The police do not want to handle the homeless telling the homeless to get off the train is also a delay in service they should never have let us go this far to begin with but let's try something
First of all the odds are stacked against New Yorkers. Not only do New Yorkers have to be on constant guard with crime, but taking public transportation puts you at an extreme disadvantage of being in harms way. Not only do you risk being late for work, you risk your life. Not only is the Public Transportation in New York failing and overrated, but to make matters worse NEW YORK, has cut their taxis. Not everyone wants to take an UBER OR LYFT. I mean we hear about UBER and LYFT drivers being creeps too and there were several times I wasted money using that app and did not even get the ride I ordered. Still as bad as the crimes is and as awful as the transportation, the school systems are failing, so it's creating a population of people who just don't even have the eduCation to fix or survive in this broken city. The lawmakers, police officers and educators of New York are failing their city. , With the cost of living rising, New York does not offer fair wages to people in the city. They still get paid small town wages, that cannot keep up with city life, inflation is killing us.
Take an Express bus it’s definitely cheaper compared to an Uber between boroughs and you’re less likely to deal with crime like on the subway! You can also use the commuter railroads (Lirr and Metro North) the M.T.A has other options besides the subway!
Living on the streets would cause anyone mental health problems. You live in New York subways for a year and tell me how awesome you feel about yourself and life.I just think when we call homeless people crazy and think the automatic answer is sending them to the nuthouse we are creating another problem, which is now we are saying the poor are mentally ill. Maybe if you helped them get into a house, have a little money and safety they would be able to heal mentally and emotionally a lot faster than being thrown in a nut house full of lunatics and doctors telling them they need to swallow their medicine and accept that their life sucks because of their own mental instability, not social failings. If just seem like another way to not really address the problem, ROUND UP THE HOMLESS AND LABEL THEM AS CRAZY???
They need medical , healthy attention first , psychological evaluation first and foremost . Then through merit they are ready for independent living . Right now they need care that Holcomb and Adams realize. How many need rehabilitation ? Most of them do. If they do good they could get on to the mainstream with compassionate help from programs the Mayor suggested. Sincerely, I was one of them not once , but 3 times. If the so called coalition for the homeless methods were working the last few years these problems would not have built up to what we have now . Sometimes a good system goes haywire , people need accountability, personal , and to other’s , it goes hand in hand . When things break you must fix it , to fix it you diagnose and solve with solutions theory to problems that are presented . Keep doing the same thing and get the same results. New Yorkers care , the Mayor and Governor care . We need the Homeless to help us help them .🕵🏻♂️🙏🏼❤️🤔✨✨✨✨🤔👍🏼
They buy air space build building so high with majority of them being vacant then they keep them like this all year round ,,, claim tax right off at the public expenses.,,,
they need their own place to stay away from everyone that would have to be policed as well theyre nuts when they all get together a lot of times its another world with them i know someone in that situation and being homeless is a constant fight to keep what yours the mental health issue with them is really a problem
According to statistics there are 80,000 homeless in NYC alone. Who knows how many use the subway for shelter. Wtf is 1100 beds going to do to put a dent in that number? Oh and I’m sure your cops are going to do a bang up job. Literally.
“Over reliance on policing and criminalization” says the girl sitting cushy and safe in her high rise. The day she gets mugged or followed by a belligerent man in the subway she’s gonna change her tone immediately. The time for passive measures are over. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLENT CRIME. PERIOD.
Thank you Mayor Adams for doing the right thing to make NYC Subway transits, a public transportation for people who ride on trains and for homeless humans to live in shelters from now on.
He Needs to also implement a plan for Surface Transit as well...People putting their feet all over the seats on the Bus like it's their living room sofa....The Bus Drivers are petrified to enforce rules....The whole transportation system needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL...
they were there before 2016...thats the last time i took the subway...because it smelled like a bathroom with dirty feet. simply disgusting that they keep charging you people higher fares and you have to rub elbows with others in that condition.
Take an Express bus it’s definitely cheaper compared to an Uber between boroughs and you’re less likely to deal with crime like on the subway! You can also use the commuter railroads (Lirr and Metro North) the M.T.A has other options besides the subway!
