Great viewing. As soon as there’s one other yacht in view it’s a race😂 Think those “rocks” to the east of the Eastbourne channel are probably a wreck marked by a buoy? Never seen it above water myself.
It's a race even if they don't know they entered the race. A wins a win 😂💪👌🏼. So it's a wreck and not rocks 🪨. Was the boat made from ferrocement? That way we can not be right 😉. Cant believe it hasn't been moved as it's pretty close to the entrance and not well marked. Glad you enjoyed the episode, plenty more to come and the big crossing. Boat is now in a much better state I think last time we spoke on here I needed all new rigging which is now done and have a new furler as well. But overall much happy now and sailing most weekends. Excellent video, really enjoying watching your adventure, and you pulled into my home marina! Your point about entering the marina is really well made, there are many things to look out for, including a ship wreck just outside the entrance. Don’t be tempted to cut corners, stick to those channel markers for sov harbour, for sure! I agree, Eastbourne itself isn’t that exciting. Sovereign harbour is nice. And honestly one of the best chippies around can be found by the north bridge.
Hi Floyd, what boat have you got? Sovereign Harbour is secretly one of my favourites. It might have something to do with the fact it’s always blowing a hooley on the nose every time I have visited. No better feeling of getting through the lock gates knowing you’re going to get a good night sleep as the flats offer a lot of protect and no swells. I love the Italian and pablos. Haven’t tried the Thai or chippie but I’ll give it a go next time. First time I walked to Eastbourne. Was a beautiful place just a little tired in places. Only walked there to get on the big ferris wheel but it wasn’t there the only year I walked to it 😂 thanks for watching and plenty of good bits to come 👌🏼
I’m on Arcturus, which is one of the tide 28’s. Only 2 were made with a pretty interesting backstory. I really like Sovereign Harbour, very rarely gets crazy busy around there. I mentioned the ship wreck as I asked my son to helm whilst I put out the fenders on approach. Was happily going about my business when I saw the partially submerged mast about 40ft off our bow and we were heading straight for it!!! Never moved so quickly in my life!!! Anyways, all averted lol. Happy sailing, maybe see you around one day 👍

Hi Miles, How could you tell I was from Essex.. 🤣Funny you mentioned BBC, my mate said the same thing, I'm a Planning Manager in construction and have no media background. Just love learning new things and sailing. Just moved to a Mac PC, the editing will get much better now I have a machine that can handle anything I throw at it. Got some cool vids coming up and always do lost of repair and maintenance vids. You local to Essex? Thanks for watching

Was just pleasantly surprised how professional you talk and the edit! Awesome stuff! Genuinely thought I was watching a feature on the one show 😂
