- Finally taking a look at the new Wooting 80HE. This finally gives us a form factor closer to what people have been asking for along with some other improvements that may result in less customization than we've seen before. But do you NEED to mod this board? And is it still best-in-class now that so many other hall effect boards are out there?

To clarify one point regarding sound and feel: I have a VERY high bar when it comes to this bc of my background in customs, but on the gaming keyboard side - if you compare the stock sound and feel of the 80HE to the Razer Huntsman v3 Pro or the Steelseries Apex Pro, the 80HE absolutely walks on them.
does it dance on them with fancy footwork?
@@MikeNovelli I would say yes :)
Will you be reviewing the new GMMK 3 HE?
Ordered mine in May said it be here in Oct. But got email update now saying Nov.
The audible sigh before having to say out loud, "Rappy , Snappy" lol
I know this isn't ground breaking at this point, but the big difference to me is the Wootility software. Their software is leaps and bounds ahead of almost everybody else's out there.
Thanks for the always useful and entertaining content Brian!
The Lekker V2 manufacturer is Grain Gold/Hejin. They make many magnetic switches including the Geon Raptor HE and Raw HE switches. 👍
The jade pros and maxes will dunk on any other switch. The maxes are going into my 80he
that snappy tappy joke got a HOWL out of me
Got my 80HE ghost version since last week…
Great sound and feeling when typing. Fast and so easy to configure for gaming
Lovely RGB lighting thanks to the transparent case…wow!
Yes expensive but good customer warranty and service, regular firmware updates…this keyboard can last multiple years and still be up to date.
I think still not as expensive as going custom KB modding, which this board also allow…
Its for sure not a bad purchase. ❤
ur so lucky im still waiting :(
@@TheDragonDesigns when did u order?
How.... they are not shipping until November?
100% going for a Wooting as my next keyboard, the overall package is just SOLID af , I respect that and I'm willing to pay a lil more for that quality !
At this point, right now, with other potential options on the market, you are also buying peace of mind in Wooting's top tier 4 year warranty. This trumps every other (that I've seen) manufactuer's warranty period.
That’s nice, but you also need to take into consideration that Wooting has very poor customer service support. You will likely spend a month trying to get in touch with someone to help you take advantage of this warranty claim if you need it
@Silver_Joystix This is true only so far as the size of their support staff compliment versus the boom in customer growth is concerned. They are actively staffing up and expanding this department. Right now, you are 100% right that reply times are much longer than a customer would like. Will that remain the case in 6 months from now...I don't believe it will.
One issue with the chinese wooting clones is their software is often a bit inconsistent in game. It'll work 9/10 times but every so often you get a random press or release that doesn't work. They also tend to be scuffed with updating new features (for example many chinese clones now have socd/snaptap - but their socd still has a lot of quirks and bugs to date).
was gunna say pretty much the same thing, alot of the clones fall short on real world performance, do they work yeah for the most part at least well enough for most people, but ive seen some weird inconsistencies all the way from the rapid trigger reset falling further and further down till the key just wont press unless you let it all the way up, to the rapid trigger (on adjustable RT set at .1 catch and release) causing dead inputs till you turn it down to like .3 -.5 in the RT settings
While i do love the Gat Jades, I definitely recommend checking out the new Geon Raw HE switches. Coming from the enthusiast side of the hobby, I was very impressed with them in my own 80HE
Do they have better stem wobble than the lekkers? That's my only real complaint on the 80he
I have WS Dash switches in my current china HE board, those will get a new home when I get my 80HE.
I love the Lekker V2 switches! I put them in my 60HE with the Alumaze case, and they’re night and day compared to the V1. I prefer the 60 weight because the 45 feels too light for me when typing.
No way. The 👑is coming out Tuesday. Can't wait.
?
I love Wooting, the products are so good i can skip this model and wait for a 98%. Thank you wooting! Please keep setting the bar higher!
Clear review! Thnx for this! 4:32 My space bar from my prebuild Zinc Alloy already sounds like your spacebar (after).. 🙂
Thanks for the review! I don't normally comment but your review came at such a great time. I've been debating between the 60HE and 80HE myself.
I do really appreciate the universal PCB layout of the 60HE like you mentioned. I wanted to pick up the 60HE module do I could slot it into my own 60% case but I do like my arrow keys and function row. So the 80HE is definitely a tempting one.
As a side note, I miss the "Are you ready? Let's go!" Haha that always made my day
You can just remap some of the other keys to arrow.
You should try Geon RAW he switches
So glad the latency part was addressed. Happy to know this is just a different form factor from wooting and functional nothing much as change from the 60he.
BadSeed Tech, Thanks for posting this video
Excellent review, mate! I tried the 60HE but was pretty disappointed in the build quality. I’ve been using the Keychron Q1 HE for several months. It quickly became my all time favorite keyboard. The 80HE looks promising. Still deciding if I want to drop nearly $300 on it, though. First world problems, of course. 😉
DadSeed video? I'm here. Especially excited to see your takes on the new switches
Man you gotta review the zenblade 65 from pwnage. For a 65% keeb, it sounds amazing and looks and feels premium for 200$.
