Yo mine makes a static noise every minute and 20 seconds.. i thought it was my monitors but i disconnected them and used some headphones and the same sound came through them as well.. is mine messed up.? I think it might be wated damaged would that make it like that??
I swear to actual JESUS I clicked all the buttons for the last hour or more trying to get my mic to show up...watched 6 videos...you're the only one who mentioned the phantom power button...IT WORKS...THANK YOU!
I recently bought one of these units and have been checking out a number of UA-cam videos about it. This is one of the clearest and most useful intros to the unit I have seen. Thanks!
I have had this mixer for almost a year now and I am using it for my mobile DJ gigs but to be honest I did not know a bunch of the things you explained today. Thank you very much!
this is one of the most helpful videos I've watched.... I did a live stream concert a few weeks back and the sound kept dipping and going very quiet during it with the set up I was using. I've bought this mixer in the hopes I can have a another go at it but I had no idea what to do with all the knobs and buttons so this is pretty darn incredible and useful to a novice.
phenomenal tutoral ,tons of thanks sir,i have the same mixer bought during peak of covid and struggled to handle it.above video sorted all my doubts one stroke.hats off
Jordan, I just bought a Yamaha MG 10 xu. I have hooked up the USB from my to the mixer. I get a fissile static sound going through my speakers on every new song from Iheart radio. Can please help me fix it.
Should I run my controller into 1 and 2 and use the compressor? Or use the compressor on mics? It’s sucks I can’t use both cause they didn’t include a compressor on every channel.
Today, I finally purchased a MG10XU board. This video really helped me out a ton trying to figure everything out. Excellent video to just follow along! I'll be going through the whole playlist you pinned! (I've already liked this video after a previous comment from a year ago) The way you explain things is very thorough and I was able to follow along with ease.
Very helpful. I just got mine and this was great. Weird that Yamaha does not have a series on how to use this, but there it is, that's the way of the maker.
Honestly. Of all the video covering this particular product. You've covered and explained clearly All the knob functions..especially the HFF & PAD buttons which I have been surfing for. Thannnnnk UUUUUUUU
Another great video. You should be a teacher in a real school and teach real education to real kids kind sir. You make everything simple and approachable. That is talent my friend. Kudos!
@orelanic4178 I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm having issues with my recording volume. I've seen another video that says it could be the USB cable. Do you have this issue?
These videos are extremely helpful. I bought this mixer last year out of necessity. I’ve enjoyed using it, but have had issues. You’ve answered most all my questions in this video.
Thanks Jordan i have owned one of these for 2 years and still at the bottom or the hill with using it to its full potential but this video has helped me out heaps .
Hey bro..just rec'd d Unit today n found ur tutorial...abs fantastic..u have made it so crystal clear....thanks a million...now it's going to be way easier to get it all hooked up...
Well presented! I've been using this mixer for a couple years now and learned a couple things I didnt know : ) Also I stand by it as well for durability and ease of use for the price
Wow that was such a great setup on how to use this mixer . I have this unit and am a wedding dj so you just helped me out with some great useful tips i never thought of Thank You Dj Allan
You answered questions I had, and some I didn't know I would need to know until watching this... very nice video series! I am using my new MG10XU, usb-to-pc, with my 3DiO FS binural mic. Still trying to figure out the most ideal settings and best way to record with the mixer while syncing with video streamed from DSLR-to-HDMI input into the laptop
thank you brother for the video very helpful. can you please say if we don't have a monitor speaker how to connect a passive speaker we have , which amp to use for this - please help this question
Thank you for the video. I purchased this mixer based on this video. I'm enjoying it however I am getting some static or constant hissing in my headphones when stereo mute is not turned on. I would like to hear the whole mix in my headphones but that hissing is driving me mad! Any ideas? Thank you!
Many thanks for your complete review, could please share info about the usb cable ? My MG10XU keep give noise sound out randomly when usb cable connected to pc/laptop, but when I try to connect through line 5-10 and the usb cable unplugged there is no noise sound out.
Thanks for the video. I'm a mobile DJ and I connect my controller to this mixer. I have a few questions. 1. I've never used the USB connection. What type of input would you have coming into USB? 2. I'm assuming I need to install drivers and an application to record? 3. What software is needed on the laptop to provide output through the USB? 4. Why would you not pad the mic input? I feel like that helps keep my gains low. My wireless mic is pretty hot, so I don't turn the boost there, but the wired mic can use the pad feature. Thanks in advance.
Mr. Kettner, thank you so much for all of your videos on the MG10XU. I’ve had this a few years now, but have learned so much about the settings of it from you. I used it the other night at a Karaoke show, and after using your initial settings, most of my singers were pushing the levels above the “zero” quite a bit. I’m using Vocopro 5800 wireless mics and my laptop connected via USB. Do I have to lower the audio on my laptop and/or the levels on my microphone base, to keep this from happening? Of course I want to try and give my singers and audience the best sound possible! Thanking you in advance, Sheryl T - Apache Junction, AZ
Very good video. Questions: Say you have a group of 3 vocals and 5 instruments. How do you do that?? Say you want to record a video (phone, camera) using your mixer sound as your audio. How do you do that?
