Honestly this might sound controversial I'm glad he's as well the games aren't not Canon, not because he's overpowered I just found him kind of bland There's nothing particularly interesting about him other than his power/skill, and overall story really doesn't fit in any variation of the Canon, and seems very universe breaking, and I didn't like how he was shoehorned into the formation of the Rebellion. The Rebel Alliance already had an origin story (or really a few of them), so him being necessary to get the important characters together cheapens them as characters. Now this isn't me defending Disney or saying games are bad I'm just that maybe the games shouldn't have been canon in the first place Edit: forgot to mention this but the games also made Luke Skywalker kind of pointless

Yeah I read somewhere that The Force Unleashed 2 on the Wii had extra levels and shit that padded it out more. I had the game on my PS3, and back then I was a little surprised at how short the game was. Felt more like a DLC pack to the original game than a full blown sequel
i see where you're coming from but i honestly think that's an even bigger indictment of TFU2 - "it's really fun but only on one specific platform" doesn't read as glowing praise to me

Jedi Outcast was just ported to PS4 and Switch. Jedi Academy is getting the port treatment in a few months. For some insane reason, even though I was a huge SW fan and mostly played licensed games for some reason, I never played them when they originally came out, so I just started Jedi Outcast earlier tonight to tide me over until Death Stranding and Jedi: Fallen Order. If they're gonna be doing more ports, I nominate KOTOR 1 and 2 and at least the original Battlefront 2, please.
Agree. I liked the first game. A lot. I liked the lightsaber duels. And the diverse levels. Also the force powers of course. This one, well, still had force powers.
You can’t possibly tell me that 1 had better saber play than 2. They upped the combos like crazy that made it so you try to avoid button mashing if you wanna have a good time. I’ll give you the levels thing tho...
The good thing about this game is how your lightsaber attacks were so fast and felt like you could shred a tank in 5 seconds. It's a huge improvement compared to the same basic four strikes from the first game that felt so unsatisfing.
I don't know my opinion is different I really enjoyed the combat system, it felt really balanced & the melee combat and use of the force and force lightning, it felt really good nothing was op. Made you really get feel for every combat form
I actually played the second game first and I absolutely loved it. However, when I played the first one... never touched the second game again. And then I never played the first one when I discovered a Jedi Academy mod, Movie Batlles II. It is seriously a fangame that gets fighting better than any other lightsaber combat system I have ever tried
I wish that we could just get a good what if story, like shadow war tying into lotr was its weakest point that and lootboxes and human nice shelob and making golem a good guy he was perfectly portrayed in shadow of Mordor why change it
Many of the points raised in this are solid but I can’t help but feel some of the irony in hearing him complain the game tells you everything and there’s nothing to learn and then proceed to never realize that you can chain multiple grapples together or that there are hidden special lightsaber combos. He also never realizes that the terror walker has 3 attacks

1. These games were best on the Wii with the handheld lightsabers 2. The Lego star wars game was perfect (depending on which one you bought I guess there were multiple)
Although the game was short, I truthfully did enjoy every second of it. If the game hadn't been rushed through development, I believe we would've gotten a true masterpiece that would have made the first game seem like a pale fake
I remember being so incredibly hyped for this game when it was coming out, got it on release day and enjoyed the gameplay and story a lot but was really disappointed with the length of it. I think my favourite part of the game was the dual lightsabers. There needs to be a good 3rd game tho
They shouldve made him canon, but made him like a folks tale, "He was, a clone, a god in the force, He pulled ships out of the sky, Took out the biggest monsters, and had LightSabre skills that could match Yoda, He used, Both the Jedi and dark side of the force"
I agree when I went back and replayed it I was realizing how repetitive it was. And the major flaws I still love it tho simply because I am a star wars freak lol
I rented this game and completed it in a night when I was like 12. I thought it was pretty good but then I realized I remember virtually none of it, and also the fact that I completed it in a night
To be fair, when I was 12 and just graduated from middle school, I got Kingdom Hearts 2 and beat it in one sitting. I think if you end up beating a game in one sitting, then it can't be a truly bad game otherwise you would've quit within an hour or 2.

