I just wish they’d get their 787s on more North American routes (or refit their 777s…). Their 777s are still competitive but they feel like they’re decades old compared to the new layout. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Those reverse herringbone seats mean that you are far less likely to get a bad seat. But I agree that they could improve those seats with doors on the 777s.

I’ve only been on the EVA 777-300ER with the older business class seats.. but I had no complaints about that , ever(!). .. the tipping point into the excellent category for me is the quietly superb and totally professional crew who truly show their dedication and care for the job they do so well..I’m really glad that EVA still want to excel and don’t let any standards slip at all..it seems they just get better and better .. 🙏

I've flown Royal Laurel Business roundtrip EVA LAX to TPE three times in 2023 (all 777's). Their crew, the service and dining is the best I've experienced. The pajamas and amenity kit are beyond fantastic.I have 6 pair now and shhhhhh, they make great gifts. Dining on EVA is next level good.
The Taiwanese carriers are very high on my avgeek bucket list in terms of flight experiences. Although EVA’s are the least eye-catching, i adore all their cabin decor and colour schemes so much. I mean, China Airlines’ A350 business class is the inspiration for my room in my family’s new house.
EVA has long been one of my favorite airlines, especially to and from Asia. I began flying with them shortly after they introduced Premium Economy, then called Evergreen Deluxe Class. Their Premium Economy is, for my money, best in the air. And Business Class is akin to First on any American carrier. Will always look for them when making reservations. And I agree with the reviewer, the coffee, freshly brewed, is terrific. Several years back I became ill enroute to Taipei from New York. After attending to me on a blanket on the galley floor and locating a doctor on board, they kindly moved me to Business for the remainder of the flight.
As a Taiwanese, I am very happy Taiwan have such a great airline. By the way, thank you for choosing EVA Air and hope you experiencing other two airlines (China Airlines and Starlux Airline) in the future.
I love EVA and seeing you on this flight made me happy but also really sad that I have not been on an EVA plane for a long while. Their staff is by far the best that I have experienced in the air and on ground.
I'm watching this one at 3am and damn the pjs, Slippers, cosy comfertor, amenities kit along with some stunning food would have me lulled to sleep in no time 😴 This does deserve a perfect score 👍

Having flown them several times in Business now I have formed a quite strong emotional attachment to EVA, not that I can really explain it. Flying with them is just so satisfying on every level. Very glad to see them do so well in your review. I trust you have since received your luggage.
I flew MUC-TPE in this class and plane 2 weeks ago and it was equally spectacular. I don’t fly business often so it was a real treat. Only issue is that my true window seat (5A) was taken away to a rebooking and I ended up switching seats on the plane with another passenger so I at least got 6k (window but less privacy). Thanks for that report, it showed me again how special that flight really was!
Wow this is impressive. I have always been putting Eva Air on hold. I am now strongly convinced by their immaculate seat, food choice and setting, and outstanding choice of amenity kit selection. Definitely going to fly with Eva Air to very soon. Thank you for making an excellent video like this.

I’ve been binge watching all your reviews - and this was the first time I’m seeing EVA air (I had no idea it was a Taiwanese airline ; and never paid it any attention when it was listed on Traveloka) . These Taiwanese airlines are real sleeper hits - coming out of nowhere (or may I’m just oblivious) with superb quality and good prices
I flew EVA a couple months ago from SFO-TPE-BKK round trip in PE on their 777s. The business class cabin in your video looks much better than the one I walked through on the 777s. Those looked a bit cramped and the seats looked narrow. The PE seats in the 777 were definitely showing their age. I had to use a pillow as a lumbar support to not feel a metal bar digging into my back on the TPE-SFO leg. The crews were quite efficient. The biggest downside was the catering from Taipei. It ranged from adequate to completely inedible (from TPE to SFO). Their catering from BKK was the best, while that from SFO was mostly okay.
I'm flying from Vienna to BKK in mid September with Eva and you put my mind at rest on booking this flight.I have no prior experience with Eva Air so seeing your review was very timely. Icannot wait for the food 😊. Thanks.☘️
They do except for one Philippine Airlines which means if you are destination is Manila from Vienna you want to stick with Eva Air on the last leg of the trip otherwise you will be downgrading service on Taipei to Manila. Ask this to a Taiwanese or Hong konger traveler EVA Air or Philippine Airlines their answer is always going to be the Taiwanese
EVA is my favorite airline, world wide! I flew exclusively in EVA during the five years I worked and lived in Thailand...I flew Economy Plus, which was located in the nose of the plane...the food was really tasty and I loved the Haagen Dazs ice cream...Also noodles whenever hunger struck in between meals...The seat was large and comfy...I really miss EVA since retirement to the States...sigh.
I really appreciate the fact that you are self funded unlike many others and I think your posts are super and to the point. Please if you wouldn’t mind, always mention which champagne is served on each airline. An odd request perhaps but with two disaster, very expensive business class flights from Emirates, Lufthansa, for the price it seriously makes a difference for me.
I haven't worked in the restaurant industry but I'd guess success is partly based on coordination between kitchen and food delivery to create a seamless meal experience. Limited space in an airplane galley and isles would make this more challenging in the air. What impressed me with my flight on EVA was that the multi-course meal service was plated beautifully and delivered at a perfect pace. Training, coordination, and attention to detail made the experience unforgettable.
the eva crew really takes care of the bathroom too. on these long haul flights when service is over, i’ve experienced the crew to wipe down the bathroom after each passenger’s turn.
Great review, Kevin. Had the luxury to fly EVA Business on s 4 year old 787-10 from YVR to Teipei and it was an amazing experience. The seats were awesome and the food was way above average. EVA is one of my favorite airlines, I'd fly them every chance I get.
The Taiwanese are one of if not the friendliest, courteous, and efficient people (especially in service industries) I have come across. Japanese are only polite for show but the Taiwanese go out of their way to really help out
I have taken this route several times and you are spot on. The only difference is the amenity kit, I have been able to collect those lovely green RIMOWA kits.

