@@richardhall7822 Thanks Richard, things did get a bit lively out there. If there wasn’t so many ports to drop into on this leg, I probably wouldn’t have gone out. If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have made the crossing so I’m glad I pushed on. The boat handles it so well and keel wasn’t even down. Problem is you keep pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone and it will catch me out one day 💪😎
New here, enjoying your vids so far. I sail into the crouch and don’t get the time to travel as far as you but but enjoy my time in the Crouch and over to the Blackwater. Fair winds
@@marcusingram522 Hi Marcus, thank you for leaving such a positive comment. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. You don’t need to travel far to enjoy the water. I need to explore further up the crouch as I have only been to Burnham. We did do some wine tasting at the Crouch Ridge estate. I do love going through the Havengor bridge when tides and firing range permit. Give that a go if you fancy a bit of an adventure. All the best Rob
@@EastCoastSailing_ I sometimes pop up to Yolksfleet for the night just around the counter from Havengore bridge but the tides make it awkward to get anywhere with out punching the tide over to the Medway, so I would tend to go around and pick up a flood tide. The crouch is nice but not many places to go compared to the Blackwater, I sail from Hullbridge which drys and the nearest Marina is nth fambridge (quite expensive, especially elec hook up) and the pub The Ferryboat is great
@@ianqv Hi Ian. We were only at Bradwell the other week with friends. There was lots of floating weed clogging up peoples fresh water intakes, overheating engines. Lots of breakdowns. We managed to find a clearing and nipped in. Had a great stay. Found a new pub, rather than normally going to the green man we went to the kings head and had a lovely meal. How did you find the channel by the way? Always keen to learn and grow the channel. All the best Rob
@@EastCoastSailing_ Hi Rob, I remember the weekend you are talking about. A lot of weed come in with the tide. I'm pleased to report that it has all cleared now. Although there is still lots of weed in the Orwell. We have had mixed reports re the Kings Head, but will give it another go. We enjoyed watching your intrepid walk to the Vineyard! In fact we are visiting the Shotley Vineyard this weekend! Will let you know how it goes. Enjoying the channel and looking forward to watching all of yr episodes. Cold Beer/Wine always awaits at Bradwell!
@@EastCoastSailing_ Hi Rob, We tried the Shotley Vineyard tour this weekend. VERY VERY good and well worth the visit. If you ask Nicely Charlotte (the Vineyard owner) will even collect you from the Marina
@@ianqv I’ll have to give that a go, was it better than Crouch Ridge? You must have had cracking weather this weekend. The tides were terrible so we couldn’t get out.
@@ianqv hi Ian, great. I’ll give it a go next time. Was it better than Crouch Ridge? Cracking weather this weekend. The tides were a bit rubbish so we didn’t bother going out in the end.
Been there, nice sailing. Little less talking/yeppin’ would be nice.
That’s proper sailing that is. Good job and very sensible to adopt plan B! 😊
