better in sims 4: -Ability to run smoothly or fast even with lower-end PCs -Build and Buy mechanics I still prefer sims 3 overall though, it’s always been my favorite.
I need something like this about the sims 3 and 2. Maybe a "10 things you need to know before playing sims 2 after 3", like you already did with 3 and 4
Sims 2 more cares about details. Like pizza delivery and eating it (Sim takes slices and they disappear! from the box respectively). And fear system works better than in SIms 4 (and there is none in Sims 3)
I prefer Sims 4 for the 100 baby challenge but prefer Sims 3 overall. Hear me out: I tried the 100 baby challenge in Sims 3 and it is very difficult to get my sims to get to their kids for resolving needs and skills. I've used an entire evening getting them to pick up and give one kid a bath. The other difficulty? I get too wrapped up in my kids lives in Sims 3! My first attempt I was on kid 7 and couldn't bear sending the kids off and raising another crop. My oldest was sneaking out to rebel rallies with her boyfriend and they moved in together next door after high school and I wanted to take 2 & 3 to college together. My second attempt I got to kid 12 or 13 but once again the kids were so fun to develop as they were growing up that I wanted to see more and not move on. Sims 4 is less glitchy, more compact, and shallow enough in its content that cranking out kids doesn't make me feel like I'm missing out on the experience of doing other things in the game lol.
Sims 3 is hands down the best Sims game ever! I will say though that the Sims 4 has some unbelievably awesome mods but, the mods can't even save it. I loved Sims 3 World Adventures and collecting wine for my wine cellar and being so rich I could own several houses! These features were so fun! Sims 4 lacks the charm that all the other games had.
I grew up poor and never got to play the sims until 2020 when I had adult money and it was on sale. So I never played the sims 3. yet this video made me nostalgic for it... I really wanna play it now...
I much prefer the CAS in Sims 3 to Sims 4 - not only is 4’s lack of color wheel and customization annoying, but the push/pull system is clunky and hard to get exactly right. The sliders in 3 allow for more subtle changes, and the number of them you get for facial features is impressive! I also appreciate the way different traits sometimes interact; it makes their personalities feel more unique and fleshed out. One other thing which I rarely see mentioned is the humorous writing: often the written descriptions of things that have happened are really funny; also the descriptions for build/buy items and clothing pieces can be hilarious. It’s obvious that their writers were having a lot of fun, which holds true for the first two Sims games as well. The writing in 4 is more serviceable; sometimes they’ll throw in a pop culture reference or something but every attempt at humor feels forced as if the writers don’t have a sense of humor. It’s sad, and it adds to 4’s lack of goodness, in my opinion.
Yes, totally agree about the sliders! They absolutely allow for more subtle changes and the number of them is amazing. I’ve never known how to word my appreciation for them compared to the Sims 4 system but this is an excellent way of putting it!
Sims 3 had so many things to do that you could play for years and you could still find new things. Sims 4 on the otherhand... You would probably find everything in a few months of playing even with all packs installed.
