Hey Pan. I applied Turtle Wax Graphene to my car and noticed water spots later in the day. I don’t feel any bumps from the water deposits. Is it ok if I go straight to using The Last Coat ClearSR?
@@jcdomingo4809 You cant let car get wet for 24 hours after putting it on. I used on my car and waited the 24 hours and its absolutely amazing stuff provided you follow Pans routine for using it.
@@MercedesMechanic Thanks. I failed to mention that I waited past 24 hours before my truck got some rain on it. I buffed the water stains out with some elbow grease. Very pleased with TW Graphene.
Glad I found you channel. What about spots on a 7 day old P n S ceramic? I just had it corrected and Ceramic coated and 7 days later managed to get hose water all over it and we have really hard water. Do I need to wait?

@@PanTheOrganizer On second thought, I would have to keep my cars extra clean if you're next door so maybe move a couple of houses down from mine so I don't feel so self conscious all the time. j/k Lol Great job as always Pan! Thanks for the reply!
You're an inspration to me. Just this weekend I managed to complete a full detail of my car. I'm a newbie at car detailing. I was a Chemist in my past career and now I own a pressure washing business and have decided to expand into car detailing. With just 3 months experience in detailing I did notice several water spots on a car I detailed today. I am self taught meaning that everything I know about detailing have primarily come from watching your videos. Living in Florida means we have hard water. To reduce that I add a small amount of McKee's N-914 or Absolute to my wash bucket making the water a bit 'softer'. I use McKee's or Absolute as my rinseless wash and lubricant prior to my main wash, which P&S Pearl is my shampoo of choice that has provided great results. I then proceed to rinse car and then apply a wax such as TW Wax & Dry, TW Graphene Flex, TW Seal N Shine allowing me to wax and dry the car at the same time. Then I apply P&S Bead Maker and Dream Maker mix to provide that extra gloss and hydrophobics. (As you can tell I like TW and P&S products but also have Carpro and Gyeon in my arsenal). I would think that this combination would help eliminate water spot formation. Is this the correct order to apply the wax first and then the Bead Maker afterwards or am I doing too many steps and wasting product? I assume applying the wax would provide the gloss and UV protection and the Bead Maker mix the hydrophobics and additional gloss afterwards, thus reducing the chances of water spot removal and making maintenance washes easier. Any advice you can give to a rookie would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the great videos.
Hi James. There's a lot to digest in your text here hehe. I will try my best to give you some guidance. First, you would not use the TW Graphene Flex Wax or ICE Seal N Shine after each wash. Those are durable protectants and you run the risk of streaking and other issues if you use them too often. Once every 4 months or so for Seal N Shine is acceptable, and once every 6 months for Flex Wax. For drying aids when you are done washing your car in weekly washes, use something lighter like the TW Wax & Dry, or the TW Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax, or Bead Maker + Dream Maker mix, or CarPro Elixir or Gyeon Ceramic Detailer, etc. Those are light sprays meant for regular use. Regular washes and use of drying aids really will help prevent accumulation of water spots, but that still won't necessarily be the "be all end all" solution, if you have hard water. The best way to prevent it all together is get a water deionizer setup to add to your water source. A simple DIY setup like I did in this video: ua-cam.com/video/IKNL1chAQXY/v-deo.htmlsi=HaQS_00oZ5dS3ZkN As the water will have ZERO minerals after going through the deionizer, you should have a 100% spot free finish each time. I found that using turtle wax carnauba spray wax works really well against water spots. It has very gentle abrasives and can make the surface pop real good. Just use it with a microfiber applicator pad on a clean vehicle.

