I just started greasing today. I got a mix of people looking at me like I was insane and genuine praise. Then again, people that laughed were the type to wear shorts in winter.
Yup, excited, refreshed, maybe even feeling alive a bit more. Like stepping in our out of the shower- not that I don't take showers or anything.-Grease, what? You put that in your hair? Of course. My hair makes its own every few days! We aren't that rebellious to not take showers, but you get the idea. Madman made a video on greaser grooming if you want to go watch it.
PinUpDollSofiaRenee22 I know how you feel, it took me a long time to develop my own look and find a car that was badass, different and affordable, I almost got a 1957 Buick century non post sedan but it was sold just before I could see it.
Being a greaser these days is probably more rebellious than ever. For instance: leather jackets. More and more people are turning vegan and this means also that they think clothing made from animals is cruel and wrong. Also, the association with old American cars. Teenagers these days are more environmentally conscious than ever and the idea of an old American made gas-guzzler scares them to death.
Shutdown Kid the school is crowded and I try not to get caught doing shit like that. I guess I have to risk it but I avoid fights at all costs. I will probably give a lot of warnings before I beat them down?
SalandFindles i am the only pinup in my area here in Vegas so I completely understand how you feel. Feel free to follow me on instagram and follow all my other pinup and greasers friends, maybe you'll find some near you 😊 @pin_up_doll_sofia_renee22 sadly still haven't found any near me
Ever since the pandemic, I started dressing like a greaser, because of how corrupt the government and modern culture is and I rebel against it by growing out my sideburns, listening to 50’s rock n roll, collecting model cars, hanging out at retro diners to rebel against modern minimalism in restaurants (kiosks, grab and go restaurants) watch old movies from the 50’s-80’s, I always get a lot of compliments on my style and hair by a lot of older people and tell me how the youth should dress more like me
I am both a greaser and a biker I've spent a large part of my life trying to reintroduce the 50s motorcycle clothes hairdos etc to the biker culture. Its something I've had to fight for and I would like to think that I have made some kind of contribution.
One time In the new school year I walked in the class and got weird looks from this group of boys. Then one of them came up to me and said "u look like a greaser" I said I am one then he said "that's not attractive" I said who am I trying to impress because its sure as hell not you. I laughed and walked out the room to go to the office for something. Does people really now in days think theres not girl greasers?
I joined a punk band recently and when I showed them a song I wrote they kept saying it sounded like punk but blues-ey or a 50’s hint to it because I got the lead guitarist doing sped up rockabilly shit
Fell in love with the subculture when I was around 10. (90s rebel era). My cuz had the coolest boots and always with raw 501s. I think this helped me shape my style. Simple yet classic. Long live the music of that culture as well.
I’m a greaser girl and it’s really weird, I’ve been scared to show my true self at school, yet, I don’t even attend regular public school anymore, I attend online high school.
I love that you mentioned having interests that cross over into other genres. I can relate a hell of a lot. I'm alternative/gothic and that will probably be my main identifier for life since thats how I been most of my life, but I also really dig the greaser subculture and lock, rockabilly, and rock n roll. Gene Vincent is one of my favorites btw.
I do my hair this way because I prefer it, it looks nice and I don't have to get it cut as often. I take my own spin and take what I like from different styles and build my own.
I love being a greaser because people do look at you but in a more interested peculiar way then if you are a street punk or some long haired metalhead. You have a sense of class to you those other subcultures lack.
The number of times people have shouted “ELVIIIISS!” At me is astonishing. I’m a huge Elvis fan though so I Rock it. Leather jacket, aviators, pompadour, etc. #RocknRoll.
Hey CripticArt a bit while back I met with Hus kid named Joey we called him Jcrispy he introduced me know to the greser life, I've lived in the ghetto but I'm trying to change. I love your channel and your unique , krrp it up man.
One time I tried a slicked back hair stile, oh man I got so many comments in one day about being Elvis or a tunnel snake. Keep in mind I was a big time metalhead at the time with a spiked and patched denim vest so the only greaser looking part of me was the hair. All it took was the freaking hair to have people wondering if I was a greaser kind of guy.
Everytime I go greaser (literally) on the street life or public, most ppl just get intimidated and chicks looks my way because I look like a clean, tough guy. It's more looked at as a "tough guy" look today in cities than greaser stuff. In communities, they literally called me "hey its ghost rider! Fkn wicked kool jacket man!" etc but in a kool way lol
I get shit from cops occasionally, they think I'm a criminal or part of a motorcycle club. Ironic, I'm a good boy all things considering. Sure, I speed and listen to loud music but I'm straight edge and I try to follow the rules unless they are extremely bullshit. I go to work and I hardly ever wear a hat, even when the manager's get pissed. I don't want that shit on my head when my hair looks better. Hats are best kept for bad hair days and for the cold winters. People think I'm going to be really mean or a shithead because I definitely look intimidating and rough (especially without glasses!) but then I'm a sweetheart when people meet me and everyone loves me (except for dipshits). I definitely get stares and dirty looks, but I ain't changing for nobody.
It gets windy where I live, and my hair is the only hair that doesn't budge in the wind, and my friends like to joke that I put glue in it. Its a satisfying reaction
First of all beeing a "Greaser" firstly starts in your brain. The look ain't rebellious any more. Wearing Jeans and Leather Jackets is very casual, even here in Germany. It's HOW you wear it and how you transport the Greaser feeling. And dudes and dudettes never forget: Teds, Greasers, Rockabillies, Psychobillies a.s.o have one thing wich connects them all and that's the music and the feeling wich this music gives us. Greets from Germany from an Oldtimer Greaser
People have actually given me compliments on the style. No joke people say I look like elvis with my hair and sideburns and it is always a compliment. People dig my Levis 501s and biker jackets and I'm not kidding! It is a little different, but people have been liking the style. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't its all that rebellious as it used to be because I'm not being referred to as a hoodlem because of my clothing. I just look like the dude who has his own style and is rocking it.
I wish people knew what greasers where so they didn’t think i was a good hearted slicked back hair Elvis presley cosplayer and instead a greaser delinquent
Hey I know I ask a lot of questions but, I don't have engineer boots, but I have black construction boots can those work? Love the videos please keep it up!
Kryptic Art thank you so much, like really you have been the biggest help I can think of seriously keep on rocking man. I am supporting you as much as I can, and I can't wait order more merchandise!
Kryptic Art, in many ways, being a greaser now is still rebellious. Because greasers do not dress up like hipsters, greasers do not listen to techno shit, greasers dress differently than modern trends and more.
Kailand Cole If you don’t want to wear boots or don’t have any, it’s always cool to wear high top converse, or other classic style shoes. Don’t wear anything fancy with crazy colors or leather converse or anything like that though, just black/white, all white, or some colors like blue/white. That’s what I wear because I don’t have boots and love converse.
Im certainly rebellious because im a bit of a mix of anarcho punk and greaser (grease punk) im very much an anarchist and entirely opposed to the way modern society is especially the government
I've been referred more to as a gangster than a greaser. The leather jacket, gelled hair, the Brooklyn accent. Prob because the leather jacket isn't motorcycle or greaser type, it's more of a 70's style with 2 big and 2 small lapels. I just like dressing like it, regardless. Idk, I'm not one to call myself a greaser but if someone compared me to one or called me one I'd probably agree.
I love doo wop and 50s and early 60s music, along with every other genre. I really like the sound of dudes making weird noises in the background of a doo wop song while another dude is singing about love.
I cut the hem of my pants cause tailors are too expensive, some of my t-shirts have holes on the shoulder lining, my converses are completely worn out and dirty, I have finger tattoos ride my bike everywhere (bmx, not fixie. I'm not a hipster. I stole it) and I cut my own hair. Not that I wanna look poor but I'm comfortable with how I present myself. I get looks everywhere like if I'm a degenerate but I'm cool with it. I'm a cool guy. Just let me be, society.
To me being a greaser in this day and age. Is basically giving the finger to modern society. Refusing to be anything, and anybody but yourself. When everyone is listening to Kanye West, and watch the Kardashians and shit. I'm doing what I've always done, and if people don't like it. Well that's too damn bad. I'm a greaser because that what I am, take it or leave it
Is it possible to find other greaser gangs or to form a greaser gang in a high class city? I have never seen a greaser gang locally and I wanted to start one, but everyone here is too modern and high class for it. I am from the expensive parts of Cleveland Ohio and I can’t even form a gang. How am I supposed to keep cool and have some greaser style fun without any other greasers?
A madman hey my name is key for me I want to live in Bloomington Indiana know nothing and I was just wondering I was just wondering that I think are there any grease around today no nothing like that was a 1955