Brntwaffles is amazing! I loved playing with her lighting mods. I found out about them like last year. I never realized how dark the game was until I played Sims 4 then I went back. But I like how gritty you can make the world in Sims 3
I used to spend hours upon hours playing The Sims 3, the freedom to fully wander around, explore and interact with all the other sims in the area was a massive improvement to the sims 1 and 2. At last my sims felt free, they could jump in their car (or on their bike) ride in to town to visit the library, go shopping, go to work, open their own store etc all without having to stare at a loading screen for a few minutes. For years I was a happy Simmer. Then along came the news of the Sims 4, I almost bounced out of my chair with excitement, how could they improve on something that was almost perfect? Would they make the world even bigger? I was imagining a full Sims World with thousands of other players. How could they improve traits, needs, desires, social interactions..... How would they improve the character creation. Would we finally be able watch our Sims building their very first home? As you can tell, I had some pretty wild hopes for what they would bring with the brand new Sims 4.... And then came the slow trickle of what the game play looked like. At first I didn't want to believe it, it felt as though they'd taken everything good from The Sims 3 and just chucked it in the trash. Gone was the open world style game play. Want to nip down to the shop (loading screen), meet a fellow sim in a bar or cafe (loading screen), go to work (loading screen), go to the park for a game of chess or a quick jog (loading screen). You couldn't even visit your next door neighbor without being hit by yet another loading screen. To say I was dissappointed would have been an understatement, The Sims had progressed so so much from The Sims 1 through to The Sims 3 and now it felt like they had just scrapped all of that progression and basically regressed back to The Sims 1 but with shiny new graphics. Yes I bought it when it came out, yes I played it (well tried too). I spent about a week trying to get used to having to watch loading screen after loading screen (trust me, you soon get bored staying in one place all the time). When I played The Sims 3, six hours felt like 30 minutes. Playing The Sims 4, 30 minutes felt like six hours. I stopped playing The Sims 4 one week after installing it, one month later I uninstalled it and haven't played it since. Has it improved since it first came out? It probably has, but if I got fed up with all the loading screens when it wsa just The Sims 4 with no expansion packs, how many loading screens would I have to sit through with all the releases up to date? And finally (If you've read this far have a free cookie 🍪) We have news that they are working on The Sims 5, my excitement is ZERO, I've seen the headlines and that's about it. Oh yeah, apparently there's some sort of news about a work in progress ganeplay leak or something like that. Even if they fixed everything that was wrong, went back to an open world system etc, I still wouldn't be interested. To alll the old Developers at Maxis... Thank you, Thank you and Thankyou for giving me years (if not decades) of enjoyment. To all the new Developers at EA... What were you thinking?
Every word - I feel it same bro. As a child of 90s I've followed every Sims and dlc from Sims1 Livin Large up to Sims 4. And it was the greatest ever regret and failure of the game franchise. I even liked Medieval (though laggy as hell and overall "stillborn child" of Sims). I have plumbob flashdrive (2gb lol) near my pc at all times from Sims 3 pre-order. (Still love Sims1 and Sims3 over Sims2, btw) I couldn't possibly imagine the LEAP backwards from the open world, collections, massive dlc's with a ton things to do, active careers, adventure vacation quests and etc and etc.. So it's still a kind of trauma from me. Why? Was there any real reason to go back from open world (which worked on old systems and old pc parts! even with lags)? Instead of updating their source to work with multicore processors and video cards TO KEEP open world and make it better, bigger, smoother? They just trowed it in garbage to give us neighborhoods in size of Sims1... And sweetie-dolly faces with plastic wigs. Lazy. Greedy. and just sad move. I do watch lilsimsie, dr. gluon, james turner and others to play Sims4 but I care only about streamers and their emotions/perception/ideas for roleplaying stories of their sims. I start Sims4 once in a while to build smth but I don't play with sims themselves. It's too boring. I better go play smth like Witcher3 'cause it has great story or new game like Inscription or Do not feed the Monkeys - cause they have new interesting gameplay. Project Renee is also meh. In "Behind the Sims" they said that it will be free-to-play game, not the Sims5 (cause Sims4 and Renee will co-exist for presumably very long time), with cross-platform compatibility, some online features, lootboxes and stuff. And open world is not mentioned at all/ Eugh. If I want Genshin Impact - I go and play. Why to make a clone of it? So instead of getting new game (since Sims4 is 10 years, come on!) we are getting a side project somewhere in 3-4 years from now. Which will be outdated already on the release in conception, graphics and targeting.
Custom Worlds in The Sims 3 are what I appreciate the most in this game. Thanks to the wonderful creators who created various worlds, cozy, atmospheric, small and large, mysterious and ordinary, megacities and lonely islands. This gives just endless possibilities for a variety of gameplay. My best Worlds are Legacy island populated with Sims 2 families, Boroughsburg, stunning huge megapolis, Alpine County, so well designed for everyday gameplay.