Perfect score! Yes, I also think EVA deserves it. I can’t help comparing it with Singapore Airline where cost cutting was highly visible. For example, SIA keep providing ‘hawker type’ of food fare which really come across as cheap albeit novel for those unfamiliar. The EVA cabin design certainly beats that in SIA where the need to contort one’s legs to lie flat is really unacceptable. Thanks for the review.
It boggles my mind how a plane can take off with its passengers, but not said passenger's luggage. Also holy shit they gave u an actual down pillow to use?!!? WHAT O.O And my god the food service on this flight is incredible, not just in terms of the quantity but also the quality. Damn EVA u on my radar now.
Had to get my laptop out to comment on this one.........I have done the Sing to Seattle hop a few times with EVA (even in the 747 days)and totally agree with your assessment . They definitely know how to cross T's and dot i's, and those sexy aprons they put on for meal service are a knock out.......The only downside for me is the airport at Taipei, can be a bit of a bus shelter at some gates.
Man, this is the first video I watch from you, and I absolutely loved it. I'm living in Taiwan, so Eva is my fav airlines. Flew in J with them on the B789 to Milan last Christmas (finally got good used of the miles) and I was blown away too. Still using the PJs at home haha. If only they increase the offer on the IFE and improve the app (which is quite slow and limited with functions), it would be just there at the top. But soft and hard products are just that good.
I have also had extremely good experiences flying EVA in economy. In addition, their flights can often be the cheapest option when compared to other full service airlines
Great review - and bonus points for sparing us any of that cat's whiskers malarkey. I felt for you during the baggage-loss drama. Airlines really should be doing better by now but, in the meantime, my flight choices are partially influenced by my assessment of baggage-loss risk. Rather surprised that EVA can make that route pay. Food? Top-notch.

I agree EVA is fantastic. Here in YVR we did have the 787 but got switched out soon after for 777. I believe there was a backlash that premium economy is noticeably absent on the 787 and it's popular here. Also flight leaves early morning here and you just wanna sleep when get on board
Yeah, I honestly don't know why they eliminated Premium Economy. They were the first ever airline to offer it way back in the 90s and have always seemed to do really well with it- Their 64 seat PE cabin on some of their 777s has to be the largest PE cabin on any airline. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Ferragamos are known for their high end leather shoes. After my first one, all my LVs have in storage. I’m like a kid in candy store whenever I visit their store. I would love to have this amenity kit bag❤️.

Wow what a wonderful flight. I often fly EVA but on their 777 which was also good. The 787 has more cutting edges. EVA product is better than China Airlines as they offer better quality of food and amenities - China Airlines on the other hand has better interior. My new favorite is actually Starlux. It feels a step up above EVA- strong focus on Taiwanese food and the food quality is even better. Starlux crew also seems more passionate about what they do. Can't wait for your reivew on their long haul flight :)