Ha! I've seen Madman call him Johnny a couple times now! The Brits would never make that mistake! Eddie is still very popular over here amongst the rockers/greasers and has been since the infamous Teddy Boys of the 50s.
Yes it is in my eyes sagging your pants dressing baggy and all that ridiculous nonsense is lame I'd rather cuff my 501 and keep it classy with the Chuck Taylor's or pf flyers
unfortunately a lot of people seem to relate to these kinds of things because of the racist undertone of the 50s... it's everywhere, confederate flags and racist psychobilly and people mistaking the "trad" traits for something anti progressive. couldn't be farther from the truth in my experience, greaseball was a pejorative term used to describe working class latin americans who were ostracized in the 50s, rock n roll is a genre spearheaded by black people, and keeping the style alive goes directly against the ultra consumerist fast fashion bull that's being pushed on us. In Brazil i have yet to find real straight cut jeans or engineer boots or even a good pomade and my perfecto is falling apart because it was made 30 or so years ago, this shit aint for starters ahah
I just started greasing today. I got a mix of people looking at me like I was insane and genuine praise. Then again, people that laughed were the type to wear shorts in winter.
hahaha I know the type dude!
Welcome to the community!
Thanks, man! Feels good to try something different, you know?
Yup, excited, refreshed, maybe even feeling alive a bit more. Like stepping in our out of the shower- not that I don't take showers or anything.-Grease, what? You put that in your hair?
Of course.
My hair makes its own every few days!
We aren't that rebellious to not take showers, but you get the idea. Madman made a video on greaser grooming if you want to go watch it.
It's rebellious at my school, considering I'm literally the only greaser in my highschool out of 2000+ students
leo50perez I'm the only pinup at my school so I hear you
leo50perez that was me last year before I graduated, I also was the only one with a badass old car that fucking scared everybody!
Lucas Winders must have been so nice 😭
PinUpDollSofiaRenee22 I know how you feel, it took me a long time to develop my own look and find a car that was badass, different and affordable, I almost got a 1957 Buick century non post sedan but it was sold just before I could see it.
I'm with you on that, I was the only greaser at my school too mate
When you're in a clothing store looking for jeans and the cashier says you look like someone ripped straight from the 50's. *Wink*, "You know it baby"
John Morgan, cashier asked me if I liked grease once.
My hair was so shiny my friend turned me around and said "hang on I gotta look in the mirror real quick"
Madman thanks for inspiring me to embrace my greaser style and not care what people at my school think.
Your welcome dude!
Hell yeah man
How do I not get bullied by my peers?
Carolyn Hale best way sometimes is to put them on their ass.
Shutdown Kid the school is crowded and I try not to get caught doing shit like that. I guess I have to risk it but I avoid fights at all costs. I will probably give a lot of warnings before I beat them down?
Every time I see a greaser in a random place I check the hair smile, and look at his outfit and I am like damn, good guys are out there aha