I tried out the sims 4 when it became free to play. The moment I found it cumbersome to move from one place to another and couldn't even figure out a way to return home once I visited a neighbor's lot I gave up on it immediately and went back to sims 3 lol.
Not to mention that in ts3 base game we already had restaurants, bakeries, and hospitals to go to and work in. I want to have restaurants in ts4 but there's a pack for it that most players really don't like.
Speaking of Sims, do you have any thoughts on the new project Rene? Personally, I don't have much hope for it considering the direction the franchise went, but I might end up pleasantly surprised.
@@Rekowcski Once in a while a franchise salvages itself. For example, in the tabletop game world most people seem to prefer D&D v. 5 over 4. Let's hope The Sims goes the same way.
@@mikekeenan8450 I’m curious if they’ll actually get their crap together with the Paralives competition. I’m not sure though, especially since Paralives is a small team, and can’t work as fast as EA
Open world.. i have apartments in sims 4 and there is a loading screen to go to my neighbors… there door is right next to mine. That’s unacceptable considering how far tech has come these days
It’s so tragic that a game series that revolutionized itself from the first to the third game and was done with so much personality and love to detail got completely destroyed with the 4th generation. I heard maxis isn’t working on it anymore and it shows! Now it’s just crappy content where you have to pay 15€ for 10 objects like what??! The quality of the game got so bad and the sims feel so manufactured
Sims 3 is great with only base game. In fact its a more satisfying game than sims 4 amd all the expansions combined. They took out the elements that made the game fun and addictive.
Yeah sims 3 has my favorite lifetime wish. Some of the aspirations I can’t do because of glitches. Some have been fixed but like it’s still sours me to it.
I still play the Sims 3 10 time more then the Sims 4. Also the Sims 4 could benefit from a player user Create A World tool. Some of the fan made Sims 3 worlds were amazing.
I started with sims4 & now own sims 1-3 on disc. Turns out your point is STILL 100% valid. Playing Sims4 feels meaningless because the sims don't FEEL alive. Their Sims4 worlds don't FEEL alive. Sims4 just looks so fake that I feel like it's mocking my attempts at serious game play.
@@Rekowcski I'm 38 years old but you just retraumatised me remembering Betty Starter's death when the genie set the house on fire 6 months ago😭 Bob Starter is still busy being awesome in life and is my favourite sim.👑 I actually uploaded a video of Bob riding the Creepy Clown Rollercoaster to my channel (because Bob is awesome and deserved it after the loss of Betty).
Hey Rekowcski, could you kindly make a video about EA Play not supporting items from sims 3 store? EA still sells items at the sims 3 store for full price but wont make them compatible with their new EA Play! I got the Sunlit Tides world from the Sims 3 store (bought with simpoints) but I cannot download it into sims 3 launcher because I'm on EA Play now!! I'm sooo deeply disappointed about it. EA sucks so much for taking our money and simpoints and not letting us use legitimately bought items they still sell at FULL PRICE!!! There's gotta be somewhere we can complain. Better Business Bureau? I'm really upset at EA about this injustice. :(
The better business bureau is actually also a scam corporation and not a government entity. I may do a video on this if there isn’t a solution soon. I’ve been dreading problems about the switch to EA app. Thankfully I’m still on origin. Maybe at this point just get your pirate hat on so you can get what you paid for.
I deleted the EA app and reinstalled Origin, in part for this exact reason. It’s infuriating! Of course, I still can’t download the stuff pack I got for my birthday from either app, but at least this way I was able to get my store items.
That soo true I had to but new world. New Town and I can't even use it now. So I spend my real money at that and after I download this into game it doesn't show up😡😡😡😡
Make sure that when you have access to your Sim3Store items that you download them and save them somewhere safe as backup. That way you can install them (just copy them into the Downloads folder in your The Sims 3 folder.