How are you comparing the man being stab to homelessness in the subway. They stated it was 3 men that was involved with stabbing the other man. Every new Yorker know homeless people dont travel in groups. You wont see 3 of them together on the train
Zero crime policy is the only way to go. First the subways then the streets. If it's a choice between the mentally ill people or the rest of the people, I vote the latter.
If each of those advocates could take just one of those homeless people home that would be a great start...I bet those advocates don't even ride the trains, my friend's Mother was spat on by a homeless man in November because se didn't give him the money he asked for..she was tired and on her way home from work...
Gday luv The problem is not the homeless It's career criminals on the street Where are the transit cops What ever happened to them riding the train It's going to get worse wait until sunmer
Well.I hope the Mayor also protect them at the Shelters, Because there is a lot of violence in those Shelters… They get beat up at these “Shelters” I feel sorry for some homeless. They get beat up, gang members steal their money and property… So??? Who TF help Them???
This is a good plan and I agree with the Mayor. The resources to implement this plan must include the police as some of the homeless are violent and combative. No social worker is going to be able to defend themselves without some sort of police protection. They should act in unison not one without the other. Special training to the officers assigned to this project should include intensive social and de-escalating techniques that will assist with the mentally ill. The confidence and power that police have to deal with habitual criminals will be an asset to them as well. I think this will work. It's better than nothing.
That station has a lot of homeless and mentally ill because its right next to the hospital. Where the bums hangout in the hospital waiting area until the security kicks them out to where they move to hang out in the subway station. it a never end story
I honestly don't care if they are heavy handed. Nobody wants to be pushed into train tracks or stabbed just trying to commute by homeless people so just get them out.
I'm glad one of the lines they'll be focusing on is the E. The E train is one of the most horrendous trains in all of NYC- overridden with (often mentally unwell) homeless people and it's dirty.
Thank you Mr. Mayor and please tell MTA to do the job by cleaning the trains clean. The MTA cleaning work keeps the train dirty and gross. Please send the homeless to their advocate's houses.

You can also use the commuter railroads (Lirr and Metro North) the M.T.A has other options besides the subway!
it's tough to justify living there , but what u gonna do? , move to Marfa ??
@@jamallhayden2512 I am new to the city thanks for the transportation tips! They are helpful!
@@LyonBrave No problem!
I hope he remember that the homeless are being attacked just the same and this is a reaction of them being neglected by the system they put in place
shit if they start giving away houses like you want i think ill play homeless and crazy too!
It’s about time. DeBozo started this mess and did nothing about it. I really hope that Adams can help these people.
They need housing. They need help.
Reopen the state psychiatric hospitals and make it easier to involuntarily commit.
Nyc is small compared to the rest of n.y state. Send them upstate where there's plenty of room . Stop cramming people 😒
Get the crooked landlords too who are using all kinds of crooked tactics to get people in the street don't forget they're part of the problem too
They buy air space build building so high with majority of them being vacant then they keep them like this all year round ,,, claim tax right off at the public expenses.,,,
There are more empty high rise building with majority vacant apartments than there is homeless ppl in NYC
Everyone remember the MTA is controlled at the STATE level not down in NYC.
Vote out Kathy Hochul if you want change!
Clean up the streets and subways…homeless & those who are mental health risks to society do not belong on subway or streets.
they need their own place to stay away from everyone that would have to be policed as well theyre nuts when they all get together a lot of times its another world with them i know someone in that situation and being homeless is a constant fight to keep what yours the mental health issue with them is really a problem
According to statistics there are 80,000 homeless in NYC alone. Who knows how many use the subway for shelter.
Wtf is 1100 beds going to do to put a dent in that number?
Oh and I’m sure your cops are going to do a bang up job. Literally.
Thank u someone can see the impossible,,, can u show the mayor this plz
@@lifekreec unfortunately I work 7 days a week to keep myself from going homeless in NYC. Feel free to spread the message 😁
The mayor's plan is right, and I like what he's doing!
Diversity is our strength. Lmao.
@Dave happy Black History month! Lol.
This dude is just talking BS he won't do anything
A guy was smoking crack next to me yesterday on the J train.