@@PanTheOrganizer I was looking for more details on Meguiar's G190526 Hybrid Ceramic Wax, and your channel came up.. They way you explain the products and the correct steps is A+ material. Can you do a video on how to get brake rust off of calipers?
Hey, Pan. Thank you very much for the excellent video. I learned quite a few new tips and tricks. Before watching your video I already dealt with some water spots left on my car using only vinegar and water 50/50 mixture. Worked perfectly . I assume that it really depends how old are the water spots and it could make you to step up the method/product to use. As always great video. Looking to the next one!
Great to hear! And yes you are right, it always depends on how severe the water spot issue is. Hence why I said in the video to start with the less aggressive method first, assess the results and go on from that point.
Another super useful video. Found some water spots on new the ceramic coat and started scrambling. These videos take me out of panic mode pretty quickly. Super informative. Thanks, Pan!!
Another great video. The vinegar can come in many concentrations. At the grocery store, vinegar acidity levels can range from 5%-10%. I actually order 75% solution for dealing with weeds in my garden
I got weird looks from my neighbours because I'm constantly wiping my car whenever it rains to prevent water spots. Gotta say the best protection has got to be putting a roof over the car.
I’ve seen lots of people in Hong Kong start foaming the car when it’s raining. Rain water is very very low on hardness it’s like washing the car with distilled water
Great vid! I needed this bc i left my wifes van out in the driveway the past few weeks and its been getting hammered by our sprinklers. The vinegar and h2o combo worked great on the glass, next onto the paint!

When you say “50-50 water and vinegar”, what type of vinegar are you referring to? Most vinegars are already diluted to 5%, but sometimes 10-15% or above. Are we talking about 2.5% vinegar after the mix?
I think he means using alcohol vinegar ( or white vinegar) and adding the same volume of distilled water to make it a 50/50 dilution. At least I used that to clear water marks at home.

Thanks Ian! Since you subscribed to my channel, let me officially welcome you to the Pan TheOrganizer family! That vinegar is fine to use. You will be diluting it by half, since you put it in a sprayer bottle with half water half vinegar. As I said in the video. How did you discover my channel by the way?
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the welcome. I discovered your channel by wanting to know how to give my car a complete wash and wax, not realising what's required. I was getting sick of those car washing machines and I guess reaching middle age I want to do it myself. The first video I searched for and showed up on search was 'New Turtle Wax ICE Seal N Shine Review. You completely cleaned a Toyota Rav4. I watched it multiple times and then some more of your videos. I was convinced and ordered everything you used from that first video, but not a polisher. I'll do it by hand. My car really needs a complete wash and wax as the water just stays on the body like it's a mobile swimming pool. I got the foam gun adapter for my K5 Karcher so this weekend looking forward to snow bathing my car. Also, this morning I used the 50/50 vinegar/water solution and all the years of water droplets have gone. Brilliant advise. You are the real deal. All
Thank you Pan!! Learn so many things to takecare our own car, waterspot is nightmare, my previous car is badly damaged. Now i know what to do to prevent that happen in my new car.
Wash your car frequently, use a drying aid while towel drying and if possible, have a water deionizer setup hooked up to your hose bib. Watch my video here: ua-cam.com/video/IKNL1chAQXY/v-deo.html
Or perhaps you will be handing out tiny bottles of detail products that are "leftover'" to the Halloweeners. Now, ya know they won't spray it in their mouth or anything.
Living in northeast Florida we have terribly hard water (over 400 tds). The water softener works, but doesn't lower the tds and thus water stains are left behind. I bought a deionizer and although I hate buying the resin, you cant argue at a spotless rinse !
Finally a detailed video on this! On another note, I used the water spot remover from P&S and it did a great job. It is an acid though (says clearly on the bottle) so maybe that might or might not be a deal breaker for any of you. Honestly though, if you just follow the directions and use common sense, you will be just fine and get great results.
There are filters out there that contain a special resin that completely remove all minerals from the water. I bought one 12 months ago off ebay for $110.00 Australian dollars and can rinse my black car in the hot sun and have zero water spotting issues! I use a fine cleanable sediment filter prior to the resin filter to prolong the life of the filter. Absolutely the best investment ever for car washing. The actual cartridges can be refilled with fresh resin, which you can buy in bulk, once you start to notice any return of water spots. I think the window cleaning people were on to this system quite a while back. Hope this helps everyone with this annoying problem!
I have a RO water filtration system in the kitchen. I fill a bucket from there (2-3 gallons), and I dump that water onto the car as the last step of the car wash. It is not perfect, I still have water spots, so I need these tricks from the video. But it makes these a lot easier.
Hell yeah! :). I like the sound of that!! Thank you for your support Eddie! If you had to pick just one, what's your favourite video on my channel so far?

