Nice video. We just completely replaced all of my steering (everything from worm tube to tie rod ends) on my 1956 DJ-3A. It's still tracking a little bit. Would you recommend I let those components wear in a bit and then try to go with a tight steer?
1/4 or half. The fit will tell you how much if it started to bind. I went quarter. My box and entire steering system was rebuilt by seller, only the column shaft is original. Call Roger the inventor/owner of Tightsteer, great guy to talk to. He'll walk you through it all.
What the...?? Nobody has ever mentioned this gadget to me! The steering on my 48 2A is a little sloppy and this looks like maybe just what I need. KW's has them for $89, but Walck's has them for $80.
That would be going completely backwards imo, as the Ross box is WAY more antiquated than the Saginaw box in every way shape and form. Saginaw is far superior and a swap to a Ross system would be silly, personally.
hi there new to channel , see you r missing the heater . i have been cleaning up around here after messing with jeeps for about 50 tears (years ) i was about to put some heater things on eBay . if interested how close to you are to taylersville md 21771 . thank you john
Thank you for the offer but I already have a new heater core, just not installed. I have a past video showing the process of bypassing a heater core because the original was leaking.
Very impressive.
I always thought the best way to 'improve' a Ross box was to get rid of it.
Thanks for this instructional video. Well done!
Thanks for watching, gotta do dad duties. Lol. Great video

Does this help with Willy’s wobble at all?
Great video! 👍🏻
Thanks Roy!
Cool stuff 👍😎👍
I just bought the Tightsteer. The instructions say after setting it, to back off the unit 1/4 turn. You did a full turn? Am I missing something?

Can i use a Ross steering box on a 72 CJ5? It has an old Saginaw steering box. If yes, what modifications might be required?

Loss that glass gas filter it's a very serious fire hazard!
I’ve heard that from many people but I never had an issue. I no longer have the Jeep, so no worries anymore.
Loss the glass gas filter it's a really bad fire hazard!
