Nothing like the metal bands of the 80's
I'm 54 and I remember this group on MTV Videos letting you know about that it was when I was in my Teens okay
@@scottwoodham7842 same here
I'm 56, and loved metal. But,....HATED them dressing likes f- -'s!
❤❤❤😊
My best friends mother’s name was Jane. I’m an only child and I grew up sleeping on their couch most weekends. She was a second mother to me. She died of cancer when we were 21 and she was 41. I still think about her most every day, and this song has special meaning to me. I’m 50 now and it’s hard to believe I’m so much older today than she was when she died. And he’s still my best friend. If I would have had a daughter, I would have asked his permission to name her Jane. Hold the ones you love close, it can change in a moment. I love you mama.
🙏
Man it's scary how similar your story is to mine. My best friends momma was named Jane and she died of stomach cancer when I was 19. 1993. She was hard on us but fair and was a great lady. I don't think she liked me very much but I always admired her strength. He and I would always make it home for headbangers ball every Saturday night and she would let us crank up volume as much as we wanted. Great times.
I have the same story. My jane passed at 39. She was the best human I have ever met. I was very young when she passed from cancer... but I miss her every day. She was so special to me. I love you jane!!
It's so sad that only music from this genX touches the soul.
LL that was some very heart felt words man you sound like a very good friend to your Brother an it’s a shame you had to loose your 2nd mom an with them words I wish you would of had a daughter but Life isn’t over until God brings you home so maybe it’s not too late to bring baby Jane in the word 😉
Oh I wish I could go back and relive my teenage years in the late 80’s! Hair bands were the best!!!
I’m with you on that one!!!!!
Check out Gunshine….
...And u look so good!
U can and are every time the glorious music takes you back
Awesome music 🎶
This is one of my ALL TIME FAVES! Im 44 yrs old and these kids today have NO IDEA what great music is! Boy do I miss those days. 80's early 90's was the best music! Rock On Peeps🤟🤟
So true they still listen to it though it's so awesome!!! We had real music in the 80s and 90s
My grandson is 20 years he's an 80s hairband junkie, im 54 he knows more than I do and I grew up in that era
Preach it sister. My oldest nephew is 27 and has no idea about this awesome music. It’s still the only music I listen to. Todays music is nothing but crap
im 13 years old and my parents always listened to 80's and 90's music while I was growing up and still do because well im still just a teen and god 80's music is so good, so is 90s but 80's has its own feel to it like motley crue, poison, ratt, skid row, warrant, etc. there is so many good bands and they all give me chills because of how good their music is and especially Def Leppard or Queensryche... those 2 bands are my favorite 80's bands of all time
@@kerryzapata9971 wow that's amazing
Hair bands kicked ass in the 80's. I know i lived it. At 54 im still crancking it up. The music will live For ever
I, at 47, wish the 80's would come back & stay 4ever!!!! I miss the 80's & our hairbands!!! But we'll make them live on!!!! Hell yeah!!!!
I'm 40 myself, but grew up on this and 70s rock.
Yea man, I'm with ya.
You damn right!
I was there, it was awesome
I wish we could go back and relive the 80's. I miss the hair, clothes, and most of all the greatest music EVER!!!
I do wish that myself.
Anyone have a time machine, I want to go back and go to some of the concerts of big hair bands. Great music and I'm enjoying it 40 years later.
I’m right there with you! I miss the 80s so much. I just don’t recognize this world we live in now.
52 and still feels like yesterday. If only it were!
Rite .... but throw in the 70's and its deal lol
tracii might be the most under-appreciated guitar stud from this era
Brilliant
I'm 47yrs Old Still Listening to This Music ☝️
I got you beat by 15 years and still loving this
Me too❤
And 49 here....miss these days of music
48 and loving this still
Мне 62 слушаю с удовольствием.
Man, i'm so glad i was a part of the eighties and all of the awesome Hair bands! Now at 51 i miss them so much. hang on to your youth as it slips away before you know it!