Yup, couldn't said better myself, i would honestly rathered playing 3 and 2 way more better at this point, though at this point. It definitely has something that 4 doesn't even freaking have. Everything's there!
I def preferred TS3. The only areas that I prefer in TS4 are in build mode: the stairs, platforms, window placement, multi height walls and lighting aspects. As for the potato faced TS3 sims... With CC you can make beautiful sims, homely sims, ugly sims- unique sims. When I haven't played TS4 for a while (a common occurrence) I struggle to differentiate between the Sims I've created and the sims I've downloaded. They're different but not different.
I personally adore both of them- because while the realism is nice, I often like to not go for realism, and moreso try to make a story out of characters I make, which feels easier to do in TS4, the only things I'm upset about is the lack of story, traits, and a few other things you already covered in the video. TS2 was my first sim game, which i fell in love with. I adored TS3 and TS4 too. All have their issues and pros. Regardless, loved this video
Why I like the sims 3: one of my sim could work out at the gym, while another is drinking at bar, while another could write a novel at home, while another could gardening. And I don't have to wait for the loading screen everytime I want to change the sim.
Yesss
true but loading for the first time is so damn slow!

@@inzanity490 what mods do u recommend for TS4?
@@lemmy6465
1. MCCC - general purpose mod basically, it's like cheats but on steroids. It helps with customizing certain aspects of the gameplay to your liking
2. Have Some Personality Please - improves autonomy, makes sims act more like their traits
3. Meaningful Stories - makes the emotion system more realistic, which also makes it slightly more difficult
4. Wonderful Whims - attraction system, personality archetypes, menstrual cycles, birth control, STDs. There's also the Woohoo Wellness mod which is similar but I haven't used it yet but I heard it's also really good
5. Memory Panel - keeps track of memories/important events in your sim's life
There's loads of them but personally this is just my top 5.

I regret all the money I've spent on sims 4 just because it was "brand new and up to date". the experience is simply lack luster!!!

In sims 3, the science career has a job called “fertilizer analyst” which is exactly what I do when reviewing sims 4
@@Rekowcski - Lol! 😂
I'm glad I'm not the only person. Even within the power fantasy jobs, I hate that the astronaut career splits to a space ranger or a space smuggler. At that point, I just want a high ranking astronaut, not Buzz Lightyear or Han Solo
i feel like the jobs are also way too easy to progress and make money in
I agree, I also thought the choice of careers in Sims 4 was odd. No schoolteachers, police officers, or accountants. Just astronauts and mafia bosses.

Sims 4 feels like a Pixar dollhouse simulator

Judith Ward at the Solar Flare or willow creek park... haha

I also struggle with the fact that the general consensus seems to be that one of the only things the sims 4 has going for it is the graphics. I think that was also a step down. Leas realistic more pixel and cartoony... and if people like that better great but i don't know if that means better than sims 3 graphics
@vioxeri get well soon
Now I'm so happy I took the time to make sure all my community lots are zoned correctly 😭
thisss I wish EA would give an overall update to the personality and small quirqs that come with how sims act in the whole worlds.
It's a lot harder to cheat in the sims 3 for things. In the sims 4 I just cheat all the time because it's so boring and complicated at the same time.

Traits in the sims 3 and personality points in the sims 2 always make sure my sims are behaving differently from one another 💕
Which is weird because they cater to the Alphabet people and left out the basis
The Sims 4 idea of a gloomy character is someone who randomly gets sad moodlet
@@mummytrolls And those aren't real moodlets, they're seen as ill statuses that must be prevented or removed to proceed, i made a painter and the sad moodlet says it gives creativity (i think) but as soon as it appears it's all "do something to cheer him up quickly".
@@mummytrolls which then gets immediately overridden because theres an expensive chair or literally any decor in the room
And here i am still playing sims medieval praying EA will one day realise what missed opportunity it was
Sims medieval > anything in sims 4. Haha
i feel the same about Spore, such a spectacular game...
