I love how Joseph was like “idgaf he’s my grandpa imma talk abt it” I adore him 🤣🤣
That was pretty cool. An interesting insight and nice that he didn't gloss over it.
Hollywood was and still is full of communists.
The difference between what a person wants and what a handler thinks they want, personified right here.
People always said he really likes history and yeah this really shows that XD
Why do his staff think it’s an off limit subject then? That part was weird for me.
Masterclass at interviewing famous people. This is the way to do it imho.
Graham Norton esq. Relaxed open conversation. Spot on
I'm surprised how they are so good at it.
@@darrylmeredith2534And giving them drinks and cocktails helps too😊
"well i am bringing it up" joseph gordon levitt is great
I always liked him, from little boy to grown man. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders.
@@paanne1013 I agree 100%! Super guy! I love the smooth, super cool Kevin Bacon as well!
What a legend. It really is important to talk about these things, and it's admirable that Joseph was willing to bring it up. They cut it out of the video but if it wasn't clear from the conversation, Michael Gordon was blacklisted from Hollywood because he was a member of the Communist Party.
He actually doesn’t look like a teenager anymore. 😂
@@kathleenlindquist4799 He looks to finally be hitting his late 20s 😂
Ollie is so good at breaking the ice in a lighthearted yet daring to be funny way! "Do they recoil when they hear ur surname?" hahaha! He knows how to walk the fine line between bold and lighthearted so that it's funny and gets the walls down!
That was absolutely brilliant - you saw Kevin give a genuine chuckle at that one.
Ollie is a comedic genius.
Im genuinely confused and proud of where Jolly is at right now ahhaha
It's like a throwback to their earlier Korean Englishman days. Lots of celebrity interviews
😂 lol I was like wait this is jolly not Korean Englishman. Also where’s the Korean food? But I love it. Their celeb interviews on Korean Englishman were such fun.
My best guess is that they offered Korean food but the guests wanted in and out and luckily they had the channel for the non Korean content lol
@@TheMusiclover0101ah finally you’ve helped me make sense of the need for two channels. It’s so simple but now I understand that jolly exists for the non Korean contents.
@@Stinglikeabee625Jolly is also frontmanned by Ollie, Korean Englishman for Josh. It’s like their alternative vlog that doesn’t need much production budget and more freedom for Ollie’s creative mind and their content.
I love how Kevin is just happy to talk about pigs. Not a big fan of celebrity interviews but this is very sweet and normal. Nice job, guys.
I wish that he was consistent and would stop eating all meat though… all it took for him to stop eating pigs is to invite a couple into his family. If he did that with cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, etc, he wouldn’t want to eat them either.
@@one-eyepadidally8449 I respect that POV.
Most celebrities are normal people. Most interviewers lack the skill to bring that out of them. The Jolly guys' charm is just too earnest and sincere to resist not opening up!😂
@@one-eyepadidally8449lol invite the entire zoo you mean? Vegans can be quite cuckoo
'Do they recoil when they hear your surname?' 😂😂😂
😂😅. He almost choked 🤣 on his burger 🍔 🤣
Your comment was showing in the bar before I saw that part and I thought maybe they were going to talk about vegans, but either situation was hilarious 😆
Wouldn’t bacon be the pigs’ last name?
@@dominitrov diabolical👹
Maybe we are all just overthinking it. Maybe the pigs love bacon? Would you blame them?
These guys brought food, shakes and thoughtful presents. How sweet
Ollie’s magical genie mind came up with the best gifts!!!! That’s god tier gifting talent.
Was about to say!
I’m glad somebody said it, those gifts were incredibly well thought through!
For a moment there I thought I was watching a Nardwuar interview.
I thought iw was really cool how they were vibing light that. And it brought up something so interesting to me.
They really did their homework and came up with really rare and special gifts that would have personal meaning. That's a talent.
I went to school with Kevin Bacon’s son and he was the most down to earth and kind person. Kevin did an amazing job raising him and he was such a great person to meet and Kevin and Kyra should be so proud.
What year did you guys graduate high school (so I can get an idea of how old their son is)?
Kevin saying he doesn't eat bacon anymore because of his two pet pigs is precious. What a lovely man.
but he still eats cows. it's just a form of speciesism.
@@Blurgggshut up lol
@@Blurggghe doesn't own a cow. Are you going to get him one?
