Pattern Recognition Receptors

  • We've already introduced pattern-recognition receptors, which recognize PAMPs and DAMPs, but now let's go over the specific types, and how they work. How many Toll-like receptors are there and what do they recognize? What are the adaptor proteins that kick off their signal transduction pathways? What about NOD-like receptors and RIG-I-like helicases? So much to discuss!

I’ve worked on TLR family proteins in my research. This is an accurate and concise introduction, I hope as many researchers watch it. Isn’t this system beautiful? Thanks!

Just one issue, MDA5 senses dsRNA and not dsDNA...

I have a hypothetical question not related to this video. Assume we have a small pressurized container that holds the same amount of air atmosphere on planet earth. If we open this container on earth till empty what will happen to earth air pressure ? Will the atmospheric pressure double or will remain the same and the extra air will escape earth gravity ? Don't know how to handle this hypothetical problem. Hope you could guide me.

I'll get to that eventually! I want to do all kinds of engineering, including electrical engineering first, so that I there is no gap when discussing computer components.

I don't have access to UA-cam studios anymore, where I used to shoot my content, so I can't do what I used to do with a nice camera and green screen. So I do audio only, except for my debunks where I use my webcam.

Gee whiz, I learn stuff about my job by going to UA-cam U. What a society we live in!
    Completely unrelated tangent:
In Sweden, some decade(s?) ago 'damp' was used as some type of slur against people with ADHD. I have bugger-all idea why.
(On a side-note: I get ads from ThermoScientific on this video, and I love it.)

It seems to me that bacterial flagella are more corkscrew-like than whip like. That is, bacterial flagella spiral while eukaryotic flagella whip (if I remember right).
In any case, this is an amazing, fantastic video, and I tremendously appreciate your work!