I abandoned TS4 for TS2 a long while ago, but this video made me remember how much I loved Sims 3 for many of these exact reasons, so I think I'll be loading up here soon...
I think Sims 1, 2 and 3 all have different strengths so I just rotate between them to keep it fresh.
The thing that most annoys me about Sims 4 are the simmer influencers that think the game is perfect, just because EA pays their bills. But the game is a really expensive shame and they don't care.
They literally praise kits because they get a percentage of the sale haha
Exactly, hahah. Long live Sims 3.
There's a reason EA stopped selling the Sims 2 when they released the sims 4.
if the people who think the sims 4 is the best game in the series could go back and play the sims 2, it would rock their world.
Sim influencers are the most basic gaming youtubers to ever exist out there
I mean hey its free now on steam!
The problem with sims 4 cool skin tones is that they're more gray/purple, while real life cool toned skin is more pinkish
I seriously hated that skintone update, why did they feel the need to make them purple? I wish we just got a color wheel
yh like u can only use a warm undertone. I don't get why the cool is purple, it is supposed to be pinkish, not purple.
@@blueghost4769 if they didn't want to make a wheel they could have made a slider for warm tones and a slider for cool tones. It's not that hard. I don't understand why they have to make things so complicated it's weird. Hard to believe there are hundreds of people behind this game
oh wow, sims is clearly not a real life... not even close. why do you all expect skintones to be like real life?
@@LL-wu5ui they don't have to be 100 percent realistic but I wish they looked less dead
I miss finishing the work and walking back at home, meeting a friend and all of a sudden going out to eat with him and have a good time. I miss so much the open world, the story progression and the fact that every single Sim has a daily life.
I love the open world so much, if even just to see my friends and enemies walking down the street
Damn. Just play the Sims 3 already omg
@@celestiachamberlain7029 I’ve got some fantastic mods for 3- my fav is “Get Sim Arrested “ omg it’s soooo funny!!
The passion that was put behind TS3 is what we're wanting... is that so hard to ask for? 😕
Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims Medieval all share the champion in my heart. I also think that Sims 3 handle story progression better.
Never heard of sims medieval
@@ElvisLivesUpstairs you have to play it! I think its pc only
I would absolutely love another Sims Medieval (as long as they didn't butcher it, of course)

I like to bounce between the older sims games, especially 2 and 3. I find each of their weaknesses is the others’ strengths.
@@badger1688 ..and from the looks of things, Sims 5 is gonna be even worse 😔… it looks like effing pixar/ kids graphics/ MySims…
Only things I did was 'SIL moves in' and 'WIfe and SIL move out'
Have yet to have a similar experience in the Sims 4....
If you want to start a new save in sims 3 I have reviewed every world so you can see which one you'd like best!
The houses in sims 4 is so good, although the option in 3 that I just saw is very intriguing, but the 4 lighting is amazing, and I can't wait for the 5th one, I heard they are doing something with the lighting and it sure look even better
i loved sims 3 my sim met a dark unicorn at night. i was close to become his friend. then dawn came up and it disappeared.
i always disable wild horses, but allow 1 unicorn per world
I have wolf friend too 🥹
I prefer the look of sims 3 sims to those of other games. I use custom skin, hair and eyes, but tbh the only thing I couldn't play without is cc hair. Other than that, sims can look beautiful. It's just a matter of knowing what you're doing in CAS.
the sims 3 has some hideous hair haha, i have default retextures for them at least, but my best ones are from the store
Can you please direct what to do in CAS? I struggle with knowing what CC to download to make them look better
@@envy2069 i use the ephemera fresh skin as default, default eyebrow replacements by simplelife and eyelashes from s-club. That and replacement eyes makes a huge difference (although I forgot which eyes I have rn)
The store cc hair is definitely better than in game one lol.