@@natebaxter9551You don`t need to own someone in order to empathize with them and be kind to them.
@@natebaxter9551 so he only doesn't eat the pets he happens to have? sounds completely logical.
I love how engaged JGL is for the discussion while also very quietly putting that Double Double and milk shake DOWN! 😆
lol. I was watching him eat nonstop through the interview. And I thought good for you dude
Something about socal and jack in a box after school that go hand in hand
He loved that shake for sure
@latinoheat7390 NorCal too.
I had a glimpse of this interviews, it looked like short, but they were seating there minimum 4 hours, i cant even focus on class for an hour. so those big bites from the burger says a lot haha
How is Ollie so consistently the goat of interviewing
It's a great combo of he really does his homework, asks unusual questions as a result that shows it so he gets legitimate engagement than "tell me about the film" for the 20th time on a press junket and of course they're very personable to converse with.
I wonder how hard it would be if they just did interviews to keep up that level of background research.
And thinking about thoughtful gifts ❤
he does his research and he's also really good at asking unique questions. I watched this and mythical kitchens last meal with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and I feel like Ollie and Josh Scherrer are two of my favorite interviewers
Goat of acting like he's presenting for CBeebies.
Better interview than "professionals" who ask the same contrived questions and you can see the actors roll their eyes at having to answer them over & over, having to regurgitate the same answers. Well done!
This is HOW you interview talent already well-known…get to know them on a different level and treat them with honest respect and humanity…not like some side show only for our entertainment. Hope these two great guys enjoyed your interview style. I know I did. Thank you.
Or interrupting and making it about you like horrible, phony Jimmy Fallon does.
It felt way better than surface level
@@ferretociousi think you’re mixing him with jimmy kimmel? Fallon is one the kindest hosts, kimmel is the one who makes it about him all the time
Every word, so well said. That is exactly what was running through my mind. And the thoughtful gifts, absolutely admirable!
@ferretocious wrong Jimmy. That Kimmel That does that
I love this. They're having a conversation over burgers and shake and it seems honestly genuine. And the fact that they're actually eating the damn foods!
It must be so refreshing to have an interview like this when you're doing a whole day of press interviews.
Right? Kevin and JGL looked so tired at the beginning, and they seemed relaxed and refreshed by the end.
@@T.Florenzthey were certainly warming up to jolly after the thoughtful gifts and Ollie’s jokes ❤
I bet those are the best gifts any fan/interviewer ever brought them. If I were them I’d start crying
It’s crazy how much thought and effort you put into the gifts.
Have you seen some of the gifts Ollie gets Josh? He's a gift giving master.
Agreed. I love the Jolly guys 😊
Bro gordon absolutely smashed that double double 😂
Jolly is now press junket material. These guys are so much better than other social media interviewers and even most journalists because they are just so genuine 😊❤
Right? I remember back in the old days when they were nervous before interviewing big celebrities, and now they're naturals!
I really agree. Their gifts were so thoughtful too.
This was genuinely wholesome and those gifts were very heartfelt. The world may be in chaos but these little nuggets give me hope. 🎩
I would imagine that famous people like spending time with them because they're not conventional interviews. It's about enjoying food AND for this, they brought meaningful gifts. Most of all, they do their research and ask not typical questions (like asking for parenting advice!) and I''m sure these famous folx must appreciate it.
It is like Hot Ones without the after effects 😂
Everybody wants to be Nardwuar
@@brechtbanneel2170who wouldn’t want to be nardwuar? He’s a superhuman mind reader with an incredibly toned and muscular body under that shirt of his.
you can literally tell how over it they are when josh and ollie first show up but a couple minutes into talking to them they cheer up a ton
their research is subpar for real. check the other videos and you'll see whoever manages these videos does little to no good research on the videos premises. only thing they get right is anything about the UK which makes sense of course.
2:40 "Do they recoil when they hear your surname?" such an Ollie question
Love that Josh is asking now soome dad advice. I remember when Josh interviewed Taron and Mark , it was Ollie’s first time being a dad. Time flies
I love that JGL housed that double-double like a champ
I love Ollie's Deep Dives in presenting those gifts to Kevin and Joseph. I never knew that JGL's grandfather had been a blacklisted in Hollywood.