I heard you say Johnny Cochran for the second time now ;) I like your stuff.
My grandpa was an og greaser in the 60's and he would tell me stories about how he was always getting in fights with the jocks
I'm a modern era greaser and I'm a rebel So I guess I'm rebellious against todays society
I joined a punk band recently and when I showed them a song I wrote they kept saying it sounded like punk but blues-ey or a 50’s hint to it because I got the lead guitarist doing sped up rockabilly shit
Cow punk
That's what true punk is! Old time rock n roll on speed.
Fell in love with the subculture when I was around 10. (90s rebel era). My cuz had the coolest boots and always with raw 501s. I think this helped me shape my style. Simple yet classic. Long live the music of that culture as well.

i was in the market and some lady asked my pops " is that your son?" he said yes and she said "that's classy"
My case is the opposite they say is that your pops 😎

Madman, I was thinking the same thing a couple days ago. I definitely agree with you thanks for the video
Your welcome!
Only the Madman can make an informational video and still make it funny as hell
lol glad you enjoyed!
I wish my school teachers were like that.
It's rebellious today because it's outdate lmao. Nobody does it yet we rock it like champs.
See my family don't understand me and look at me different but it's the way I am if they don't like I don't care

One time I tried a slicked back hair stile, oh man I got so many comments in one day about being Elvis or a tunnel snake. I'm a 13 year old greaser and I really like the tall rockabilly pomps
I get shit from cops occasionally, they think I'm a criminal or part of a motorcycle club. Ironic, I'm a good boy all things considering. You should do a video of your 10 favorite bands or top 10 bands to listen to of the greaser category. Too many genres to name of them
I just got one of the jackets u suggested off ur fall greaser jacket video and its awesome I love it thx for the suggestions 🤘
Solid dude glad I could help ;)

I’m the only greaser at my school and people’s parents told them not to hang out with me 💀🙃
I wish people knew what greasers where so they didn’t think i was a good hearted slicked back hair Elvis presley cosplayer and instead a greaser delinquent
Hey I know I ask a lot of questions but, I don't have engineer boots, but I have black construction boots can those work? Love the videos please keep it up!
Start with what you have. I started with black combat boots lol, we all have to start somewhere!

