In this video I talk about practicing and playing a reasonable amount before a performance, so that you don't wear yourself out. It's possible to practice and play 6 hours before a performance, BUT, only if you've gotten to the point where you're just "singing" and not thinking about all the physical "stuff." Please take a listen! Thanks!
Right on Jeremy! When I was playing a lot or if I'm playing a lot I have to take a little longer in the warmup and use multiple short sessions to work on stuff. Great approach for kids as well. Thanks.
Hi Jeremy,
As Always thank you for your helpful tips and suggestions.
I do a warm up including long tones and flexibility slurs, the 7 fingering sequence. But all this takes upwards of 50 minutes. Is that too much? And yes, I feel tired at the end.
Also, what numbers of the Schlossberg are you playing?
Thank you again for your great UA-cam short videos!
Sincerely
Larry Peltz
Hi Larry! How’s everything in Thailand? I think you’re fine doing your 50 minute routine… as long as you have time in the day to incorporate some music, lyrical studies, some articulations, you’ll be in good shape.
I do Schlossberg 6, 31, 13, and 14 every day. I like those a lot 😊👍
