I can't stand when fashion youtubers say stuff like. "If you want to have the greaser look you should wear skinny jeans and use a lot of hair gel and pull the rest of the look off with a pair of vans..." Greasers wear classic fit jeans and use classic hair products like pomade and hair tonic, and obviously don't wear vans. Hipsters just see something they don't understand and immediately gotta put some trendy twist on it.

When I started to get into the greaser style I watched Tom Cat's videos, then Outlaw Greaser's, Straight Cat's, Rockabilly Ben, and last but not least Kryptic Art (Madman) my list composed is the channels I've discovered in order. I appreciate all of these guys and their knowledge they gave to help me gain knowledge as a greaser. The trendy channels are crap, and that the type of channels listed above provide the best videos you can find to influence your own unique look within the greaser style

Iv been greasing since 7th grade . my grandad and uncle was one and they inspired and taught me
I'm also a greaser my self and I just wanna take the time to say I really love what you do man, you're a cool cat and I respect you. My style of clothing is a very simple and basic look, early 50s kinda look. For example like the way the greasers dressed in "The Outsiders" dressed. I noticed most greasers have blue jeans I prefer to wear black jeans because it blends in better to my tan skin

@@jakedubin8219 ay i know it's a little late and i think you already got it covered but just in case, light blue bleached jeans were just dark blue work jeans that got worn out and then appropriated by the fashion industry because they thought it looked cool, all of this to say any shade of blue will do really

I don't fit into labels so much, but my clothing style is pretty much a combo of emo and greaser styles. It's how I've dressed since seventh grade. The only thing that's changed is how well I put my outfits together lol

I’ve recently started really getting into rockabilly and your channel has been an amazing help in discovering new things about the subculture. Your apparel suggestions have been a huge help. Yesterday was the first time I really put on the dog. I had my hair slicked, wearing a black A-Shirt, dark blue denim pants (not the stretchy kind), but the only thing I kept to my usual is my black logger boots. I know the outfit was simple and may not be super duper authentic but I felt the old school cool all day long. I was way more confident and laid back knowing that even dressed simply I was dressed sharp. Thanks Madman.

I dress like a greaser, I have a leather jacket (not a schott) but still a pretty good one, Levi jeans, engineer boots, plain t shirts, the only thing is I don't do anything with my hair simply because a motorcycle is the only means of transportation I posess and the helmet I have to wear always messes it up so I just get short haircuts. does this wreck the style of not?

I wear the wellington boots with a denim jacket, black tshirt, blue jeans, st christopher pendant, ring, comb, smokes, shades, flannel shirt and I'm not a greaser but I like the style and culture. Sometimes I wear slacks and a nice crisp button down shirt. My hair I wear kinda like Dally's in outsiders because I don't like lots of pomade in my hair.

I was never a greaser (actually where I grew up “greaser” was like the n-word for Mexican) but watching this video I learned I always wore the greaser style. Wish there was youtube in the 80s (or even internet).

This was funny, I got my laugh for the day! You will never get what a real greaser is. I was born into it, 4 generations. This guy is making it like a fad. You will know if your a real greaser. I've been shot at, stabbed twice, and had some really good fights. When your from some where or have to defend a turf, you will find how crazy being a greaser is. Most guys do it for a weekend thing. Part time greaser! Hahaha.....

I’ve got a replica of Elvis’ leather jacket from the ‘68 Comeback Special. It’s basically a denim made of leather and that looks pretty good. I recommend them.

The main thing I hate about those "greaser look" videos (and why mad man does it better) is that they only do the steryotypical greaser look (motorcycle jacket, blue Jean's, white t-shirt, and slicking the hair back) and although that is A greaser style, theres so many other ways, and no cat wheres that exact thing every day

Rockabilly Ragsdale go to home depot and get a smaller sized tow chain get 1-2ft depending how long you want it. They won't break they last forever

Could I wear work boots (The all black kind)? I have throwback day for my school's spirit week and I'm choosing to dress like a greaser (from the 50s era, traditional). I only own work boots, but I want to be respectful to the culture.

I have a question: I live in a suburban area and my parents aren't working class (My mom is a part time nurse and my step dad works in the printing industry full time). I live in a two story and my parents make roughly 60,000 a year together but most of that goes to bills like the house and car, etc. So is it ok if I do the greaser style because I really like the 50s and 60s and hope to save up for a old car but I'm not poor and I'm not rich more like middle class....

The way you explained it why would someone who isn’t a greaser tell someone how to dress like a greaser. Someone who doesn’t have any love for the 1950s rock n roll music. or the even wears the greaser style it’s almost like they watched a movie about greasers but didn’t study the history.

Yeah, there at multiple kinds of hairstyles you can use. His is a pompadour, I just slick mine back, some cats roll it in the front to make an elephant's trunk. Experiment with your hair and see what fits you.
I cant find engineer boots where I live only combat, but I'm also a girl and find engineer boots ruin my my look and tend to crash with my jacket. Is it still ok to only wear the combat?

If someone somehow sees this comment toughs on gargo pants/gargo camo pants🤔 i usually wear them bc they are my most fitting and durable pants. And mostly use my work shoes/boots but weekends my phantom 10s. Jacket is eather black biker jacket or "highschool" style of jacket (the 90s bully look jacket). Jewlery 4 rings (3 gifts 2from friends who are now in the sky) and sometimes watch on right wrist. Toughs on my fit? (not greaser but love the gendre and style. Sadly greasers where not big in here. My country got independence in 1917.)

Not him and 2 months late, but I personally combine the country and greaser style, with cowboy boots, texas style buckle, jeans and leather jackets. I think it works well as long as you use something else country so the boots don't look out of place.

I've been wearing a chain wallet ever since some guy picked my pocket. That sucked, hundred bucks gone without even knowing it. Never been much of a ring guy, I do like watches though. I've always carried two knives on me, one for work purposes which is a simple pocket knife, and another for self defense which is a switchblade.
