I think one of the most amazing parts of this video (apart from the build) is you enjoying the build - i think thats really vital for a successful city
I don't know how close we're getting to that node count, but damn I'm gonna miss Orchid Bay when it's gone. It's probably one of if not the best mostly Vanilla Cities Skylines builds on UA-cam, right up there with Verde Beach from CPP.
Orchid Bay has become such an amazing example of a Vanilla C:S metropolis. So many ingenious ideas and areas culminated into such a beautiful spectacle to watch.
CS1 still feels more lived-in and alive compared to CS2. It was very enjoyable watching this city grow and develop over the past few months. Thanks.
Just can't get enough of the transit in Orchid Bay. All of the "last minute" DLC and CCPs we got before they closed shop on CS1 has made a big impact, especially on vanilla builds, and OB really shows it all off. The stadiums and parks make such a huge difference now. Thanks for the amazing tour!

Orchid Bay has managed to become the rare thing - not only a great vanilla play city but the best vanilla OE city.

Perhaps a strange build. With the development of the Orchid Bay Entertainment Industry, what if there was a very small rehab centre for OB's strung out celebrity class? The foot of the mountains near Orchid Bye could be a nice placement, and a quick scurry from the airport could work to keep their anonymity lol
I named Orchid Bay way back in episode 2 I think, has been really fun to see you and the community take that name and run with it. Amazing build Egg.

Your transport infrastructure is simply awe-inspiring.
This is the series that introduced your channel to me and since then I’ve gone back and watched so much of your older series. I must say, you have changed the way I have developed my cities. I used to just have massive urban sprawl. But now I slow down and take the time to really detail areas before moving on. I take a little bit longer with my Public transport as well just to make sure I keep up with it further down the line. You and Biffa are, to me, the most important UA-camrs for my Cities skylines career(lol) as you’ve taught me the most! Thank you, so much!

Loved this recap, I can't believe this series has been running all year and how far its come! I can remember dang near every build. It has to be said how well your network and transportation planning is. Besides your detailing skills (obviously) one of your best skills how you manage to see the big picture when doing your network planning and tying in transportation and growing as you go. It will be a shame to see this series end but I have loved every episode along the way 🤙

I starded wathching only around episode 50, but even so I look foward every week for the new episode, I'm always amazed of how pretty you manage to make this city be even with the vanilla's many limitations, I really appreciate that you still continue this series and overall cs1 content in general ^^

Wonderful recap, that was a great way to explore Orchid Bay. I noticed that some areas I do not recall, I may have to rewatch the odd episode 🙂 You having so much fun building this out and loving the city that much that you sit there and fawn over a transport station is what makes these videos so enjoyable for us.

As a Brazilian, this tour made Orchid Bay feel like what Rio de Janeiro could've looked like if this was a serious country, with the surrounding mountains, wildlife... It's just beautiful.
I'm sorry that this build is coming to an end. It is a series i watched for a year and I will really miss cs1, i feel like cs2 is not a game, rather a simulator.... thank you egg for everything. I will never forget you as a good youtuber:)
(Btw your content actually made me buy 80£ of cs1 DLCs before 2 came out, so now i have to build something....

Amazing how far you've come since episode 1 (which incidently was also my first ever OE video and series, was supposed to be a one-off video but that clearly wasn't the case). It's been a fantastic journey watching you transform this barren and near-empty map into a fully-fledged city with its own character and charm. Proud of ya!
Never watched the whole series due to how long cities skylines builds take and when Orchid Bay started, I didn't play the game or even know u even existed lol, considering I got 6 finals this week, hopefully during break, I could have time to watch the series. Although ik little about how Orchid Bay was built, It's a very great city!
This is so great to look through. So many memories - I can't even imagine how satisfied you are to go through it.
Some ideas-
1. I’d like to see a kind of Le Paso. A bit of university/ research faculty. Could use a lot of unique or maybe a rocket launch site.
2. Maybe some kind of prehistoric settlement, assets are a little light in the ground but some burrows/ tombs like in Ireland and Scotland. I have faith that you can think of something. Maybe an archaeological museum/ dig community. Add a curse of Orchid Bay/ mummies tomb,
3. Farm mixed with the music asserts to make a festival. Bit like Glasto
4. An Eqyestrian centre
Can't believe how big it is, from the start to the latest episode I have loved every minute of this series. You've smashed it out of the park Egg.
Absolutely loving this Orchid Bay build! So much detail! It's inspired me to build my own city on the Bay of Rivers map! It's probably the best city build I've watched on UA-cam so far in the last couple of years. @OVERCHARGED EGG Kudos to you! First CS person i followed and subcribe too, so was also i first series from the start. I just started playing CS when you started this, so very much a newbie, but boy learnt so much from this , i love your others as well, but OB has a very special place in my heart. Keep this going as not really feeling CS2 yet.
Castle in Old Haven on that little hill top looking out to the water I think would look really cool, terrain might not allow it but would look really cool over the European assets like Edinburgh/Stirling
Mad Mountain needs an intricate water feature, the Fab Fountain

Sounds like you say Brooklyn and Keys, instead of Queens. Would love another overview video but about the statistics. Because my cities struggle financially, how do you do it? Love the transport, the Eggerglades, you even made the amusement park look good. And love how you have the goal to work in all the unique buildings because I'm not advanced enough to see those!

Kai tak doesn't exist anymore but it was a cool airport when I lived over there. Tower blocks definitely around the flight path 👍
Now all I have to do is wait until build guide 3 launches on January 2, 2024 in CS2 lol!
Hey Egg, I’m an audio engineer. Just wanted to offer some feedback on your voice recording…there’s an early reflection that makes your voice a bit “muddy”. I’m not sure if it’s a wall near you or your desk. Treating reflective surfaces with anything that absorbs sound (thick blanket, egg cartons, foam, etc) would really make your voice a lot clearer. Love your content, thank you 🙏🏼

@@OVERCHARGEDEGG Thanks for the reply! It might actually be the desk. It’s the surface nearest to you, I assume. Ugh, room acoustics can be a nightmare, lol. Also the compression for UA-cam increases any reflections the mic is picking up, much more than you’d hear naturally in the room. Believe me, I spent so many hours trying wrangle the room acoustics in my studio. Anyway no worries, your channel is obviously doing just fine, lol. 😁

I'm not sure yet. Thessia has a very long way to go!! The demand for cs1 videos is falling and ultimately I have to do what is the best for the channel, so we'll have to see how cs1 content is performing as to whether or not it appears on the channel

@OVERCHARGEDEGG I really hope you continue CS1 builds. Not all of us have the PC power required for CS2 builds. I bought CS2 at pre-release thinking my PC was powerful enough. Then they updated the PC requirements and my PC is now too weak to play CS2 properly. So I only play CS1. That's been the beauty of CS1, you don't need a powerful computer system to enjoy the game.

Just started watching and i am noticing that there is no ground pollution around that first industrial area. How did you manage to do that because my industries are filled with it? (With the same assets)

This is by far my favorite cities skylines build. There are other cities I've seen with more exotic designs but this city is so organic, so rich in history and lore. Cheers Egg🫡