Disney makes every Jedi so weak when they can do much more, Ray and Kylo's lightsaber fights in the movies are so boring to watch, they never use the force, they both have so many force abilities but Disney doesn't show them. I mean if Jedi Fallen order was a movie it would be better than the last three StarWars movies combine. Damn its a shame disney doesn't want to make Starkiller cannon because he has so much potential, Ray and finn are complete shit characters, kylo is cool i guess idk. If disney can't make a successful solo film on the protagonist ray then she shouldn't be the protagonist period. Thank god for the Mandalorian im done ranting
vBOG I’d rather have a more grounded approach like Fallen Order or the new trilogy has to lightsaber fighting and the Force than that Dragon Ball Z crap. The new trilogy actually takes the duels back to the roots of the OT by making them like Samurai duels. I should not be seeing two people having a duel Tarzan swing on a rope at each other while slashing at one another with their sabers. I shouldn’t see a Jedi take down an entire Star Destroyer from the sky with the force. I shouldnt see a Jedi throw a TIE fighter from the fucking sky with his bare hands like it’s made of paper. It treats the Force like it’s some sort of joke
@@turtleguyfan Bro no one was dueling while swinging on vines. The force is very powerful, Vader himself says "The power to destroy a planet is insignificant to the power of the force". The Force in the ot compared to everything else is hella weak so anyone could say Vader was a loon. All content outside the OT made the force the powerful ally it should be. Being able to pull Starfighter out of the sky makes you understand why force users are not to be messed with. Without that they'd just be normal people with a little bit of telekinesis and the power of suggestion, people you could just blast to death.
Char So basically if the way your saying it.. why would Jedi or users of the force NOT take over the galaxy they’re in. I mean it makes no sense. If the force is this extremely powerful thing to destroy planets and everything else then why are the Jedi almost all killed like it’s nothing, all they are is a knights order instead of some military feat that sends people to tremble instead of make a federation and robot army that scares the council to allowing the clone army instead of allowing just Jedi and force users to battle it if they’re that strong. I mean I’m not denying the force is strong but I mean Star Wars has always been about balance of good and evil so making characters that break the balance really to me breaks the whole story and lore of Star Wars and that nice magical touch it has. Can’t deny Star Killer does throw a DBZ vibe to it and I hate the idea of it
I honestly do agree with everything you said in this video. Playing as a clone and not the real one feels just weird and off. Also everyone around him tries to get him to join the alliance and stuff but he doesn’t care or knows about it. The fact that he is a clone makes it more weird even the ending where he lives with Juno. Juno has her lover now as a clone with no real experiences and connection. And with the dark side he dies.. the clone who you play so many hours with with no depth dies at the end by someone else who is a clone as well and also not the real one… it’s so bad..
I would really hope to god it wasn’t when there’s the old battlefronts along with KOTOR1+2 which are 10x better story telling just not as good of fighting since it’s more of a turn based style RTS dealio if your into that