I have a ceramic coating on my car and other than driving it stays covered up. What I have been using and it works extremely well is Turtle wax 3-1 ceramic detailer. I am constantly touching up the paint almost daily. I don't let water sit on the car for more than a day before I do a quick detail.
Been watching the channel for a number of years just because I find them really interesting and you Pan have a great way to explain everything I now started detailing for almost and year and it’s always great to watch another episode 😀😅
Pan, in the Gulf Coast area of Texas, just parking to go shopping this time of the year (September), there are early afternoon showers/rain/thunderstorms with temperatures of 85F (29.4C). The precipitation can last only 10 minutes and by the time I get back to the car, a lot of the water has already dried. Even though water spots are an enemy of ceramic coatings, I can’t wait to ceramic coat my vehicle. Hopefully, a short drive on the freeway might get more of the water off the car. For water spots on glass, I’ve used a scouring / cleaning powder from the kitchen called “Barkeepers Friend”. I learned about this from a window washer forum when I decided to clean the windows on my parents’ house. The Barkeepers Friend has some oxalis acid that helps with removing the etched in water stains. That would be an option for water spots on glass in addition to the vinegar & distilled water wash and doesn’t have the annoying acetic acid vinegar odor.
Thank you thank you! I’m a newbie at detailing my car. Not that I’ve never washed a car just never did it correctly. Used to wash it and direct sunlight and have water spots. It’s newer car so trying to do this correctly. Thank you for breaking down the water spots and had to prevent them.

