It's a headache if you get any weird hiccups along the way. After a few hours of cursing, I got it to work and now I have the ability to play decades' worth of games. My little jrpg machine just ascended to godhood. The backlog of games I never got to play before are now available on the go. Just be warned that headaches can happen when you start.
Go on offerup, theres like x1000 of every console thats been moded. Bit more pricey though. I'd say do it yourself, takes less than an hour(including time it takes to learn)
funny I topped out my vita w a 128gb card and just recently bought a 256gb one. The retroarch bubbles look amazing I need to get on that. I've been customizing my psp and psx bubbles but I didnt know I could get bubbles for other systems as well thanks for the tip :)
Psp has a great library, i highly recommend Fight Night round 3 (psp) and Def Jam Fight For New York The Takeover (psp). Both are great boredom killers that respect their console counterparts. They are always on my vita

Nice set up! I have a everything modded on my Vita except for the SD2Vita set up. I set it up formatted it and it rebooted all with no issues. When I get to the settings ,storage options , it dosent show where I can enable the YCMA for the SD card ,do you think you could help me? Subbed
You may have mounted the sd2vita incorrectly. Mine is ux0=sd2vita Uma0=proprietary mem card. If that's not it, you may have a faulty sd2vita adapter. They're known to be problem in many cases

I remember watching these type of videos including this feeling so jealous that no one will buy me this or give me permission So fast forward like a week ago I just brought with without telling anyone and got caught while modding it's 8gb memory card lol and it's corrupted I didn't need it anyway so my console has been taken away from me and it sucks but in this time I'm learning from my mistakes and will hack this successfully will update maybe soon edit *11 months later I LITERALLY ran into every problem imaginable, it took me very long and I was stuck in every situation and in every scenario, learnt a lot tho , most of the mistakes were rare but my luck was bad , some mistakes I made then went on Reddit for help and so on , all in all its cool , I love the vita but sadly lost interest in it now . I can't seem to play it for more than 15 minutes so you know what I did , I downgraded it's memory card and gifted it to my little sister who loves it and plays it about everyday .. life goes on man it's only been a year or so of purchase

Awesome, that's the same type of vita I have! Sony doesn't seem to care about the PS Vita anymore, and I don't think I've ever heard about anyone getting banned. You're more likely to lose your games from Sony themselves abandoning the vita store all together 😭 I think any updated guide on Vita hacks should get you rolling in the right direction. I don't know why anyone would want to shell out the money for someone else to mod their Vita. There's step by step instructions everywhere no matter which firmware version you're on and as console mods go it's relatively low risk for someone who doesn't have much experience.
WHY is it that I can't find out plain and simple how to add more games. Like where do I go to get say SNES or other games whether it be free or paid for. I'm kinda figuring out the basics and I pretty have all the programs I need, I just need to find the games. Where did you go to find the games and how did you alter and transfer the files/games?
Most just Google the rom names and download from there. Then just add to whatever emulator you use. Just plug vita into your PC and transfer via vitashell
I advise people just mod it themselves, since there is no hardware moding involved it is an easy process to do. The only real dangerous part is downgrading, if you are downgrading make sure your files are legit and your vita is plugged in to power.

What type of roms are you wanting to add, and how do you plan to emulate them? Essentially yes, you can put a folder on your uX0 (mine is just names Roms) and then place roms in there.

I've been using my main account for years now and haven't heard of any bans happening. I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you're not cheating on online games or something
Debating whether or not I should get a PSVita.. I recently modded my 2DSXL and I wanted to mod more consoles, like my Wii I wouldn't mind having a PSVita to play some PSP games, but there's not much on there that isn't alrdy remastered or ported to other platforms God of War and Uncharted are the only Sony games I'm interested in.. The rest are on PC. But at the same time, the PSvita looks like so much fun to play with