buckbuster6213 hey you don't have to miss that music .. please take a look to new hair metal bands ...sunset strip now is in Sweden
buckbuster6213 speak for yourself man I'm 45 and I still feel like friggin 20 lol.
Funny thing is "they can't top the music from the 80's"
I think the band Hardcore Superstar is from there. They are a great sounding band and definitely have that 80's sound to them, at least on their self titled newer release.
Yeah me too except that has changed in the last year. I'm 43 and 1 year ago i looked 29. My beloved girlfriend passed away from pancreatic cancer and it's amazing how stress can age you. I went from 29 looking to probably late 40's and it truly makes me sick. I can't stand going to where ever, Walmart or a store and being called sir. They'll say thank you sir, like it just makes me feel so damn old and i hate it. And then when i see people walking into Walmart or just out in public and people see me from a distance and think i'm young and then they get up close and see that i'm older and give me that phony dismissive smile. Can't stand that either. I want to be me again and live somewhere where age doesn't matter.
who used ta watch head bangers ball?? Looked forward ta that all week long.I started watching it when I was 13.Hot summer nights hanging with friends staying up all night windows open with that cool breeze cmn through watching head bangers ball and after we would make rock videos with the cam cordercorder with my friends.Lip singing and air guitaring with drum set in back round Skid Row,GNR,Dangerous Toys ,Bang Tango,Metallica,La Guns,Junk Yard,Motley Ctew,The list Can go on.A part of my youth I will always treasure but still listen to all of it now and then and still have my rock videos of me and my friends which is fun ta watch and look back at those times .
sounds just like my childhood!! great times!!
Yeah,,, when I hear these songs it literally takes me back to a certain moment in my life,,,, when I had what I thought was a profound moment!!! Anyway,,, you explain it well my friend. What about blind melon????? Tesla,,,,??? Freaking killer
This is how I like music. Its not to heavy and gritty like the 1970's metal sounds. It just has a clean, clear, and pure sound with lyrics that have feeling. Its a shame we don't still have this.
@@candyman5749 it sure is my friend. We were around listening when the FUNDAMENTALS of rock and roll were prevalent!!
You said it brother!!!
Played this song at my wedding in 2018. You wouldn’t BELIEVE how many people came up to me asking who sang this song. Crowd loved it!
cool..
Hay video ??? saludos!
All both people...lol
Uncultured swine(From Toy Story)! 😝
Saw them in 2002. My son was five and this was his favorite band. The venue was adults only, so I brought a CD to get signed. My son drew a picture of a dragon for Tracii Guns. Tracii went straight to the tour bus after the show. Got the other band members' signatures and asked if they could give the pic to Tracii. The manager took me to the tour bus and Tracii was kind enough to sign the CD and put the picture on a wall of pics on the bus. Such nice guys. My son still has this CD (I put it in his Easter basket that year).
Damn, your a cool mom. Im 41 and grew up to this music, however, my mom still thinks "metal music" is negative, awful, and at one point likened it to the devil LMAO!!! I Wish she would have taken us to concerts growing up! Oh well, i have a concert on my own now, every morning i wake up and mKe coffee...then i blast songs like this.
@@dimitrioskultukis2358 I've been thinking of that point of view lately as I watch these old videos and read the comments about how they touched peoples live, especially as teens when things were tough.
Don't close your eyes' by Kix, 'House of pain' by Faster pussycat, 'Love song' by Tesla. Some of us weren't taken to church and needed something. Music was a lifeline back then.
Is that Phil "dabbing" at 3.08-3.10? Wow decades ahead of his time.
LA Guns, another 80’s ballad band that was very talented and didn’t get enough respect back then or now. 2021 and I’m 44 and still rockin it out. Cheers peeps! 😜🤘🏼
I'm 40 and still rocking this kind of music. My kids are 11 8 and 4 and can almost sing all these songs word for word
I'm 45 and hearing this for the 1st time in at least 10 years. Still love it!!

