Hey question on doing the timing belt, water pump and thermostat on a C5 Allroad. Do I have to remove the whole front bumper, radiator and everything or can it be done in the service position?
That is what the service position is for... But considering how easy it is to remove the whole thing to the side (without disconnecting AC lines) - I just usually take the whole thing off for the much better access.
HumbleMechanic Not on the older B6 platforms my friend (couple of torx bolts and the connector and the light slides out past the bumper in situ), done it a few times that way on mine now! Still have the under tray to wrestle with though.
thanks charles. i'll be doing the water pump/timing belt on my 99.5 B5 in the future. i thought removing the front bumper was going to be a PITA but looks really easy, thanks to you.
how is the front bumper cover fastened to the impact bar? Mine is separated and not sure how to fasten them together prior to installation of assembly. thanks.
I’m having a hard time to put the bumper back on after putting the front end in service position. Those two long bolts that go close to the fog lights I can’t alignment them for sh*t any tips?
Hi thereI have just removed my "front bumper" BUT I did not have any of those long bolts 😐😐😐Can you remember what year that car was, I fully appreciate that it was first "Published on 13 Dec 2016" and you have slept since then, my vehicle is a A3 1.9Tdi 2009 plate, as a final thought I did it with BOTH wheels on and turning them lock to lock as requiredTony
HumbleMechanic is it possible to take the metal crossmember out of the bumper? I am just trying to replace the shell not the crossmember. just curious! Thanks! :)
It should be three bolts on each side not two and at the bottom left corner in the bottom right corner you pull out wood to release the tab before pulling forward
German-eering at its finest! I spell German cars CRAP. I think Audi should look at my Ford Ranger to see how headlights should be. Lift the hood pull the two headlamp release tabs and pull the whole assembly straight out, no tools required...Brilliant system. Way to go FORD. Germans are famous for taking something simple and complicating the fuck out of it at the customers expense.
This is one of the mosr consice, short and sweet videos I've seen on UA-cam. Thanks dude!

It would be cool to see a video detailing the key differences between Audis and Volkswagens.
I have a good buddy and co-instructor that is an Audi Shop Forman. I have been wearing him down to do that show with me LOL
Hi Charles, Thank you so much for your great work and awesome DIY demonstrations. You are always very thorough.. I love your videos.
To save jacking the car and removing the wheel you can just remove the headlights to gain access to those 3 inner bolts.
+Coldfin9er you have to remove the bumper to remove the headlights. With the wheels on, I'd turn the whee all the way to give more room.

Thanks a lot for the instruction! Could you show an instruction for removing rocker panel and the little piece between the rocker panel and the wheel?
thanks charles. i'll be doing the water pump/timing belt on my 99.5 B5 in the future. i thought removing the front bumper was going to be a PITA but looks really easy, thanks to you.
+dufftime sweet! It's super easy. Lol
"The whole front needs to come off" 😂
I don't think I've ever told you but your beard is epic.
+Mr.Mister thank you :)

Thanks mate! Easy and simple tutorial!

Why are all the cars there supported by wheels? How are they not rolling off?
That’s how they donut at this junkyard. Like having on Jack stands
@@HumbleMechanic looks funny as F.
I have a question are you at pick n pull if so which one are you at I need parts for my audi
does this apply to every audi? I have a 2014 audi Q5 that might need a bumper change, and I was wondering if I could apply the same technique
No I think that one is different
HumbleMechanic is it possible to take the metal crossmember out of the bumper? I am just trying to replace the shell not the crossmember. just curious! Thanks! :)
How do you fix loose front wings on the bumper of an Audi A4 2008?
Thanks!!
Hey can you do a quick video on removing the doors?
+bullet5760 there is one in this play list for the rear door
08 vw rabbit front bumper. little fenders on the side how to take them out and in bc my friend bumper tapped me and it came out. thx humble mechanic !
+EZ ThunderGaming the side skirt on the bottom? Feel free to post a picture on Facebook so I can check it out.
HumbleMechanic thx for the fast reply I msg u on fb
What about the grill

Man what salvage yards do you go to... those cars look mint!
+iiBetrayforAR this was Pull A Part in ATL
HumbleMechanic Damn, I live up in PA and all our scrap yards are usually just that... scrap yards LOL.
iiBetrayforAR agreed!
iiBetrayforAR They are probably rusty as hell.
u think I could swap engine (4cyl) from a Passat to A4 with different engine codes?
+kidzero1943 most likely but you'll need other hard parts like ECM.
Yeah I have a question, how do you do it for a 1995 A6 C4 Audi lol.
This video was better than removing the headlights to get to the three bolts.guess it depends on high up the car is sitting
Brother every time I get in to a q question I always get the answer from you 👍🏻 TY
🙏🙏🙏🙏
What's the T50 torx for?
+MWXYT the bumper bolts. I think an Allen will work to
Nice video. Should add a note that this doesn't cover all Audis. The B5 A4 has bumper clips instead of the nuts and studs. 👍🏼
+David F. Thanks!
and yet again Charles is able to get the job done without a BFH.
+Brad Downs haha. But this one had a lot of swearing. Damn Audi!
HumbleMechanic if you ain't swearing you ain't teching
Good job thanks
I just learned a skill that will never be used.
+Zooof Benez why is that? Not an Audi fan?
HumbleMechanic I like AUDI, I just don't see myself ever doing it lol
+Zooof Benez hahaha fair enough. :)
Can you just do one side of the bumper if your replacing a fender
Thanks for the Video!
Great video very helpful thanks!
But how do I remove a whole Audi?
HAHAHHAHA Nailed it
How bout doing a Beetle?
The only Beetle they had at the yard was missing the front end LOL.
Sounds like my luck, LOL!
I think you should do an audi timing belt video :-D Anytime i saw that on a work order i wanted to go bang my head against a wall...
LOL. I will be doing a belt on my Passat in the summer. So there will be a video of that.
Eazy👍

It's why Audi are well put together...
