I’ve been eyeing this desk for a very long time, so naturally I’ve watched hundreds of videos on this desk. Your video is by far the most informative and professional review I’ve seen thus far. Great video, definitely subscribing.
I just got my Secretlab magnus pro a few weeks ago. It's an absolute blast! The only major-ish downside with it is if you buy the Desk Riser accessory you won't have easy access to the cables in the back anymore if your desk is against the wall. Another minor gripe is that it would be great if you can choose which of the legs handles the power extension chord. In my case I would've much preferred it if it was on the right leg. The desk by itself is amazing and has everything you need. So me complaining about an extra accessory should be proof of how well made these are. Oh and the PC mount is the greatest addon you can possibly get. That's a must
Secretlab sent me the same desk, and I have to say, I agree with everything you said about quality. I've had a lot of desks, and the materials, assembly, and attention to detail are incredible. I put this thing together in my basement studio, and I dont think I'll ever get it out without completely disassembling it. The heaviest desk I've ever owned.
Thank you for being clear and concise on wobble. Here’s hoping Secret Lab has a 4 post option in the works, I’ll buy day 1 if I can play FPS standing with 0 wobble.
Great video! Been using the Magnus XL for over a year now to film on and love it. Recently checked out the Corsair Platform 6 which definitely rivals the Magnus but each have their own unique features.
I have the Magnus Desk, and I agree that it is amazing. I had a few desks before it, and the moment you open the box and start pulling the stuff out, you realise how good the quality is, and how well designed it us. The cable tray is amazing.
I've had some personal issues with the quality of Secretlab chairs. I purchsed a Titan 2022 model for use in my dorm, and it's incredibly noisy. Squeaky hinges, lumbar support, and rattly armrests. Unless they've addressed these issues, I don't see myself buying another.
my house has 3 secretlabs chairs (one ive had for 6 years or so, one thats a 2020, and my GFs chair) and none of them even make a sound. They have a super good warranty, probably should have gotten that taken care of early if it was such an issue.
My old secretlab titan was one of the most uncomfortable chairs I’ve ever owned and has turned me completely away from buying other gamer racing style chairs
I can confirm and verify this comment. Mine does the same thing. My lumbar support was very squeaky and the arm rests are very “rattly.” I sent a support ticket to SecretLab and they sent me a whole new back piece. No new arm rests though. For the amount of money I spent on two chairs, I’m sure I can get a less noisy chair with the same amount of comfort.
Glad I saw this. I've been in the market for a sit-stand desk, and there's one I've been looking at on Amazon that will go on sale for $200 or less, so this is 4x the price of that, but you get so much with this, and cable management is big for me as my desk space is such that I can't back it up to a wall, and have monitor, laptop, console, lamps, charging cables all over the place.
Really blows my mind how much secret lab has done so much better. I had their titan in 2020 and I was so so about it and went from that to an Aeron, to a gesture, and now I’m about to go secret lab again. That softweave is NICE
I have to admit, I never check your channel before. I'm just planning to buy new desk, to replace my old office one. I'm really enjoying the visuals you present, and at 1:40 I'm already a subscriber. Now let me listen to your desk review.
I'm currently using an Uplift Desk and it's been nothing but reliable. However, as I look at overhauling both my rig and workspace, I've wondered what else is out there. While everything from Uplift works, I like the added integration the Magnus system has, and though I can't quantify it, the PC Mount sitting so flush to the rails looks SO clean. I've always looked at Secret Labs as gaming gear worth passing over in favor of other brands, but thanks to this video I see I need to reevaluate. I wish they offered a solid white desk mat instead of the cream color, but otherwise damn, I'm impressed.
I was stoked for this desk when it was announced. But once I saw the reviews for it wobbling, I went elsewhere. Glad to see they made adjustments to fix that. Maybe ill revisit the idea for my next desk
Looks organized and clean as usual. The desk looks well designed and good looking. At some point might possibly upgrade from the Costco sit/stand desk to a larger one like the 70" Titan Labs one in the video. Also someday, will be buying one of the Titan Labs chairs. Almost ordered one a few years ago but went with the Costco Gaming chair that was $139 on sale. It has been my favorite chair. We have (3) of them. After about 6 months they develop loud creaks that you have to silicone spray the base to get rid of. Other then that they are very comfortable. If the Titan Labs chair has similar comfort but not fake leather that will peel and flake off at some point, that will be the next chair choice for sure. Thanks again for covering your latest setup. As always, I did NOT SEE ONE SPEC of dust anywhere! Hell of a clean setup BadSeed!
During COVID I purchased 2 of the Magnus Pro XL desks - one for work and one for personal use. Both are great and came very well packaged - they are very heavy though. It would be nice if the cable tray was just a bit deeper though - some power plugs have difficulty fitting on a thick power bar. The PC mount is great! - I have one on each side - one for the PC and one for the subwoofer.
You make great videos. The filming and editing is so good... it already makes us want to buy everything. And the reviews you do are a great service. So, get these sponsors and get paid. We know the game. You deserve it.
