"Arayes" is an ARABIC traditional food. The researchers did not do their homework correctly.
Agreed
It's a Lebanese food maybe you should try it

Yeah
It's just that israelis eat it too. No need to hate straight away
I got really worried every time Indonesian dish got featured in videos that they are not bringing its best version. Like this holiday meal of Indonesia : Rendang, Opor Ayam, and Nastar. You will get best taste from homecook only. I never eat those meal in the fancy restaurant since they're tend to tone down the flavor. but hey, Indonesia represent!
Since the Philippines or anything Filipino are being featured here so constantly, what you feel is what we always feel everytime they feature Filipino food and it seemed so luckluster for the same reason the food are just always the best when they're homecooked by the Filipinos themselves.
Not to mention, calling those national holiday food was overrated because different region eat different food.
@@vivanyatodd5036 i think can say i only eat nastar when lebaran tho, and ketupat & opor always all over the place at that time. so seems like holiday food to me.
Fancy restaurants never use MSG. That's why the taste is less delicious.
@@felixoktafmidza5512 you got it wrong,, we use broch, herbs and pepper,, especially when we use coconut,, everything will taste delicious,,
THE UK IS NOT ENGLAND. there are 4 Individual countries that make up the U.K.
Nagol Yentruoc thank f*** someone knows what’s the truth 😂😂
The UK is England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland exactly but I know people from all 4 (I’m English) and none of them would have all those things together lol
Technically Northern Ireland is not a country.
Even though it's wrong many people think of the group of islands as the British Isles and the UK as England. It's just one of those things people commonly misinterpret without meaning to give offense. I guess blame the media?

How is PANETTONE considered typical UK meal when it is literally Italian???????
Right!!
Heres how we Indonesian say those food name:
Pineapple tart thinggy = nastar
The beef coconut curry= rendang
The rice cubes= ketupat
The other curry thats yellow= opor (i cant see but if its chicken= opor ayam)
Apparently they took that "rice cube" quite literally.. I mean, I've never seen ketupat in that form before
Thank you for this comment. I’m Indonesian and I was like “WTH, I don’t know that dish” LOL
And they put them all tgther like its a single dish. Lol bro. U put a whole table menu there.
@@analeighbunny93 perhaps they found someone who smehow eat both rendang and nastar together lol
The curry is "Kari Ayam" or "Ayam Gulai" if I'm not wrong. And about the rice cube, well, actually, one day I was on a restaurant in a mall and they served the rice in the cube shape

“Okayyy England!”
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland: “am I a joke to you”
Yes. They are jokes.
Pretty good jokes, though!
Yes 😅👏🏻
Lol they weren't even from the UK either Yule logs are French and panettone is Italian. Should of used mince pies,Christmas pudding or a roast turkey with all the trimmings
@@olly783 I honestly think they were trolled on this one. I get the UK tie, with original Yule Logs (not the cake) dating back to the Iron Age and is tied to the Celtic Brits and Gaelic Europeans. But, the whole thing totally comes off as a troll and a joke played on people who didn't even take the time to fact check what they were being told...lol. It would have taken them all of a few moments to look up traditional holiday grub in different countries on the internet. But, instead of doing that, they published a video full of rubbish and now they have loads of comments telling them how BS it all is. I really wish they did a better job with this video. :)

