Appreciate your content! I’m an amateur player playing in musicals sometimes for a little stipend, often volunteer. One trouble I have is rehearsing on my own. A lot of times we don’t have rehearsal tracks or anything that matches our music. Or we won’t have the entre act or bows to listen to. Any tips on preparing for those numbers? Tia!

@@jamhanna79 yeah that definitely makes it challenging. For musicals I’m preparing, I often get a recording with a conductor camera to play along with before stepping into the hot seat. I think the best thing you can do is record your rehearsals and then play along with those recordings. It’ll help a lot. Especially if you are recording a run-through of each number. Unfortunately, there’s no way for you to really prepare before the first rehearsal, other than just practicing the sheet music!