Did he offer you a hit??
@@benjybronk7718 na he was being selfish. lol
500 Million ain't enough, ask the last administration.
He Needs to also implement a plan for Surface Transit as well...People putting their feet all over the seats on the Bus like it's their living room sofa....The Bus Drivers are petrified to enforce rules....The whole transportation system needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL...
exactly. The other day i was leaving port authority and this homeless guy begged the bus driver to bring him to paterson and he did!
they were there before 2016...thats the last time i took the subway...because it smelled like a bathroom with dirty feet.
simply disgusting that they keep charging you people higher fares and you have to rub elbows with others in that condition.
Take an Express bus it’s definitely cheaper compared to an Uber between boroughs and you’re less likely to deal with crime like on the subway! You can also use the commuter railroads (Lirr and Metro North) the M.T.A has other options besides the subway!
The fare hasn’t gone up in about 7 years. And 90% of people aren’t paying for it. That doesn’t make it right but I see why.
Want a real solution? Keep the crazies in mental facility like back in the 70s
All these activists have no solutions…
These liberals complain if u don't do anything and complain more when u try to do something.
Another Stabbing on the Subway
Bring back broken windows theory policy
How are you comparing the man being stab to homelessness in the subway.
They stated it was 3 men that was involved with stabbing the other man. Every new Yorker know homeless people dont travel in groups. You wont see 3 of them together on the train
The victim was homeless.
Let’s send the whole Mr. Jacqueline Simone’s home since you know she’s advocating for the homeless to be in the subways
I wish the racist the best of luck.
Why hasn’t that been in effect for all the years. Really a no brainer
It would’ve been seen as racist
These bums got to go .
Zero crime policy is the only way to go. First the subways then the streets. If it's a choice between the mentally ill people or the rest of the people, I vote the latter.
Why not focus on all lines.
The problem is those criminals can walk freely on street, even with multiple violent records.
Put those criminals behind bars.🤔
If each of those advocates could take just one of those homeless people home that would be a great start...I bet those advocates don't even ride the trains, my friend's Mother was spat on by a homeless man in November because se didn't give him the money he asked for..she was tired and on her way home from work...
Gday luv
The problem is not the homeless
It's career criminals on the street
Where are the transit cops
What ever happened to them riding the train
It's going to get worse wait until sunmer
Enough is Enough
Jacquelyn Simone. Wake TFU. People are dead because of the homeless psychos out there.
Force those people to move to cheaper cities
The ladies in their Flushing or Chinatown apartments or those who were given Christmas gifts and Thanksgiving turkeys just 40 to 60 days ago?
Liberal ny'ers who voted in this mess already fleeing to those places, cancers spreading.
Well.I hope the Mayor also protect them at the Shelters, Because there is a lot of violence in those Shelters… They get beat up at these “Shelters” I feel sorry for some homeless. They get beat up, gang members steal their money and property… So??? Who TF help Them???
Get the social workers bigger pens and clipboards for the carnage that happens after 2AM on the trains
At least the mayor is trying a lot of those homeless ppl committing crimes for a Place to stay
Enough has been Enough😠
This has been another moment
in diversity at any cost
I’m sorry but they do know that it’s not only Asians who are victims/potential victims
It should go into effect immediately!!!!
Absolutely, I hope we don’t hear another death by a psycho who pushed somebody onto an incoming train
It is a bandaid
The lady who spoke is accurate. You're doing good mayor adams. Send advocates with the police to the homeless stations to stop policing
Sounds good to me !
I waiting for the story where someone gets their head blown off in a stand your ground case.
I am watching this situation closely. I applaud the mayor for saying that he is not a dysfunctional man
I must say , Christine appears to be at the height of her baby making term , why no body scoop her!? Damn.,
We doesn’t the city have security officers on the train lines with police officers!!
Thank you Mr. Mayor and please tell MTA to do the job by cleaning the trains clean. The MTA cleaning work keeps the train dirty and gross. Please send the homeless to their advocate's houses.
This is America no one is 100percent safe, try another place for that and then tell us how it was.
Bill de blaso let homeless people free he didn’t do nothing kick out homeless people out shelters