Pan, great video. I live in a very dry (low humidity) area, and water spots are enough to drive one crazy. Tried the TW Ice Quick Detailer as a drying aid and wow did that work after taking a leaf blower to the car to clear the most of the water off the surface. Keeping in mind that the TW Ice Shine and Seal AND Ice Spray wax is already on the car so the surface is in primo condition and sheets water very well. I think I just found my new wash method without any streaking or hassles AND without putting too much wax on an already waxed surface since I wash the car weekly. Thanks Pan! Keep the tips and tricks coming! Wish I had a Pan emoticon for "keep it tight, keep it clean" for you buddy!
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan, I like the annual product awards videos and the way you lay it out by category and include various levels of detailing ($). Also, the detailing tips and tricks video is very very handy. But the most useful video for me personally was the best polishing, compounds and pads. That really helped in correcting my paint before protecting it.
For relatively fresh spots left after washing I use my Optimum No Rinse solution to soak for a few minutes, then wipe off with a waffle drying towel - works pretty much everytime (unless it's too warm, then it's game over until the temperature cools!!).
Thank you for this video! I recently got hard water spots on my car and reached out to a local detailer who said their process was to first use a clay bar and said that doesn't usually get all the hard water spots out, so then they would use a mineral deposit remover, and lastly if there were still stubborn spots left, they would do a polish. Do you think it's a big deal that they would do the reverse of your steps #1 (mineral deposit remover) and #2 (clay bar)? Can you explain your comment on not using a clay bar if your car has a ceramic coat? I thought using a clay bar is an essential detailing tool for any basic exterior detail? So, if one were to get a ceramic coat applied and get a detail 6 months later, you wouldn't recommend a clay bar as part of that detail? Lastly, if I'm paying for an exterior detail and ceramic coat, do you think it's fair to ask for the ceramic topper as part of the ceramic coating, or would that be considered an add-on service in your opinion?
Hi Pan, I have a is350 with silver paint, and live in Washington, where it rains often. What would be the “strongest” between the three dedicated solutions? Nathan
It always depends how bad the water spots are and how long they were left unattended on the surface and in the baking hot sun. Washing your car often helps prevent water spots from settling. If you do get water spots, here are the latest three methods in order form less to most aggressive: 1) Less aggressive is a mineral removing shampoo like this: bit.ly/3u2KsmZ 2) One level up in aggression is using a water spot remover like this: bit.ly/3vNKFM9 3) Last level if those two other methods fail is machine polishing (paint correction).
Great video! Very much appreciated. Do you have any suggestions for SEVERE glass-etched water spots? I've tried many of the usual methods up to using a polisher & compound on them, only to have the spots remain. They drive me nuts!
Amazing video! I will test it tomorrow. I found 3 water spots today on my spoiler. Tried green star on pre wash step nothing, tried again with different dilution after the iron remover in the end nothing again.
Green Star is an all purpose cleaner. It's not meant to remove minerals from water spots. The same applies to the iron remover. Iron removers are only meant to remove brake dust (iron particles). Not water spots. When water evaporates, it leaves behind minerals. Those minerals are acidic and can start etching through the clear coat if left unattended, especially in the baking hot sun. The best remedy is to wash the car more often. And use a water deionizer setup if you can. That has ZERO minerals in it, so you could even let the car air dry, and you would never get water spots. The next step up is to use a water spot remover. Ones like DIY Detail Water Sport Remover, CarPro Spotless 2.0 Gyeon Water Spot Remover, etc. Pretty much all big coating brands have them. You would wash your car first, then use the water spot remover. Always use on a clean surface. Then thoroughly rinse, and I would wash the car again to neutralize any left over residue. If that still doesn't work, it means the water spots have started etching deeper and you would need to machine polish the surface at that point. Some times, the water spotting is so severe that you also need water sanding steps. And then machine polishing.
Hi Pan, I have a car in my shop that has very bad water spots, managed to get most of it off using the vinegar mix and I also used the CarPro spotless but there is some really ugly water marks inside the door jams that I can't seem to get off, I've tried spotless with a detailing brush and rinsing it with steam, as it is hard to reach with a cloth but the marks are still not going away.
My Mercedes S550 has side mirrors which actually create a dimming effect of headlights behind me at night. Because of this mirror technology and the fact they are on the top model by Mercedes, I'm afraid to attempt removing the water spots that showed up a couple months ago on them. Have you any recommendations or have you made a video about this yet?
Thanks for your videos and comments I just bought a rupes 15 mark 3 and love it I also bought MTM Hydro magnum 28 kit. what electric power washer you recommend, power psi and gpm need for best results love your videos
Pan TheOrganizer which electric power washer you recommend and how many PSI and GPM should it be to use with foam gun ( MTM 22-2 bottle and SGS 28 Gun )
I have water spots on my car that has clearly etched into the clearcoat, because using Gyeon Water did not really do much to remove it. Which means that I have to probably resort to cutting and polishing with a machine. If so, what compound and pad do you recommend to use for removing hard water spots? Is one step enough, or is two steps required? Wool/Microfiber/Foam?? And what type of car shampoo do I have to use beforehand? I currently have Adam's Graphene Shampoo but I'm looking for other recommendations. Your knowledge is invaluable. Thank you!
Gotta say your timing for this video could not be better; I was going to see if you had something on this topic today and voila! Thanx for your timely and relevant content!
You are so welcome! Yeah one has to resist the urge of washing a car when it's too hot and sunny outside. That's actually the worse time to do so. Always work in the garage, or at least in the shade on a cool surface, ideally at the very beginning of the day, or very late in the afternoon/evening. Avoid noon as much as possible as that's when the hot is at its hottest/brightest.