This is BS. I live in the UK and have NEVER seen or heard of people traditionally eating yule logs with hot chocolate for Christmas. Yes we have Yule logs (who doesn't its like going to some random Asian or African country and having a burger or a pizza doesn't mean its from there) but those are traditionally a french dessert
Zahid Shabir I don’t even call it a “Yule” log literally a chocolate log😂
As a resident of the UK, more specifically Scotland, Whilst we eat/drink all of these (anytime of the year) I can say that the Panettone, Yule Log and hot chocolate isn't British, Panettone is Italian and Yule Log is French and hot chocolate is worldwide. Christmas Pudding is a British holiday food
I agree 😂 i come from the East Midlands and have never had them at Christmas 😂 more like mince pies and Christmas pudding.
Scott Toal yea same I've never even heard of it
Mince pies or pudding
That kind of thick hot chocolate is also very italian actually
The coconut beef stew, they called here "Rendang" (It's really popular in Indonesia and it got records for the best food in the world if im not wrong)
coconut curry called "Opor Ayam", it's basiclly for celebrating Eid Mubarak. and it always served with that rice cube or we called it "Ketupat" here.
pineapple tart called "Nastar" it's also for celebrating Eid Mubarak, or it's also can be served for Celebrating Christmas in Indonesia.
.
Hope this help!☺️
My fiance (born and raised in Indonesia) says that the Indo foods were more like a US takeout version of Indonesian meals than the actual dishes! 😂
Yeah. It's just how they served it a bit different than the way we used to
Here’s thinking they’d break out mince pies and spiked mulled wine for uk 😩
Exactly 😩
They messed up again. The yule log is french, panettone is Italian and hot chocolate is popular everywhere. No way is UK!
Mince pies would have been more accurate. Roast, parsnip, yorkshire pudding, sprouts maybe? 😓
Oh, poor planning FBE.
Susie Mel should have gone pigs in blankets.

As indonesian, I thought puto bumbong was them misspelled putu bambu. But what do I know? I've searched it, and it's indeed from Philippines and serves every Christmas. It's good to know.
w juga mikir gitu wkwkwk
Isn't the first one from Italy? Because those are the food we eat in Christmas (I'm from Italy): they are "panettone", "tronchetto di Natale" and "cioccolata calda"!!!
Oh, and that "fondue" is a drink, not a dipping sauce. Yes, you can dip some bread but it's not common. You should drink it when it's hot: it's so nice and comforting and it will warm you from the freezing weather of Christmas ;)
yeah i was confused, i thought it was french or italian. im from the uk and i have never seen that dish in my life, let alone it being like a popular holiday dish. odd choice
@@taraascanlon Right? And also the name "panettone", which doesn't have a translation in any language, should suggest something...
We called the pineapple tart as 'nastar' (ananas taart) and always eat a lot of that especially during big holiday season like Eid and Christmas. It taste sweet with a nice hint of pineapple filling, and melt in your mouth.. yum! 🤤

Are no dishes, originating from abroad, served in the UK at all? (You used "it’s a french/Italian dish" as an argument for your claim that "No one in the uk has hot chocolate like that").
I agree that it is not UK tradition or even widely spread, but I also think you got it wrong by claiming 'No one in the UK...' - especially since the 'Superfam' that sent the info in, seems to be one that does. It would be nice though, if the channel would research a bit more, to check if something sent in like that, is actually a tradition or even just widely spread in that country, instead of some random person or family just having their own small family tradition.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone here in the UK eat anything like that at Christmas! More of a snack that’s available all year around. Definitely not a British tradition though, Mince Pies are thé British tradition!! 🎄
People definitely eat the panettone, see them in all the supermarkets around Christmas. Swiss roll and hot chocolate might be a region specific thing?

1st one had nothing to do with the uk Panettone is from Italy for a start
Yule logs we learned about in French class I’d love to try one! 😋😋😋
I want to try the second one it looks and sounds so good!
Guys.... panettone, yule log and hot chocolate is not a traditional UK holiday meal. I don't know a single person who eats that combination for Christmas, I'm sure it's done by a minority but it's not traditional at all, it's more French/Swiss. You should have done mince pies or Christmas pudding which would have actually been accurate!
I know right an actual meal could be pigs in blankets or mince poes
Telloth Films I guessed Swiss too before the options came up. Wtf. I’m British and we don’t eat pannetonne lmao we eat cheap supermarket Yule log and pick the chocolate off, but what, no. It’s so inaccurate xD
Exactly I was like it cant be the UK
That is really true.
