Imo it kind of feels correct to me. We have seen a shift further leftwords for basically the last few hundred years. The only time, "right wingers" shifted the culture, was through military coups.

The question is: why would they be expecting him to go on the offensive. Surely the man just wants to grill all alone in woods and not preparing some kind of assault on a White House or something. Some of those people, including the one who initially stole the tv, could start getting bolder with their crimes. As well as, because businesses will be leaving the over economy of the area will decrease leading people to poverty and causing more people to get desperate. Which in turn makes even those who initially wouldn't commit crimes to get by, might and those already committing crimes to then become bolder more so. So it isn't that I personally value the tv more than a human's life, I value the positive consequences of removing such a human from the community over the negative consequences that such a person would bring."

There is nothing wrong with valuing your weaknesses as virtues, so long as those weaknesses are the reason for your virtues. Being kind and openminded is technically a weakness, accepting change is risky and often not worth the pay off, yet even then it's still considered a virtue because it's an act of submission, a lowering of ones own word and truth to accept that you had it wrong and someone else had it right. Virtues are only a true weakness if you don't value the concept of virtues and morality to begin with. They require self sacrifice and discipline, along with a true moral dogma to uphold. I don't suppose I need to explain why a person without morals would not value these attributes. In the end, virtues are only for those who have principles, standards, and a strong sense of justice. Otherwise they mean nothing to you, especially when they aren't held up to the standard like society was originally structured to do. Im not saying that the brutal culling of humans was a necessary step in any part of human history, but as degeneracy begins to take hold of people once more, I do wonder if the culling was for a good reason. Then again, human history has proved me wrong before, and where there's a will, there's a way.

@@juststripes3392 I've seen schools in the USA espouse that too. (though it being California makes that something up for debate if that's the USA or not.)
My parent's had two views on it. My father was pissed I had gotten caught. "If your going to be violent, don't let them get away!" Which initially stunned me, I'll admit. But my father elaborated to, essentially, 'if you get caught, that's because you didn't plan well enough.' which really worried me at the time.
My mother's stance was much more reasonable: "Violence is the last resort to solve problems, you use it once you've proven others don't work. Once you need to go there? Win. Honor is something people who won decide on. Fair means you are doing it wrong. If you can, avoid killing or maiming, but winning matters more."
I eventually figured out that my dad had rarely used violence in his life, but his solution to a fist fight was running someone over with a car and dumping their body in the countryside grave he had already dug. Ironically, my mother had used violence a lot more often, then had to explain to her father why it had come to violence. Since it worked, I went with my mothers methods and it put in me good stead.
My own advice for kids? "Do what you are told first. Go report it to the staff or whatever they tell you to do. If they don't fix it, then it will be up to you to fix it. When the staff get mad at you? Point out to them they didn't fix it, so you had to step in. Make sure to get your parent(s) to back you up to the staff, because sometimes your parents can get the staff to _actually_ fix problems."

I'll explain: anime, especially the more popular shounen titles, all have characters that take responsibility and fight the problem head on. On the other hand, take Steven Universe for example where they essentially just hug it out or cry to solve the issue. Anime inspires people to be better versions of themselves, ex. (Ironically this is the definition of conformity.) Hence why Oli London coming out as "trans racial" was met with vitriolic opposition from the left: even though the identity he adopted was marginalised in their rulebook, they think it's cultural appropriation, thus contradicting their ideology.

In my country (Sweden) when we teach people first aid we teach the LABC (It works in Swedish). LABC is a acronym that stands for Life threating situation, Breathing, Bleeding, Shock.
LABC is meant as a priority guide, what to do and look for first. The reason that L is first is that you first much check if you put yourself in a life threating situation to save someone else. If you have to risk your life to save someone, you don't do it. There is no point of having to save two people instead of one, or lose two people instead of one.
What is sad is that most people in Sweden don't seem to understand their LABC and instead go for their feelings.

I used to be a person who swallowed the narrative of life being unfair. I was the guy who became pessimistic; blaming society as well as other factors for my ills. It took the discovery of Christianity to accept who I was. It took an organ transplant to take personal responsibility for my life. It took severe anxiety and depression due to being a prisoner in my own home to embrace self improvement and become the man I am today.
Life is never easy. It takes, courage, stoicism, individualism and independent thought to determine your direction and purpose. Things may not always go your way. You have to accept there are certain things that you cannot change. Everything else can change as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort required to get there.
The bridge between dependence and independence takes time to build but has to be started by laying the first foundation. No one else going to do it for you. It's up to you whether you're going to construct it or complain it's not your job. The choice is yours.

I find that so weird cause Christianity preaches the exact opposite. We are not alone in this world and what affects one will affect us all.
Christianity has always been against individualism and always stressed community. Your worth is not to yourself but in your gesture towards others and pride is the biggest sin to be weary of.
My experience is exactly the opposite like what you described. Only after I let go of my ego to try to bend the world to my will did I improve. When I accepted that I am just a part of society and need to do my part and allow other people to help me did I get anywhere.
Sitting around doing nothing indeed doesn't get you anywhere but pretending you can change your circumstances on your own is equally foolish. People change their circumstances by finding people like them and working together. We never would have gotten the labour conditions we had today if our ancestors just tried to work harder to get a decent life. They got a decent life by having the courage and the selflessness to see the common interest they had with their fellow workers.
"Independence" is a myth. What separates a boy from a man is interdependence. That other people rely on you just as much as you rely on them.
I think countries should reinstate a conscription service but not exclusively military. Also have them be civil and mainly caring jobs and other jobs that involves them encountering the people they likely wouldn't encounter normally.
I believe welfare and civic duty go hand in hand. We give to the state in terms of service and taxes and the state gives back to us.

    • @MrMarinus18
      @MrMarinus18 Рік тому +1

While I applaud people who want to take actions I do find it concerning how individualistic many seem to take it. We live in a society so what affects one will affect us all. It's the most important lesson from Christianity from me that the sins you commit will be punished at some point or another.
I am glad that we finally see labor unions again. Of people no longer just surrendering themselves to the whims of megacorps but actually taking action themselves. Companies won't give you what you are worth out of the kindness of their heart. You have to fight for it to get what you are worth. Not by blindly doing what the bosses tell you but by swallowing your ego and organizing with others and striking even if it's dangerous.

We take care of our own, and in trade, we are strong, assertive, and competent people. If it all goes to the crapper and the system crashes, do these people honestly think that they are going to survive to make it to the utopia? They really think that we are just going to let them take it from us with no resistance. For example, i was never taught to cook. And once i was forced out at 18, i spent nearly over a decade just eating out or making simple meals. After feeling ashamed about my lack of cooking and how it could help me be more appealing to a partner, i buckled down and went to a used bookstore to find cookbooks. I found some non intemidating reciepes and now I looking forward to trying new things. I know its not great, but its better than where i was.

Arthur Chu talking about "the gospel of weakness" is just... so cringy to me. People who live easy lives, I've noticed in my interactions, are less likely to appreciate strength, because its something they've never needed. I recall one person saying that being physically strong wasn't necessary in modern society, but declined to comment on infrastructure maintenance or emergency services.
I realized recently that I really do hate weakness. Mostly because I see it in myself. I lack discipline in a lot of areas, and I have a bit of a temper. Not being in command of oneself strikes me as weakness of character. I see that in myself, and I despise it. But you know what I don't do?
I don't accept it. I don't recognize it as something I should tolerate. So I'll fix myself. One day at a time.
