I love that Jane, I’ve got a 75 CJ5 that’s been with me for over 40 years. Done plenty of mods changed to power steering, T18 trans 33s and a 401 V8 to name a few will never sell her. Love your guys videos keep it up!

In 1981 I had a very similar 74 CJ5 with a Chevy 283, Rancho suspension and Smittybuilt weld on roll cage. Loved it. Drove it all over Great Lakes, IL winter of 81-82.
You totally made me smile with this video! My dad and I rebuilt a 71 cut together. It had the Buick v6 with a 3 speed transmission with a splitter. We put dual glass packs on it as well. My dad gave it to me as my first "car" when we finished. We used at as our hunting vehicle as well as my daily driver. My family made so many great memories in that jeep. This video made those memories flood back in my head! Thanks for making the video!

I had a CJ5 back in the late 70's.......I was just telling my son this week how I wish I still had it. And now I come crossed your video!! Mine was red with a black soft top. I put some Desert Dog PVC's on it with the old school white spoke rims. I miss it so much......but it was always in the shop for one thing or another.

Man i have a 78 cj7 been sitting for years. I started looking at pics of my dad back in the day with his 80 cj5 at deer camp Big Buck draped over the spare tire and decided it's time to get my jeep going and recreate it.
So awesome! I owned a '74 CJ5 when I was just out of High School. I paid $4,000 for it and thought the seller was too greedy. But it was without a doubt the coolest and most fun vehicle I've ever owned. This video brings back some amazing memories. I may never do it, but I'd love to get one again. Today, my $4K might buy some tires and shocks for it...

Back in the late 90s till 2003 i had a rock crawler all tubed up and drove it every winter in the black hill SD 30 bellow and more than 10 mph your eyes will freeze shut. Air down to 2 psi and it could float on 12 ft of snow. I would so drive that jeep every day top or no top. Union suit and coveralls id be game to wheel with you

Topless + doorless is what I do with my 1954 M38A1 (essentially cj5 but military variant) in the winter! I even park it outside so I end up shoveling my seats and stuff off. Fun stuff. I'm putting on a Tiger Top or Super Top soon...

I am a member of the Blue Jeep Club too. Have a 1st year Rubicon and a Hemi GC. Your jeep and more importantly, your garage rock. Here are my CJ5 stories. Both of my college room mates flipped CJ5s on gravel roads . One broke his neck and had to get a fusion and the other just major road rash on his father's ranch cause he didn't have the seat belt on so be careful on gravel with the short wheelbase. Neck fusion boy is hilarious. We would call him from different directions when we drank and he looked like MR. Robato turning his whole body around to see who was calling him. He is fine just can't turn his head.. Thanks for the memories, subscribed!

A few years ago I finished my 74. I'm in the paint and body business so it was easy for me to make it super nice. I put a 4BT Cummins, a Ford 4 speed, With auxillary overdrive. I did a proper spring over so I built a Dana Super 18. Two reasons for the 18 is 1- lower driveshaft angles and 2- I wanted to run the Saturn overdrive. I have 3:73's roling on 35's so the gearing is perfect for my purposes. It's my daily driver and I put over 22K miles on it since I finished it. I painted it moss green pearl metallic. I get tons of compliments, won a couple trophies, and get almost 30mpg. I love that thing, I'm never selling it! EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention I put in power brakes, power steering, big disc brakes in front with the 6 bolt caliper plates. Thanks for sharing yours!!

Real nice! Had an all fiberglass 75 almost same color blue just a shade darker, 78 trans am blue! With a mild built 304 3sp lifted with 35 inch Mickey's! Alot of great times in that rig! Only thing metal was windshield frame! High back buckets and i put pipe insulation on roll bar, really helped set it off! The only thing i wanted to do to mine and never did was front and rear lockers! Your vid is making me crave another!

Greetings from North Central Idaho. I own a 1974 CJ5 Renegade too. It is the same blue color with a white hardtop. I did however add power steering, brakes, disc & lockers. Got the same 8000 pound Warn winch with 150 foot of cable on it. I do carry an extra 100 foot of cable. Trying to keep the original look. Cheers!
My first Jeep was a 74 CJ5, 304V8 and 3spd manual. It was my daily driver for a few years. I lived in Michigan at the time. In the winter I would sill off behind the front seats with clear plastic and duct tape but it was still cold. I also remember when the YJ's came out they sold kits to convert CJ's to square headlights.
Now that was the definition of fun. I takes me back to using my uncle's CJ-5 on his ranch to hunt mulies and antelope. Thank you for sharing!

Greetings from North Central Idaho. I own a 1974 CJ5 Renegade too. It is the same blue color with a white hardtop. I did however add power steering, brakes, disc & lockers. Got the same 8000 pound Warn winch with 150 foot of cable on it. I do carry an extra 100 foot of cable. Trying to keep the original look. Cheers!

My first Jeep was a 74 CJ5, 304V8 and 3spd manual. It was my daily driver for a few years. I lived in Michigan at the time. In the winter I would sill off behind the front seats with clear plastic and duct tape but it was still cold. I also remember when the YJ's came out they sold kits to convert CJ's to square headlights.
