I have been searching about palm rejection performance of Apple Pencil 1 for hours. Finally you have answered my question. I appreciate
Same to me
Great review. Good that you mentioned how the absence of the laminated display creates the tapping sound when writing. I do screen recording of my notes with voiceover and share them to my students and having that tapping soundcould be a distraction to them. I know now that iPad Air 3 is the way to go for me. Thanks!
You did a great job by bringing in 3 party stylus... Due to a debate on your recent video😁👌
What was the debate about?
this video is exactly what i was looking for and very informative thank you!
Very helpful, this video is the only one I found that explains perfectly Note taking on iPad experience
Thanks for your review! 🌟The palm rejection is extremely important while writing on iPad🥺
Im deciding whether to buy an Ipad 2019 or Ipad Air 3. Which will you recommend Mr Teoh?
WIll there be any significant delay in writing using Ipad 2019?
Same delay. Both are considered very responsive. If you have more budget, get iPad Air. If not get iPad 7 with more storage. More storage is more useful than the laminated screen
Just get a refurbished Ipad Pro 2nd gen, it's much more worth it imo. I have the Ipad Air and the gap is pretty noticable over an extended time period note-taking. Also during classes, the tapping sound on the hollow screen with your pen can be a little loud and distracting towards your classmates.
Loved it, keep them coming!
Thank You for this great review
Note taking and simple youtube, ipad 2019 is more than enough right, and goes the writing experience? This is going to be my first time using tablet to study/ take notes
It's good enough
Do you think 32gb is enough?
@@DonkeyBirdNoob For note taking it's enough
And would you recommend a paper-like screen protector? Should be pretty good
I had been looking a couple of videos checking if the apple pencil is really worth buying and your video had been a great help . I was wondering if i could rest my hand on the ipad while writing and you made that pretty clear . I did not get that clarification in any video else . Thank You 👍📝
Please tell my can I use any pencil to ibad 7 or what
Fun Fact: It works a bit on the iPad Air 2. It tries to move the screen but it swipes away. But, The Air 2 Is 4K And HD So..I’m now writing in an Air 2.
would you recommend the ipad 7 for note taking in school? I'm going to be writing a lot of notes, will this ipad hinder me in writing for long hours? Also, if i get a screen protector such as paperlike, will that improve my writing experience? Thanks
iPad 7 is good. Value for money. I don’t think you need screen protector
Dont buy paperlike, its overpriced, you better get the bellemond matte screenprotecter which is actually better and less expensive.
Trivision thanks
I ve seen some non conductive gloves you can get for passive styluses
Great video, thank you. Will Evernote work in the scenario you tested?
It works
can it handle large multiple pdfs ??
If i have a laptop already , and iam going to medical school , do you recommend me getting ipad 8 or air4 , and is the hollow pencil sound is annoying?
That was helpful. 👍😀
Why pencil is making sound when you writing on screen? Is there any way to reduce that sound ?
There will be the tapping sound from the hard tip against glass surface.
Is this pencil first generation or second generation?
First
Did you notice any improvement in latency from ipad 6th gen. Since ipad os reduced tthe latency from 20ms to 9ms. does it apply to ipad 6th gen, 7th gen and air?
Seems the same to me
@@teohyc aww man. I was hoping for the non pro models to go down.
Appreciate your review. Is palm rejection passive with Apple Pencil and iPad 10.2? For app that do not support Apple Pencil, does palm rejection work?
Palm rejection works almost flawlessly. Not sure if it's active or passive though.
Binged a lot of your note taking videos :D. Can't decide between Surface Go, iPad 2019 or iPad Air 2019. How do you think those 3 stack up when it comes to note taking, writing on PDFs working on Word files etc. ?
They all perform well. Maybe get the cheapest, the iPad 2019
@@teohyc Wow, how quick was that reply :D! Thanks for the suggestion.
is there significant lag when writing on this iPad?
No
Can some one tell the names of all of these pencils 🥺
Hi! Could you make the handwrite test on Huawei mediapad m6 10.8. Thanks!
Can you do a review on apple pencil alternatives? There are a lot on amazon that LOOK like the apple pencil, and apparently they have excellent palm rejection and require no bluetooth!!! I think they lack in pressure sensitivity though. One brand that sells these is called goojodoq.
With your long-term experience, kindly advise whether the 32GB internal storage is enough for day to day task like browsing, reading, online media consumption, social media usage and note taking....
If you're not going to be drawing much, 32GB is enough (for note taking too)
Does air perform better than the 7 in terms of note taking? I've a tight budget. Just want to know that whether air performs reasonably better than the 7 or no big difference?
Air does feel better for writing because of the no-gap laminated display. But if it’s just for writing I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra money
Only because of this guy I sold my iPad 7 and brought S6 lite, because he gave S6 lite A+ rating for note taking, he ruined my graduation, I could buy apple pencil with the extra money I invested in s6 lite, even iPad air 2 of 2014 is better than S6 lite, now I can't do anything because of money issues, I have to suffer 3 more years of medical education with S6 lite 😭😭
i’ve never used ipad before and i’m thinking of buying one for uni. i’m going to use it for note taking and reading ebooks and other typical stuffs uni students do. is this ipad worth it? and how does it feel when you’re writing on it? does it feel less smooth than writing on ipad air? and does it lag when you write?
