My psp games on vita, all grand theft auto's (they have upscale games and dual analog support), midnight club dub remix (hands down best racing game on psp), all dragon ball z games, all silent hills, all god of wars, Dantes inferno, all burnouts, obscure, all ys games, soul calibur, motorstorm, the third birthday, and grand turismo. Also have ps1 parasite eve 1 and 2 (prequels to 3rd birthday), legend of mana (my favorite ps1 jrpg), resident evil 12 and 3 and castlevainia sotn. Also psp mini monopoly:)
Daxter, Killzone Liberation, GTA LCS/VCS/CTW, God of War, WipEout, Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, Tomb Raider, Motorstorm, Test Drive Unlimited, Silent Hill, etc The PSP had nearly all of the big franchises of the time as well as unique and quirky games such as LocoRoco, Patapon, Mercury, Lumines, Pursuit Force, etc. A personal guilty pleasure of mine is Thrillville off the Rails, a theme park sim with dozens of fun minigames. No portable since the PSP has ever really come close to this type of library, not even the Switch. Can you even imagine getting a great GTA or God of War game made exclusively for a portable console today? Don't think so.
My favourite psp games are tekken 5, castlevania dracula chronicles, persona 3 portable, tactics ogre (although reborn is now available), final fantasy tactics war of the lions. Also Generation of chaos games look interesting and are always on discount on the psn store
Some picks I haven't seen a lot of people talk about. Split second velocity which is the full console version ported down for the PSP and Kurohyou 1 and 2 which is a spin-off of the Yakuza games for the PSP. The Kurohyou games have been fan-translated where Kurohyou 2 has been completely translated except 1 of the side activity while Kurohyou 1's main story has been translated and a group of fans are working on it's complete translation. They're really good and underrated.
Weird. You read my mind! All morning I've been going over PSP titles that kick-ass on Vita, especially with re-mapping controls. Ape Escape, Medal of Honor, WSOP 08, Kingdom Hearts to name some
Good video! As always James! Thanks! for showing some love for the PSP! I really like that system and still play mine! I always liked the Need For Speed games on the PSP and the Madden Football games too! I don't know, if they can be played on the PS Vita or not! I was always upset that there was only one version of Madden 2013 for the PS Vita and no more!
Any time! The PSP really does deserve more love, I know it is popular in the hacking community much like in the way the PSVita has become, but it still has a very solid official library as well. Truly ahead of its time!
I didn't spot MHF in the Vita store, per se. I did get the enhanced version, MHF Unite. I already have the original disc, but the added controls on the Vita port makes all the difference.
When i first got my vita i used to use both my vita and psp for different games ( Umd only release titles). After it was modded and i got adreniline my psp finally got moved to a display case. I've been watching your content for awhile now and enjoy it very much. I'm glad your branching out doing some Psp stuff:) Whole ton of great games to expose the masses to. Take care and you are appreciated.
Good list to get people started! The PSP titles I would recommend are any of its excellent fighting game compilations (ex. "Samurai Showdown Collection", "PowerStone Collection", "Darkstalkers: Chaos Tower", etc.) and "Fate: Extra", which is an anime-flavored JRPG with a unique battle mechanic and a fantastic story and soundtrack.
Liked. Commented. Subscribed. For the algorithm! I didn't realize how many PSP games I still play. Megaman Powered Up, the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games, and some Final Fantasy IV complete are still mainstays in my games.
Crisis core works very well on psp glad got remaster to ps5 same scenes from psp but the new voice actors talking don’t sync with the scenes some people complain of but doesn’t bother me
Off the top of my head I would recommend a PSP title called Deadhead Fred, kind of similar to it in a way. I believe it's on the PS Vita store as well. Depending on your region.
Final Fantasy Tactics: Wotl, Ys Seven, Metal Gear Solid: PW, Dissidia FF, GTA titles, so many great PSP games to be played on Vita. There's even a way to play online with CFW, although my Vita always crashes when I try.
My cracked PSP can play all three games. On PSP I also can play all Gameboy games by emulators. They work fine. It is also possible with SNES and Sega Mega Drive. I think maybe the same thing is with PS Vita? It opens up for a whole lot of games. I have not cracked my PS Vita.