Really? The graphics for the clothes are shit in the Sims 3. After playing the sims 4 for five years, I went back to the sims 3 to make a house for my mom, and for fun went looking through all my clothes for toddlers. The graphics suck, you can't even make them out half-time.
Personally I think Sims 3 feels much more alive and breathing than Sims 4
I agree
Sims 3 is just too good. I've played Sims since 2004, Love sims urbz, castaway, sims 2, bustin out, but I cannot get into sims 4 no matter how many times I try. TS3 is honestly so perfect, I still enjoy it 13 years later
All those games you listed are my childhood (minus TS4). Especially wishing for good sequel for the Urbs. Or PC ports one day.
Castaway was so difficult to me for some reason, I loved the game but got stuck after finding all of my shipwrecked friends 🤣
I need castaway but it’s so expensive now
Late but urbz and bustin out were childhood classics
I'm 23 but played since I was 12 and still haven't found everything in sims 3 to do. Always will be my favorite.
Every sims 3 video I make... i learn something new haha
Me too hahahah
But I play Ts3 since 10 yrs
Same, I started playing 11 years ago when I was 12! I only got the last two dlc’s recently and can’t wait to obsess over my sims families and their wacky lives 🤩
Same!!! I started playing by around 10 and I haven’t stopped. Even tho I’m 23 now i’m still finding new things to explore in sims 3.
I love that there are endless adventures to
go on in the expansion packs.
With Sims 4, I spend a majority of my time playing in custom content. Then I get bored and not play the game for months at a time.
I spend way too long in Create a Style haha
Omg, I used to pay for TSR every month because it gave me more than any DLC ever could.
@@Rekowcski That’s the only reason I played Sims 4 for as long as I did.
I’m afraid I use S@crifici@l mods for 4. Otherwise it’s boring.
Thank you I put a lot of effort into it behind the scenes ❤
I just got my game running perfectly. I'm excited to play all the expansions properly:D
@@ElvisLivesUpstairs do you have an advanced pc?
The sims 3 island living is AMAZING compared to sims 4 island living. Like… owning a resort, house boats, AND CUTE MERMAID BABIES
One word - sliders.
Yoo whats the mod for the non puffy game characters? Itd be a life saver 😭
@@lalalalalaamla there is a mod by lazy duchess named random sim fixes so there are custom skins you can choose from and sliders
I don't even use custom skintones or default-replacement stuff, just vanilla assets and some custom hairstyles, and I can make sims I'm very satisfied with and regularly fawn over them. It's absolutely possible, you just have to practice.
You made me want to play ts3 AND made me incredibly depressed over the fate of this franchise all in one video. Thanks.
you're very welcome
Reasons like these is why I'm happy I've been sticking with TS3 and never really considered purchasing sims 4.

Hey hopefully paralives will be good, fingers crossed
i guess sims 4 going free to play is promo for the upcoming sims game. but i dont get why they wouldnt promote with their better game :D
I will absolutely agree with you that sims 4 toddlers are the cutest, actually sims 2 has cute toddlers too, just sims 3 has my baby potatoes haha
Exactly. 4 is for the more looks oriented players!
The sims 3 base game is 🔥, you can get so much more out of that than the sims 4 with a bunch of packs
I wholeheartedly agree!
I went from 3 to 4 for so long, I finally went back to Sims 3 a few days ago. I'm never leaving it again
Sims 2 and 3 were *LIT* lol, I could spend hours upon hours on those games. Sims 4 I get bored after an hour or less now. I'm still on my break from it, I can't be bothered to turn it on or update my mods lmfao.
I literally installed sims 4 to make 1 video then uninstalled it 😂
@@Rekowcski lmfao that's funny XD
Another thing that Sims 3 did better than Sims 4 is diving, I love swimming/diving and sims in Sims 3 can have a holding-breath contest underwater or can actually SCUBA dive with underwater view in Island Paradise! With some Nraas magic, you can make them freedive (change their clothes after they submerged), good for screenshots/video clips.