This is an amazing tribute song to my daughter that passed away at 5 weeks old in early 90's. It was played at her funeral, and brings tears Everytime I hear it.

I'm 17 man ik bands from the 60's 70's 80's and I only like a few shit from the 90's. I know more bands than most adults born in these decades.
They came to my house after a concert one night w Faster Pussycat and hung out. Best night of my LIFE!!! Acoustic guitar, bud, and beers. Texas living baby!!!!

that was so cool. I like the Faster Pussycat too, these are great 80s band
That is so awesome! What a great memory to have!!

I came to this video from Faster Pussycat House of Pain, needing my old metal fix tonight. That must've been a night hard to beat, good to read about it here.
One of the best ballads ever written.
yes
VERY, VERY perceptive❤ and I agree
So true that the 80's were extremely special and there really is NO REASON why band's couldn't begin to redo "the 80's" right now and forever more!! Rock on!!! Form new bands, write new songs PLEASE ❤️
I’m a 19 year old guitarist. I have the image of an 80’s rockstar. I look a lot like Tommy Lee. Tall skinny. Long permed hair. Earrings, long cross earring.
I IDOLIZE THE 80’s. I would love to start an old school 80’s sounding band, but a lot of young people don’t want that. They prefer all that 90’s grunge alternative rock nirvana shit.
im gonna turn 60 in march ive lived all kinds of music
There’s 100% a reason why bands couldn’t redo the 80s: most of them don’t have the soul these bands had
They do the band is called Guns & Roses 🌹
80’s hair bands will always be the best era of music ❤️
Good time in life,,so many pretty ,pretty women that were in the world at this time...
@@coyote-killr I agree what happened to all the pretty girls
True. The 80’s was the best time growing up. Wish I could go back to those days again. Life was fun and simple.

I'm an 80's child and wish times and music today could be like 80's again bcuz it's the really really good stuff back then
Glad I was there in that era...I really feel bad for the youth of the U.S. right now.
Bob Silver yup.
It’s ok, we don’t feel bad. We have all the music you had (if we want to listen to it) and more

The music of the 80's, we were all dam lucky to have lived it..
It was a good time!
What a shame this era didnt last longer. Good times, good memories, a great part of my life.
It had a good 10 years though. I hate grunge for the end of this era, but I also like a small handful of songs by the grunge bands. Nothing compares to this.
@@shanebroussard6262 It would have been cool if the two genres had been able to coexist. I love grunge, but it sort of killed the fun, party attitude that a lot of the hair metal thrived on. Grunge was great, but it was also kind of a buzzkill, attitude wise. Sometimes you have to shrug shit off and enjoy life, and the hair metal attitude sort of lived on that. Plus, a lot of the music was really good. Oh well. Both genres are gone now and were in the new musical era of whatever.
@@chriscampbell9191 maybe hate was a strong word. I disliked a lot what grunge stood for as you mentioned. They had some decent music with some of the bands. I am pumped that a lot of the hair bands and bands from the 70’s are touring again. I was to poor to see them in the 80’s. I been seeing a lot of them lately.
@@shanebroussard6262 I've been catching some of the videos of 'hair metal' bands' shows online, old and new. Lately I've been getting more into Dokken and George Lynch (there is an awesome show he did in Japan in 2013. Great tone). Also some old Ratt shows with Warren DeMartini. During the hair band era, all of those guys could really play. Peace.

BEAUTIFUL LETTERS OF ONE OF BEST SONG OF 80s SALUTED FROM PUERTO CORTES HONDURAS
Awesome
I’m 17, but I grew up listening to old rock ballad songs because my family often listens to it. This makes me feel nostalgic on my childhood days, where my bro often plays this song along with Guns N Roses’s.
Same
Love hearing stories like yours my family was the same way our world revolved around music, music has always been a time machine for me to enjoy memories of the times of yesteryear, music today doesn't even come close to the 80s music scene 💯🤘✌💙
I was raised along the same lines. My mom was crazy, but she was a true 80s woman. She loved hard and when she made mistakes she hit pavement hard. She’s gone now, but I was with her when she went. She was the best.

LA GUNS ,HOLLYWOOD ROSES, GUNS and Roses Great 80's LA music
If I remember correctly, Hollywood Rose and Hollywood Roses were two different bands.
@@gringo3002 The Hollywood Roses is a GnR tribute band. Hollywood Rose was the precursor to Guns and Roses.
2:11 The solo in this one is beautiful, in its simplicity and tone. Loved this band and this era... to my last breath. One of many bands that nailed the "seedy-strip" vibe perfectly. Always wondered what would've happened if I stayed in my hometown of Hollywood, CA instead of moving away at 12yrs old in '84. (sigh) onward music and memory.
I feel you brother!!
I didn't grow up in California, but I hear what you're sayin'. I grew up and still live in Colorado, but I think back to the 80s when bands like Warrant, Poison, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Cinderella, and one of the best...LA Guns, ruled the Sunset Strip. The solos and riffs of these bands just seem to capture that California, Sunset Strip sound and vibe you mention. It takes me back, and though I didn't live in California, I have taken a couple trips there, and this song, and songs by the other bands I mentioned, are a soundtrack for me, and take me back to better days. Long live the 80s, and long live hair-metal!!!!
Barbarian Reaver Hell yes! Glad to see I'm not the only one... who feels it all so intensely. -Best