Thank you for this helpful clip. I have the same console for three years now. I hooked up my powered Bose S1 Pro speakers to the console using the cables. It was working fine for quite a while. However, recently the speakers produced some noticeable buzzing sound when I powered on the console and the speakers. Why would that be? Is the console defective? Thank you for any tips you can give.
Excellent Tutorial! Question: When output via USB to a laptop to record (as shown in the video), is it then possible to connect desktop speakers to your laptop's headphone output for monitoring? I'm guessing that routing is possible via your sound control panel or Quicktime setting, but thought I'd ask here.
Very informative video. Thank you. I just got the MG10XU today and this video helped me to understand it a lot better. Question: I have a fender acoustic amplifier that I plug my guitar directly into the amplifier’s “output 1,” then I plug the mixer into the amplifiers “output 2” and then plug my microphone into the mixer. What’s your opinion on plugging the guitar directly into the mixer instead of its own independent “output 1?” I tried plugging the guitar into the mixer, but for some reason I really like my guitar to be plugged directly into the amp rather than the mixer. What are your thoughts on that? Would you rather I plug the guitar into the mixer? Thanks!
Good presentation, but my question wasn't answered. I see the RCA jacks. Will the MG10XU connect RCA with a dj controller without feedback or any other issues?
Thanks a lot for your videos of Yamaha mixers. Maybe you could do a video of how to make overdub recording to a computer. Also an explanation of the button connected to the monitor volume knob. Thanks
Very helpful video. Thank you. For my home karaoke, I've been doing things wrong with the Mic input line by playing too much with the H-M-L EQ. I guess that's why I get loud feedback. I have a question: For home karaoke with amateur singers, where should I set the Compressor at? Middle or turn off completely? Btw, I set FX at either #13 or #14. Thanks
Tks for the info. Can I use Bose S1 Pro+ Portable Bluetooth speaker? And also if yes then what connector I need to get connect from consult to my speaker?
Hi Jordon. Thanks for all the great videos. Using the MG10XU USB connection, how can I connect a USB speaker to my laptop and use it as in room monitor? Can I also use a set of earphones at the same time? Thanks
Hey, Jordan! Thanks so much for making this video series. My brother and I are currently playing gigs as an acoustic duo, and we have this exact mixer. I have a question regarding this mixer: We run this mixer into a Bose L1 Model 1 system, and we've primarily played smaller venues thus far. Typically, I find that I have to drop the master output knob a decent amount below unity in order to be at an acceptable volume for the spaces that we're playing in. My question is: I notice when I move the master output knob up or down, that movement is reflected in the meter. So, because this board lacks "solo" or "PFL" buttons for each channel for setting gain on each channel, I'm wondering if the best approach to setting the gain properly for each channel would be to first turn the Bose speakers off, then set the master output knob to unity, and then individually go through each channel we use and set the gain for each input source to where the meter reads around 0 for the loudest sections, and once that's good then turn the Bose system on and adjust the master output to an appropriate volume for the venue? My thinking is that with the master output knob at unity, I'll get the most accurate meter reading for each channel when setting the gain for those inputs. Then, once the gain is set for each channel to the appropriate level (around 0 on the meter for loudest sections) I can turn the Bose system on, and just adjust the master output knob up or down for an overall volume level that's appropriate for the venue we're playing at? Would you agree that this would be the best approach for this setup? Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Srry bother, coz Jordan has not reply. U seems has lots of knowledge. May I ask if this consult can use wireless mic and boss blue tooth speaker? Tks ahead
Very complex, clear and helpful review, thank you for that! Yamaha should put this video in package on USB as full manual :-)) Question: FX send output connector - is it stereo output like headphones (mono channels put same signal to L and R and stereo channels put signal L/R) or is it mono only? If I want use it as AUX/another independent output will I get stereo signal (classical TRS Jack stereo 6.3 mm)? Thnx
Thank you so much i just bought one and had no clue how the knobs work. Can you please let me know what settings should i put my JBL Eon pro speaker? Should i set all knobs to zero meaning not using any of the knobs in my speaker since i want to use the mixer to control all the mix?
On the last part, to get the sound from a content watching on the computer to the USB, durring live stream. Will be also still able to have the microphone sound to the live stream or will be muted?
Hello Bro , thanks for good information But we have a problem how to give line out audio from mixer to sony pxw-z150 camera..and also from mixer to laptop via stereo output.. Please help me We are struck this problem from 2 weeks.. please help me to solve this problem as quickly.. Thank you
Hello, tks for the video! I have a doubt. Maybe you can help me. I am a pianist and singer. I have a Yamaha MG10xu. I connected a PA speaker to the XLR output. And a monitor speaker. Can I turn on a vocal reverb, turn off the keyboard reverb. And send the two channels to the monitor speaker with independent volume? Thank You Andre
Great video ! I have one question, what should the volume be set at on my speaker/monitors? I have just purchased a set of used Yamaha HS8s and was wondering what to set the volume on the back of those at not to overdrive everything.
I'm looking to use my MG10XU for acoustic electric guitar and microphone to feed a PA system (Harbinger MLS900). More information on output to a PA or amplifier would be helpful.
We'd love to see a photo of your setup!