Ive always wondered where do you live?
Long beach, California
Im certainly rebellious because im a bit of a mix of anarcho punk and greaser (grease punk) im very much an anarchist and entirely opposed to the way modern society is especially the government
Yesterday got called fonzie and today someone asked if i put axle grease in my hair .
This guy at my school thinks he's a greaser just because he has a leather jacket but he wears running pants and Jordans with the leather jacket. Bruh
I looked up those bands on Apple Music and am gladly surprised to find those songs🙂
Sad part is my style is kinda like a greaser but im more of a freind to greasers lol you madman my dude are badass and cool
Though I listen to electro swing, swing, elvis, Buddy, gene, tom jones, etc lol im that kinda guy lol
Man your hair looks great
The called me elvis in the second grade..
To me being a greaser in this day and age. Is basically giving the finger to modern society. Refusing to be anything, and anybody but yourself. I'm a greaser because that what I am, take it or leave it
I love the intro song, anyone know what it is?
Don't mean to be a dick about it but at 7:32, you said Johnny Cochran. I'm pretty sure you meant Eddie Cochran.
I usually just get compliments on my hair. But that is still fine.

Ponyboy Curtis?! :D

What's the name of the intro song? Love your channel man great stuff. Greaser community is strong cat
The "basically everything America is known for" line made me laugh :)
Its definitely rebellious against the modern fye trap rapper
Does he put cement in his hair...?! That's funny. Also, how do you get you ducktail to join your pomp. I end up smashing in the sides every time. Your hair looks nice too- you got it a bit higher than ussual.

Hey madman I play football and I got a nickname greased lightning but I dont sport the elephants trunk I sport the pomp what do you think about that
lol it makes sense in your case. You must be fast!
Jacob Brooks my older cousin calls me greased lighting but I never cared since it's a term of endearment so you shouldn't give it much mind since they're calling you that as a term of endearment
Jacob Brooks "Ain't nobody gonna catch Grease Lighting"
Lighting fast and hit like a car! Lol thanks madman!
And the the other hep cats too
Ay madman what do you think about bomber jackets for greasers
Can you add a link for a cheap leather jacket mines getting to small
Rock it MadMAN
Do you ever check your DMs on Instagram?
Anyone else see there are almost 2500 maniacs already? Holy shit.
I like what you do but it's Eddie Cochran not Johnny Cochran
Dont know if this is relevant but how old are you? Just wondering
I can't remember which video it was, or how he dropped the info, but I'm pretty sure he was born in '89.
Do a tutorial on your teenager hair (the tall flat rockabilly pomp) pleeeeease
I do have some pomp tutorials on my channel.
Johnny Cochran don't you mean Eddie Cochran
Never knew Eddie Cochran had a brother, Johnny 😂
New York Greaser yeah
yeah
Ha! I've seen Madman call him Johnny a couple times now! The Brits would never make that mistake! Eddie is still very popular over here amongst the rockers/greasers and has been since the infamous Teddy Boys of the 50s.
As Johnny sang “if your hair ain’t slick you might be a prick”.
I’m the only greaser in my highschool of 1200 kids so yea it’s rebellious
My uncle always call me "John travolta" or danny zuko damn
Just say "dont make me laugh ha ha ha"😎
I get that a lot
Yes it is in my eyes sagging your pants dressing baggy and all that ridiculous nonsense is lame I'd rather cuff my 501 and keep it classy with the Chuck Taylor's or pf flyers
Hell I'm the only Greaser in my school and I live in damn Tennessee
Could you do an evil laugh?
I started grease'n two weeks ago and I've already double stacked chicks twice!
unfortunately a lot of people seem to relate to these kinds of things because of the racist undertone of the 50s... it's everywhere, confederate flags and racist psychobilly and people mistaking the "trad" traits for something anti progressive.
couldn't be farther from the truth in my experience, greaseball was a pejorative term used to describe working class latin americans who were ostracized in the 50s, rock n roll is a genre spearheaded by black people, and keeping the style alive goes directly against the ultra consumerist fast fashion bull that's being pushed on us.
In Brazil i have yet to find real straight cut jeans or engineer boots or even a good pomade and my perfecto is falling apart because it was made 30 or so years ago, this shit aint for starters ahah
I still get thoughs looks lol
