Wait, so I don't have to set the gain on mixer anymore? Because it already have gain on the preamp?

Yes, exactly - That’s the whole point of using an external preamp.
I don’t have anything on drumming, but my friends @drumeo had a bunch of stuff on this at one point.

So I can NOT run a XLR terminated cable directly from a balanced signal source to the mixing board!!! This is crucial to know, that I have never seen mentioned before.
Do ALL analog or digital mixers requires a TRS termination to the mixing board for all -10dBV or +4dBu signal sources?
Oh bother... Are there any other XLR to TRS adapters other than the Hosa GXP-246? Something that would compare with mogami gold cables?
