    Spring 2024.. just last week I bought the gp100 model# 1771.. 4.2 inch stainless steel 7 shot.. we ran 125gr .38spl and 158gr. 38spl +P along with Underwood 357mag 180gr black cherry flat nose high tek thru that wheelgun. Was accurate from the get go right out of the box! Double action was clean squeezing and single was just down right easy.. although sons and I first time shooting had us moving the barrel on the double action a Lil but with better gripping experience will lock down great grouping. The 180gr was the test for us and the Ruger.. what power!

    I have a GP 100 on layaway, the stainless version with the 4" barrel. I can't wait to get it. I detest semiautomatic firearms so all of my firearms are either pump action, bolt action, lever action and revolvers.

    I have recently purchased a GP100 5" Davidson Exclusive. I shot a couple hundred 38Spl through it at my first range session and it shot great. Took it home and cleaned it thoroughly. Second range outing and on my second cylinder of 357's the cylinder starting binding. I have owned revolvers since 1976 and this is the first time I have ever had a revolver malfunction that wasn't ammo caused. Sent it to Ruger and it came back with a note that said they replaced the hammer, adjusted cylinder end play and cylinder gap, and did some polishing. Carried it to the range and couldn't believe the difference. It feels like it has had a custom trigger job. D/A pull is 6 1/2 lbs and single action pull is a crisp 3 lbs and smooth as silk. All of my guns are semi automatics and been wanting a revolver and I think I am pretty much sold on this. They have some at the gun shop I deal with for $799 so is that price about right because I am heading to the gun shop next week and I am going to buy this gun, this will be my first revolver. The very first gun I ever shot 40 years ago was a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum and that friend of mine that let me shoot it got me hooked on guns and I'm glad he did.

    • @JBJHonez
      @JBJHonez  2 роки тому +1

      You’d have to check around for what they’re selling for. Prices change often. Some people will pay whatever if they want it bad enough. Check GunBroker and a few other places as well.

      Believe it or not I bought the Ruger GP100 357 Magnum and didn't even get through a full box of ammo and decided I didn't like it. You can't get nothing with it even at 15 ft away and I can take my 1911 Ruger 10 mm and some of my other handguns and get targets 15 yards in 20 yards away. Going to trade it back in on something else. I'll just stick with my semi automatics

      @@JBJHonez Yeah that's right, the flutes. You know, the bullet shaped things along the side of the cylinder. They're supposed to be chamber indicators because they're along each chamber. They're shorter and less attractive now. I mean Ruger's always had shorter ones on their cylinders compared to Colts and Smith's but they really shortened them down now to the point where why even bother. Glad I have my older ones.