I think it's worth it. It's still fast and responsive. Writing is smooth. not a problem
Teoh Yi Chie so other than the hollow clicking sound when you write, the ipad 7 is okay then? and is the hollow clicking sound loud?
I've head good things about the Logitech crayon stylus. Have you tried it with the ipad 7?
I've not tried that so I can't say much
Is writing on the ipad noisy? For example, using it on a library could be annoying for other people?
Not noisy
@@teohyc thx
Is the Apple Pencil 2nd gen compatible with the iPad 7th gen?
Nope. Only 1st gen Apple Pencil works
I’m planning to buy this Ipad 2019 for notetaking and watching movies. But i am more concerned on the writing comfortability. Will the squeak noise of apple pencil won’t disturb the person beside me? Or is it really not obvious?
It’s not obvious
Teoh Yi Chie thank you!
Is it normal to have a little bit of flex to the screen? meaning, it gives in a little bit, when pressing on it?
If you press hard, there will be flex
can you try huawei mate30 pro with m pen?and m6
hi what i should to buy. this ipad or the xp pen 13 pro . is for industrial disingn
If it's just drawing and there's no specific software you need to use, get iPad
will it be enough for note taking? I want one for my med school.
I could get the air 3 if I tried but I'm on a tight budget.
It's good for note taking. No problem
I want to convert to paperless & plan to take notes digitally too. I actually just ordered this ipad after extensiveeeee research 😂 & should be expecting it soon (I couldn’t afford the air 3 on my tight budget either). I’m super excited, if you could afford this iPad, I’d say why not
@@l0reemae you get 32gb ipad 7 instead of iPad air 3?
Wilson Goh Yes the 7th gen, but I ordered the 128GB
mae dacillo so, how is it?
can you make a video of the screen sound on this ipad vs ipad air 3? im buying ipad air on May, just curious about the sound
same
Ipad 7 has palm rejection and how to activate it? I’m scared because i buy a smart pen in amazon and its on the way.. i really wanna rest my hand in the ipad
IPad palm rejection is always on but you will need to use Apple Pencil for best effect
Teoh Yi Chie Oh i’m so sad
How do you find writing with a non-laminated screen?
On the iPad 7, it's not too bad. It's not that slippery and doesn't have the squeaky sound
Is writing on regular iPad that loud irl? I'm afraid that I'm just going to annoy my college peers with hollow tapping noise. Or is it possible to get comfortable with a pencil enough to not make a sound?
Thanks for the answer
It's not loud. After a while, I'm sure you won't even notice it.
@@teohyc Thank you!
I'm also considering getting Air 3 instead of the 7th. But instead of an Ipad 3 128gb to grab Air 3 with 64gb. Is it worth to pay up for a better-laminated screen and processor but twice as less memory for future-proofing (there is a rumour of iPad 8 with A11 chip in the autumn)? Apple makes it very confusing.
@@jupiter2479 I personally think more storage is more useful than the display.
Which Apple Pencil is that?
Apple Pencil 1
Teoh Yi Chie does Apple Pen 2 work on iPad 7?
@@missing5189 No, only first gen works on ipad 7.
What if you have sweaty palms that stick to the screen making it harder to write? Is there an alternative to fix this?
Get an artist glove. You can find those on Amazon. Not too expensive
@@teohyc I would use this to take notes in class. Is there an alternative besides using gloves?
The others pencil works out on other iPads? Like IPad mini 4, iPad Air 2 etc.
Apple Pencil only works with iPad 6, iPad 7, and older iPad Pros
Thanks, but I meant the other pencils, not the Apple Pencil, Do they work on any iPad? The alternative pencils
@@JorgeMartinez-wj8ey They do. Check out the Adonit styluses
I used adonit mini stylush pencil on ipad mini 2... and it works great
Which type of Apple Pencil is used in the video?
First gen
ipad 6 128GB or ipad 7 32GB?
Ipad 6 if you draw a lot.
@@teohyc thanks for replying
actually i want to play games and for writing instead
@@viwotosheqi Not too sure about gaming though
#question Have you any suggestion on one hand ipad holder?
I don’t use that so I’m not sure. Check out the one use by my friend www.sketcherman.com/blog
Does ipad 7 have reading mode?
Not sure what you mean by reading mode
Does pro create work on it?
Yes
what app do you use to do it?
Wacom Bamboo Paper, Nebo, OneNote, Inkredible.
Just get the apple pencil, the third party pen is garbage
ya
True
This is kind of a dumb question but i’m new to ipads and i’m getting mine in a couple days. When using the pencil on the ipad, does it matter if your forearm or wrist is resting on the ipad? Idk if that makes sense but when i write on paper, i always have to have my forearm/wrist on the paper. Hopefully someone knows what i’m talking about.
There is palm rejection
Is it laminated?
No. There's a gap between the glass and LCD beneath. Not a big deal
This Bamboo app is free or paid? 🙈
Free but with in app purchases to unlock certain pen and paper
Why am i watching this i have the super old ipad 2 lol
Regardless, excellent and super detailed review mr. Teoh 😊
of course only their $100 pencil works.. How Apple
you know ipad air 3 has different screen. is there a huge difference between ipad 7's and air 3's screens? which one is better for writing
Writing experience is better on iPad Air because of the laminated display. But writing capability is similar. If you have limited budget, go for the iPad 7 with more storage. More storage is more useful than the better screen.