I wanted to ask if you would recommend the Ritz Carlton or the Apurva Kempinski in Nusa Dua. Great review as always!
The RC I’ve not been to, but there’s nothing about it that seems all of that impressive to me. For the Kempinski, I’ll recommend to you the same that I did to my family that recently went to Bali (and stayed at the Belmond)… goto the Kempinski for Lunch one day… have a walk around the resort, enjoy the beauty of it all. It is a stunning setting which is worth a visit, but if the Belmond is your vibe, then I’d probably spend my nights there. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I'm Vietnamese and EVA has strong connections with Vietnam from where I live, everyone loves it, and also China Airlines. You should consider China Airlines as well, it's a solid airline thats awesome.
Yupp, I live in VN and have always appreciated that EVA generally have Vnese (and Tagalog) speakers on their North American and European flights since so many from VN and PH transit with them. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I flew on EVA almost exclusively for nearly 20 years and I still love them but with their business class is so much higher than other airlines I can't justify flying on them anymore. They are between $1000 to $2000 more than other airlines like ANA and Singapore.

I think Veuve La Grande Dame 2008 is more on the $200 range? At some point they served the 2006 vintage instead which was more on the 200-300 range but I think they ran out of that entire vintage so now surprisingly it’s Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle (an excellent F quality champagne) for JFK/CDG and Duval-Leroy Clos des Bouveries 2006 vintage for others….EVA consistently serving F champagne in business class!
I get all of my pricing info from Wine-Searcher. Was available for that price at the time of creating the graphics for this video. But yes, either way they do certainly outperform with Champagne regardless.

I’ve always had good food on EVA (in the air not in the lounges…). For the best product you’d just need to choose from any of their 787 destinations. EVA just added a 3rd daily to Saigon using a 787 (first time for Saigon…) perhaps they’ll do the same in Singapore… then it would be an easy choice haha.
Awesome video! This carrier is definitely on my wish list. China airlines, their competitor - also has a pretty spiffy looking JCL cabin. Far out, your meal service was absolutely first class! The 787 window tint differs from aircraft to aircraft. I noticed the older the plane is, the less effective is the tint.

Another fantastic report on a really good product. Again done in your by now absolutely professional format, starting with the seat map, the route information and info on the airline. And a really nice , systematic and consecutive narrative.The por medaillions looked wonderful..and once i saw them i realized like struck by lightning what i have been missing for 10 years on my favourite Gulf airlines😂 To find La Grande Dame in Business Class seems unique to me..it is typically a First Class Champagne. Wines though were typical business class, like a 2015 Bordeaux. The more i watched it the more i thought: would like to try them. But then, at the end, came the total spoiler, which you had nicely hinted before: they locked these silly 787 windows..an absolut NO GO for me. I would never ever fly an airline knowing they do this. Did you ask for your window to be unlocked? It worked for me when i was once trapped on such a flight. Hope your luggage has arrived!
The 2nd half of the flight was in the dark so didn’t think to ask until too late. I normally film the final approach from the moment I can feel we start the descent. I wait five minutes after that and asked. I was told they’d be unlocked shortly. Again 11 minutes before landing I ask and they said yes they’re doing I now… which was true, but that’s when I learned it takes a solid 5 minutes to undim lol. Pretty sure if I’d asked (had I known) in the beginning of the flight for at least my windows to be unlocked 30 minutes out they would have obliged. And yes, got my two bags around 4 days after arrival. Both were sent via different routing so it was… ‘fun’… to watch it unfold lol. Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻
To be honest, Qantas’ Vantage XL feel like a “Vantage M” compared to this one haha. Saw the Qantas J cabin last week (just walking through, flew in Eco) and it just looked so… small? Idk… Similar to how the Austrian J cabin just had a miniature-scale quality to it.
Yes, EVA AIR really does fantastic jobs on their flights, its products are a great combination of Oriental attentiveness & Western stylishness. The Taiwanese airline has never disappointed me up till now.
Will fly them in 4 weeks... VIE-BKK and on my return KLU-TPE-BKK-VIE... All in C so looking forward... Did our honeymoon back in 2009 on a similar route but in their A330-200 then... Service was great but seats were only angled flat
Use EvaAir from Sea via Taiwan via Cebu. 787-10 Sea to TPI and an A330 to CEB. With my girlfriend returned to visit my family in Washington state in business class we chose the center 2 seats as together. She flown in the Philippines but never the long international flights. She was so excited approaching Seattle as it very clear and Mt Rainer was visible.and she was crying. The flight attendant came and if she ok.and have her a hug, much more compassionate than the US domestic airlines where is always a drunk racist on board.
Sure, you said the perfect score came down to the lost baggage support, but is it just a coincidence that it was given on a flight where the slippers resembled flip flops...? 😉

I flew EVA a couple months ago from SFO-TPE-BKK round trip in PE on their 777s. The business class cabin in your video looks much better than the one I walked through on the 777s. Those looked a bit cramped and the seats looked narrow. The PE seats in the 777 were definitely showing their age. I had to use a pillow as a lumbar support to not feel a metal bar digging into my back on the TPE-SFO leg.
The crews were quite efficient. The biggest downside was the catering from Taipei. It ranged from adequate to completely inedible (from TPE to SFO). Their catering from BKK was the best, while that from SFO was mostly okay.