That Secret Labs desk has had me drooling since they launched it. Metal and Magnets, DOH! From the full desk pad, super easy cable management, nice deep desk; what is not to love. I am curious however if they have considered some adjustemtn to the design for the upse of a UPS with your rig? You could plug the power strip from the desk into the UPS but if there is more than the monitor and PC asking for power this can create some issues. Would be neat if they did a second power connection on the desk (kind of like they did the network) so that one connection could be for on battery and the other on surge.
It has its own replaceable protection fuse in the foot of the desk. And the power cable itself has a different connection than any ive seen before. Not sure if its rates differently or what. Fattest power cord ive ever seen in a residential environment in my life for sure.
Thanks for the video, especially (still watching) for the brand Secretlab. I'm going to have a new room for my computer and stuffs in 2025Q1, and I was thinking about that, and using Flexispot desk and chair. Now, that could be that combo Magnus pro / titan evo... 😉
Awesome video Brian! I actually have exactly the same two chairs as you, down to the colorway and size of the secretlabs haha. I’m with you, I weirdly prefer it to the HM. I’m 6’ 270lb, so a little heavier, and my hips just KILL me after 3/4 hours in the Herman miller. Once I got the XL SL Titan, I haven’t hurt yet and I can be in it for 6+ hours easy. A lot of people shit on them, but for big or heavier guys, it’s the move
Hey mate, what would you recommend for monitors for someone looking to game whilst watching content/sports, streaming on twitch/recording for youtube? I was thinking dual 27 inch monitors probably makes sense for that use case but I cant decide what.. the best monitors are oleds, but oleds are expensive and can burn in... but they're so much better than anything else! Was looking at the new g60sd from samsung as it has good discounts for launch but no reviews of it anywhere
I’ve been interested in this desk in the past put the thing that concerns me was the desk mat I just don’t know if all my mouse pads I use for fps games would stick to it or would they just slide all over the place
I would still go Ergohide, though the price is x3. Better cable mangement (2 doors with power socket inside the door) Custom size. Solid wood. Curved cutout. Wireless charging built in. Much more options on customization like swapable laptop holders and speaker stands. Plus, to me, black desks looks like a cheap Ikea desk. Solid wood never gets out of style.
I've had a Titan 2020 for a few years now (sadly right before the 22 Evo came out) but wanted to point out - if you're in the Logitech powerplay/magnetic charging ecosystem, you might have issues with metal desks. Induction does not always cooperate well with metal/magnetic desks, YMMV.
Damn it, Brian. I pulled the trigger on a chair. For all the shit that "Gamer chairs" get, my decrepit old DX Racer was the best chair I ever owned. I couldn't take it with me in a move and the two "REAL" chairs I bought to replace it fell apart in a about a year each one after the other.
I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of that Astronaut keycap? I'd like to purchase one for my new build. Great video by the way, never comment but always find myself on this channel for reviews/information on tech!
Cook Edit: Really sold me on the desk and the cable stopper thingy for the keyboard Once i get around to buying that 480hz 1440p oled that Asus is dropping later this year, this desk is the very next thing im buying and ofc, great video as always
Got the same desk and similar setup but instead I also bought the PC holder that goes underneath the desk itself. Huge game changer for me to better enjoy the XL magnus pro 🙌
Did you build the laminate slat wall using individual pieces of laminate or was it more of a modular 4x8 or 4x4 kit combined to fill the wall - It looks super nice.
They come in pre-assembled sections that measure approx 10ft x 1ft. The laminate version comes 2 sections per pack so they cost half as much as the hard wood. BC this space is a rental, they are hung with two screws at the very top of each panel. Cutting around the outlets, fire alarm, etc was easy enough with a plunge cutter and a jigsaw. It really helped the acoustics in this room as well. You can check them out at Wood Veneer Hub.
You know what I've realized when I was putting together my office room? The best kind of setup video are the ones that go into full detail on everything. The paint they used. Love it. Happy for you 💪 SecretLab if you read this, I was already a few times in touch with you and still waiting for a bigger desk 2000x900 (+/-) 🙏 But it looks like this will never happen. It's already the second year of waiting. I would like to grab other accessories too but until size matters, I cannot...
In regards to the chair: Keep in mind that he's got the old Aeron Classic version, which has a few issues improved by the Remastered version. Not saying what issue he's having will be solved by it, but yeah remastered is a better chair for those wondering.
Ngl I always hate cable management, not because I can't or don't want to do it, it's because whenever you do it, you kill any modularity your setup had. Oh, you wanna swap your speakers? Well better look for a podcast cuz that's gonna take an hour to undo and redo... This is the only acceptable cable management solution I've seen. Most of the other features of the desk just stem from the fact it's metal - really handy for all the magnetic stuff but then again, all the magnetic features can just be made with other means and most of the features probably won't even be used by most users. So the only stand-out feature of the desk is it being a stand-up desk, which is yet again a polarizing thing cuz why pay a premium for it when you don't really need it. Love the concept and would totally consider something along the same lines just for a non-standup desk tho, but then it'd have to be reasonably priced to replace my kitchen counter on ikea legs which I love to death.
2:51 Not the Bradley Martyn jab 😭
I came looking for this comment- haha

