I just got into a similar accident in this same exact car and I have to say, I cannot believe I only walked away with severe bruising. I got so lucky and the interior of this car saved my life. I never want to get in an accident again but Nissan has my trust…it was horrific but I genuinely feel I would’ve been very badly hurt in a different car of the same year and size. It’s mind boggling to see what I went through in that scenario for sure but I’m so amazed at how safe it was.
Emmak Leonardus because the brake is not being put on. the car is being pulled from the bottom in this demonstration and doesn’t accurately show if somebody were to be driving and use the brake. I think this is more to show structurally how the car would put up with a crash
Yes but the thing is in a real works collision with something bigger then it it performs bad. You can go to crashes cars.com and search for them. You can see that even new 2018s perform bad in real world collisions. Front side rear rollover it doesn't matter. All perform bad.
kode1996 that’s funny, because the IIHS has raced about this vintage versa for its size and weight compared to other vehicles in its class pretty much recommending it. It did do well in this test as many vehicles do since this is the easiest test to pass. You can’t say oh well this car does bad vs a bigger car so it’s bad when you could literally endlessly say that about any car .. for example youre basically saying that everyone should drive an expedition because it’s so big and that makes it safe but your contradicting yourself because something bigger like a semi truck is safer when it crashes into it ..everyone who is interested in vehicle safety should and hopefully does understand the laws of physics and take crash test rating for what they are meant to be.. not judging a car because it can’t defy physics. As I said earlier you can argue that any car is smaller and thus being less safe than something bigger and before you know it your saying a semi truck is less safe than driving an airplane on a highway because the airplane is bigger and higher off the ground and only the wheels get hit by the semi and its just ridiculous at that point. Every time I see a comment from you I am just amazed at the ignorance lol it’s either that or you’re a fan boy of some other car and everything else is automatically shit and that’s basically everyone on UA-cam

kode1996 lol I read comments not sorry about it. And it’s not knowledge it’s opinions and you have every right to have an opinion. However hateful or ignorant opinions don’t make you look knowledgeable they make you look ignorant and hateful lol cars today have come a long way since the 70s 80s 90s and even early 2000s ..the Daewoo Leganza literally had cabin deformation but was still considered a pass in this exact test. This car has received a lot of praise for its safety especially when it was first released in 2012. It received a good in the overlap side and roof crash tests from the IIHS and a 4 star from NHTSA very comparable to every other sub compact from its release to now. Small overlap is very comparable to other sub compacts that haven’t recently had a redesign as well so you can’t really fault it for that pretty much every car did horrible in the small overlap when the IIHS first introduced it regardless of size. And as stated before the Nissan Versa has been praised by the IIHS for its size compared to other sub compacts even in its first generation the versa has been the top rated of the sub compact market mostly due to its size and weight when compared to cars in its class
I bought this car knowing full well that I will die in a car wreck, just incase anyone sees this and thinks about getting one, instant total upon impact with anything
I can say I agree on that last sentence. Got in a car accident with one of these(wasn’t driving) but t-boned another car and it was considered totaled.
I was with my dad and got into an accident and the car was a total loss, but both we got alive with no injuries. The accident was because some distracted truck driver crashed us and on our front there was a trailer also we weren't moving because there was another accident like 40 foot away, the truck driver still managed to steer the wheel to the left and didn't make us a human meat sandwich.

Glad you're okay! I just got a '24 Versa.
I can’t wait for the release of more oblique tests.
Good video & great Nissan.
I should have watched this before buying it
Lmao the passenger pushing the headrest off with their head.
waychillbro not a good design. A headrest should not be able to be released as it did
Clearly the seat belts of a Nissan do not work.

Does this actually mean that there are "Chest G's 47/48" 47 to 48 gs on the chest? I don't think it is. So what does that mean? TIA.
The version versa 2016 was three stars. 2019 is four stars?
Probably made minor structural changes
eso era de latin ncap, nissan para latinoamerica quito algunas barras y soportes por eso es mas fragil el auto que el estadounidense
I got in a rear impact accident in the 2017 versa and I thought it was totaled. Only thing that happened was the bumper popped out.
I had the 2012 redesign. It was probably 1/2 stars total. Never felt safe in that thing.
Both driver and passenger would survive...which ain't a bad thing for such a small car!