Ive been watching Joseph Gordon - Levitt for over 20 years,... One of my favorite shows as a kid was 3rd Rock from the Sun, which is an absolutely underrated, one of the funniest sitcom of all time, which debut in 1996. Damn, that was 28 years ago.
Perfect ensemble cast.
one of the best ever.
it used to be free on Tubi i was so pissed when it left because i hadn't finished my binge watch yet.
At some point Jolly crossed over into "how is this even real" land. I think the Terminator interview did it for me, and Ryan Reynolds was on a boat and Beckham and... just amazing guys.
I love these interviews. They connect in such an authentic and human way, and it's nice to see that for a change. They bring out the humanity in their guests. And the gifts were actually so thoughtful!
I can just picture Ollie furiously searching on eBay for everything
Two iconic actors that to me have always seemed to be gracious and humble, not fussy. I hope it was as enjoyable as the video shown.
According to 6 Degree Law, Kevin Bacon has now met the royal family❤
That's not how that works 😂
@@sage8573 UA-cam I consider short films and I consider Josh and Ollie actors of the reality kind
@@sage8573 If you played 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon game. It's exactly how it works, lol.
@@JJDemonI'm sure he's connected to Markle somehow. So there's that.
@@JJDemon I don't think just meeting someone counts though, does it? I thought you had to work with or live with or have a relationship with them. Josh and Ollie can say they worked with these guys, I guess. But not the royal family. I lived with someone for a while who was in a movie with KB... and though we weren't in a relationship I still count it as 2 degrees lol.
Those gifts were so well thought out and genius!
JGL spacing out while he just eats his burger while Bacon speaks is a total vibe
I love how they manage to ask personal question or advise that bring out the best for both actors, like the advise for dad question, the personal gift, the nice meal, I love this interview
The best interviews are where you feel like you're eavesdropping on a casual conversation between friends. This was a pleasure to watch; you both have such a natural gift for interviewing people.
Amazing, Joseph has been my childhood crush since third rock from the sun ☺️
I am just so smitten by how JGL is just DESTROYING that milkshake through this video. He was genuine when he said this is the ONE fast food item he wanted for this bit. All in all though this was a really great interview. Yall need to do more of these more consistently you guys always kill it with the celebrity interviews. Almost like a grown up Nardwuar.
Love that he brought it up saying it is important to talk about. And speaking about helping the poor. Got respect for him for that. Don’t know much about him but he seems very down to earth. Glad he did that.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the kind of guy who you look up every 10 years to see what he's up to.
Agreed, he’s always up to something interesting
Making Kevin Bacon laugh, on camera, with a mouthful of food. That's when you know, that's when you have the absolute certainty you ARE the funny one. Nicely done, Olly.
Not expecting these guest today. Amazing.
jolly are the guests in this situation. its a press marathon being hosted by a marketing team.
Kevin Bacon is an awesome human being. I was lucky enough to meet him, and be an extra in one of his lesser known films called Telling Lies in America.
They came and filmed at my home in Cleveland, which inconvenienced us at the time, so every night they filmed, he treated everyone to this huge catered buffet dinner.
Nice!
Kevin Bacon seems like a really nice and normal guy. I love how him and Kira have been married so long and have these awesome kids.
Exactly & they're from some of the most artistic/richest families but so normal ;)
@@hiko73
I didn’t know they come from rich families… What are their families known for and accruing their wealth?
Y’all are so cool & down to earth! You can tell that Kevin is at that age where he’s not into the celebrity interviews so much anymore that he’s doing them only if he has to 😂 but a little into the interview you could definitely see him loosen up once he saw this wasn’t going to be THAT at all & it was definitely going to be a more down to earth like easy flowing conversation rather than the same ol same ol interviews he’s been forced to do most of his life. 😂 I really like y’all a lot! Sending love from Southeast Georgia, US! Come back down here sometime & try a home cooked southern meal! Y’all will NOT regret it!
Kevin Bacon is super underrated, Nobody plays the bad guy like Kevin , he makes you hate him .
I totally agree, he makes for such a good good-guy.. but his bad guys are phenomenal.. I think cause he gives you such a strong reason to relate with him, and sympathize with him.. Hollow Man being my favorite... he's just phenomenal when it comes to bad guys.. X-men First Class he's great too.
