Like ill think about getting some work done, but also think about eight other things at the same time. With my meds I can yk, slow down and focus on one. It isn't really an excuse but I do feel like shit a lot of the time, I think im getting better though. Meds help a ton but obviously I cant just yk, take meds for every single thing that needs to get done, doubt that'd be good lmao.

The meta is that all teachers are just variations of this. We don't require teachers to be good at anything prior to teaching; they just get an education degree to learn how to regurgitate on an average level.
Many teachers today openly talk about their sexuality and kinks to underaged kids and never plan on having children of their own. It's disgusting to say the least
It's sad that people care so little about their children that they put them in public schools, even though their own experience is that 90% of school time was a waste.

Laziness is a virtue only when channeled into efficiency. I have a friend who didn't like the tedious parts of his job so he made some scripts that automated 90 percent of his work load. As a result he got promoted to a "new position" that requires him to do a task (usually the company's worst time sink jobs) until he figures out how to do as little as possible work while still accomplishing his task. His coworkers got reassigned to baby sit the systems he built or to more profitable ventures within the company.
Or the individual was basically a plant set up to make a story.
Basically a paid actor to make any sort of movement look bad.
Because if you can't find the news.. you just make it.

This is the same thing that Colbert unintentionally did with the representatives from 'Occupy Wall Street.' They were so obviously ridiculous their exposure to normal people ruined the credibility of the entire movement. This needs to happen more. Shine a light into the dim, moldy, fissures in society and show normal people what actually lives there.

Most Social Justice ideas can only thrive in darkness where they cannot be examined. Don't de-platform the people pushing those ideas, grab them and stick them in front of a microphone and a camera. If they make a good point, debate it with them. It's possible that they may be right about some things, and those things should get their due examination. They are most certainly wrong about a lot of other things and that should be exposed as well.
That's the problem with ideologies in general, they are built on foundational ideas that cannot be examined without risking the entire structure. Sometimes those ideas are right, or were right when they were adopted, but often they are wrong. Don't fall into the same trap. Being correct is more important than winning every rhetorical battle.

Silver lining, this should have taught us something: Gatekeep thine communities. antiwork and workreform didn't do this and allowed commies in, leading to this. I guess there is a second lesson. Don't have your community be directly accessed by reddit.
Those communities were started by socialists/commies though.
It actually became MORE moderate as the population of those subreddits grew. So this was actually the reverse. A bunch of extremists didn't gatekeep their community because they wanted the growth and wanted to indoctrinate mainstreamers. They let too many mainstream people in too quickly without indoctrinating them quickly enough. The mainstreamers got a whiff of how fringe the leaders of the subreddit are while still having some semblance of sanity, and were horrified.
The actual lesson is this: Most reddit powermods are losers. Don't expect too much from them. I say this as someone who modded a mid sized subreddit of around 100k members. I was definitely more of a loser during that time.

@@TheLurker1647 my understanding is that those working class people sort of “took over” the sub as discontent workers wanting just better working conditions grew and antiwork was “close enough” of a subreddit and things kind of grew from there. Then this mod made an absolute fool of themselves and pretty much blew the subreddit up which is a good thing since I think optically, antiwork is such a bad name for those looking to improve working conditions and this is the action that changes things up.

Does Doreen/AbolishWork realize that being a good professor is literally a 50+ hr a week job? My wife is a professor and she spends a lot of time off her 8-5 campus time working on lesson plans and grading. Granted she teaches English and goes above and beyond om her grading and suggestions. She will literally write 3 pages worth of feedback on a 5 page essay.
Capitalism isn't "inherently adversarial". It *can* be adversarial, but it's also extremely common for companies to work together and negotiate win-win contracts.
I think dev meant adversarial between interests. Less likely for workers and the company management to agree on something.
I am working on my MA and a Corrections Officer. My MA is taking longer than I thought and work gets stressful. But thanks to this person I'll never feel like a failure now.
Working for the prisons isn't admirable. Most of the drug offenders shouldn't be in prison (that's kidnapping) and the people who are actually in there for violent crimes should just be on a combination of probation plus work to pay back their victim, rather than learning how to commit more crimes in prison. Prison is 5000 year old technology.

Do people actually know what PTSD is??? My girlfriend was raped as a child and suffers literal traumatic flashbacks, panic attacks, and horrible insecurity related to sex as a result of ACTUAL PTSD. This isn't PTSD, it's a hilarious attempt at framing feelings of guilt as something people should feel sorry for you about.
PTSD has been co-opted by people looking for a bulletproof shield and it disgusts me.
They can claim vague victimhood and attack your morality if you question them, because you're "harassing" someone who's experienced "genuine trauma".
People who are actually suffering from PTSD don't bring it up in every argument, they're too busy trying to move on with their lives.

I personally have had several traumatic things happen to me, but I don't have PTSD, because I'm able to process and move on more easily than some. """Victims""" online act like any sort of inconvenience is enough to give them PTSD.

It’s genuinely disgusting that the thing tries to use a very serious mental illness as a shield to justify the horrible and disgusting behavior and hell, I doubt that the scumfuck actually felt remorse for what it did to their partner because if it did, the mod would’ve just apologize without making any excuse and piss right off instead of portraying itself as the victim and somehow, making things worse.

I gave up on reddit pretty quickly. Literally everywhere, it was just awful.
When they don’t even credit the original founder of Reddit on the website, y’know they don’t give fuck all about freedom of speech. I only used Reddit for gaming shit and a few memes, but otherwise I don’t miss leaving it behind one bit. The thing that made me give up Reddit for good was me learning just how easy it is to manipulate the website and how that manipulation is used to promote pro CCP propaganda and whatnot.

I've seen people talking about this, but this is the first time I'd watched the actual clip. I figured it would be cringe, and it was, but I honestly wasn't expecting the Fox host to treat the person with such kid gloves given how ideologically opposed their position is compared to the ethos at FOX. It looked like he genuinely felt bad for the person while being amused by the general absurdity.

A truth too many people refuse to accept is that without work, it’s impossible to survive. Just look at food. Food needs to be grown. That’s work. Food needs to be harvested - also work. Food needs to be processed, packaged, shipped, and cooked; all of that is, you guessed it, work. Work is inevitable. Without work, the utopian society that these people want - heck, any society, utopian or otherwise - cannot survive.
As a result, there are three solutions to the problem of work: 1) do it yourself and feed yourself and your family; 2) have someone else do the work in exchange for money, which you earn by doing other work; or 3) force someone else to do the work for you while you lazily leech off the benefits, which sounds like what most of these antiwork people want.
Do you know what we call that last one? Slavery.

I am independently employed. There are times when the work goes dry (except over the last two years. With no one working I literally can just get as much work as I want). If you manage your money properly and bid work appropriately you can live fairly comfortably without working insane hours.
Realistically this has always been possible in the system that exists. The thing that actually limits it are taxes and government overreach. If big brother got off our backs having a profitable independent business would be much easier. Everything that the anti work groups advocates for makes it more difficult for an individual to become independent because it puts the expectation on the government to fulfill these opportunities (which they won't)
