Stephanie, thank you so much for your review of these - and all - products. I was JUST about to pull the trigger on the ilia foundation stick but will be rethinking. It seemed like such an ideal option for travel! But I’m in the south, like you, and even though I’m in my mid-50s, my skin is still oily! You’re the best! Thanks for steering us in the right direction! ❤
The new Wet n Wild foundation just became my go-to because they actually had my perfect shade and lasted all day without picking out all my fine lines.
Can you please test the new Lisa Eldridge skin tint? I've been pleasantly surprised by it, and she has a light olive shade! She also mentioned using the olive #5 for redness in the complexion even for other undertones.
Thanks for this. What you had happen with the Physicians Formula BB Cream is the problem I have with SO MANY foundations and BB creams! I don't know what's wrong with my skin (or skincare products???) but I can't seem to find anything that doesn't do this to my skin at some point, _if not right away!_ I've tried with and without different primers; with and without different sunscreens, and I still end up looking like a cakey mess -- just like you did in that video. Maybe it's menopause. Maybe I just haven't found the perfect formula. Maybe I haven't found the right combination of skincare and foundation/BB cream. Maybe my skin is mutant! 🤖😄 I don't know, but...I'm about to give up 😞 Maybe I should try that Physician's Formula BB cream. It just might work for me! 😂
LOL at your opposite theory! Maybe experiment using the most minimal skincare on a day when you're not going anywhere. Just wash your face and apply a very light basic moisturizer and let it sink in and then see what works? That's so weird!
I don't know what happened to Physican's Formula, but it's NOT GOOD to say the least! I used to LOVE their cushion foundation and "Insta ready" concealer from years ago. But then they discontinued those and started making heavily fragranced, low quality products. So I'm not surprised to see yet another disaster from them with this BB cream. It's a shame because they used to have products I really liked, but now I wouldn't dream of getting any complexion products from them! I want to try the Wet N Wild skin tint, but wish it had SPF in it, like their cushion foundation that I loved used to (that was also discontinued, unfortunately!).
So I may have the attention span of a parakeet, BUT I watch all of your videos. I’m here for information and you’re here to deliver it. You have such a good sense of your audience that I APPRECIATE so much.
I loved the original version too and it was the first ‘store’ foundation I had worn in 25 years. I’m a die hard Cinema Secrets professional foundation girl- it’s a gorgeous second skin - non detectable but full coverage-cream foundation❤❤❤ But did really like original Bare Pro but it oxidized so badly. I even checked reviews and happened to so many others.
I have had to go with different pros it’s turning 60. Now 63 it’s even changing up some now. I love your videos tho. You give us the scoop. Even if we aren’t your skin type. That’s a bonus for sure
Love these reviews! You mentioned the Estee Lauder foundation and I see there are a few versions of it. Can you share which version you used and were happy with. I do have dry skin with an oily T-zone.
I am 53 and for the last 2 years have been dedicated to It better than skin foundation. It’s amazing. Not sure if you have tried that! Would love to see a video on it.
Thank you for such a detailed review of these foundations. Didn’t seem like any of them are promising. Have you tested the Lancôme stick foundation? I am curious about that one. Thanks for your all your effort to help us out😋💕
I 100% agree with you about the Physicians Formula Diamond Bb Cream! I had the exact same experience! I couldn’t even wear it. It’s awful! I DO NOT recommend! But I love the MUF Hydraglow foundation! It’s excellent!
I can’t figure out why some companies formulate their foundation shades with so much yellow in them, especially in the shades labeled as neutral. It’s such a challenge to find the correct shade in foundations that I find myself quite hesitant to try new ones.
So for oily we're supposed to wear BB Gel tinted cream. I follow a lady that worked in product development. She's oily and older. The ingredients aren't heavy moisturizers. Will it blur? No clue. But heard tartes putty primer was bomb. I have big pores and cystic acne with scarring so im not a big fan of thin formulas like Bobbi Brown. I use Juice Beauty skincare and my skin has dramatically changed. I incorporate chemical peels as well. Whats your skincare?
Thank you for saving me from wasting time and money on the Ilia stick foundation. I’m trying to find a good one for travel (to minimize liquids and avoid having to check a bag). I think we have a similar skin type, so I’ll skip this one 😊
Can you tell us what primer you used with the MUFE HD Skin foundation? The concealer is beautiful and it's the most natural looking concealer that I've seen on myself and others. The foundation however, isn't behaving for me. 😂 It looks great at first, but it starts breaking down on me fast. And by fast I mean, just on the one hour drive to work, fast!
Hi Stephanie, thanks for the video very informative. I’m interested in the Wet n Wild bare focus, as I really don’t wear foundation. I’m more of a skin tint girl. What was the original Bare Minerals you mentioned in this video? I’m also interested in that one. Thank you.
Hi, Stephanie.I have been using the house labs.Triclone foundation. I am fifty eight, Mature skin.Of course and i'm absolutely loving that foundation! I wasn't sure you wanted to spend that much money on a foundation but I am so glad I did. You really don't need to use much of it and get quite a big bottle for the money in my opinion. I do prime my skin but I also use sunscreen the alastin sunscreen or the Drmatogy. Maybe i5s the combination...but I've had pretty good l7ck. I don't have much breakdown throughout the day. Have you tried it?