How do connect ddj 1000srt and MPC Studio 2 to the yamaha MG10XU
@@darrylrobinson8922Try using the ddj out rca or xlr out to the mixer; same for the mpc; (both left and right mono channels). Hope this helps!!
Yo mine makes a static noise every minute and 20 seconds.. i thought it was my monitors but i disconnected them and used some headphones and the same sound came through them as well.. is mine messed up.? I think it might be wated damaged would that make it like that??
When I turn on my numark dj mixer the usb from laptop to the Yamaha mixer stop working
I really recommend watching this in 1.25 speed, it helped me alot , somehow is easier to understand the whole video actually
Love how flexible UA-cam is with this! Some people want it slower, some want it faster, happy you're able to find what works for you!
this is an interesting comment i felt like i had no issues but changing the speed changes that lol
I do this with most every video, gets through content much faster. Sometimes 2x
I use an extension that lets me control playback on any video anywhere. I can’t live without it
It is insane how right you are
This is by far the best mixer tutorial ever….masterful at simplifying. Well done!
I swear to actual JESUS I clicked all the buttons for the last hour or more trying to get my mic to show up...watched 6 videos...you're the only one who mentioned the phantom power button...IT WORKS...THANK YOU!

My question is how to connect Boss Rv 6 to this mixer ?
Thanks
Thanks so much! You are the best, you taught everything that needed!
Thank you for the video. I purchased this mixer based on this video. I'm enjoying it however I am getting some static or constant hissing in my headphones when stereo mute is not turned on. I would like to hear the whole mix in my headphones but that hissing is driving me mad! Any ideas? Thank you!

Say you want to record a video (phone, camera) using your mixer sound as your audio. How do you do that?
Can you do another video how to setup this console with a pair of Bose S1 pro ? Thank you so much
Unfortunately I don't have my hands on a Bose S1 Pro, but if I can find anyone willing to lend one to me, I will.
Love this mixer. And the guy very well explain.
You are a true hero, I found a gem!
Thanks for this, was about to lose my mind!

You are amazing what a amazing review thanks
If you were plugging in DJ mixer would you use 3,4 or other line input 7&8 input?
Thanks a million
Good presentation, but my question wasn't answered. I see the RCA jacks. Will the MG10XU connect RCA with a dj controller without feedback or any other issues?
Thanks a lot for your videos of Yamaha mixers. Maybe you could do a video of how to make overdub recording to a computer. Also an explanation of the button connected to the monitor volume knob. Thanks
I just bought one! Thanks! I am learning a lot! 🤘😁
Nice, glad to hear it.
Thanks for the review, excellent and understandable.
Glad it helped
Very helpful video. Thank you. For my home karaoke, I've been doing things wrong with the Mic input line by playing too much with the H-M-L EQ. I guess that's why I get loud feedback. And were is the speaker? It it connected to laptop? Eg. When phone play music, we heard it. So is the speaker connected pc or how we do heard it?
I have a question regarding this mixer:

Great review! I´m really new to this. Got the mixer but didn´t really know how to use it properly.
Great to hear!
You are a great teacher … thank you
Thank you for your clear explanation guidelines of all connection but I would like to know how to connect the power subwoofer?
Yes. We're going to make a video on this soon. MG10XU > XLR > Subwoofer > XLR > Powered Speakers.
Thank you so much i just bought one and had no clue how the knobs work. Can you please let me know what settings should i put my JBL Eon pro speaker? Should i set all knobs to zero meaning not using any of the knobs in my speaker since i want to use the mixer to control all the mix?

Hello Bro , thanks for good information
But we have a problem how to give line out audio from mixer to sony pxw-z150 camera..and also from mixer to laptop via stereo output..
Please help me
We are struck this problem from 2 weeks.. please help me to solve this problem as quickly..
Thank you
Hello, tks for the video!
Thank You
Andre
Great video ! I have one question, what should the volume be set at on my speaker/monitors? I have just purchased a set of used Yamaha HS8s and was wondering what to set the volume on the back of those at not to overdrive everything.
How do I use click and backing tracks with the MG10XU?
I'm looking to use my MG10XU for acoustic electric guitar and microphone to feed a PA system (Harbinger MLS900). More information on output to a PA or amplifier would be helpful.
