I was trying to remove the headlight for atleast 4 hours before I found this video. Didn't know about the plastic clasp, thank you so much

The real trick at 8:30 is super helpful, everyone should pay attention to that. disconnecting the 10 pin wire on back is tricky too. THANKS for the video!

My friend said to throw out the airfilter, that there's no other way. also I didn't know about the hidden clamber. Than you so much!

Had to write and say thanks for your helpful and well-made video.
Today I replaced the LF assembly on a 2000 A6. The right had been replaced previously because of accident damage, but the left was original and cloudy. I'd intended to sand and clearcoat the lens, but instead got an excellent eBay deal on an OE Hella. Your video persuaded me the replacement was feasible DIY.
    Some observations:
The third "way down there" screw is about 50% longer than the other two. When unscrewing, for a time I thought it was simply spinning in place, not realizing it had more thread to go.
Definitely pull the wheel liner; I removed the wheel as well. The liner is stiff and its own challenge to remove and reinstall, but opening it gives easy access to the third screw (which still is difficult to see because of brake and washer reservoirs).
As advised, the connector wasn't easy to take apart. When the assembly is not installed and can be turned upside down (e.g., when testing the new assembly), it's easy to use a screwdriver blade to spring open the connector, but when installed, it seems impossible. My solution was to use "just enough" vice-grip pressure on the connector while simultaneously wiggling it apart.
The plastic pin wasn't troublesome when removing the assembly, but I had difficulty getting it in its fitting on the installation. When test fitting using the old assembly, I scratched the lens on the fender lip. For the final installation, I masked the lens and lip and avoided scratching the new lamp.
    Thanks again.

May someone point me out where to find part 2 (leveling motor and ballast swap)?

Do u have an ebay part number or the seller u got them from?? Ive been trying to find new replacement assemblies and nothing comes up? It keeps saying it fits everything but the Allroad 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔

Sorry, I don't as this was years ago. But... if it fits an A6, it will for the All Road. When I did my adjustable A-arms, the A6 version fit perfect. Not sure why it wasn't listed as a fit.

@@advalenti its weird cause most of the headlight listings for A6 on ebay say “doesnt fit your vehicle” when I click on it? I believe the Allroads in 2004 had Xenon HID lights too, so regular lights wouldnt work right?