Mortal Kombat Unchained is my favorite psp game on the Vita forsure. I’ve put countless hours into it. Getting baked and playing it in bed made me feel like a greedy American.
The vita mortal kombat is better than the psp one, also we have tekken 6 psp on the vita which was ahead of its time, and we have street fighter x tekken. Just amazing fighting games 🔥
@PSVita at 2am it wasn't a Silent Hill 2 level masterpiece, but playing it in the dark did provide a chill. I am still hoping for a port on my beloved Vita as they did with Dead Space, its entirely possible.
Dead Head Fred would be one of my number 1's. Gun: Showdown is another good suggestion (both titles having recognizable actors in the voice cast). Metal Gear: Peace Walker is my favorite Metal Gear title and I spent countless hours playing Pirates.
I know it's been over a month but another psp game I play on my vita is Rocky unfortunately it wasn't on the PlayStation store its a boxing game based off the movie franchise of the same name it's an alright game hard to to control but when I get good at the game it's fun
I've been playing PSP games on my android emulator with a PS4 controller. It's nice but doesn't feel as good as the psp/vita form factor. I found a really good deal on a vita and I think it's time for me to rebuy my vita after the mistake of selling it a few years ago. I remember psp games feeling really good to play and also I'm wanting to get into the niche RPGs the vita has. Also I can play some of the games I miss now like the Hatsune Miku games.
So sad PSP Monster Hunter game killed the online multi-player PS2 Resident Evil game (Resident Evil Outbreak) other than the emulation of the Japanese version of the game. But at least Monster Hunter on PSP then later on the PSVITA.
@@PSVitaat2am Yeah, it isn't well known because it is pointed out in the book "Itchy Tasty" by one of the developers that developed Resident Evil games back in the day along with reasons it can't be ported, remastered, or remaked with the online features.
Insert "hate" comment about not liking the UMD drive. The PSP was the first, and the one and only ever handheld to feature optical based media. The PSP is awesome and in no small part, the UMD drive is part of that if only from a technology point of view. The PSP is quite literally a PSX 1.5 in handheld form. Sony may not have played that card right back then but even today, the UMD makes the PSP and it's games and movies highly collectable.
I respect your opinion there on that! I understand that the PSP umd's were truly ahead of their time, and I certainly would never want to take that away from it. They just weren't particularly for me is all, but boy was the PSP's library truly rich!
MGS Peace Walker is the ultimate Monster Hunter clone. Its Monster Hunter for normal people. You still have the process of killing a monster (holding up a guard in MGS) carving it for parts (patting the guard down for items in MGS) and boss battles, that you can just kill the boss or "catch" it like in MH . MGS Peace Walker is easily the best MH clone.
You’re telling me you didn’t love super small discs that’s were super easy to Scratch and even easier to lose!? Who woulda though 😂🎉Great Video though Thank you!
Obviously, the PSP got the best Ridge Racer. Most people probably going to GTA. Metal Gear. Gran Turismo. PSP had a real good port of the Warriors. Def Jam the Fight for NY.
Shout out to phantasy star.1&2 on the psp. I bought the vita in high expectations that it would.come, but never did in the US. So, I wittled away time on Totori, persona 4, and disgae.
for some reason i don't often hear about twisted metal head on reviewers' list. was it hated? 2 valkyria chronicles were also in psp. a good introduction before playing the one on vita. the gameplay is different though. and the most hated valhalla knights. loved that game.
I still play to Super Robot Taisen Z2, I wish Bandai Namco would stop fighting with whoever has the rights of the Macross franchise and remaster the Z series (or at least the Z2 games)...
hey, i actually saw you on my recommended, and not 2 days later. also freedom? FREEDOM?! nononono, the only psp monster hunter game (not stuck in japan) you should of mentioned is monster hunter freedom unite. aka MHFU aka the only psp monster hunter (not stuck in japan) worth playing, or even speed running
Thanks for confirming Geo! Hahaha! I was actually thinking about mentioning that game at first, but I wanted to start with the original monster Hunter game on the PSP and save that one for a later topic.
Taiko no Tatsujin V has Linked Horizon and Digital Horizon as part of its OST. It's a tough game I still need to finish getting the platinum trophy for. Gurumin for the PSP isn't too bad on the PS Vita. Dual analog sticks help controls be less clunky than playing with the PSP.