Great Video. I used Turtle Wax Seal N Shine and ever since I have spotting on my glass that I cannot get off. I have tried the Vinegar/Water solution and have gone as far as using BarKeepers Friend on the glass with no luck. You can see this spotting when you look deep at the glass in the light. It looks terrible. Do you think it is residue from the Seal N Shine? Do I need to get some glass polish to remove it? What do you recommend?
i have a 2019 camaro... i bought it a few months ago and the paint is great. but the two side windows look good, but once they get wet u see vertical streaks all down the windows. i have tried to get some light polish and work it in with a microfiber, and i have even tried a clay bar and they aren’t budging. any thoughts? seem like pretty hard water spots
What's up Pan, coming to you from Chicago. I park my cars out side my new car is never park under any trees so nothing above it. It has a turtle wax ice wax spary on it now and other types of waxs before that brand. Happens with whatever brand I use. When it rains the water beads up beautifully. But it just sits there and doesn't all slide off when the rain stops. This is when parked. So the beads will dry and then I have water spots. What should I do? Should I dry it with a quick detailer and microfiber, should I use a car squeegee, not like the ones for the window but for the body with soft silicone, and push the water off? And how do you feel about the body squeegee? Or am I just doing something wrong that can help the water slide off after the rain with me not having to do anything ? Thank you love your hard work🤙
Love your channel. I just picked up a used Subaru. Somebody put a ceramic coating over some bad water spots on the hood. What's the best way to remove that ceramic coating so I can address the water spots. Thanks
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but if it's fresh waterspots I just get a microfiber towel damp using my RO water and wipe the spots off the next time I go to drive somewhere. Usually works unless they have been on the car for several days.
@@excaliber2010 Aaron is right. It functionally works by using the water pressure from the line to push water through a thin plastic-like membrane that is supposed to physically filter out things like salt, iron/rust, calcium and other minerals. Since there are almost no dissolved particles in the water you dont get water spots when it dries. That's how a lot of "spot free rinses" work to my understanding.
Hi Pan! Thank you for the video. Today I had a client's car with this issue, I used 3 different produts and no luck, I even polished the surface with 3D ONE and didn't removed them. It is a classic black vehicle, I will try the Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener to see if it works on me.
Polishing is more aggressive than Wheel Brightener. So if polishing didn't do the trick, you either have to use a more aggressive compound and pad combination, or you're at the point of water sanding, and if that still doesn't work, it means the water spots did permanent etching damage and the only solution at that point will be a full panel respray.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thank you so much for the quick response Pan. I did use the 3D ONE as well as the 3M purple bottle compound. Water marks look very old and left heavy stains all over, I suggested the client the wet sand and buff. Thank you again for your support 🙏

Pan, I love your videos and I’m a fan. Here is my question and a little background. I live in Michigan and I don’t have access to wash my car in the winter at home. I have a dark blue and black vehicle and during the summer I can easily keep up on my vehicles. But, in the winter I tend to just go to the coin car wash and spray it off…really not washing it. And when the temps outside are very cold, it makes it impossible to wipe it off when I’ve only sprayed it and not washed it. I’ve been wanting to get Avalon King ceramic coat but my concern are the temps in my garage. I’ve got a great space to work but my concern is getting the vehicle “washed clean” before I apply the coating. Do you have any tips for me at all? I can set up a few heaters to warm up the garage but it’s the “getting clean” that I’m concerned with. I look forward to hearing from you. Thx so much and keep up the great work. It’s weird too that I bring my battery powered leaf blower to the coin wash to pressure wash my vehicle and attempt to dry it off. Thx again.

Can I top off Adams Graphene coating with Gliss?

Perfect!! A very thorough video for an increasingly common problem for some folks. Great vid pan! 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it!
A simple DIY setup like I did in this video: ua-cam.com/video/IKNL1chAQXY/v-deo.htmlsi=HaQS_00oZ5dS3ZkN
As the water will have ZERO minerals after going through the deionizer, you should have a 100% spot free finish each time.

When you say “50-50 water and vinegar”, what type of vinegar are you referring to? Most vinegars are already diluted to 5%, but sometimes 10-15% or above. Are we talking about 2.5% vinegar after the mix?
vinegar essence.....
I think he means using alcohol vinegar ( or white vinegar) and adding the same volume of distilled water to make it a 50/50 dilution. At least I used that to clear water marks at home.
Always white vinegar for detailing
You can start with plain white 5% distilled white vinegar you have for cooking.
Apparently for glass, Bar Keepers Friend on a rag, followed up with some polishing or 0000 steel wool scrubbing will clean it up for really cheap.
Thank you for the tips!!
Can you use these products on a matte surface tho?

When you see that PAAAN uploaded and accidentally click on the french one 🥴 Je ne comprends pas
LOL
Thanks Pan, always great to watch your video on Saturday morning, now outside to clean my wife’s vehicle.
Right on!
Another GREAT auto detailing video! Super clear and thorough!! Thanks so much for posting!!!

Been watching the channel for a number of years just because I find them really interesting and you Pan have a great way to explain everything I now started detailing for almost and year and it’s always great to watch another episode 😀😅
Thanks Luis! I wish you lots of success with your business!
Very good video and very useful tips.

