How do connect ddj 1000srt and MPC Studio 2 to the yamaha MG10XU
@@darrylrobinson8922Try using the ddj out rca or xlr out to the mixer; same for the mpc; (both left and right mono channels). Hope this helps!!
Yo mine makes a static noise every minute and 20 seconds.. i thought it was my monitors but i disconnected them and used some headphones and the same sound came through them as well.. is mine messed up.? I think it might be wated damaged would that make it like that??
When I turn on my numark dj mixer the usb from laptop to the Yamaha mixer stop working
I really recommend watching this in 1.25 speed, it helped me alot , somehow is easier to understand the whole video actually
Love how flexible UA-cam is with this! Some people want it slower, some want it faster, happy you're able to find what works for you!
this is an interesting comment i felt like i had no issues but changing the speed changes that lol
I do this with most every video, gets through content much faster. Sometimes 2x
I use an extension that lets me control playback on any video anywhere. I can’t live without it
It is insane how right you are
I recently bought one of these units and have been checking out a number of UA-cam videos about it. This is one of the clearest and most useful intros to the unit I have seen. Thanks!
Fantastic, I’m so happy hear this! Enjoy your new mixer!
This is by far the best mixer tutorial ever….masterful at simplifying. Well done!
I swear to actual JESUS I clicked all the buttons for the last hour or more trying to get my mic to show up...watched 6 videos...you're the only one who mentioned the phantom power button...IT WORKS...THANK YOU!
Nice! Glad it worked.
Been searching for a few tutorials about this mixer and your channel is by far the best and clearest of them all. Thank you very much.
I decided to buy one. These "how to" tutorials will help make this a practical tool.
Nice, glad the videos are helpful.
Been looking at this console for an open mic hosting. This was the clearest, best explanation of it's features and usage I've found.
I have this mixer for a year and never saw someone who explained like u amazing thanks so much 🙏
I all ways had the gains set wrong and all ways though mixer sucked I will try it the right way
Glad it was helpful!
phenomenal tutoral ,tons of thanks sir,i have the same mixer bought during peak of covid and struggled to handle it.above video sorted all my doubts one stroke.hats off
These videos are extremely helpful. I bought this mixer last year out of necessity. I’ve enjoyed using it, but have had issues. You’ve answered most all my questions in this video.
Thanks for sharing!
Well presented! I've been using this mixer for a couple years now and learned a couple things I didnt know : ) Also I stand by it as well for durability and ease of use for the price
The absolute best channel in the field. I learned how to actually use my Yamaha mixer Mg10xu perfectly and my old Yamaha mixer as well.
Fantastic, happy to hear.
this is one of the most helpful videos I've watched.... I did a live stream concert a few weeks back and the sound kept dipping and going very quiet during it with the set up I was using. I've bought this mixer in the hopes I can have a another go at it but I had no idea what to do with all the knobs and buttons so this is pretty darn incredible and useful to a novice.
Today, I finally purchased a MG10XU board. This video really helped me out a ton trying to figure everything out. Excellent video to just follow along! I'll be going through the whole playlist you pinned! (I've already liked this video after a previous comment from a year ago) The way you explain things is very thorough and I was able to follow along with ease.
Just bought this yamaha and this was a big help since ive never used a mixer before. 🤙🏾
Great to hear!
Thanks Jordan i have owned one of these for 2 years and still at the bottom or the hill with using it to its full potential but this video has helped me out heaps .
Excellent descriptions of all the functions in easy-to-digest form...thanks, Jordan
Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I bought one and had it up and running in minutes. Keep it up.
Honestly. Of all the video covering this particular product. You've covered and explained clearly All the knob functions..especially the HFF & PAD buttons which I have been surfing for. Thannnnnk UUUUUUUU
What a compliment. Thank you.
My MG10XU will be here this week and I'm planning some podcasting and jamming this weekend. This was super helpful. Thank you!
Fantastic. Great choice, congrats on the purchase. Good luck with it!
Recommend to anyone very clear and straightforward explanation good review
This is incredibly helpful for a novice. Thank you for taking the time to explain.
Glad it was helpful!

Glad it helped
You answered questions I had, and some I didn't know I would need to know until watching this... very nice video series! I am using my new MG10XU, usb-to-pc, with my 3DiO FS binural mic. Still trying to figure out the most ideal settings and best way to record with the mixer while syncing with video streamed from DSLR-to-HDMI input into the laptop
Very helpful. I just got mine and this was great.
Weird that Yamaha does not have a series on how to use this, but there it is, that's the way of the maker.
