i remember the first time i was in busan on my own and was trying to find a place to eat. it was hard cause somehow a lot of places only accepted 2 or more diners. then i passed this small shop in some market which was cooking the most amazing smelling seafood pancakes. it was so gratifying to eat a whole pancake by myself especially in the cold weather haha
Going to try this one tomorrow, so far I have tried two of your recipes and my fiancé whom is Korean is contemplating marrying you or me lol thanks! His mom is watching your channel now to it actually was our bonding moment and how we have been spending more time together. 🙏🏽
Absolutely love these since the moment I first eat them. We don’t have Korean places to eat here in Scotland (I mean maybe in the big cities, I’ve not searched hard enough, maybe I’m I’ve just not looked properly), it’s mostly yet Chinese and Japanese restaurant galore. However I was in Jakarta Indonesian and they have hundreds of places and chain restaurants, so I had some Korean food and it was absolutely amazing, it topped Japanese Shabu-Shabu. I got these pancakes to go as I ordered far too much food, so I had it as a snack later that night and the pancake was so huge, it was like at least the size of a 12 inch pizza and chunky as hell and they had the dipping sauce with it. It’s hands down the most tasties thing ever. The way we cook omelettes is similar to korean way, but you guys just add more spices and ingredients to infuse it more with flavour and use seafood. Glad I found this video so I can make it myself and it’s so fast to make, it can be made as a quick and effortless meal which is convenient. Man it’s like 3am right now and already hungry and can’t wait until tonight to make this for dinner ❤️
New Follower here and I love this channel! I'm trying to recreate all these dishes, please keep the same format for all your videos because it's super easy to follow and straight to the point.
I was looking for a recipe for this and came across your video. You're fantastic! I'm looking forward to preparing this dish, and watching your other vidoes. Thanks!
I am such a fan! You have such a wonderful personality and Your videos are very very fun to watch. Your video quality is also always on point! I am rooting for you and your channel!
Yaaaayyyy I'm first 😁 so happy. LOL. Ahhhhhh love all your recipes, looks quiet easy and convenient 😊 must be tasty as well. Always wanted to taste Korean pancakes.
Nice Thearli! Oh that was quick - I was still editing the endscreens on the backend ;) If you see some seafood for sale, try it out - its so nice ;) Especially on rainy days! 🙏
Should not have watched this on an empty tummy. Now I gotta make it...rampaging in my kitchen. Oh I can come up with everything BUT the Korean pancake mix. OMG what can I do wo it? Hellllllpppp! ps g'luck with your military maneuver...maybe request kitchen duty? ! lol, thanks for fun VDO.
we have conscription here too. and reservist training is also really different here from the 2 years of full time training. thank you for your service xx
Just discovered your channel and am OBsessed! Editing and style of your vids in combination with you and Katie are so great. You’re both very likable! Special request, can you show how you would make a more standard version of haemul pajeon? Perhaps using frozen seafood mix from HMart? Thank you!
Such a coincidence you made pancake today because I had green onion pancake for lunch! LOL!! Can't claim to have made it myself (Asian market to the rescue), but I'll defiantly have to try this recipe out. Looks like another winner Daniel! I'm happy it ended up in your tummy and not the floor!
Great minds think alike ;) I'm telling you Rikki, if that thing fell on the floor... I would have 🔥😭☠️. I might have had to use the ol' 3 second rule... ha!
Katusa soldiers I remember from the 9 months I was there training in Korea, love your country and you guys were so awesome! My favorite dish was bimbimbap and sometimes the spicy fried garlic chicken
I’m not sure if you are able to speak on it but during the two years would you say the training is stressful and strenuous in a way that might cause sadness. I hope that it’s not too extreme.
Toni Sanoe Dela Cruz I was wondering why are the pancakes chewy... Future Neighbor commented on the chive pancake video that the pancake mix has starch powder.
Thanks Nathaniel! I think most Koreans are jaded by the NK events and don't put much mental energy to it on a daily basis (though I must add, things are getting hairy lately). But no use worrying too much about it - can't really affect the outcome. We push on! 🏄
I’m making spring onion, chives and carrot pancake and it turned out very salty 🤮 it was my bad because I added 1 tsp salt into my buchimgaru. I forgot that buchimgaru is already seasoned with salt lol!!! I love your vidoes and learning a lot about Korean food, keep it up!
wow serving in reserve military. do you have dual citizenship? that's cool! where did you grow up and live in the states and do you plan on living in korea only?
Yo Clingman! Hope you been well. No, I am a Korean citizen. I was born in Busan (oh yea!), but spent 20+ years in the states. Basically did all of my early + teen years in So Cal, then moved near Chicago for undergrad. But hopefully I make my way back to the States in the next 5-10 years?... I would be interested to try out Portland or Seattle 👍
Future Neighbor late reply, but I lived in Portland for pretty much my entire child hood and I have to say it's a wonderful place. And the food there is-😩👌 They're very famous for their food carts. So I say go for it😊
Could I just ask you to write the ingredients in the description? Cause sometimes it's easy to forget an ingredient when looking at the video and making it at the same time.
Hey Shems! Welcome to the channel! Yes, we typically have the written recipe on www.futuredish.com/ within 24 hours. This recipe should be up later today 👍
Future Neighbor I’m so curious and this may actually be a dumb question for me to ask But do all men who move to Korea have to join the Military? Or were you always a Citizen or Korea?
I thought you must put bonito flakes and barbeque sauce on it. Anyway i agree that you must take out whatever left in that squid intestine when cleaning them. Those are nasty if they get into your stomach.
Haemul pajeon .이라는 고유음식 이름을 맨 앞에 두세요. 그리고 싸푸드 펜케익이라는 이상한 이름은 내레세요. 그건 한국 음식 이름 아니죠. PA-JEON!!!!! THERE ARE MANY KINDS OF JEON, YOU KNOW.
I am born and raised in the US but love Korean food and trying new things from around the world. Pancake can refer to anything that is 'pan' fried from a batter into 'cake' or patty form. In America these are called seafood pancakes. I grew up eating what my mom called salmon patties. Made from canned salmon, green onions, and a similar flour and egg mixture.