He is scared already his kid will take drugs because he will especially if being British and seeing it all going downhill especially the majority of the people😂 Eliz made it happen, weaklings
Totally agree 👍
A good actor can make you LOVE him as a good guy and HATE him as a bad guy.
who has ever claimed he was overrated?
I just discovered the JOLLY channel, and this is the first interview I’ve heard you guys do, and I think this is also probably the first interview I’ve heard with either Kevin Bacon or Joseph Gordon Levitt! I don’t really listen to celebrity stuff that much. But this was delightful!
Just enjoying some good old-fashioned American fast food, talking about life, stuff you love… How wholesome! Nice job, guys.
This was the most chill interview I have ever watched. Hey we got some food. What's going on with you guys? Awesome, and it was really good to see they were into just a laid back not canned question session.
You could see them relax as the video went on. Kevin's demeanor at the start was very much "is today over yet"
It definitely looked like food and their approach helped him feel a little more energized as it went. "Aw man, you want to talk about my pigs. Yes, allow me to be proud pig dad."
This was such a cool interview!!! I learned a lot about these gentlemen and I'm glad you got to experience it in person
The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and Bacon's Law just expanded A LOT.
Absolutely
I packed holiday food packages with Kevin last year. He was one fast packer. And the kindest, most down-to-earth human being. What a gem.
Knowing that Joesph's Grandfather was blacklisted and was apart of cinema history hits different as a cinema major knowing about the work artists go throgh within the entertainment industry and cinematography is amazing to know.
Two of the most grounded actors. JGL is related to me but we have not seen each other for many years but even as a young man he was always down to earth, kind, and concerned about others. KB has always been a favourite of mine. Such a great body of work.
we missed these movie promo interviews, I hope we get more in the future!
Not many big movies premiere these days... most went straight to Netflix...
@@PrograError yeah, I hope they could get interviews with the summer movies
@@PrograError Even Netflix movies have press interviews.
I love how much research you guys do for each interview and how thoughtful you guys are
Those were such thoughtful gifts! In a press junket where they answer the same questions over and over, I’m sure this interview stood out.
What a great interview! Just people meeting and sharing and getting to know one another in a wholesome, friendly, and fun way. I think you have a terrific addition to your channel, guys!
I really appreciate the personal element you guys brought to this interview. Not only the gifts but asking them questions that were about them and not just the movie. So enjoyable.
You two are SO gracious with these celebrities! Right on!
I am not sure if it is a sign of the apocalypse or better days ahead. But there are now zero degrees between Kevin Bacon and Ollie.
u mean?
@@lilith_6960 it's a game people play called "6 degrees of Kevin Bacon" where people choose an actor and then connect them to another actor via a film they both appeared in together, repeating the process to try and find the shortest path that leads to Kevin Bacon 😄 It's great craic to play
Wow lucky you guys, two of the most talented, normal , relatable and nice actors ever
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the one childhood crush I will never outgrow, what a great guy
It’s not an interview, it’s 2 friends invited for lunch and just having a fun chat. It’s so charming, from the gifts to the chatter, very well done 👏
I love how Ollie has clearly never received any media training! 😅
I hope he never does. He's such a genuine person 🧡
Oh I bet he has, he just chooses not to use it 😂
why?
Best interview I've seen in a long time. Do more!
Those gifts were so personal, love it.
Your gifts are the most thought out gifts I've seen in awhile. That was really cool to watch two amazing actors in a genuine nastalgic moment.
Man, another seriously impressive celebrity interview. So personalized and interesting to watch!
One of my Favorite movies is Pillow Talk.. I never connected to Gordon-Levitt. Really Great Interview.. even if Kevi didn't eat anything lol. Joseph went to it.. Loved that
Was hanging in the lounge at JFK years ago and Kevin Bacon came in and just hung out casually, waiting for his flight, and no one bothered him. It was pretty cool to see him up close and in real life. 😊
Of course he did, he’s just a person
I would have asked for a picture 📸
I did not expect these two, but I'm so happy to see this-they seem like such amazing guys! Great interview!
Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon Levitt? HOLY GUACAMOLE! These two legends need to be in the same film together.
They are. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Your wish came true!
they are! thats why theyre together at the moment of the video lol
I guess you missed the part in the video where they were talking about working on the next movie with Eddie Murphy "Beverly Hills Cop" 🤭🤣
Irony?