Do you have to over lock for gba in retro arch? I had to bump mine to 400 to get 60fps. Also having retroachievements on slowed down performance for me. How’s Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 with Daedalus? I tried it maybe a year ago but the graphical issues made it unplayable. Is that fixed?
Shouldn't have to overclock for GBA emulation. Have you tried switching to a different core/emulator? As far as pokemon stadium goes, it's still not perfect. It's not "unplayable" but still has many graphical issues. There are much better ways to emulate N64 imo
Using retroarch. MBA crashes anytime I load a rom. Leaving vba-next, with that Pokémon fire red runs at 50-55fps. Have to overclock to 444mhz to run full speed.. if I try to use rewind and achievements it bogs it down more.
Let me ask a question: does anyone else have issues with Homebrew Channel? I cannot for the life of me get that app to work. I’ve had some issues with my modded Vita but eventually i’ve gotten everything to work… except that app. I don’t get what the problem with it is. Is there an alternative to it?
My vita is modded, it has ITLSenso on it but when I turn it on its the regular Sony startup screens, did I do something wrong? I don't have the enso bubble with the black head in it but everything works fine Also no PC required for modding anymore, can even format the micro SD card inside sd2vita right from the vita
That's normal and everything should be fine. It can be modded with enso and not show the bubble or the different icon when launching. The newest way to mod (using the browser) doesn't need the bubble and doesn't change the boot icon.
@@sayianprincevegeta7969 hopefully, also what does autoplugin and autoplugin 2 do and do you know where to find overclock at? I typed it in better homebrew and in dbdownloader with no results
@josephhall7317 If you're going to use Autoplugin you only need Autoplugin 2. They basically have a lot of QoL plugins available there. If you modded your vita using the browser method, I think it comes with the overclocking plugin. I think the key combo is Select+dpad up or down

Have you ever had an issue with your vita freezing at boot? I have modded my vita twice and after a day or two it gets frozen at the Enso symbol and doesn’t go to the Home Screen. I need to then factory reset and remod it.
I have not had this issue. You may try to reset everything and the next time you mod it just use a different firmware version. For example, if you use 3.60 just use 3.65 instead

I would drop back to 3.60, I was on 3.65 enso myself, but for some reason it kept throwing errors when I got plugin happy. Going back to 3.60 enso I have all the same plugins and then more with zero errors. I only have a vita 1000 tho
Not sure about that. I'm on 3.65 and I don't see any reason to go to 3.60 when everything I've ran runs perfectly with no issues and no errors. Name one plugin or port that is a 3.60 exclusive and necessary?
Out of all the games you got on their sword of Mana for the game boy Advance plays great for the first few hours, but there are quite a few places you get to where it plays like crap-

You get to this big town and the music will be stutter as well as there will be a lot of screen tearing and frame rate issues, other than that it runs pretty good and that’s on my OLED Vita 256 GB.. I have an LCD Vita that is a 512 GB that I’m going to try it on and see if it’s better because it’s got extra stuff in it that the red one doesn’t or that the OLED one doesn’t ??

Sure thing! I have many games that I play via retroarch. Once I had those games on my system and could play them I just followed these steps ua-cam.com/video/c32de25Msn0/v-deo.html And I turned them into bubbles for the live area. The psp and ps1 bubbles are made from a program called Adrenaline bubble manager.
I've used my main account for years with no issues, but I suppose there's always a risk. I've never heard of anyone being banned for modding their vita. Only for people who have used cheats and stuff online
I agree that you should definitely get a name brand microSD. The knockoffs can have many issues with cluster allocation, and corruption. It's just not worth losing all your data on your Vita due to saving a couple of dollars imo. Thank you, I appreciate that!
I would avoid the Samsung SD cards because YAMT driver doesn't work on it. You can still use it but you have to use the much slower Storage Manager plug-in.

There's a setting called "show achievement badges" or something like that that has to be on. I'll check on it once I get back home for ya

N64 emulation is actually pretty good on the Vita now EXCEPT for the audio. What i’ve read is that the audio will never get fixed because of… reasons.

You can use save states and I use L+R for all my RetroArch emulated games. So far haven't had any issues with that combo
how much storage do you recommend? i do wanna download a ton of games but not sure if i should go for 256gb or 400gb

I personally haven't had gpu crashes due to a failing system. It's still going strong, but I don't play it excessively

If you're going to be on it a lot, I recommend the 2000.
Again, I've had no issues with mine and I've had it since day 1 launch, but I have seen a lot of ppl haven't been that lucky

Something may have gotten corrupted in the process. Try to re mod it using the browser method

Yeah, my PS Vita has Pokémon on it. But only because it's modded. Mostly just the GBA games

if you have a bulky grip with your psvita, i suggest a case for it, a nintendo switch lite hardcase fits a vita with grip :)