Awesome setup, bro 🔥. That Secret Lab stuff really is legit.
Thanks bro, yours came out great too! This desk is seriously nice.
Wow, I wasn't expecting so many improvements on Uplift's desks! This is a serious contender in the space and one I'll be keeping my eye on!
Dang! Studio inspiration on another level!! Thanks I am in the process of switching it up so this was super helpful.
That's an awesome setup! Excited to upgrade my overall setup to something close to this.

Ty for the content…. Great desk. Love the use of magnets.
not going to lie its a really dope desk and for the price even better! Great Video always.
I’ve had my SL Omega black chair for over 6 years and it still looks brand new. Love me some SL products. 🎉
Nice! I just purchased my dream home and I hope to get my office desk set up like this! Love it!
SICK!
Love your content, as always, BadSeed! Keep it coming.
Can you please tell me what felt desk mat that is at the beginning of the video? The one at 34 seconds 😊
I knew it. An amazing setup video complemented by captivating narration and inspiring videography. 10/10. ❤️
Absolutely beautiful new setup!
God I absolutely love the exposed brick.
Is it safe to run everything from one wall out let? Even if using a surge protector?
Setup looks so good. Would've loved some more aesthetic overall shots in this video
6:48 isn't that just like doing an extension cord with a surge protector ehich isnt recommend or did secret labs have their own little trick?
It has its own replaceable protection fuse in the foot of the desk. And the power cable itself has a different connection than any ive seen before. Not sure if its rates differently or what. Fattest power cord ive ever seen in a residential environment in my life for sure.
got the magnus pro xl maybe half a year ago - not cheap but 100 pct worth it. love this desk

Do you know if the pc bracket support could hold the O11 Dynamic XL Full Tower Case ?
Outstanding video and breakdown of this product.
Does the monitor wobble on the arm? I've never found and arm that doesn't make the arm wobble when I type.

Killer video Brian!
Will you take a look at the Drop Alt v2?
Did you have any problems with the keyboard having magnetic switches with a magnetic desk?
I've had a Titan 2020 for a few years now (sadly right before the 22 Evo came out) but wanted to point out - if you're in the Logitech powerplay/magnetic charging ecosystem, you might have issues with metal desks. Induction does not always cooperate well with metal/magnetic desks, YMMV.
Are those style chairs good for work as well as gaming? The seat padding seems geared for reclined seating rather than upright.

Beautiful video gave a like. BM lol Funny looks great setup man light is perfect. Love the blue.
secret lab definetely best of the "racing style" chairs but still prefer the aeron, super clean and beautiful setup tho Big B
power strip / surge protector recommendations?

building a new desk/space/environment for gaming and work at home, thanks for the inspiration for some neat ideas

link to background image? Or is that a wall paper engine background?
That's a custom that I recolored out of a stock video. Can't distribute this one due to licensing issues, unfortunately.
Looks like it’s time for me to upgrade the desk. I’ve been looking for a 70 inch desk but I’ve been concerned about bowing. This looks like a win.
Great Video as always but damn your Channel really makes it tough to hold onto my savings with all the great stuff you show us here haha
Peeped the palace tee 🔥

Btw what’s that tube cube thing you got there?
anyone know where that long ass wrist rest is from?
Im asking the same!!!

YES, I love watching setup videos for ideas but too many of them are just grovemade ads and not much else.
Thank you very much!
Sick setup 👌
Keep up the great work