So helpful! Thanks for explaining each feature. I had no idea about most of that! Thank you, thank you!
This is the best video on this mixer. Thank you so much. I use this mixer for a synth rig set up and I love it so far!
Nice, I'm happy to hear
This was a great explanation; I just picked one of these up for Podcasting and now I feel like I can set it up, E-Z. 👍🏻
Great video! I was on the fence regarding the mixer. Now I know it will work for me! Thanks for the very informative video.
Thank you so much for the video, i just love the way you do the presentation so professional. Well done 👍🏾
Just picked this up as a submixer for my drums. This is so helpful. Thank you!
Mr. Kettner, thank you so much for all of your videos on the MG10XU. I’ve had this a few years now, but have learned so much about the settings of it from you. I used it the other night at a Karaoke show, and after using your initial settings, most of my singers were pushing the levels above the “zero” quite a bit. I’m using Vocopro 5800 wireless mics and my laptop connected via USB. Do I have to lower the audio on my laptop and/or the levels on my microphone base, to keep this from happening? Of course I want to try and give my singers and audience the best sound possible!
Thanking you in advance,
Sheryl T - Apache Junction, AZ
Great work Kettner. Nicely explained and very practical. Thank you.
Hey man, thank you so much for making this video and the playlist. I learn a lot from ur channel. Great job!!

Very well said! Great explanation! Keep up the good work Man!
Thanks for putting out the lesson I appreciate the info because this is the mixer I use and I needed some helpful info about recording to a computer
perfect vid, many thanks for posting!
Very informative video. Thank you. I just got the MG10XU today and this video helped me to understand it a lot better. Question: I have a fender acoustic amplifier that I plug my guitar directly into the amplifier’s “output 1,” then I plug the mixer into the amplifiers “output 2” and then plug my microphone into the mixer. What’s your opinion on plugging the guitar directly into the mixer instead of its own independent “output 1?” I tried plugging the guitar into the mixer, but for some reason I really like my guitar to be plugged directly into the amp rather than the mixer. What are your thoughts on that? Would you rather I plug the guitar into the mixer? Thanks!
Had mine for 5 years and still going strong
@orelanic4178 I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm having issues with my recording volume. I've seen another video that says it could be the USB cable. Do you have this issue?
I bought this console is so love ,and thanks for your video tutorial to help me out❤
Best review so far. Easy subscription for me!
Welcome aboard!
I ordered one from amazon and waiting for delivery , it helps me alot. I am new to this device.
Nice!
Great review,thanks.
Excellent tutorial, thanks!
You are a true hero, I found a gem!
Very helpful video. Thank you. For my home karaoke, I've been doing things wrong with the Mic input line by playing too much with the H-M-L EQ. I guess that's why I get loud feedback. I have a question: For home karaoke with amateur singers, where should I set the Compressor at? Middle or turn off completely? Btw, I set FX at either #13 or #14. Thanks
I agree.. This video is clear, indepth and to the point.. Thank you so much..
This is video is awesome. I was using this mixer completely wrong, keeping all the knobs facing up.
Man does this bring back memories!
Hey, Jordan! Thanks so much for making this video series.
My brother and I are currently playing gigs as an acoustic duo, and we have this exact mixer. I have a question regarding this mixer:
We run this mixer into a Bose L1 Model 1 system, and we've primarily played smaller venues thus far. Typically, I find that I have to drop the master output knob a decent amount below unity in order to be at an acceptable volume for the spaces that we're playing in. My question is:
I notice when I move the master output knob up or down, that movement is reflected in the meter. So, because this board lacks "solo" or "PFL" buttons for each channel for setting gain on each channel, I'm wondering if the best approach to setting the gain properly for each channel would be to first turn the Bose speakers off, then set the master output knob to unity, and then individually go through each channel we use and set the gain for each input source to where the meter reads around 0 for the loudest sections, and once that's good then turn the Bose system on and adjust the master output to an appropriate volume for the venue?
My thinking is that with the master output knob at unity, I'll get the most accurate meter reading for each channel when setting the gain for those inputs. Then, once the gain is set for each channel to the appropriate level (around 0 on the meter for loudest sections) I can turn the Bose system on, and just adjust the master output knob up or down for an overall volume level that's appropriate for the venue we're playing at? Would you agree that this would be the best approach for this setup?
Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Srry bother, coz Jordan has not reply. U seems has lots of knowledge. May I ask if this consult can use wireless mic and boss blue tooth speaker? Tks ahead
Coz I have Bose s1 pro speaker and want to see if I can use it or and what type connector to buy to connect it together with the Yamaha mixer.
Thanks for the review, excellent and understandable.
