    Does this apply for the narrowbody pre facelift? I want to replace the projectors. 90s HIDs are dangerously bad.

    Great video, not sure if my s6 falls into the bumper on or off category?? Got the light loose but can’t get it out

      I think all the V8 versions need the bumper taken off and only the normal A6 models can get by without removing the bumper.

  • @hansmuller1625
    @hansmuller1625 Рік тому

    My recommendation is to NOT do this with the bumper in situ on the A6. The headlight does not fold back behind the side panel without significant force as the outer of the top mounts is in the way. You will break one or both of the mounting points, scratch the glass and quite possibly injure yourself when something snaps.

    Great vid, but, that translucent thing your talking about at 5:37 is what broke on my car,,,, any idea what that part is called or do you have a part number maybe ???? thank you,,,,

      Hey there! I'm not certain if that part is available seperately actually. I'd have to look it up on the part system. The easiest bet would be to give Audi a quick call and ask them if it is available. They'll have an exploded diagram of the headlight components and should be able to see easily where the headplug plugs into the socket.

    Why do I have to remove the bumper? I didn’t see anything that involves the bumper?

    • @driverswantedtv
      @driverswantedtv 5 років тому +2

      You dont, 3 bolts and a connector clip. Angle the headlight and pivot it with outside section (blinker side) going in to get it out over the bumper.

    Hi, I have an Audi 2001- A6 ALLROAD. The rubber seal on the driver side headlamp is worn nearly gone which water enters the inside of the lamp. I been told and given an estimate of up to $2000.00. They said there’s no rubber seals that the hold lamp has to be changed. Is there a spray type of sealant I can use to seal the lamp? Thank you.

      It depends on where the leak is getting in, but generally yes they can be resealed. Don't pay $2,000, that's just silly money. A used headlight on eBay would be a fraction of that. Headlights commonly leak/get water in via either the rear door, or the outer seal. You can reseal the outer seal with a good quality clear silicone to make a repair you'd have to look for to spot (and not visible from outside the car). Remove the headlight first, get as much water out as you can and then leave in an airing cupboard/somewhere warm for the remaining water to evaporate off over a few days. Then seal and test. It's a little trial and error, but you'll get there. Best of luck!

    Loosening and removing the bolts in the back is extremely difficult to install. I don't see what happened to that part in the video. It's a pity that the most important part isn't shown.

    my connectors on the left side of my headlight are stuck, I tried for 3 days (tons of wd40) with no success. Probably would break them and buy a new one.