You guys are good at keeping the conversation going and knowing who you’re talking to have having good talking points, making the vibe comfortable and inviting for something they may be ‘forced’ to do as press for their movie, it was more enjoyable.
This was such a genuine and lovely conversation! The gifts Josh and Ollie gave them were so thoughtful too, my goodness!! JOLLY's preparedness for their content never ceases to amaze me 😍
One of my favorite Jolly videos! Love all these guys!!
How could you forget about 3rd Rock From The Sun?!
One of the best comedies of all time.
I don't know if Josh and Ollie heard of it 🤔
Someone great once said, even if it’s been done a million times, if you’re passionate about it, others will be too. I imagine these two actors have been interviewed hundreds of thousands of times but this was interesting and refreshing, felt like a chat between friends. Good stuff man!
That's some Nardwuar-level research and gift giving for your guests! It's awesome to see how thoughtful you guys are for interviews, and you can see the delight in your guests' responses and demeanor! Well done, Jolly team 👏
I absolutely love Joseph Gordon, Kevin Bacon, and Kyra Sedgwick. I've so enjoyed their movies and TV shows. Excellent actors, all of them
You guys are just the most optimum interviewers ever..like you do the background research that actual journalists often cant be bothered to do! Whenever you interview literally anyone, from a list hollywood actors to fellow youtubers, you can just tell you genuinely care about your guests feeling welcome and seen- it’s lovely to see☺️
I love that those were genuinely kind gifts to give them. Well thought out and just really kind. Well done, lads.
You guys have always been such amazing interviewers!!
I remember seeing josh introducing the with the avengers' cast to korean food and loving your work, before I even knew it was part of a youtube channel and not just some pr team. Only after months of following both your channels did I realise it was you!
Pretty sure they started the trend for the movie junket... before hot ones also did it...
Well guys... I've been following you two for years and I'm never disappointed; either here or your other channel. I admit to being clueless when it comes to the sports icons you've interviewed, but... Kevin Bacon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt... especially Kevin. He is an icon of my teen years and I got to meet him once when he was filming in the town I worked in, some 15 years ago. Always seemed very down to earth and "normal" and rather approachable. Nothing like you'd expect from a major star and cultural icon. And Joseph, I've not seen as much of, but I am a die-hard DC comic fan and I delight at the "Robin that almost was" and that he's such a kind and friendly guy. This definitely reinforced that impression. I got 12 minutes of four of my favorite people in media. Thank you kindly.
I saw Kevin once when I was sitting at a stoplight with my ex and my daughter in Del Mar CA. I was driving my father in laws black 1964 1/2 mustang convertible, as he was walking across the street he looked at us, gave a thumbs up, a wave and a big smile. 👍
The gifts were so personal and well-thought out. I just love these guys.
What thoughtful guys you are. They did really appreciate those gifts.
I love how thoughtful you are with the gifts!
Probably my fav Jolly production. Really showed off your kindness, humor and heartfelt questions. Thank you❤
As somebody who has never seen your channel, this interview was great. The best interviews with actors always feel like conversations and this was just that. 👏
Angels in the Outfield is one of the movies I remember watching , and first seeing Joseph Gordon levitt .
Love that movie
Mine too
First time I saw him was on Roseanne.
This, in my opinion, is one of the best interviews I have ever seen.
I wish more interviews were like this.
I am so thoroughly impressed by those gifts, like the research involved, and tracking them down, amazing.
Those gifts were insanely thoughtful. Also Joseph bringing up what happened to his grandfather was really nice of him. Not everyone who went to a "meeting" during those times was a communist. Just because SOME of the ideas were similar to ideas communism had, does not make one a communist.
Lovely to see just “friends” chatting and so impressed with the thoughtful gifts. We’ll done!
I am astounded again to see what excellent interviewers you both are plus, what thoughtful gifts!
Kevin Bacon doesn't like bacon. Seems legit! Lol
Even better, he doesn't eat it because he loves it.
If he would, it would seem a bit cannibalistic.
He likes bacon just fine. He just loves his pig pets more so he chooses not to eat it.
😂
Time to change his name to Kevin Ribs.
What a great opportunity for you both! You were relaxed, respectful, funny, and listened to what they had to say; instead of looking at your notes for the next question you think you should ask.
As always, Ollie with the excellent research. Well done interview.
I hope this becomes a new segment, cheeky take-out with celebs. Loved it ❤