Cartridges are way better for handheld Consoles. I don't know why Sony made PSP with UMD. It was too bulky and complicated and battery life wasn't good because of the spinning disk and laser.
Yes I have a copy of that, reminds me so much of the Hatsune Miku games. A very solid Japanese import that can be enjoyed without knowing the language. 🤩
I always hated the 2.5D versions of MK, regardless of the platform. They just never seemed to get the controls and movement right imho. Not as right as Tekken anyway. I love how they returned to the sidescrolling gameplay with spectacular graphics lately, so I'll take the Vita-native MK 9 over MK unchained any time. The PSP games I like most on the Vita are Crisis Core (of course), both GOWs and Dante's Inferno. I just wished GEPatch would work a little better and on more games (e.g. 3rd Birthday ... it looks so great, but half the screen is covered by an ugly UI texture glitch, and the cutscenes are distorted beyond modern art). Maybe that project will be picked up again at some point? Now, that would in one go add literally hundreds of spectacular games to the Vita's already vastly underestimated library!
You're definitely right about that adding hundreds of games to the library! You got me curious, I'll look into this and see if I can find any new info regarding it. 🤔
@@PSVitaat2am do you think they will implement to the new ps5 or they still will have new ps vita tan since the Nintendo es hop for 3ds and wii are closing next month ps vita still lives!!!!. In May 2023 Xbox old is closing its deal
I really don’t understand why you say Mortal Kombat on Vita is better due to the analog stick, since fighting games are meant to be played with a D-pad (if you don’t have a fight stick of course). And luckily both the PSP and the Ps Vita ones are amazing
You called it brother. I Love the UMDs. Also Love having the physical copies instead of the digital copies. Despite the fact that the digital copies made it more accessible to more game lovers like us.
I have heard that PSP prices have been slowly climbing these days, although I'm unsure if that's a natural occurrence or just artificially inflated by the pandemic. Hmmmm. 🤔
@@PSVitaat2am theres still a lot of psps are available in the market but then again nothing is impossible. the thing is a masterpiece which made the vita possible.
@PSVita at 2am its just not fun to play...i think mk in general was dead between mk4 and mk9...all other mk games in between were too slow and lacking fun..i dont think anyone that had mk9 on ps vita would like to play the psp mk its just way too superior..however tekken on psp was something else...
The story of Lunar has one of the best stories in gaming history...and its a love story to boot. Lets not forget how iconic the theme song is.

Personally I choose Berserk, but you can't go wrong with either in my book!
Gurumin, I'll have to check that game out. 🤔
Not to mention the PSP games can be very pricey physically. I’d go vita download
Very true, it'll save you some cash that's for sure!
Cartridges are way better for handheld Consoles. I don't know why Sony made PSP with UMD. It was too bulky and complicated and battery life wasn't good because of the spinning disk and laser.
Yep I couldn't agree more with you!
Hello I love your channel but I know what import game you will like ia/vt colorful.
Yes I have a copy of that, reminds me so much of the Hatsune Miku games. A very solid Japanese import that can be enjoyed without knowing the language. 🤩
Workaround 🤔 what ever could that mean 😂
I wonder! 😁
Yes james :)

And luckily both the PSP and the Ps Vita ones are amazing
locoroco and playstation all stars
Some great choices
@@PSVitaat2am how do you feel about ps all stars?
Braced and ready
Dun dun DUUUUUUNNN!!!!!
TALES OF WORLD
Solid choice there! 👍
Tekken on psp is amazing however the mk one is terrible..for vita owners i would rather mk9
What didn't you like about MK on the PSP?
@PSVita at 2am its just not fun to play...i think mk in general was dead between mk4 and mk9...all other mk games in between were too slow and lacking fun..i dont think anyone that had mk9 on ps vita would like to play the psp mk its just way too superior..however tekken on psp was something else...
noice
🤩🤩🤩
Peggle enough said.
Not sure I ever played that, I'll have to check it out. 🤔
@@PSVitaat2am It's not a aaa game but it is a stinkin blast.

I've downloaded so many "items" on my PS Vita 😀. Great channel! 👍
Hahaha! Very nice! Welcome to the channel by the way!