Steve Sullivan Exactly - he doesn't over-cook it. Interesting to read of the rivalry between Tracii Guns and Slash back in the day in Slash's book.
Still to this day when this song gets to 3:40 and the classical instruments kick in, it gives me those good "you're fully about to tear up" chills. This song is just perfect. The arrangement is incredible.
so glad and lucky that I was in my 20's at this time

I never knew this song was about Jayne Mansfield. Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis still bring it, now they are older, great chemistry. It is one of one of my neighbors' favorite songs. They love it when I turn up the volume on the weekend. The knocking on the wall matches the base drum. Semper Fi.
That's exactly who it's about
Her legacy lives on today, both in the success of her daughter Mariska Hargatay and the rear under ride guard mandated on every semitrailer on the road, commonly known as the "Mansfield bar", protecting others from the same fate she suffered.

One of the best ballads ever written !!! Long live LA Guns !!!
You know that Detective Olivia Benson on Law & ORDER SVU is the daughter of Jayne Mansfield, who they are singing about?
And she still has a scar on her forehead from that fateful night.
This **IS** such an amazing ballad.
TBH, every time I see an 18 wheeler and it's "Mansfield" bar, I think of this song. I so wish it got more respect because it deserved it, not just musically but the memory of the impact of the incident in 1967, and how it carries to this day 50 years later- and beyond. This song, about Jayne Mansfield and her death **literally** impacts all of us driving on the roads.
What a wonderful legacy for her- preventing others from suffering the same fate as she did.
To this day her story is told to new trainees getting their CDL.
I think vocals are just lost in today's music....there we so many amazing vocalists back in the 80's...

one thing about 80's rock ballads, it really brought out that strong emotion needed in the song
Johanson Fernandes Ya know, I read most all replies before I comment. If there are any truer words spoken about this or any other 80s rock ballad, I haven't seen or read em. Only one thing I'd add, and this is purely my opinion, the acoustical guitar stands alone in the better rock ballads!!!!! Maybe because I love to hear that sweet acoustical sound, but it really helps to set the music apart. Just one older guy's opinion.
Melody of real musicians ,🤗💕
I'm still swiping at the hair near the left corner. My hands are tired.
No doubt...Don't care what kind of music you like, with their power ballads, these 80's hair metal bands managed to capture some emotion that no other music genre could ever replicate

It doesn’t hurt much to have an upside down Stratocaster, a layered wedge cut and a killer string arrangement. A notable if only tangential connection to Guns N’ Roses is also pretty useful in getting you signed. Ultimately, it’s a matter of all the right elements coming together, like Kelly Nickels and his fingerless leather gloves. Totally rad!
I love gnr but it seems to me they took some pages from the LA Guns days .

I miss the 80's...This music will never be forgotten
One of the better power ballads from the glam era. Miss the 80's for sure!

this is a heartful ballad by a glam metal band, proving they can make the best kickass music whether heavy metal or ballad!! :)
Rest in a forever heaven paradise Steve Riley. Died at 67.
I'd try to find a time machine to go back to the 80s...pure music, fun, girls 😜etc. who will come with me?
I will
@ras20rosa+ I'll join you. I'd love to live the eighties again, but with the knowledge and confidence I now have!!
When you find the machine, call me, I really want to go back, spent to much time working and partying, did not hear alot of this music on the radio.
Man, if I could live those years over knowing what I do now...
@@leehuff2330exactly…that’s it….
This is one of those songs that you never get tired of...
RIP Steve Riley thanks for the memories
Every band in the 80's had a power ballad. I don't know how I made it through that period without hearing this. I heard it on the radio today for the first time and it hit me like a sledgehammer. Epic!
I was 20 years old when this album came out. I’m now 53. Gosh it was a lifetime ago. The 80’s was the best decade of my life. I’d go back and freeze time in a heartbeat 💓 🎵🎵🎵
Wow I remember I'm 50 now an man does this bring a tear to the eyes. Such a bitter sweet childhood back in the 80s ill turn it up
God, I think I was in 8th grade/early HS when this song and the rest of the glam bands came out with their power ballads. Watching this video reminds me how simple life was back then and the great times I had.
