The expensive mews houses of London (think Kensington and Chelsea) were once "garages" at the end of the garden. It's becoming fashionable in costly cities in Aus and Canada to convert the garage into a "Lane House" which is essentially the same.

I love the Westcotes area. There used to be a pub on Latimer street, two terraced houses knocked into one, don't know whether it's still there. Could that have been what the Gold Label sign was about?

People living in garages ain’t knew m8,in certain areas of London people exploit new arrivals and charge them upto £1000 a week to let them live in them. Happens everywhere

I live in one of the flats on fosse south and they're poorly maintained, council doesn't care, had to fight to get a proper lock on the gate as smackheads kept camping and doing drugs in the court yard area.
