Recently aquired an ag03 and sm58, found your channel researching the components deeper and have found your content helpful
Thank you! I’m a long time singer, but sort of an audio newbie. This video with explanations about line level, Mike level and changing them was super helpful. Thank you thank you thank you.
Thank you for this video! This is gold! Very informative with great explanations and demos as usually 👏👏👏
I got a Scarlett 2i2, and recently bought a Mackie ProFX10v3 (it's in the mail), and a NEAT
KING BEE II...
very interesting video...

Glad it was helpful!
@@kettnercreative how do i hookup 4 speakers to a mixer if a mixer only has two trs cables?
Great video. Thank you.
Great Info!!!! just came across your site. I am looking for the best way to connect my rig correctly. For studio recording I am connecting my workstation directly to my interface inputs, my midi controller, workstation, and drum pad connected via USB to my computer. Interface line out to my speakers. Just wondering do you have a video for correctly wiring for live gigs. Thanks look forward to surfing your videos.
Another great and helpful video! Thanks man!
Happy to help!
Excellent video. Thank you Jordan!
You're welcome!
Always very informative! U got a new sub👍
Thanks for the sub!
Awesome stuff! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do!
Hi, excellent video. I have the PRO FX10 V3 and do not have the PAD 26db.
Dude thank you for the DI box advice. For a gig I have coming up they only have a speaker that supports both xlr and trs inputs but they're both mic-level and the only line-level input they have is rca and I was like really??? Solid option though you just helped me save a ton of time.
Thank you!
Liked and subscribed, now i can get my mixer into my scarlet solo and use 2 broadcast mics into my mixer through the scart solo line to my computer
I looooove my Mackie ProFX6v3 and my Scarlett 2i2.
I have a Yamaha MG06X too which I adore…its compact and the D-Pre amps are whisper quiet compared to the Onyx Preamps in the Mackie but for DJ’ing the gigFX engine is my favorite when I’m on the mic 🎤
Hey there, Just received my Focusrite Vocaster One and hopefully you can help me out!
How do i disable the monitoring of my Mic while using it? I dont like to hear myself and its freaking me out, because i cant find a way to do so.
Thank you!
Thankyou Bro.
Can we connect the Head Phones 1/4" to a Camera 3.5mm to record
Can I take a Keyboard Line Level input to a 2 XLR connected to a Mixer - What are the adjustments preferred without peaking.. precautions!
Should I connect my iPhone on the front of the interface with a balanced TRS 1/4 cable? Or unbalanced on the back on inputs 3 and 4? Focusrite 6i6 2nd generation. Just want to listen to my audio through it without taking my headset off or having my microphone pick up my phones audio. 😊
In option 2, since you’re using left channel on output you get two signal but as mono signal right?
How would you connect it to virtual dj and configure the settings?
Can I go RCA Out to Camera interface 1/8 jack?
Excellent video. I have a guitar modeler. A Line 6 Helix. It has XLR balanced outputs with line level signals. I set my presets to -12 DBs . How would be the best way to send my signal to FOH and avoid clipping ?
DiBox or XLR Pad.
The mixer says Mic / Line.
Generally does that mean it’s line level if using a TRS, and mic level if using an XLR? Or does it mean the pad will make it go from line level to mic level?
Hey, my name is Daniel and I live in Greece. I am working as a Dj at events, weddings and parties! First of all, I want to thank you about your videos at UA-cam. Your job is amazing and the best. Secondary, I have a question about audio system setup. I have a Yamaha MG16XU mixer and I want to connect a guitar and bass to the mixer, but the distance is about 10 meters. My di boxes are the Behringer DI-20 and I don’t know how exactly should connect it to my mixer. I will connect the guitar to Channel 1 In of DI-20 with TS to TS mono cable and I will also connect the CH1 out of DI-20 to the mixer with XLR to XLR cable that is about 10 meters. Should I click on the pad button in the mixer or leave it disable to work as mic level input? Sorry for my English, and thank you for your help!
You don't need the pad, just leave it at mic level. The DI box will automatically set everything to mic level for you.
Finally someone that explain it clearly ...Thank you, new subs here 💯
Thanks for the sub!
a set of resistors, pods and solder will set you up !
That's basically what a DI box is.
Have a Boss VE Vocal Harmonist Pedal. Wanted to use it through my Yamaha Mixer. It runs with an 18 volt power supply. What is the safest way to use it through my mixer? Do I use a Direct Box or can I simply run straight into the mixer. *So,.. is mic to pedal to mixer possible safely?*
That’s what I would do.
Pad its the same button with the hi z from Mackie?
No, Hi-z is very different than pad.
Pad reduces the signal strength
Hi-Z changes the impedance for instruments with magnetic pickups.
Hey question: using the mg10xuf as a midi tool to post production eq?
Can’t do it, the MG10XU doesn’t work as a midi surface.
Hi Kettner, I have a wireless mic which is over powering my mixer XLR input which has no bulit in pad. There is hardly any adjustment available on the gain control causing feedback - what is the name of the inline XLR pad please I would like to order one - many thanks Chris
Shure In-Line XLR Pad: currentprice.io/xlr_pad
Thank you so much ... Very helpful great video
PLS MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT CONNECTING AN UNBALANCED DJ CONTROLLER TO PASSIVE SPEAKERS AND A SUB USING A DI BOX!!
To passive speakers, through a power amp?
I think you ignored that the fx send on the yahmaha mg10 is +4 when you talked about how to do a mix minus with it
It had me really confused for a minute why the audio sounded so so bad
😢
I don’t undestand how with option 1 the signal gets reduced by using the trs cable to the audio interface mic input.
The TRS input on the mixer is always line level.
So pressing the 26 db reduced the signal?
That’s right.
@@kettnercreative thank you so much..
No, I want to convert a mic into a line input
I can’t find anything that says that
Absolutely nothing to understand. I am pure stupid.....
