Just bringing my experience... I tried using the stereo mode, monitoring and just that on the settings, with a 5V (in and output) usb battery. It’s still running perfectly well (in terms of sound quality) and It’s been 4:30 hours. So... Very good, for my needs. Thanks for the tip

If I connect 2 phantom power microphones on a zoom recorder, hom long would the batteries last (Duracell)? I would need at least 1 hour.

    • @14Gabbis
      @14Gabbis 3 роки тому +1

@@matangox I only tried with phantom off with the Duracell batteries once, and it last close to two hours and a half. I, personally, wouldn’t recommend this type of batteries with phantom on, even with only one microphone. Try it with a usb battery if you can. Maybe it works = )

(5 years late) I must have not been paying close attention, because I thought you first said you can see by the screen there are no batteries in the unit, but then you said you weren't able to boot the unit without batteries?
Side note... I'm trying to figure out which audio recorder to get, and I use a powerbank to run everything else. Was hoping by now (2023) they'd have usb power options, but they don't. Tascam does... and that may be the answer.

This was great. I velcro-ed a 2x3 powerbank to the back of the recorder. Bulky and hefty but it works great.

First time I connected the Zoom to an external supply. I deemed it necessary to remove the alkaline batteries before. Was afraid they will explode. But then I found the Zoom "forgot" the date and time, so I got a mislabled recording. So...can I keep the alkaline batteries in while connected to a usb power supply? Thanks.

also pay attention to output voltage of power bank, I bought mine with 6v/3a in pd mode and didn't even pay attention to that until this moment, thankfully I didn't broke any of my equipment

Thanks for this. I was getting 5mins recording with kodak pound shop batteries.
I'm about to order a 5V USB cable and was wondering if a ferrite choke attached might remove any interference (if there is any) sometimes an issue with power cables to audio devices.

H4N switches off after a minute or so if I am plugging to the power bank I alone ..shall I put a pair of batteries and then plug my power bank . Running both power bank and batteries simultaneously won't damage the device right ?

I thought the H4N needs just 1 amp, but most power banks are 1.5 up to 2.4a. What amps is your power bank? I wonder if it regulates somehow.

So great! Talked to a few people who were getting days, some hours and me, well i would get about an hour of record time at 48/24 on mp3. trying to go wav was just impossible. did not know the consistency would be so different. gotta get that cable.. that was with two XLR inputs and stereo. Anyone else having this battery issue with similar settings?

    Hello,
I wanted to ask you something about voltages of the Power Bank. You said that the USB Power Cable has 5V 1A. I found a power Bank with these settings of voltages:
    Input: 5.0V - 2.1A; Output: 5.0V - 3.1A
Do you think that it could be a problem if Power Bank can give out more Voltages than H4n requires?
Thank you for your response and help!
    Regards, Matej
