Thank you so much for your episodes, it really helps me as a young Korean American to cook the dishes I love so much (my mom just does everything 대충대충 😅 so it’s hard for me to replicate), one request PLEASE to do 떡만두국
( dduk mandoo guk) for new years. A mandoo recipe from scratch would be amazing too!! Thank you so much for these videos please keep sharing!

So many good tips in this video, thank you. I see many mistakes I have made in the past. Too bad it is so late at night or I'd go try to make one right now.

I fell in love with seafood pancakes when I first had one at a Korean restaurant and have been trying to make them as good at home. Have been fighting gumminess and think the problem has been batter that is too thick. This video is probably the best one I've seen because you have so many good hints in it. I wasn't sure what "frying mix is" so I Googled the Korean name and saw a photo of a bag of "Surasang Twigimgaru, Korean Frying Batter" tempura mix, which I have in the house. I had already experimented by adding some of that to my batter because I accidentally bought it, thinking it was pancake mix! It did make the edges of my pancakes crisper, but I think I will follow your advice of a one to one mix of flour and icy cold water. I also like your idea of adding some water to the dipping mix because the soy sauce flavor can be too strong. Yesterday I made some seafood pancakes with some seafood from a bag of mix from Aldi's. Looking forward to trying your method because I expect I will make my best seafood pancakes yet. Thank you for sharing your expertise. One more thing - I was watching a UA-cam video by a Thai cook who cooks all sorts of Asian food and she suggested that regarding soy sauce she would use a sauce from the country for that recipe and I had some Korean soy sauce in the fridge, and used that - usually I use Kikkoman. The Korean soy sauce was absolutely the BEST!

Unni, is the frying mix the same as the original paejon mix you used? Tip #3.
I'm sorry for sounding confused 😊

oh no problem. Pajeon mix is Korean pancake mix (buchim garu) and frying mix is twiguim garu (aka tempura mix). You don't have to use it if unavailable. Enjoy!

Hi Thanks for the heart ❤ however do you have a response to offer. Not sure if I need to buy, as I’m apprehensive to flip as i haven’t made where presentation counts and hours looks soooooo good.
