Hello, sorry to ask this. But how on earth do you make your handwriting so neat? It’s so clean and precise, did you just practice a lot and if so, have you got some tips on improving? I use the iPad Pro same as you, and I am currently studying As-level biology, and I come across all these fantastic “notes” and mine just look well terrible. So, please tell me your secret, you probably won’t reply, but still amazing videos and you have a new subscriber thanks 😊
You are like a machine the way you write because it's soooo neat and consistent. Your videos are top notch quality and your narration is also extremely well presented. You are amazing!
If you don’t have a paperlike type screen cover, it makes a HUGE difference. I got 2 covers on Amazon for less than $15 U.S. ( not paperlike brand but works great ) I’ve been using it for several months and really love it.
WOW. Never even thought about practicing your handwriting by tracing over like you do at the end. When I first started watching the video, I really thought that Goodnotes had a function to instantly transcribe your handwriting to a font LMAO. Your handwriting is INSANE.
Thanks for tips. As to improving your penmanship, you might consider changing your pen grip from the wrap-around thumb choke to held by fingertips. You will have improved sensitivity, control and liquidity of movement.
The iPad works amazingly the box came a little dirty, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA no plastic wrap, but the box was sealed and had everything else in the box along with the wrapping, the iPad itself is gorgeous, I got the yellow 64g game storage is good for me along with Socials and school stuff. No scratches or marks came with the charger and box fast speed, and if you are buying a pen get the 1st gen don’t make the mistake I did !!
Thanks for the tips, I used one note and ur tips still works, my handwriting is so much better now! I just zoom in to max, choose medium thickness then use the math/ grid paper to help with spacing! Thank u!
I use the fountain pen setting which works well for me personally because of how I hold my pen and the angle I hold it 🤩 but of course, everyone has a preference 🤩🤩
I actually prefer Notability to Goodnotes for school notes. It has more settings and the pens are much easier to control. Especially now that they added 2 dotted line pens which are great for diagrams and arrows. Brush Pen is also way more controllable which is good as I use it for titles. I mainly use Goodnotes for journaling or my agenda or for writing stories as I had a hard time controlling the pens on Goodnotes when I had to write out my notes in class due to the speed. If it's something outside of school where speed isn't a factor then Goodnotes was better for me. Plus being able to add recordings to notes is a big advantage in school
yes! I totally agree with you about some things! Notability definitely has more pen selection and the brush pen works much better. However, since I'm doing online school, I have not yet once found the need to record a lecture since they're all pre recorded or saved for later.
I’m here for your writing, I thought my writing was neat but yours is on another level, it’s PERFECT! I’ve just treated myself to the iPad 10th generation and I’m definitely going to get the screen protector that helps you write more easily because of the friction. Thank you for this great video, I’m going to sub to your channel
I‘m so happy to finally find someone who holds pens and pencils the way I do, they told me as a kid I would never get a good handwriting with „the cramped way“ I was holding my pencils but now I‘m doing calligraphy and paintings. 🖋
I just got my new ipad air4 a few weeks ago and i really want to know how to make my notes look better with goodnotes and notability. This video shows me a lot of information about those. Thank You! I realllllllllllllllllllllllly LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
LISTEN HERE!! I recommend buying an Apple Pencil case! The magnet that connects the Apple Pencil and the iPad is kinda strong! The Apple Pencil will scrape of some paint at where the magnets connect! Buying a case for the pencil will keep that from happening
Hard to believe the PaperLike can improve your handwriting but it helped me a lot. It's really an excellent improvement. I just got mine and I'm really glad I did.
Had a paper-like protector on my 12.9” iPad Pro. Went through 3 Apple Pencil tips in 6 weeks, dumped the paper-like protector in favour of a 3rd party one. No problems with the new protector. Paper-like is overpriced and not so great. When I’m on the move I use an iPad Mini 5 with the pencil. Really great for taking down quick notes and then it goes into my jacket pocket. Use it all the time...
@@kaitlinkoralewski6466 just anything that doesn’t have the rough paper structure, most cheap ones from Amazon do the job. I just switched back as well because I ruined 4 tips in 2 weeks.
Great video! Another reason to choose ballpoint pen instead of fountain pen or brush pen is the file size, as Goodnotes doesn't have to save the pressure data for ballpoint pen.
Awesome video. I also noticed that my handwriting looked different on Notability. Not in a bad way though, but for some reason it looked way better on there then it would on the regular notes app.
Personally I love the iPad mini for note taking. I always preferred A5 notebooks for their portability and that experience is pretty much the same on the mini 6. I am a prolific note taker and journal writer, it always felt awkward writing on my iPad, once I got my mini 6 however I found the experience far better. I would imagine though that a student may prefer the larger screen. My recommendation if you use the mini is to switch scrolling to vertical and swipe to add a bunch of pages before you start writing ( well, if you use Goodnotes anyway)
I’m an attorney who needs to take tons of notes, often including pictures, PDFs, etc. When done, I need to include my notes in emails. Last, typing is slow and clunky on and ipad writing in cursive is the most desirable means of recording notes. GET NEBO!!! I won’t go into every detail, but it’s main feature is its ability to translate the worst cursive handwriting into text INSTANTLY. From there you add, edit text and organize your work while integrating with every app on your system.
Finally a down-to-earth video with actual daily-life tips, thank you so much. ❤️❤️ And I completely agree with you on the iPad sizes: the Mini - but also the regular one - is only for those who only do sporadic casual browsing, streaming or read e-books; if you need to take notes, you cannot get an iPad smaller than, at the very least, the new iPad Air or, better, the iPad Pro 11” as they have the best screen ratio - and the Apple Pencil 2nd gen. is the absolute best for writing (the 1st gen. Pencil is good too, but there’s frankly an abyss with the 2nd gen. one).
@Sophiealpes38 I’m not pushing anyone to do anything. I’m just stating facts: the Apple Pencil 1 is not even comparable to the 2nd gen. one when it comes to taking notes, which makes the models the Apple Pencil 2 is compatible with the best tools for writing; the regular iPad may be good for you because you’ve gotten used to it, but objectively its huge borders may be somewhat of a hindrance and make it not the best device to write on.
as a literature student i use ipad mini as my e-reader as theres a lot of material to be read and i have to admit its quite difficult to make notes on a mini but definitely doable
Hi, if you're trying to write neater, I would recommend Bellemond screen protector. I have Kent paper version and it's doing great! I have a horrible writing and couldn't even write on glass screen, so it really helped. It's great quality and I don't need to change the film even though I was using it for a year
It depends on the brand, some screen protectors are too hard and the do damage the top (I have one), paper like doesn’t damage the tip but I’ve seen some reviews that say that it feels just like a simple matte protector bc it doesn’t have as much friction as hard protectors (that do harm the pencil tip), so I’d just go for a Matt one
I would also add 2 pieces of advice. Try using sports wrist braces, the kind that athletes use to protect their wrists if you will be writing for a long period of time, especially those rated for carpal tunnel. Writing or drawing for hours can get painful on the wrists without them, and I know I am in medical school and spend about 14 to 16 hours a day 7 days a week writing as part of my studies.