They do except for one Philippine Airlines which means if you are destination is Manila from Vienna you want to stick with Eva Air on the last leg of the trip otherwise you will be downgrading service on Taipei to Manila. Ask this to a Taiwanese or Hong konger traveler EVA Air or Philippine Airlines their answer is always going to be the Taiwanese
EVA is my favorite airline, world wide! I flew exclusively in EVA during the five years I worked and lived in Thailand...I flew Economy Plus, which was located in the nose of the plane...the food was really tasty and I loved the Haagen Dazs ice cream...Also noodles whenever hunger struck in between meals...The seat was large and comfy...I really miss EVA since retirement to the States...sigh.

An odd request perhaps but with two disaster, very expensive business class flights from Emirates, Lufthansa, for the price it seriously makes a difference for me.

I haven't worked in the restaurant industry but I'd guess success is partly based on coordination between kitchen and food delivery to create a seamless meal experience. Limited space in an airplane galley and isles would make this more challenging in the air. What impressed me with my flight on EVA was that the multi-course meal service was plated beautifully and delivered at a perfect pace. Training, coordination, and attention to detail made the experience unforgettable.

the eva crew really takes care of the bathroom too. on these long haul flights when service is over, i’ve experienced the crew to wipe down the bathroom after each passenger’s turn.

Great review, Kevin. Had the luxury to fly EVA Business on s 4 year old 787-10 from YVR to Teipei and it was an amazing experience. The seats were awesome and the food was way above average. EVA is one of my favorite airlines, I'd fly them every chance I get.

The Taiwanese are one of if not the friendliest, courteous, and efficient people (especially in service industries) I have come across. Japanese are only polite for show but the Taiwanese go out of their way to really help out

Perfect score! Yes, I also think EVA deserves it. I can’t help comparing it with Singapore Airline where cost cutting was highly visible. For example, SIA keep providing ‘hawker type’ of food fare which really come across as cheap albeit novel for those unfamiliar. The EVA cabin design certainly beats that in SIA where the need to contort one’s legs to lie flat is really unacceptable. Thanks for the review.

Had to get my laptop out to comment on this one.........I have done the Sing to Seattle hop a few times with EVA (even in the 747 days)and totally agree with your assessment . They definitely know how to cross T's and dot i's, and those sexy aprons they put on for meal service are a knock out.......The only downside for me is the airport at Taipei, can be a bit of a bus shelter at some gates.
And the lounges in Taipei are surprisingly average. But, still a great product overall. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Man, this is the first video I watch from you, and I absolutely loved it. I'm living in Taiwan, so Eva is my fav airlines. Flew in J with them on the B789 to Milan last Christmas (finally got good used of the miles) and I was blown away too. Still using the PJs at home haha. If only they increase the offer on the IFE and improve the app (which is quite slow and limited with functions), it would be just there at the top. But soft and hard products are just that good.
My PJs are living their best life still in the packaging waiting to some day be put in some sort of aviation display cabinet 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Airlines really should be doing better by now but, in the meantime, my flight choices are partially influenced by my assessment of baggage-loss risk. Rather surprised that EVA can make that route pay. Food? Top-notch.

I agree EVA is fantastic. Here in YVR we did have the 787 but got switched out soon after for 777. I believe there was a backlash that premium economy is noticeably absent on the 787 and it's popular here. Also flight leaves early morning here and you just wanna sleep when get on board
Yeah, I honestly don't know why they eliminated Premium Economy. They were the first ever airline to offer it way back in the 90s and have always seemed to do really well with it- Their 64 seat PE cabin on some of their 777s has to be the largest PE cabin on any airline. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Wow what a wonderful flight. I often fly EVA but on their 777 which was also good. The 787 has more cutting edges. EVA product is better than China Airlines as they offer better quality of food and amenities - China Airlines on the other hand has better interior. My new favorite is actually Starlux. It feels a step up above EVA- strong focus on Taiwanese food and the food quality is even better. Starlux crew also seems more passionate about what they do. Can't wait for your reivew on their long haul flight :)