This keyboard is amazing. The only thing that i think they should really improve on is the stem wobble. I know that's kind of hard because normal mx switches are stabilised by the leaf, but i think it would really improve the sound and feel of the keyboard if they found a way to innovate in that area
The software has been the best software I've used.
I didn't like the look of the Wooting 80 HE case, so I chose the Keychron Q1 HE. Totally worth it! It sounds, looks, and performs amazingly.
Have you tried the sticky rice switch? They’re another open magnet switch that manage to sound good despite this design choice. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them
its a very good keyboard, i missed my dedicated F keys and arrow keys, im coming from an apex pro mini and the 80HE sounds way way way better, i havent played any games with it yet so im not sure how performance will be compared to apex pro
Is there any reason to consider the 80HE over the 60HE+ Module other than form factor?
Not really. Improved sound and feel but functionally they’re the same and I prefer the 60HE bc of the smaller size. If I had to use only one keyboard for gaming and productivity, I’d go 80HE
Love your videos, do you plan on reviewing the GMMK3?
I feel like compared to all the new alternatives, Wooting really is behind on the price. You can now get HE keyboards for under $100 fully built with basically the same latency. The difference though is that Wooting really does pay attention to detail and has more competent software designers.
Keep in mind I haven't bought the 80. I am thinking of buying the module when the 3rd party cases come out though
Hail to the king Baby!!! 👑
3 months to get it in France, i dont know ….
Is there a king for a FULL 104 keys keyboard?
Wooting Two HE
Just get this and a seperate numpad, you can put it on the left side too to gain more mouse space.
I’m waiting on the g915 X.
I mean is it ok that the keyboard is jumping up and down while you press the keys? I mean, on my Wooting 60He its not like this. Im worried, that it will be unpleasant to press keystrokes while whole keyboard will jump due to force applied... it seems like this on the video
If you dont mind and if you have pudding keycaps can you post the picture in community or anywhere else combination of pudding keycap and pcr case white?
what are some of the wooting clones that you reccomend
great review! clear focused and unbiased, good job.
Gotta compare against the asus new rapid trigger keyboard
👀
My Two HE is shipping soon.
What about V1.5s
I was told by Wooting the complete assemblies come with Lekker V1.5 instead of the V2s...
3:07 zipper pulls... You don't have to wait endlessly for months for replacements. Trust him bro. (If you know you know)
80he comes with v2s
@@JakubixIsHere I guess you are correct. They are putting V1.5s in the Two HE and the 60HE still instead of the V2s
The lack of availability and wait times are always going to keep me from even getting one. I can walk into a microcenter and get any other keyboard today.
The price and having to wait 3 months is deli erate and ridiculous..there big enough now to not have to do that..but they choose to make u wait to seem like its exclusive
It's a good keyboard if you want to use it to cheat with xim matrix
Ive moved on from Jades to Geon Raws
I don't understand that layout, to miss out the SCRLK/HOME/END column for a few couple of centimeters, I use at least HOME/END very often. Also, having the cursor keys a bit more separated and having a second control button (e.g. for CTRL+PGDWN) is better, at least for me.
Why couldn't they just make a normal TKL instead of the weird boxy 80%
Because of the LED bar
@@Effos so unnecessary though
@@Ka11zerbecause they like it ✨unique✨
@@sandwich-plays it looks like shit
@@Ka11zer It's one of the main selling points of the keyboard. It's very functional and I can't imagine wooting making another keyboard without an LED bar feature
Over priced low quality metal case combined with an uncommon layout that can't be easily swapped to a higher quality case. Wooting has made themselves(hopefully temporarily) irrelevant to me until they do better.
900 dollar for a keyboard and I'm still stuck in diamond in Valorant. 200 for a plastic keyboard, LOL
The problem is that you're playing Valorant.
@@CharlesB21 everyone gets all gassed up for these overpriced gimmicks and prob has a extremely low impact on game play. Just another company pushing sales with flashy marketing
@@Jcabby31because you’re a noob lol, it’s really only good for pros
Valorant player lmao are u 5?
great review and imaculate beard
Venom60 by Geon is better than this
Yoooo
Does this mean i have to throw away my boog75?
Someone on the wooting discord told me I must be braindead if I can't feel the difference between 1ms and 0.125ms
I feel like the 80HE is overpriced, alot of other companies are now offering a POM plastic bottom on their v2 switches. There are numerous options now that are competitive with wooting at a lower price point, but similar build quality. I think my next board will be the NuPhy Air60 HE.
Drunkdeer A75 > Wootings keyboards
Would be great if it wasn't being banned on the few games it'd be good on, great vid tho!
?
Bad info, let's keep it in perspective. There's two *features* banned in one game. Not the board. And that's out of like the 8 other features that make this board top tier.
Nah the fact they didn’t do a 75% or TKL after everyone asked them to is some troll ass shit. This layout is so ugly
Late to the ring..seriously there are seriously better keyboards and just as good softwafr like the made 64 pro by melgeek
How I remember made64 had horrible software
3 views, fell off.