I've been using my main account for years now and haven't heard of any bans happening. I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you're not cheating on online games or something

I recently modded my 2DSXL and I wanted to mod more consoles, like my Wii
I wouldn't mind having a PSVita to play some PSP games, but there's not much on there that isn't alrdy remastered or ported to other platforms
God of War and Uncharted are the only Sony games I'm interested in.. The rest are on PC. But at the same time, the PSvita looks like so much fun to play with

Do you have to over lock for gba in retro arch? I had to bump mine to 400 to get 60fps. Also having retroachievements on slowed down performance for me.
How’s Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 with Daedalus? I tried it maybe a year ago but the graphical issues made it unplayable. Is that fixed?
Shouldn't have to overclock for GBA emulation. Have you tried switching to a different core/emulator?
As far as pokemon stadium goes, it's still not perfect. It's not "unplayable" but still has many graphical issues. There are much better ways to emulate N64 imo
Using retroarch. MBA crashes anytime I load a rom. Leaving vba-next, with that Pokémon fire red runs at 50-55fps. Have to overclock to 444mhz to run full speed.. if I try to use rewind and achievements it bogs it down more.

Pokemon rom hacks are basically fan made pokemon games. Some of them are really really good!

I’ve had some issues with my modded Vita but eventually i’ve gotten everything to work… except that app. I don’t get what the problem with it is. Is there an alternative to it?

My vita is modded, it has ITLSenso on it but when I turn it on its the regular Sony startup screens, did I do something wrong? I don't have the enso bubble with the black head in it but everything works fine
Also no PC required for modding anymore, can even format the micro SD card inside sd2vita right from the vita
That's normal and everything should be fine. It can be modded with enso and not show the bubble or the different icon when launching. The newest way to mod (using the browser) doesn't need the bubble and doesn't change the boot icon.
@@sayianprincevegeta7969 hopefully, also what does autoplugin and autoplugin 2 do and do you know where to find overclock at? I typed it in better homebrew and in dbdownloader with no results
@josephhall7317 If you're going to use Autoplugin you only need Autoplugin 2. They basically have a lot of QoL plugins available there.
If you modded your vita using the browser method, I think it comes with the overclocking plugin. I think the key combo is Select+dpad up or down

Have you ever had an issue with your vita freezing at boot? I have modded my vita twice and after a day or two it gets frozen at the Enso symbol and doesn’t go to the Home Screen. I need to then factory reset and remod it.
I have not had this issue. You may try to reset everything and the next time you mod it just use a different firmware version. For example, if you use 3.60 just use 3.65 instead

The games I've had for a while on an external drive, and the themes are modified versions of what's available on custom themes Manager
I would drop back to 3.60, I was on 3.65 enso myself, but for some reason it kept throwing errors when I got plugin happy. Going back to 3.60 enso I have all the same plugins and then more with zero errors.
I only have a vita 1000 tho

Out of all the games you got on their sword of Mana for the game boy Advance plays great for the first few hours, but there are quite a few places you get to where it plays like crap-
That should be emulator/core specific. If it's playing bad on your core, then just switch cores
@@sayianprincevegeta7969 it ran good for like the first 25 hours and then you get to this town after you’ve been to that haunted mansion or whatever it is? You get to this big town and the music will be stutter as well as there will be a lot of screen tearing and frame rate issues, other than that it runs pretty good and that’s on my OLED Vita 256 GB..
I have an LCD Vita that is a 512 GB that I’m going to try it on and see if it’s better because it’s got extra stuff in it that the red one doesn’t or that the OLED one doesn’t ??
@@sayianprincevegeta7969 unless you’ve played really far into the game, you may or may not have experienced any slowdown with it at all, sword of Mana is the one game I had on my Game Boy Advance SP in 2004 or five or six? I can’t remember? I just know that I absolutely loved that game.

And I turned them into bubbles for the live area.
The psp and ps1 bubbles are made from a program called Adrenaline bubble manager.

Idk about downloading modded games, but if they're Vita games that have trophies, then yes, they'll still have trophies.

I agree that you should definitely get a name brand microSD. The knockoffs can have many issues with cluster allocation, and corruption. It's just not worth losing all your data on your Vita due to saving a couple of dollars imo.

I would avoid the Samsung SD cards because YAMT driver doesn't work on it. You can still use it but you have to use the much slower Storage Manager plug-in.