Glad it helped
Such a good video man. Thanks!
You make good presentation👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the great video.
Super helpful and informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very complex, clear and helpful review, thank you for that! Yamaha should put this video in package on USB as full manual :-)) Question: FX send output connector - is it stereo output like headphones (mono channels put same signal to L and R and stereo channels put signal L/R) or is it mono only? If I want use it as AUX/another independent output will I get stereo signal (classical TRS Jack stereo 6.3 mm)? Thnx
This is an amazing tutorial. Thank you so much
I appreciate your videos.
Great video ! I have one question, what should the volume be set at on my speaker/monitors? I have just purchased a set of used Yamaha HS8s and was wondering what to set the volume on the back of those at not to overdrive everything.
this is so helpful! thank you so much!
You are amazing what a amazing review thanks
If you were plugging in DJ mixer would you use 3,4 or other line input 7&8 input?
Thanks a million
Fantastic explanation
Thank you so much i just bought one and had no clue how the knobs work. Can you please let me know what settings should i put my JBL Eon pro speaker? Should i set all knobs to zero meaning not using any of the knobs in my speaker since i want to use the mixer to control all the mix?
great explanation very helpful
Love this mixer. And the guy very well explain.
Really great and helpful video! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great console. Should I upgrade? Good video, thank you 👍👍
Hi Jordan! Thank you for your great videos and tutorials on this channel! I know you're busy, still want to ask you a quick question. I have this mixer at home, and also have been using it with Cubase Elements8, which came together with the mixer when I purchased it. Until now I only could record through this mixer to Cubaes everything on one track. Do you think, the Cubase can recognize each mixer channel, and then I could also record them to separate tracks in the Cubase? Thank you for your reply in advance!
We have another video on how to multi-track record with this console. Basically, just pan channel 1 to the left, channel 2 to the right. Then in Cubase you can record the left channel to channel 1 and the right channel to channel 2.
Thanks for the straight-forward help!
Glad it helped!
I just bought one! Thanks! I am learning a lot! 🤘😁
Nice, glad to hear it.
Thank you!
On the last part, to get the sound from a content watching on the computer to the USB, durring live stream. Will be also still able to have the microphone sound to the live stream or will be muted?
Very nice work
Super helpful. Thanks a lot. Question: I have a live setup running a vocal mic and processed guitar into a separate Behringer interface, through my DAW, and I've been running the output of that interface into 1 & 2 on the Yamaha, then out via xlr to a couple of JBL speakers. Would you recommend using the USB in/out on the Yamaha rather than audio routing from the Behringer to the mixer? My main objective is to record my sets. For some reason this whole setup has been confusing the hell out of me, but I feel like the USB on the mixer has functionality that might help a lot with this, I'm just struggling with how to put it together.
Also, any recommendations on reducing ambient hum and guitar/ guitar pedal noise?
You are a great teacher … thank you
Many thanks for your complete review, could please share info about the usb cable ? My MG10XU keep give noise sound out randomly when usb cable connected to pc/laptop, but when I try to connect through line 5-10 and the usb cable unplugged there is no noise sound out.
Jordan, thank you for making these videos on the Yamaha MG10XU. I'll purchase one using your affiliate link now!
Great review and explanation of the Yamaha! I have this mixer. How can I incorporate two Kustom passive monitors along with two ION Total PA Ultra's (500w)? I also have a powered subwoofer and I'm trying to find the best way to hook it up so my vocal group can hear ourselves as well as the music on stage?
I've been watching a ton of your content lately to try and decide what to buy, great tutorials btw! But I'm looking for an audio interface for my headphones and audio technica at2020 microphone. I also have an shure sm58 for recording vocals. So I sometimes do some recording of vocals, but mostly use my at2020 for work conference calls and discord podcast / gaming sessions with friends. I want the ability to use some EQ, compression and sometimes some reverb would be nice whenever I sing "live". Most of these boards feel kind of overkill for my use case. Do you have any other recommendations more in line with my use case?
Great review! I´m really new to this. Got the mixer but didn´t really know how to use it properly.
Great to hear!
this has helped me way more than you know
Simple a GREAT video, thank you! I am trying to fully understand the USB audio in/out. There is one or two things which was not clear. You talked about now wanting the feedback of sound coming into the soundboard vai the computer and then going out by the computer and back into the computer, but I am not 100% clear how this happens and the solution. My impression is this is caused when you use regular audio out cables going into the 1/4 phone inputs on ch 9/10 and is solved by pressing the button to use USB as the input from the computer. Is that correct? If not, now is the problem caused, and what is the solution?