I really enjoyed diving in the Sims 3 island paradise
"Sims 3 has my whole heart"...OMG...YOU SAID IT!!✨️💚
Aaah yes, my favorite indulgence, feeling superior for playing TS3 x) I'm not even being sarcastic, it's genuinely a guilty pleasure of mine (x
I agree with the point about TS3 sims being "ugly", beauty standards are just off the rails these days.
It certainly bloated my cc file ... some of those hairs come with 24 colours and all of them ugly :(
the reason why sims 3 is da best😁
Game play wise, 3 is better
Graphics wise, 4 is better
You have no idea how happy I would be if Sims 5 was the best of both worlds
I think The Sims just fits so much better when the setting is set in 90s or 2000s. That nostalgic atmosphere is addicting and much more immersive.
Literally the only 2 things I can say are better in sims 4:
-Ability to run smoothly or fast even with lower-end PCs
-Build and Buy mechanics
I still prefer sims 3 overall though, it’s always been my favorite.
@MissEvelynx the Sims 1 also has the pizza disappear slice by slice 🍕
@@Rekowcski sure, but comment above was about comparing ts2 and ts3
I prefer Sims 4 for the 100 baby challenge but prefer Sims 3 overall.
Hear me out:
I tried the 100 baby challenge in Sims 3 and it is very difficult to get my sims to get to their kids for resolving needs and skills.
Sims 4 was my longest 100 baby challenge so I will have to agree with you ... I didn’t even cheat and I got to 42 before I uninstalled the game haha
That Sims 3 Gen. clip almost made me cry. And I've seen it a million times.
The biggest thing was that they removed open map. Now if you want to go somewhere you always have to sit loading screen
The way sims 3 gave you the chance to live in a world u could build a custom home on a custom lot, and create a second beach house or lake house omg
Sims 3 had so many things to do that you could play for years and you could still find new things.
Sims 4 on the otherhand... You would probably find everything in a few months of playing even with all packs installed.
I am always learning new things about the sims 3 💕
And finally (If you've read this far have a free cookie 🍪)
We have news that they are working on The Sims 5, my excitement is ZERO, I've seen the headlines and that's about it.
(Still love Sims1 and Sims3 over Sims2, btw)
I couldn't possibly imagine the LEAP backwards from the open world, collections, massive dlc's with a ton things to do, active careers, adventure vacation quests and etc and etc..
I am not optimistic, but I will give it a fair shot. So far it looks like a bed, bath and beyond website to help you shop online.
A sims 5 with sims 3 gameplay and sims 4 quality would be amazing!
Open world.. i have apartments in sims 4 and there is a loading screen to go to my neighbors… there door is right next to mine. That’s unacceptable considering how far tech has come these days
Unacceptable is right.
Sims 1: Vanilla Ice Cream
Sims 2: Chocolate Ice Cream
Sims 3: Strawberry Ice Cream
Sims 4: That one ice cream flavor no one cares about.
I was going to have “opportunities” be their own part of the list, but it was bumped to part 2s list :x
I challenge any Sims 4 player so sit through the screams in Sims 1 fires/deaths.... then they will see what the Sims can FEEL like haha
@@Rekowcski I'm 38 years old but you just retraumatised me remembering Betty Starter's death when the genie set the house on fire 6 months ago😭
Bob Starter is still busy being awesome in life and is my favourite sim.👑
I actually uploaded a video of Bob riding the Creepy Clown Rollercoaster to my channel (because Bob is awesome and deserved it after the loss of Betty).
0:16 Bob pancakes and eliza pancakes! Also i married elize in one game
Traits in The Sims 3 have more impacts to the gameplay than in The Sims 4. That's what makes The Sims 3 more fun.
Regardless, loved this video
you're absolutely right, the best thing for Sims 4 is if you have all the ideas and stories, and you just want to play them out.