I mix. sweet dark soy sauce and sriracha chill sauce for dipping sauce. It is. my grandma tip. Thank you for your vdo. From thailand

Yep..we’re same here in the USA Army...it’s all about ‘hurry up and wait!!’...nice vid..!!
Loved the Ah-nuld impression!
Katusa soldiers I remember from the 9 months I was there training in Korea, love your country and you guys were so awesome! My favorite dish was bimbimbap and sometimes the spicy fried garlic chicken
Can we skip the Gochugaru for non-spicy dipping sauce?
I’m not sure if you are able to speak on it but during the two years would you say the training is stressful and strenuous in a way that might cause sadness. I hope that it’s not too extreme.
So if you don't have the Korean pancake mix on hand, will just flour do? Thanks
Looks so good, can't wait to try 😋
Wow, this looks fool-proof. I can't wait to try this!! Thank you
I typically don't eat seafood but I would eat that pancake! thanks for the recipe!
Our pleasure Yaynie! Welcome to the Neighborhood :)
This is the best food ever😭😭😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍
question. what should texture be like? crispy all the way thru, like Japanese tempura or softer in the center like an omelet?
Toni Sanoe Dela Cruz crispy outside soft inside. If you want it tempura texture make it thin.
The ones that I had were a bit chewy in the middle and crispy outside. The chewy part reminds me a bit of mochi rice cakes.

I was wondering why are the pancakes chewy... Future Neighbor commented on the chive pancake video that the pancake mix has starch powder.
Binging right now. Broke up with my Korean gf. Miss her and the food. Waaah
Ah mann - sorry to hear!! I need to take you out for some soju and pajeon. Or better yet, makgeolli and pajeon!
Get a new Korean gf :)

Thanks Nathaniel! I think most Koreans are jaded by the NK events and don't put much mental energy to it on a daily basis (though I must add, things are getting hairy lately). But no use worrying too much about it - can't really affect the outcome. We push on! 🏄

Greeting Jhutan! Yea awesome - excited to see how your first dish comes out. PM us if you have any questions ;)
Do you add salt?
I’m making spring onion, chives and carrot pancake and it turned out very salty 🤮 it was my bad because I added 1 tsp salt into my buchimgaru. I forgot that buchimgaru is already seasoned with salt lol!!! I love your vidoes and learning a lot about Korean food, keep it up!

Made in Busan. Raised in Killa Cali ;)
Future Neighbor I’m so curious and this may actually be a dumb question for me to ask But do all men who move to Korea have to join the Military? Or were you always a Citizen or Korea?
@@raquelk.2960 It's like any other country; only citizens have to do military service. Daniel was born in Korea, of Korean parents.
the battle you will win is Iron Chef
😂😂😂 who would've thought squid toenails ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Just realize your Korean name was on the uniform. Perks of knowing how to read hangul 😜😜😜.
You have eagle eyes 👀!
I thought you must put bonito flakes and barbeque sauce on it. Anyway i agree that you must take out whatever left in that squid intestine when cleaning them. Those are nasty if they get into your stomach.