Thanx for the video, will help lot of people including me 👍👍
Thank you for this video!
Hi Pan,
I have a is350 with silver paint, and live in Washington, where it rains often. What would be the “strongest” between the three dedicated solutions?
Nathan
It always depends how bad the water spots are and how long they were left unattended on the surface and in the baking hot sun. Washing your car often helps prevent water spots from settling. If you do get water spots, here are the latest three methods in order form less to most aggressive:
1) Less aggressive is a mineral removing shampoo like this: bit.ly/3u2KsmZ
2) One level up in aggression is using a water spot remover like this: bit.ly/3vNKFM9
3) Last level if those two other methods fail is machine polishing (paint correction).
Great video! Very much appreciated.
Do you have any suggestions for SEVERE glass-etched water spots? I've tried many of the usual methods up to using a polisher & compound on them, only to have the spots remain. They drive me nuts!
Cerium oxide glass polishing compound
Thank you Pan for your tips. I will try them tomorrow!
Hey Pan! Awesome video. I have used the 3D gel water spot remover and most recent the Koch Chemie finishing spray which works amazing as well
My Mercedes S550 has side mirrors which actually create a dimming effect of headlights behind me at night.
Thanks Pat!
Thank you!
This video is very helpful
Thanks Belinda! It was a question that was coming up quite often from my viewers, so I decided to do a tutorial.
Hi, Pan! which product would you recommend, Carpro spotless 2.0 or Gyeon waterspot? and Thanks for the tutorial!
They are both pretty equal. Pick the one that's less expensive for you.
@@PanTheOrganizer is it safe to be used on a ceramic coated car?
Yes, they are designed by coating manufacturers for use on coated cars. But be sure to follow the instructions for the product you are buying.
@@PanTheOrganizer thank you 🤝
Nice! The answer to my question to last video! Thanks!
You bet!
Gotta say your timing for this video could not be better; I was going to see if you had something on this topic today and voila! Thanx for your timely and relevant content!
Glad it was helpful!
Good timing, I just got a new 2020 RAM 1500, I see several water spots on glasses, probably from sitting in dealer parking lot.
Great Video Pan! where is live it's hard not to wash your car when it's sunny. So these are some really good tips. Thank you!
Another Awesome video. Can you make a video on how to care and remove light swirl marks from xpel clear bras?
Good job, Mr. Pan The Organizer!
Thanks Shanna! How did you discover my channel?

Hi Pan!!! Amazing video!!! Great Job!!! Your show is the best
Thank you so much 😀
Which product is nest if you have ceramic coating on the vehicle. I am happy I watched the video as I would have used a clay bar
Lol. Sometimes I don’t even watch the videos. I just like, comment and share to show my support for Pan and all he does.
That's kind of you.
I use the meguiar's wheel brightner at my job
Thanks for all the great content you creat!
Thanks Paulo! What’s your favourite video on my channel so far?
i have a 2019 camaro... i bought it a few months ago and the paint is great. but the two side windows look good, but once they get wet u see vertical streaks all down the windows. i have tried to get some light polish and work it in with a microfiber, and i have even tried a clay bar and they aren’t budging. any thoughts? seem like pretty hard water spots
Use polish with polisher and it should come out
What's up Pan, coming to you from Chicago.
Thanks
Machine polishing is the only way to properly and fully remove a ceramic coating. So compound, polish, etc.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but if it's fresh waterspots I just get a microfiber towel damp using my RO water and wipe the spots off the next time I go to drive somewhere. Usually works unless they have been on the car for several days.
What’s RO water?
excaliber2010 reverse osmosis. It basically purified water that doesn’t have ions and bigger particles floating around in it
@@excaliber2010 Aaron is right.
Great video. How do I know what coating my truck has. 2021 ram 1500. Thx
Excelente video amigo! Can we talk about the pH of shampoos? Gracias!! ✨
Thanks Andrés!
Knowledge is power....very informative video Pan. Keep it going & thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the feedback!
My pleasure. Hey, what's your favourite video on my channel by the way?
@@PanTheOrganizer Honesty, I like all of them but 1 of my favorite is the Detailing 101- paint polishing, also the ceramic coating application, the Best compounds, polishes and pads as well. Keep up the good work Pan 👏
@PanTheOrganizer What's your favorite light for ceramic coating and paint correction?
Pan,
I love your videos and I’m a fan. Thx again.