Hey Kevin, I love your reviews and they have inspired me to start traveling again. Your reviews were so captivating I have booked a trip to Bali to check out the Belmond Jimbaran and Como Uma Ubud. I wanted to ask if you would recommend the Ritz Carlton or the Apurva Kempinski in Nusa Dua. Great review as always!
The RC I’ve not been to, but there’s nothing about it that seems all of that impressive to me. For the Kempinski, I’ll recommend to you the same that I did to my family that recently went to Bali (and stayed at the Belmond)… goto the Kempinski for Lunch one day… have a walk around the resort, enjoy the beauty of it all. It is a stunning setting which is worth a visit, but if the Belmond is your vibe, then I’d probably spend my nights there. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I'm Vietnamese and EVA has strong connections with Vietnam from where I live, everyone loves it, and also China Airlines. You should consider China Airlines as well, it's a solid airline thats awesome.
Yupp, I live in VN and have always appreciated that EVA generally have Vnese (and Tagalog) speakers on their North American and European flights since so many from VN and PH transit with them. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I flew on EVA almost exclusively for nearly 20 years and I still love them but with their business class is so much higher than other airlines I can't justify flying on them anymore. They are between $1000 to $2000 more than other airlines like ANA and Singapore.

I think Veuve La Grande Dame 2008 is more on the $200 range? At some point they served the 2006 vintage instead which was more on the 200-300 range but I think they ran out of that entire vintage so now surprisingly it’s Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle (an excellent F quality champagne) for JFK/CDG and Duval-Leroy Clos des Bouveries 2006 vintage for others….EVA consistently serving F champagne in business class!
I get all of my pricing info from Wine-Searcher. Was available for that price at the time of creating the graphics for this video. But yes, either way they do certainly outperform with Champagne regardless.

I’ve always had good food on EVA (in the air not in the lounges…). For the best product you’d just need to choose from any of their 787 destinations. EVA just added a 3rd daily to Saigon using a 787 (first time for Saigon…) perhaps they’ll do the same in Singapore… then it would be an easy choice haha.

Awesome video! This carrier is definitely on my wish list. China airlines, their competitor - also has a pretty spiffy looking JCL cabin. Far out, your meal service was absolutely first class! The 787 window tint differs from aircraft to aircraft. I noticed the older the plane is, the less effective is the tint.
Yeah there are two variants of the tint. The original tint didn’t block out heat very well, the newer one certainly does a better job at that.

Another fantastic report on a really good product. Again done in your by now absolutely professional format, starting with the seat map, the route information and info on the airline. And a really nice , systematic and consecutive narrative.The por medaillions looked wonderful..and once i saw them i realized like struck by lightning what i have been missing for 10 years on my favourite Gulf airlines😂 To find La Grande Dame in Business Class seems unique to me..it is typically a First Class Champagne. Wines though were typical business class, like a 2015 Bordeaux. The more i watched it the more i thought: would like to try them. But then, at the end, came the total spoiler, which you had nicely hinted before: they locked these silly 787 windows..an absolut NO GO for me. I would never ever fly an airline knowing they do this. Did you ask for your window to be unlocked? It worked for me when i was once trapped on such a flight. Hope your luggage has arrived!
The 2nd half of the flight was in the dark so didn’t think to ask until too late. I normally film the final approach from the moment I can feel we start the descent. I wait five minutes after that and asked. I was told they’d be unlocked shortly. Again 11 minutes before landing I ask and they said yes they’re doing I now… which was true, but that’s when I learned it takes a solid 5 minutes to undim lol. Pretty sure if I’d asked (had I known) in the beginning of the flight for at least my windows to be unlocked 30 minutes out they would have obliged.
And yes, got my two bags around 4 days after arrival. Both were sent via different routing so it was… ‘fun’… to watch it unfold lol. Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻
A rare 100/100 wow! Very smart hard product. Big fan of the Vantage XL seat, although I’ve only experienced it on Qantas thus far.
To be honest, Qantas’ Vantage XL feel like a “Vantage M” compared to this one haha. Saw the Qantas J cabin last week (just walking through, flew in Eco) and it just looked so… small? Idk… Similar to how the Austrian J cabin just had a miniature-scale quality to it.

They still run the same A330s on some regional routes, but mostly leisure destinations. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Use EvaAir from Sea via Taiwan via Cebu. 787-10 Sea to TPI and an A330 to CEB. With my girlfriend returned to visit my family in Washington state in business class we chose the center 2 seats as together. She flown in the Philippines but never the long international flights. She was so excited approaching Seattle as it very clear and Mt Rainer was visible.and she was crying. The flight attendant came and if she ok.and have her a hug, much more compassionate than the US domestic airlines where is always a drunk racist on board.