Hi! Yes, it's one of my faves! My foundation roundups playlist has all of my previous videos if you're ever curious if I've reviewed a foundation :) That's a great one.
Although, I’ve used bareMinerals products since they were first released (as Bare Escentuals), I’ve not been fond of their foundations. The light ones all skew warm on me. I used Fairly Light in the original powder foundation for years, because Fair was too light. Mixed, they were still too warm. I know they have a lot more colors available now, but I’m not willing to try them because it’s expensive to do and because of my experience that even their coolest colors skew warm. I stopped using their foundations when I aged out of them. They all started to look cakey and settle into wrinkles.
Sadly i cant relate to any foundation for on this list they are all too pricey i can get the same affect through some of the drugstore im 48 so im constantly on a lookout for the best ❤
Wet n Wild is too pricey too? Two of the six are drugstore. I have lots of reviews that include drugstore. I’m also 48 and review foundations at all price ranges. Good luck!
Hi Stephanie, this question is for a powder foundation you reviewed in the past I've been going back and watching some old videos. Can you tell me which Tarte Amazonian clay foundation you prefer, Gem loose vs. the Blurring one? Thank you!!
I have been enjoying the ilia stick foundation. I have dry skin and I’m over 60. I don’t have to set it and it blurs my pores. In fact I don’t think it mixes well with powder. I’ve had it a week and I’m figuring it out but I do like it so far.
I tried the Ilia foundation stick and loved it but about two weeks in it started breaking out my chin area. I have normal to dry sensitive skin. Ilia did give me a refund though.
I got the same thing with the Kosas.it also broke up on me.i have normal to dry skin.i had high hopes for this.im always looking for a light foundation.
I swore by BareMinerals BarePro, but when they reformulated to the 24 hr wear it made my skin DRY, cakey, and showed all my wrinkles. Plus I have pink undertones and could not find a shade close to the previous one I wore (Flax 9.5). So disappointed in the new formula! Trying to find a replacement, thus watching this video.
I have dry skin and sadly the ILIA Skin Rewind Blurring Complexion Stick didn’t work for me. Started to ware off after a few hours and when l needed to blow my nose the foundation came off. ☹️
Would love to find a medium cov'g foundation in a semi matte/ satin finish. I do not like dewy , glowy , radiant , etc because my natural oils already create dewy look. I have 55yo combo oily skin and avoid layering primer and powder products.
Have you tried ELDW or Fenty Soft Matte, applied with a damp sponge? Both can give natural, gorgeous medium coverage. I'll also be sharing the new UD Face Bond in Sunday morning's video. However, as someone who also creates her own dew, I find I can go without primer easily, but it's impossible to not set my foundation with powder...no matter how matte or bulletproof it claims to be. Thankfully, today's translucent powders are stunningly invisible, lightweight and look like skin - not like powder :)
That's a pricey request but an interesting thought! 😆 I actually just bought their new release, which is my first Sisley foundation ever for my upcoming foundation roundup. It should go live next week 💖
Oh exciting ❤ I’m looking forward to it. I’m using the Phyto-Teint Ultra Eclat and even though I don’t have a perfect shade match this is my favourite foundation because of how it wears through the day. So I’m interested in what their other foundations would do..
To explain, I’m 40 and still have issues with acne and a lot of scarring/texture and get oily pretty fast so I shouldn’t love this type of foundation but I absolutely do. Of course I need to blot this as I need with every foundation I ever owned.
I'm soooo sad bareminerals reformulated the barepro foundation 💔 That's been my holy grail for years now! I always use it for special events when I know I'm going to be wearing my makeup for a long period of time. It never broke up on me, lasted through sweat and looked so smooth on my pores. It bothers me when brands reformulate a product that was already amazing 😭💔 looks like I'm going to have to find a new one now 😭
I have such a hard time finding a foundation I am truly happy with. I know part of it is my 50 plus skin; but I can’t help but think that the reason SO many foundations are so awful is because there is so much skincare crap in formulas now. I use good skincare. I do not need skincare added into my foundation. Time to go back to old school foundation formulas.
I agree with you about the KOSAS BB Burst Tinted Gel Cream, it did feel tacky on me too. I was disappointed. The only one I love is the Laura Mercier skin tint natural the best skin tint ever. The only thing is it does not have major skin benefits which I'm looking for now.
You can use anything you want to use and that works well for you. There are no firm beauty rules. Since everyone with mature skin is different (some oily and some dry), you never know what will work for you.

Glad to hear about the hd foundation. I have dry skin so formula would work but the wear time at 5 hours isn’t good. Won’t even last me a day at work

I like the lancolm stick foundation. That's the only one I've liked.

Hi Stephanie 😃
Do you have any suggestions for techniques or certain foundations, powders to make pores look less visible on the nose?
LEMON EXTRACT 2nd ingredient. As an essential oil sensitive person I’d be too scared to try 😢
No, she said lemon oil 2/3rds of the way down the ingredients list and no detectable fragrance.