I remember playing through TFU in my PS2 as a kid. Absolutely fell in love with the game, I loved the Jedi Temple the most because it gave me the creeps, and it had so many different enemies and areas, it was just amazing, it also felt like a long game which gave me hours of fun everytime I was alone at my house. But then I played TFU2 and when I finished the game I was literally like: "That's... it?", I never found TFU2 to be too interesting outside of the fact that hey Galen dual wields TWO sabers now! That looks.. cool! TFU2 overall is just an emptier game in every aspect, lacking the interesting story characters enviroments and gameplay of the first game, it's all spectacle and no substance, it shows you cool things but you're never actively DOING cool things. It's just a worse game than the first one.
@@thewilhelmscream7912 i was the same way. I was still setting there with the controller in both hands thinking something was about to happen lol. I felt like somebody just sold me a nice waxed new car and when I got it home it didn't even run anymore lol. I just been scammed
Yeah he seems to have not really explored the game at all, like he never realized you could do chain grapples, or the lightsaber combos, or that the terror walker has 3 or 4 attacks you can do
I couldn’t stop replaying TFU 1. Everyday, I’d play it for countless hours. Countless days. Countless fun. When I played through TFU 2, I liked the game, but at the ending level, I was burnt out. I liked the story played through once, but I was given little to no reason to keep playing. So I stopped after I beat TFU 2.
No honestly he's way too fucking powerful. He's like a main protagonist in a anime that's being going on for so long it's impossible for any of the villains to establish any sense of threat.
I think for a story focusing on the balance of good and evil star killer really didn’t do good in it other than for the people who just wanna see massive power and destruction. I mean he would throw the balance outta wack for one idk what that would do other than bring someone else either stronger or able to keep him at bay to bring a balancing to it all? Idk either way I never cared for characters that only do well for how powerful they are, not a DBZ fan sad to say
@@tw1ststrpe216 I just want Galen to have Justice. Don't get it twisted fallen order is a great game, but Galen deserves alot more than what he got and Disney messed that all the way up
I felt the exact same when I played it. Enjoyed the hell out of TFU 1 and was super excited for 2 to come out. I was one of those people who bought it full price and felt the exact same thing like you described. It was so unsatisfying to play. But have you played the DLCs? They followed the story of the DLCs of the first one where you pick the dark side and play a soulless version of Starkiller. Those missions were actually pretty great. I remember it got a really well made Endor level where you had a boss fight against Jedi Leia. But even this one was overpriced at its time and should have come in a pack of at least 3 levels to justify the price. I had hopes XD
I will say. I really enjoyed the cutscene where Starkiller and Kota reunited in the arena. It was sweet. A shame they spent the entire rest of the game arguing the exception of the scene where you first get on the Salvation with him.
I remember when I got to Darth Vader and was like surely Vader will escape and set up the rest of the game it can’t be this short. Then the ending started. That shit was mad frustrating. But at least the dlc gave just Jedi Leia. That was a plus.
My main peeve us that Koda just chills there while a clone of Galen just pulls up in full view of everyone and doesn't help him. Koda just stands there
I never played the wii version for II, but I actually thought the wii version for the first game better. It was more responsive and I found the powers just worked better. I also liked how it used more locations. It even had a few extra levels that was fun and added to the story
This review was spot on except for the fact that you forgot to mention that there was ONLY ONE LIGHTSABER DUEL IN THE ENTIRE GAME! Lol. The first one had duels with the boss at the end of every level whereas in this one we only duel with Vader at the end. And then there's the dlc mission. While the first game dlc missions played as a "What if" scenario for A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, keeping continuity with the dark side ending of TFU with killing vader and becoming the Emperor's new "apprentice", the endor dlc failed to do keep continuity. The endor dlc for TFU2 still plays as a "What if" for Return Of The Jedi, but ignores the continuity established by the previous "What if" missions of the first game by having Vader alive and a clone of Starkiller instead of Starkiller from the first game's dark side ending. In my world, TFU is still canon but TFU2 is not and I would be totally okay with a rebooted sequel that retcons TFU2. James Cameron says he is making the real Terminator 3 this year. It would be cool if this series followed suit.
Back in the day, I played games for graphics. Now that I don't care about graphics and only care about gameplay and story, this game disappointed me and I will never play this game again. I still play ps3 games even though I have a ps4 pro, and from that I don't want a ps5 because nothing has changed much from ps4. The lesson is "graphics don't make a game"
Honestly they should have kept him and his stories canon BUT make it so he no longer fights to live with and protect Juno eclipse. Finally however he lets his guard down and Juno is killed or at least seriously injured. An aging starkiller then at that moment being furious about Junos death rampages on killing many troops until he himself sustains a quite heavy injury. His legacy will then end with either him sacrificing himself again to reflect his good nature a la force unleashed 1 or have him retire for good as he can't let himself become the monster Vader wants him to be.
he doesn't, but yeah i agree he is a touch wrong. A lot of people disliked it like Kotor 2, but like Kotor 2 is was still a good game that had it's place.
Shea Doherty I disagree, I thought Galen was a very diverse protagonist and I also loved the story. It twists the reality of what’s real and what’s fabricated by Vader and still explores many of the greater themes set up in the previous title. I also loved how the dark side ending felt more realistic and was also equally as implicit in grittiness. I thought it was a well rounded game overall, story included.
@@user-vr5zk9ox8d That must be in your head. This didn't bother exploring it's themes, it merely hinted at them. It didn't really explore the themes of the last game such as hope, redemption, heritage or love. it was half a third of a game that rushed out the door like EA's Battlefront titles, except EA's Battlefront 2 has improved, and this game leaves a sour taste in the mouths in those who payed full price.
@@sheadoherty7434 nah. Jedi fallen order had the stupid darksouls style checkpoint system which I hated and had far less fun force powers and was far less action focused compared to TFU games.
I loved this game, but there is points. I love the character, the story, the feel of the game, everything. It's a shame that it didn't go as furfilled as it could of been
The first part of the story argument is actually dogshit, the second game was clearly aimed towards the diehard fans that played the first game like legit who tf plays a story game skipping the first instalment.
Why would the game waste time explaining who Juno is in the sequel? The whole point of a sequel is it doesn't need to reintroduce established characters.
Its funny watching this video and hearing the bit about Disney not being able to keep Starkiller canon because he was too strong, when Rey is even more stupidly broken and OP then he ever was.
@@andreiefectivuatafac1966 Starkiller is pretty OP, sure. But Rey is far more OP because she just gets stronger magically whenever the plot demanded it with little to no effort involved. Starkiller was strong because he was trained by Vader to fight, Rey is strong because... Just because.
@@GamersBlogX you are wrong. Starkiller is f invincible. He was able to beat Luke, Vader(2 times actually), Palpatine, Leia and Obi Wan with no problem. Ignore the fact that Starkiller had proper training to be a killing machine all you want, he still isn't as stupidly OP as Rey, because at least he had proper training to be as strong as he is. The reason he could beat Luke, Vader, and Palpatine, is simply because he knew what he was doing and his opponents were at a disadvantage in age (Vader, Palpatine, Obi-wan) or experience (Luke, Leia).

Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy were 2 of the greats back in the day. Multiplayer in those games was amazing and fun. Rip

Disney makes every Jedi so weak when they can do much more, Ray and Kylo's lightsaber fights in the movies are so boring to watch, they never use the force, they both have so many force abilities but Disney doesn't show them. If disney can't make a successful solo film on the protagonist ray then she shouldn't be the protagonist period. Thank god for the Mandalorian im done ranting
vBOG real shit Adam Driver (Kyle Ren ) carries the sequel trilogy
vBOG I’d rather have a more grounded approach like Fallen Order or the new trilogy has to lightsaber fighting and the Force than that Dragon Ball Z crap.
Char Obi-wan and Anakin swing on vines during the duel on mustafar. But otherwise I entirely agree.
Can’t deny Star Killer does throw a DBZ vibe to it and I hate the idea of it
It wasn’t THAT bad. The story with Juno and everything is very annoying, sure. But the gameplay is awesome
It’s crazy how fast something great can fly off the rails.

Hearing the beat to "Hope You Will Sing About Me" by Kendrick Lamar is haunting and a testament to the entirety of starwars 😟
I remember when I got to Darth Vader and was like surely Vader will escape and set up the rest of the game it can’t be this short. Then the ending started. That shit was mad frustrating. But at least the dlc gave just Jedi Leia. That was a plus.
I liked it. The first one was better tho
This game was really fun, especially in comparison to some games that followed...
My main peeve us that Koda just chills there while a clone of Galen just pulls up in full view of everyone and doesn't help him. Koda just stands there
Try the wii version of this game; you're gonna be really surprise when you see the massive gameplay and technical change that one went through.
The lesson is "graphics don't make a game"
game was fire it was just short asf
Honestly they should have kept him and his stories canon BUT make it so he no longer fights to live with and protect Juno eclipse. Finally however he lets his guard down and Juno is killed or at least seriously injured. An aging starkiller then at that moment being furious about Junos death rampages on killing many troops until he himself sustains a quite heavy injury. His legacy will then end with either him sacrificing himself again to reflect his good nature a la force unleashed 1 or have him retire for good as he can't let himself become the monster Vader wants him to be.

Not really. Jedi Fallen Order shits all over this. The story of Force Unleashed 2 is of The Last Jedi quality.
Shea Doherty I disagree, I thought Galen was a very diverse protagonist and I also loved the story. It twists the reality of what’s real and what’s fabricated by Vader and still explores many of the greater themes set up in the previous title.
